Ever since its beginning, the Galactic Alliance had been assigned many nicknames throughout the galaxy, some of them widely known, some of them incredibly rare yet still fun -- the Beacon of Light, the Jedi Who Don't Drink Tea, and many others. Yet the faction was more than that. It was a bringer of hope and Lilin knew that very well. And hope was something so many people throughout the galaxy needed during the seemingly endless galactic war. People were tired and exhausted, torn apart from the infinite war between Jedi and Sith. And the two Force-user organisations were by no means the people who truly suffered from the effects of that war. So many innocent people had to die, so many needed protection which neither the One Sith nor the Galactic Republic were able to provide.

Omwat was one of them. Between the Galactic Alliance and the Techo Union in the galaxy, it was a planet which had suffered during all the galactic conflicts and wanted somebody to help them. Of course the Galactic Alliance would not leave these people behind. They would provide them all the aid they could, they would protect the planet at all costs.

And Lilin was pretty sure she and all the other harbingers of safety and freedom from the new huge faction were going on the planet to do that. She didn't have a huge armada to take with her. In fact, she barely had a ship. But that was alright. She wasn't supposed to be there after all. Her time away from huge explorations and endless adventures was in full effect and she shouldn't have joined the group going to the planet. But the point was, it was a planet they needed under the control of the faction.

So she was pretty sure nobody would mind her going to Omwat to bring them some hope that things would get better and the war wouldn't last forever. However, she had started to understand the only way there would be peace in the galaxy would be if there were no living souls whatsoever. And that was a pretty poor option, which she was afraid to even think of.

Her ship was in the atmosphere of the planet and had actually been there for quite a while as she prepared for the mission. She knew a lot of the Force-sensitive population of the planet were completely untrained and had never even heard of their powers. Such people would be an amazing addition to the New Jedi Order, therefore she just had to go to the capital of the planet to find such people.

And then she would take them with her, as long as they and their families were alright with that.

OBJECTIVES

1. Recruit Force-Users
Omwati people are known for having taken on the practice of using the Force later than most other species in the galaxy. Some of them have been talented Jedi, several of them have joined the Omwati Force Tradition, but there are many individuals who haven't been trained in the ways of the Force. Find them and bring them to the New Jedi Order.
[ Peaceful ]

2. Stop Dark Side Recruiters
The Galactic Alliance is not the only one trying to gain Omwati people to join their ranks. Dark Side splinter groups of the Omwati Force Tradition have evolved and are fanatically spreading their traditions among the people of the planet. Some of them seem to be aligned with Sith factions like the One Sith and Order of the Black Rose. Stop these splinter groups.
[ PvE ]

3. Grab Criminal Leftovers
There have been whispers about criminal organisations' establishments on the planet. Most of them appear to be abandoned in a hurry, meaning valuable ships and weapons have been left on the planet. However, not all of these establishments are empty. Write a story of adventure as you either grab the leftovers or get caught by criminals.
[ Adventure ]

Items Left Behind By Pirates (up for grabs):

Weapons
DH-17 blaster pistol
B-501 Heavy Needler
X-12 energy blade

Starfighters
T-65 X-wing starfighter

Starships
G9 Rigger freighter

You are also free to claim you've found any other items which are not mentioned in this list, as long as it is logical and fitting.
4. Stop Those Messy Pirates
A number of various private ships have entered the system of Omwat and have no good intentions. The size of their armada makes up a fleet and has been considered a threat of an invasion by the local government. Make your way into the system and stop the pirates from getting to Omwat.
[ Fleet / Piloting ]

5. Get the Death Star Out of the Way
Ever since Sidious' Galactic Empire's beginning, Omwati scientists have been associated with the creation of the infamous superweapon Death Star. There are rumours of the powerful weapon's plans still moving around the planet as if the construction of the weapon would be started again by an unknown organisation. Find out who is behind the spread of the plans and seize them.
[ Espionage ]

X. Write Your Own Story
You know the deal -- go exploring, develop something, handle personal business, have fun.

Objective: 5. Get the Death Star Out of the Way

On the screen were in-the-trench shots, from the viewpoint of an X-wing camera mount.

Nubica looked back at the datapad on her hands. The brief, in the eyes of the scientists, was to construct something that could break up dead planets to allow direct mining of the heavy metals trapped in the core. To create autonomous factories combing asteroids or sterile worlds to produce a wide range of items without polluting inhabited planets.

