Good point, i will try and be optimistic about everyone going after a single event reward and everyone playing fair to get it...

Naw but in seriousness, i am curious as to who will end up with the prize, if someone does at all that is. Last event where there was this level of a prize was right before i joined so im curious.

What's this? A major event based around fleeting in space? Oh Sasha you tease!

Here's hoping for statue number two...

I do love to tease.

Seriously though I'm basing it a lot off Roche and Dark Harvest and the things I learned there. So yes fleeting will be important, and no other types of RP won't be discouraged. If you all remembered there was something for everyone in both events and I intend to do that here. I also intend to try and figure out a way to slow things down compared to at Roche (2000 posts 10 days). Now sure exactly how to do that, but I'm open to suggestions from the community on this.

Concentrate on the journey, not its conclusion, my young Padawan.

You know I just thought about it aaaand....

So Roche the biggest and really only complaint I got was it went too quick and it was too hard to join when it was at post 1,000 in like 2 and a half days. Understandable, I wouldn't have joined that either. So here is what I think.

Okay so like Roche there will be multiple objectives across the battlefield/thread which will divide players. Once divided players sort of got into their own posting rhythm so there was high and low intensity areas. With this event, I think players will be drawn to certain area's because umm SSD. I imagine most players will be drawn to what they think will be the most direct route to get it (Trying not to give anything away lol) So I would think/hope it would be obvious for slower posters where not to go. I would label area's in the first post high to low intensity posting but I think that is completely unenforceable and a waste of time, and as I said early I think it will be obvious what gets the most attention right away.

What I think could help though. A good OOC thread and maybe like area captains. These people at the end or beginning of the day/whenever they feel like it could post a quick summary of what happened in their area of the thread. Ideally many people would do this keeping an OOC thread up to date but too much and yeah.

A lot of people I suspect will feel this way. I can't really say anything to alleviate these sorts of concerns, but me and event staff had a tight hold on Roche. There was only 3 reports in 2,000 some odd posts. I welcomed everyone to come to me right away or the event staff with any complaints and I dealt with a lot of issues before they became issues. I think the only person who walked away unhappy from a ruling made was [member="Darth Janus"]. And that is just because he was thirty two. Seriously I'll tell you the story someday, its lawlsy and me and him joke about it all the time... mostly me but still. But yeah Roche was like this event with a a 3km long ship biggest on the board for the time on the line, and there wasn't a huge scramble for just that single objective.

I mean I can only point to the past and ask you to talk to people who participated in Roche a year and a half ago and Dark Harvest a year ago. I received very few complaints about it being unfair, or about power gaming. In both cases the community as a whole really stepped up, behaved, and just had some good old fun.

Alright, so for some early event info. FLEETING.

The total fleet size a faction will be allowed is 15,000 meters of ship length. This doesn't include personal ships which players are free to bring with their characters. This also doesn't include any dedicated landing ships (which I hope we'll get some tech entries for in the coming weeks) which will be around to get people to the planet and not be in combat. Further I would like every faction to select an Admiral. This is a person in charge of their fleet for the event. This person will be partially responsible for handling fair play and balance, a representative of your faction. Their duties will be to help arbitrate disputes with other "admirals" and to bring issues that can't be speedily resolved to me. Chain of command. How a faction divides up its fleet between fleeting players is not my concern, I am giving ample time for you lot to figure that out.

[member="Valeria Aetani"] will be working with me to look over fleet lists and make sure people aren't going overboard with stuff. So no using minor production ships as like your only vessel and things like that. Please PM me and Valeria Aetani with your basic fleet list asap.

We may try something similar with ground troops. Open to suggestions here. There was a really neat battle at Roche with [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] and the Sith Empire, but it also got out of hand when one player brought like 300 troops and the other brought 15,000. Epic but a little skewed.

[member="Darth Mierin"], [member="Popo"], [member="Salem Norongachi"], [member="Ayden Cater"], [member="Domino"], [member="Gilamar Skirata"], [member="Mia Monroe"], [member="Valeria Aetani"] [member="Rasu Gan"], [member="Lucianus Adair"], [member="Seydon of Arda"] [member="Tsavong Kraal"]

I think I got all the major faction owners plus some people I knew were interested in fleeting... if I missed anyone please tell me and I can add them to the list.

You know I've considered this in the past and there is a few reasons why I didn't implement it but I'll tell you the big one right now. I don't think people would be obliged to follow that rule. Someone would post a quick paragraph talking and someone else would post talking back and they would just ignore that. And once someone ignores it for something mundane like that other people would start ignoring it until it became a problem. And frankly it would be another thing I would have to enforce. There are a lot of solutions out there that just wouldn't work because as of this moment I have 1 volunteer to help with this event. So a solution with high "staff" involvement adds to the workload and isn't worth it to me. I guarantee I get overloaded as is.

I do like that you actually gave me a suggestion though lol. Didn't mean to be a negative Nancy about it, I just am not sure it is fair to certain people on the board to do that or if it would be something I could enforce. As it stands the last two events I ran only a few people read the rules so I am expecting them not to this time as well.