The project had been known by various code names and the original plans had been much improved by the Geonosian leader Poggle the Lesser. But it had taken years for the concept to be stewarded through the tortuous maze of government bureaucracy before construction was finally ordered to begin. There were still flaws in the original plans, but many of them had been addressed during the building of the proof-of-concept prototype in the Maw Installation, and others were being corrected as they were uncovered. The greatest minds in the galaxy had been recruited or drafted to lend their expertise to the building of this machine. The brilliant Dr. Ohran Keldor, the mad weapons master Umak Leth, the young but nevertheless laser-sharp Omwati prodigy Qwi Xux, the Twi'lek administrator Tol Sivron-they, and many, many others of like stripe, had been investigated and approved by Tarkin himself. All were as good as the Empire could provide, willing or unwilling.

In addition, he had conscripted a veritable army of enslaved Wookiees, plus tens of thousands of convicts from the steaming jungles of the prison planet Despayre, and a plethora of construction droids, the latter the largest such collection of automata ever assembled. All of them, organic and artificial, worked around the chrono, with but one goal in mind: the culmination of Tarkin's vision.

The project code-named Death Star.

Cuan Kunn had pulled into real space, the leader of a flight of starfighter pilots, while the Squad Commander and Wing Commander were just… others. He didn’t care, he had his four pilots up for grabs here. The Sullustan smiled as he grabbed the throttle control, well, smiled as much as his species could. They were heading into the fray, defending the Alliance interests and rescuing the Omwat. Sure, he understood the point and purpose of the Alliance. Help those that they could, stop the Sith. It was simple, it was wonderful, but they were hunting pirates, and for him? Just the best thing he could do.

Grabbing the stick, his BB unit was chattering away and marking targets. Locals were calling this an invasion force, and he was agreeing. “Alright, flight, lets take it to them, break together, we’ve got the bombers going for our fleet. From there, we’ll take the corvettes.” He transmitted the list of targets and gave the all clear. His S-Foils opened up and the ship leapt to combat speed.

Time to get his ace for the day.

Poy pulled the stick back on her T-65XJ and rolled over into a steep dive, the target computer prioritizing the one hundred most lethal targets in the pirate fleet. Having attained the rank of ace, that is scoring five confirmed victories over enemy spacecraft, many moons ago while flying as a new member of the Alliance's special operations unit, known as Black Dog Squadron, she hoped to surpass that score today. Looming ahead of her was an Imperial scout vessel, obviously picking up information on Omwat and disseminating that information back to the main body of pirates in the main fleet. "Cuan, I've found a scout vessel. Five hundred meters in front. I'm picking up signals that it is sending information about Omwat back to the main pirate fleet. Going to engage," Poy armed her target locking proton torpedoes and then the target computer scanned for possible trajectories, and two came up on the screen - the main engines and the electronics done. The vessel moved right into Poy's line of sight and there was a loud, steady tone as the computer locked onto both locations.

"Firing!!" Poy shouted over the comlink, pressing the firing button as hard as she possibly could. The two torpedoes left their racks and headed straight for the ship. No matter what way it turned, it would never be able to outrun them. Two massive explosions rocked the ship as the proton torpedoes made contact and virtually destroyed the thrust and communication of the vessel. It was sitting dead in space, so Poy decided to do the humane thing and end the crew's suffering. Using the computer, Poy locked onto the fuell cell and fired off another proton torpedo.

Several seconds later, the scout vessel exploded in a bright light, temporarily blinding the Twi'lek as she flew through the debris. She managed to come through with no lasting effects, and gave a very ecstatic reply over the comlink to Cuan and her comrades. "Scout vessel is confirmed as destroyed! Moving to next target of opportunity Cuan. Black Five out," Poy grinned as she came across target number two - a slow moving communications ship that was on the outside of the fleet, transmitting countless orders to and from those various starships. You are mine...

All of a sudden, her comlink went dead - the communications ship was jamming any and all enemy radio transmissions. "Frotz!!" she shouted, as she turned onto the final heading and slipped in behind the vessel, arming a proton torpedo and locking on its fuel cell. The target computer gave another loud tone as a lock was achieved - Poy fired the torpedo and the communications ship exploded into pieces. Two in five minutes was not bad, not bad at all. Her computer directed her to her third target - a much larger and better armed C9979 landing craft. Bring it on!!

“I find your company to be—“ She could feel the cold yellow eyes casting themselves over her form, their gaze lingering for longer than she would have liked. “—Intriguing, Miss Zantar.” The speaker was Bleth Xux, an Omwati whose particular profession, a scientist of physics and residing professor of the Omwat University had made him a prime target by the Alliance to solve these whispers of ancient ghosts coming back to haunt them.

“I am glad you find it as such.” Maya Zantar, academic and planetary advisor of the Galactic Alliance answered, her voice sweet against the ever present backdrop of confidence. “It would have made our meetings extremely difficult if you had found myself boring Professor.” She took a sip of the wine that had been served for the two by a servant droid that was disappearing into the shadows.

“Well I was expecting boredom you see.” Bleth rolled his finger across his glass, his off-hand playing with his fork near the empty plate before him. “When I was contacted to take audience of an official my mind did instantly fall towards the ranks of your seniors. I am glad my assumption was rarely incorrect on this particular matter.” The Omwati was dressed from head to toe in the most outrageously colourful attire that was popular among his culture. The rainbow of his clothes set aside the bland paleness of his blue flesh yet could not drown out his yellow eyes as they again moved up and down Maya’s own appearance. “I do hope these last few days have been comfortable?”

“Oh yes, most pleasing.” Maya replied with a professional smile. She had arrived three days ago on the instructions of the Governing body of the Alliance to attempt the interior espionage of Bleth’s rumoured involvement with an underground group. “Your hospitality has been second to none and I have visited a lot of hospitable places.” The underground grouping was said to be made up of Omwati’s casting elite, a group who had fallen upon a jackpot by the rumoured retrieval of the Death Star plans that had arisen nearly a thousand years ago. A weapon of ultimate destruction that the Alliance could not allow to remain in the galaxy. “May I ask something of you however?” She batted her eyelids and smiled again.

“Of course my dear.” Her discreet flirtation was working after all. “Perhaps we could exchange questions along with some simple deductions. It might be fun.” He was sickening. Easily forty years her senior yet still looking at her like a piece of steak he was about to devour.

“I am interested in seeing the University.” She said bluntly, but not without a hint of pleading put in their for effect. “I was hoping you could organise a pass for myself? It would please me so.” Bleth’s eyes narrowed ever so slightly, but the net had been lain.

“Of course my Miss Zantar.” He replied as the service droid reappeared. “We shall visit there on the evening after next. I can arrange a personal tour.” He seemed to emphasis that last detail far too much.

“Thank you.” Food was placed before them and Maya looked it over, yet her mind was on something completely different. Perhaps personal was the best direction. Less eyes, less chances of being caught.

Approaching the landing craft, Poy was met by a hail of cannon and laser fire. Miraculously, she managed to avoid the first wave of attacks and then quickly launched a volley of proton torpedos and took out the vessel's battle droid troop transport section, along with the Multi-Troop Transport transport section. Amazingly, it stayed up in the air and the cannons and lasers were fired point blank at her X-Wing. The weapons found their mark and tore pieces off the fighter. It was still flying, so Poy went in for her second run and took out the power cells and most of the cannons and lasers. They exploded and left the vessel gradually more and more vulnerable. She fired off two more torpedoes and destroyed the atmosphere pressure changing turbine engines, followed by the radiant ion drive engines. It was now dead in space and the commander desperately tried to surrender, but Poy was having none of it. One by one, its remaining systems were shot away and that only left the fuel cell to be done.

"How are you holding up Cuan?" she asked over the comlink, as she circled around the landing craft, watching pieces of it fall away and somehow it was still flying and she wondered what the crew was thinking right now. Were they evacuating or did they all want to stay and fight to the bitter end with a single-seat Starfighter?

Lining up with the cell, the targeting computer locked onto it and then Poy fired off two proton torpeodes. The landing craft exploded in a giant fireball, with Poy barely escaping. She turned her attention to a small picket ship. The crew had no idea what was about to happen to them. She locked onto the ship's fuel cell, and fired her last torpedo. It made contact with the cell and the vessel exploded as Poy flew through the debris. The computer showed that the torpdeo bays were empty, so she'd have to rely on her cannons and machine guns against the lighter armed vessels of the fleet, before returning to the battle carrier to replenish her ammunition and all nine empty torpedo bays. Poy found a TIE fighter escorting the fleet, so she went in hard and fast, firing her cannons and the TIE fighter exploded in front of her.

"Be back in a jiffy Cuan. Returning to a battle carrier to replenish my ammunition and those torpedoes, over," Poy made a bee-line for the Illustrious and landed. As the cockpit opened, she shouted to the Ordinancemen, who rushed over and restocked the X-Wing with nine new proton torpedoes and extra cannon rounds. Re-engaging the twin engines, Poy moved out and pushed in front of another Starfighter getting ready to take off. The arresting gear crew hooked her X-Wing up to the catapult, and then, ten seconds later, she was speeding down the corridor and emerged back into the fight. The target computers prioritized more targets and she dove back into the melee, heading for her next target. "I'm back Cuan!" Poy said over the comlink as she hit the boosters and scattered a pirate squadron of TIE fighters into space.

The familiar lurch into real-space had GA pilot Jareb Kaine bristling with anticipation. The stars settled into their proper positions as his eyes refocused from the streaming lights of hyperspace to the system he and the fleet had just dropped in at. Comm chatter buzzed in his ear in an organized flurry as they began their check-ins.

"This is Black One reporting in." He said, checking his comms. The pirate vessels were dead ahead. It was a rag tag group and all the models were at least a decade old, but it was quite a sizable fleet for pirates. TIE fighters streamed out of one of the the large transports and made a beeline for their attack group. Jareb hoped they were the older single seater model, and not those pesky Gen 2's with the rear gunner. The TIE's closed the distance quickly. If they had to be defined by any one thing, "fast" was definitely the word to use.

"Bee Dee, dampen the inertial compensators." He spoke to his droid as the GA fighter squadrons broke off in all different directions. Green sizzling lasers lanced out at his X-Wing. "I'm not mopping lunch out of the cockpit again!" Jareb gritted as he sent his starfighter into a barreling nose dive along the Y- axis. BD-3 chortled out a series of beeps Kaine knew to be the droids form of laughter.

"Yeah, yeah be lucky you're not a cleaning droid!" He bantered while yanking his throttle towards him and slagging a TIE with a volley of his quad cannons.

Jareb leveled off towards the bigger ships, hoping to punch through their shields with a couple bursts of laser fire. Instead, the transport erupted in a ball of glowing flame and energy before he could fire off a shot.

"Holy CHIT!!" Jareb jumped and jerked against his crash harness. He glanced around his viewport wildly looking for the source, then spotted a lone X-Wing streak across his line of sight.

"Black Five, that you?" He had heard the woman speaking up over the comms. "Mighty talkative today aren't we chatter box?" Jareb quipped as his X-Wing whipped behind her and a trailing TIE on her back. He squeezed the trigger and sent the TIE smoking and spiraling off trajectory. "You do know those Protons don't come cheap right?" He laughed. "I'll conserve mine and stick with the quads. Don't worry, I've got your back." Jareb grinned as he lined up on her flank as an escort.

Poy smirked. Jareb was always a charmer. "Yes, you've told me a thousand times that proton torpedoes are like precious jewels and should be conserved," she said with a laugh, as the battle hardened Twi'lek lined up on a gunship that was protecting one of the larger ships within the pirate fleet. "By the way Jareb, this is going to be kill number five. So I will be an ace in a day. See if you can get it quicker than me!" she winked at him and barelled on her prey, firing all four quad cannons. Her droid, R2-Q2, "Ar-Que", beeped and blooped excitedly in the back.

"Settle down Que. Remember what happened last time?" Ar-Que had forgotten to repair the weapon computer, which lead to her cannons seizing up and unable to fire at a TIE Fighter that was on a collision course with her X-Wing. Ar-Que beeped apologetically, and then he got back to work monitoring the Starfighter. The cannon shells found their mark and the gunship exploded. "Woohoo!! Yes!! Yes!!" Poy shouted over the comlink, performing a barrel roll over the disintegrating vessel. Kill number five - she had now achieved "Ace in a Day" status twice.

"Did you see that?!" she exclaimed to Jareb, as she bounced up and down in her seat. Ar-Que joined in on the celebrations and showed his appreciation for his plucky pilot. Thirty seconds later, a second gunship fell to her cannons. That was kill number six for the day. As soon as she avoided the debris, a pirate-operated Lancer-class frigate on anti-Starfighter duty, opened fire and its rounds slammed into Poy's craft; they found their mark and the targeting computer was put out of action until she could get back to the battle carrier and make repairs.

"Be careful Jareb, those damn pirates have an anti-Starfighter ship!!" she cursed her luck at the target computer going down - she would be focusing even more now on the targets that she deemed to be an immediate threat. But she need not have worried. Ar-Que selected targets and he would downloaded them from his combat system to an onboard communicator, telling Poy what type of vessels were round her and what it would take to destroy them. "Thanks Ar-Que. I would be lost without you!" she chimed in on the comlink as she hunted for her next kill.

Objective: 5

Nubica knew the GA had many irons in the fire in tracking down any remnant of the Death Star plans — or any plot to re-create one. Maybe they would all be dead-ends? In a sense, that wouldn’t be a bad outcome — for it would mean there was no threat to face.

But Nubica — like the others charged with this particular assignment — would not rest until they’d exhausted every lead.

There was a taint of melodrama to the name that was assigned to the structure. But then the words, along with the reality of the battle station itself, would amply convey its terrifying purpose. Nubica shook her head. Never again should the galaxy see such a weapon.

She continued to read the file. Her reason? To look for events. Ones she could correlate to current reports. To see if the patterns were emerging again.
Originally the Horuz system had been scavenged for raw material; asteroids and comets were harvested from both the inner and outer belts and broken into components of oxygen, hydrogen, iron, nickel, and other elements; enormous bulk transports, ore haulers, tankers, and cargo craft had been gutted and reconfigured as orbiting laboratories, factories, and housing, all filled with workers producing fiber optics, electronics, and thousands of other technological instruments and construction materials.

She keyed this data into the programme that would do the analysis for her. Work that would take weeks if not months otherwise.

And a prototype had been built and refined in the heart of the swarm of black holes known as the Maw cluster. It seemed Tarkin and Bevel Lemelisk, the head of design, had had the Death Star project moved several times to avoid possible sabotage attempts, ultimately relocating it to the Horuz system for added security. And she found the final piece of the jigsaw for the programme to evaluate. Four Imperial-class Star Destroyers and countless smaller attack craft, kept constant vigilance over the project; any unauthorised ships that entered the region did not leave.

Sure she’d put enough data in, she pressed the Enter key and waited…

Kunn was A-okay with his position in the fighter squadron, he wasn’t looking to take the leadership roles, just push people to kill more enemies. Sitting today in Black Four, he was grinning when the call came over the comms from the Twi’lek pilot. Bit of a talker, that one, but she killed enemies good, and that was all the Sullustan worried about.

Straight outta Sullust, or something. But he gave her the double tap as she moved on to the target, locating himself in behind some fighters and warming up his guns. Making short work of their shields, he pushed on past them before dipping the X-Wing tightly and whipping the nose around, while slowing the engines. He was now almost on the path he had left the fight in, but flipped. Up was down and back was front. Switching to missiles, he launched a concussion missile back into the fighters he had screamed over before pushing his engines back up.

“Ball, keep pushing the targets of opp to the squad. And watch that stabilizer.” He shook his head and looked out at the fight that he was jetting back towards.

“Black Lead, its four. Looks like those carriers are the prime cause for concern. We can get one of those down, fighters won’t be havin’ a home ta git to. Can probably knock one down with a run, you game?” Kunn was always game for carnage.

Poy swung around and saw that her next opponent was an I-7 Howlrunner attack starfighter. Letting off several cannon shells, they impacted the fuselage and then her prey fired its two laser cannons and she managed to dodge them, and entered into a turning battle. The I-7's pilot was a former Galactic Empire ace who knew that he had that tactical advantage. The one thing what would lead to his downfall was overconfidence in his craft. Poy fired her quad cannons and they seemingly bounced off; the pilot had engaged the deflector shield. Poy knew, from her time flying captured Empire craft, that the shield would be a drain on the Howlrunner's power and would be shut down to conserve power. "How are you doing buttercup?" Poy asked Jareb, as she dove downwards and got underneath the Howlrunner.

Although the pirates seemed to have everything at hand, the Twi'lek knew that the Alliance would overcome this obstacle. The X-Wing's weapon system locked onto a single part of the underside of the Howlrunner that was unprotected by the shield. Firing the quad cannons, they found their mark and the Howlrunner exploded, but it was still flying somehow. Her shots hit the shield generator on the underside of the starfighter, which left her enemy vulnerable. Getting right down beneath her prey, a determined Poy pitched her Starfighter's nose straight up and hit the boosters, firing her cannons as she gradually got closer and closer. The Howlrunner exploded into a giant fireball and Poy silently congratulated herself. "Need help with anything Jareb? I'm not occupied at the moment," she asked over the comlink cheekily.

With seven kills in two sorties, she was getting up there to take the record of overall kills in one battle. The pirate fleet was putting up a good fight, but they were now losing precious time fighting the Starfighter squadrons. Poy hoped that they would be able to hang on long enough that either the pirate fleet would be destroyed or it would be forced to retreat. She tucked up next to Jareb's wing and watched the continuing battle, making sure that he was protected. "Once this is all through, I will buy you a drink when we get back to the battle carrier," Poy had flown with Jareb since being assigned to this outfit and had often recounted her prior service in Black Dog Squadron, performing special operations all over the galaxy. R2-Q2 beeped from his position rather cheerfully - he had finally fixed the targeting computer.

Post 2/20

The university grounds were lavish and full of fantastic life.
Exotic trees and plants long known to be extinct in their natural environment, it was all on show. However even now, in the closed hours the two who walked through the area paid them little attention.
Bleth had paid them some passing comment as he had allowed Maya to step in front of him and begin their traverse down the path that was lit by millions of tiny lights, almost as if a nest of fireflies had made their homes among the small bushes that travelled down the pathway.
In any other situation Maya would have said it was stunning. Today however it was just a gross cover-up to the evil that she knew hid within the structure before the pair.

“My office.” Bleth stated as he opened a door ten minutes later, the small room that was offered to her was not anything like she had expected. Simple and mundane the design had no similarities the ostentatious dress chosen by it’s owner. Even his smile had more charm. “We shall discuss the universities programs in here. Where it is quiet.”

“That would be lovely.” Maya said as she entered the room, her wits about her and the urge resisted to smack the Omwati around the head when his hand brushed her shoulder. “I have been very impressed with what I have seen so far Professor. The Alliance will be most interested in establishing several programs that will aid both your students and our own.” She smiled, acting obvious to the way he shut the door and slipped the lock on.

“Of course.” He paused near a small desk that held two glasses and took his time working around with them. “The Alliance is first among my thoughts of late.” He turned and offered her one of the glasses, moving closer to her. “The way the Omwati people and the Alliance can, serve each other interests me greatly.” He ran a finger along her chin.

“Yes.” Maya looked into his eyes, the time for playing was up she decided. “How can you serve the Alliance?”

“I?” He caught his surprise well. “I do not serve. Not directly.” He removed himself slightly from her presence caught off guard by the way she suddenly seemed to have taken control.

“Oh that is not what I have been led to believe Professor.” She stepped towards him. “We both know that you live to serve.”

“I…” He put his glass down. “Don’t know what you are talking about.”

“Project Resurgance.” She said dropping the name only to see his reaction, which didn’t disappoint. A series of eye flutters and caught breath.

“How did you…” He never got to finish, the sheer reaction told her everything that she needed to know. Bleth was involved and the name of the project, sourced from methods outside the Alliance. Her hand drew the blaster faster than he could react and shot him in the chest. Yes it was only a stun shot, but it would be enough to knock him out for a few hours.
Stepping up to the data console she gave it a puzzled look.

Time to get to work.

"I'm fine, sweetheart, just fine." Jareb said through gritted teeth as his X-Wing barreled through sheets of scrap metal that was formerly part of a ship. His shields were weak but they had enough power to burst through it with minimal damage. Kaine slammed against his crash harness as the starfighter shuddered. Two TIE's ducked behind him and opened fire as he blasted after Poy.

"I'm hanging in here!" he assured her as he weaved through the wreckage that had been left in Black Five's wake. The TIE's failed to even clip his shields as he rocketed around a particularly large chunk of a transport ship. Jareb eyes lit up as he glanced behind him for a split second and watched one of the TIE's ram into the side of the wrecked transport's bulkhead.

"I hear you Black Four." Jareb relayed to [member="Cuan Kunn"] about the carriers. "I say we hit 'em now." Kaine yanked on the throttle and his X-Wing shot upwards out of the wreckage.

"There's still the matter of that assault frigate. It's heavy turbolasers are targeting our starfighters. Shields can't hold up against those. Four and Five I suggest the run, and I'll distract the frigate. Probably gonna need more than one drink after this!" Jareb stared at the assault ship. It wasn't huge but it was packing some big guns. "How 'bout we settle for an open tab?"

Poy nodded to Jareb, and she formed up alongside Cuan for the run into the pirate carrier. "So how many do you think we need to take down?" she asked Cuan, as the targeting computer came back online and showed one pirate carrier dead ahead of her X-Wing. Arming her torpedoes and readying her quad cannons, the carrier filled up her sights, and that fearless Twi'lek went in full bore to draw the carrier's fire, to give Cuan along with Jareb a clear shot. The carrier's weapons tracked Poy and everything opened fire. She danced across the sky and managed to get away from them, before turning back and doing a second run, watching as her two comrades began their attack runs on the pirate vessel.

She fired off two of her torpedoes and they slammed into one of the engines, ripping it from its mounting and sending it into space. "Oh yeah!!!" the Twi'lek exclaimed over the comlink. Moving in closer, she lined up with the second engine, looked through the targeting reticle and fired the torpedo. It hit its mark, and that engine went spiralling off into the vastness of space. That carrier was now partially dead, but the three of them still had to destroy the still functioning weaponry. Poy took down the laser cannons with her quad cannons, leaving smouldering craters where, a few minutes before, laser cannons and their crews had been stationed on the vessel. Now, Poy moved onto the carrier's launching systems.

"Hopefully I can take out their catapults and arresting gear, so they can't send any more fighters out to intercept us," Poy took her X-Wing in low and she lined up with one of those launching corridors. Arming her heat-seeker missiles, she heard a locking tone come in, loud and clear, over the comlink. Pushing the firing button, a heat-seeker missile left its rack and headed down the corridor, detonating against a refuelling fighter as it was getting readied for another sortie. There was a loud explosion and a wall of flame travelled down the corridor and burst out into space. One down, with three to go.

"That suits me just fine buttercup!!" Poy said to him over the comlink, as she lined up with the second catapult corridor.

Nubica Felidae

We are well and truly forked...
[Post=3/20]

Objective: 5

Nothing. Nothing at all.

Nubica wasn’t sure if she should be pleased or not. If the algorithms and whatever the programme used to extrapolate and analyse data was robust – it meant there was no immediate worry. So she should be happy. But there was always the nagging doubt that the data was incomplete.

But she could only work with what she had.

So, no Death Star currently being built based on what she had been able to decipher. But what about one being planned? So she did what protocol dictated. She gathered evidence the old-fashioned way. On the ground…

Despite her youth, she had many years of practice keeping her head down and her ears open, and she'd been doing both for a couple of hours now.

The bar was called Blakes, and the conversations taking place around her were quiet, respectful of the space and the other patrons both. She could catch bits and pieces, odd words that reached her, spoken in any smattering of the galaxy's languages. Some of them she knew well, others not at all. There was an Ithorian who had come in shortly after she had, now sitting at a table with a Dug and speaking animatedly, his voice a low bass rumble Nubica could feel in her chest; a Bith, a Neimoidian, and an Advosze, all apparently talking business they didn't want overheard; a Twi'lek male whispering sweet nothings in a Devaronian's ear.

And three humans, two male and one female, who'd arrived in the past half hour like they owned the place, were now seated maybe two meters from Nubica's back. They were already on their third round and getting loud. From her stool at the bar, she could see them clearly reflected in the mirror behind the bartender's shelves of liquors rare and common.

Objective: 3 - But get through the space battle first

Enemies: Pirates and TIEs

With Andanian's smuggling runs out of the way, the Alliance has finally decided to trust the imperial runaway with some new tasks. This time, he was flying out to Omwat to help clear out some pirates and gather some gear left behind on the surface from some criminals who decided to move out. A bit late to the party, Andanian's freighter jumped into the system to be met with cannonfire from pirate interceptors.

Jumping up from the seat in the cockpit in surprise, Andanian fetched the headset nearby to get in contact with the Alliance fighters that were supposedly around. "Bah! Uhh- Alliance fighters, you've got your landing party here trying to get to the surface of Omwat, you mind giving me a hand in getting these fighters off me before I get to the planet surface in more than one piece?!" he asked, though it was more panicked since he was yelling a bit louder than he would've liked. Of all the pilots, [member="Jareb Kaine"] would probably recognize the imperial accent that belonged to Andanian.

His rickety old freighter was durable, but it wasn't the most maneuverable starship in the fleet. He banked the freighter to port and tried chasing down some of the interceptors, but only managed to nick one with the cannons on his ship. He really could have used some fighter support.

He turned his vessel again, this time starboard, trying to make a break for the planet surface. However, another wing of pirates- Wait, no, those were TIEs? What the heck were TIE Fighters doing out here?! He quickly spoke back into his headset again, "I repeat, need fighter support! Lots of fighters around me!" the new TIE fighters started firing upon Andanian's shields, starting to weaken them as the pirate interceptors from the nearby carriers started to come back around to assist them.

What in the name of the Force are TIEs doing hanging around with pirates?! Is this the damn Empire I once wanted to fight for? Assisting criminals?! Who are the real terrorists here?

Cuan heard the call from Black Leader and double clicked his mic. Affirmative. They’d make the run at the carrier and Kaine would do his best to distract the frigate. “Keep your ass out of the fire, Lead.” Sure, a bit crude for the radio, but Kunn didn’t rightly care. He rolled his fighter to avoid a laser blast as he aligned his fighter that was his target. Looking over his shoulder, he nodded to Baller. Good, the little guy was hanging in there. The Sullustan turned back forward, moving his shields to front.

“Get as many as you can down, Chatterbox.” Yeah, he was calling her that now. Opening the throttle, he slammed forward, feeling the gravity hit him as he launched a salvo of concussion missiles. He was targeting the power generators, they’d break the magnetic containment field, and, hopefully, as a result, shut the doors to space, trapping fighters inside.

The missiles were moving, one getting shot down before it found purchase, but the second one exploding spectacularly. Flipping his ship, he pulled up, which was facing the planet, and away from the carrier. Baller was giving more data and Kunn nodded.

“Read you, transport. On my way.” He said, Baller already designating the TIEs in that direction as targets.

Objective 2

Even through lidded eyes, Jacen could see the cerulean hue of hyperspace. The viewing gallery of the Thranta class frigate was bathed in its glow. As he started to rouse his mind from the deep, meditative state his breathing became deeper. Slowly he blinked open his eyes and rolled his shoulders back. They would be arriving any moment; he needed no alarms to tell that.

The Force also heralded another arrival. He turned his head just as the door slid open and the iridonian healer stepped in. He bowed his head in a slow nod. “A’dele,” he said quietly. She didn’t like the casual use of first names as far as he was aware, but he felt less and less comfortable referring to her as ‘Master Adonai’. Jacen had been sitting cross-legged for nearly an hour on the hard floor and it took a few moments for the blood to get flowing again before he started to move.

“I often wondered what it was like on this end,” he said as he stood up and she walked into the centre of the room and took on her typical sieza position on the floor. “When I’m at the front end and I can feel you holding everyone together.”

The view snapped back to realspace and Jacen’s eye was caught by the light display directly ahead of them. So graceful from a distance, yet it would be carnage up close. “Be careful,” he warned quietly. “I sense the dark side at work here.”

Master Qorbin Fal turned his eyes to the sky. More Alliance ships had arrived. The stench of the light side was here. Little more than a year ago his Final Order had been the fledging empire of the region. Moving from world to world with abandon and taking what Omega had left behind. Yet his Alliance had formed in their midst. Their assault on Sullust should have been the end of them, but the stubborn, determined fools had held firm. That had been the start of the end for the Final Order, he knew now. Their determination had broken them on that wretched day.

Qorbin turned to the line of recruits they had selected, nodding to his adepts. “Hide them. We’ll wait this out. Signal the others to strike at the Alliance capital ships to buy us some times.”

"Understood Cuan," Poy said over the comlink, as she moved in for a second run. The cannons from the carrier opened fire on her once again and, as usual, she threw her X-Wing all over the sky. The Twi'lek lined up on the second catapult corridor and fired off a proton torpedo. It found its mark and that meant the carrier only had two serviceable ones left, and if Cuan did it right and they locked down the last two, this carrier was as good as dead. As she pulled up for another run in, she heard the strange accent on a Alliance combat frequency on the comlink. "Just tell me where you are and will come and get those fighters off your back," she replied to him.

A gaggle of three TIE/sa bombers broke away from the pirate fleet and tried to make a run for it, but Poy was onto them in a flash and sent them hurtling, in pieces, into deep space. "I did it!" she exclaimed loudly on the comlink for Cuan, Jareb and their newcomer to hear - she had just shot down ten aircraft in the space of two sorties, and along with her prior confirmed kills, put her up to fifteen and also admitted her into a rare club; those Galactic Alliance Navy pilot who had become an "Ace in a Day" twice. After calming down, and getting back to the job at hand, she scanned the battle to see whether she could spot the newcomer in trouble.

"Stranger, did you receive my last comlink transmission, over?" she called out to him, as she shot the wing off a TIE fighter and watched it spiralling out of control. She would claim that one as damaged, but she didn't mind - afterall, the Twi'lek was good at what she did. Still no reply, so she went back to helping with the attack on the carrier. "Sorry for vanishing Cuan, I just tried to see if I could spot that stranger who called us on the comlink; he has either managed to outrun them and is in Omwat proper, or he's still out there fighting," she lined back up on the pirate carrier and sent her cannon shells right into the vessel's bridge, watching as glass broke.

"You know Cuan, I have not had this much fun since I wiped out a company of Flametroopers with Black Dog Squadron a few years ago," it was these incidents that she recalled, but there were still ones that were buried deep inside her pysche that would never, hopefully, see the light of day. She shook the bad memories away - this was no time to dwell on the past. The glass separated from the bridge and she watched as several of the pirates in the carrier were sucked out into the vacuum of space. They flailed and struggled, but it was no use.

Post 2/20

TIEs and Pirate fighters alike began dissapearing off of Andanian's YU-410 light freighter's scanners. How many Alliance pilots are even out here? Just three? No wonder the Alliance was doing so well in space against the Empire when they had pilots like these in those extremely well-built X-Wings that won the Rebel Alliance their victory in their insurrection against the first Galactic Empire. A couple of TIEs were still pounding on Andanian's shields, but it was much less now. He banked and spun his bulky freighter to try and avoid as much fire as he could, but eventually, the X-Wings would start picking them off of him like frogs on flies. He really couldn't help but laugh, even if he felt guilty that these TIE Pilots could be friends of his from the Academy. "Thanks, Black Squadron! I'm making a break for Omwat now. I'll be sure to put in a good word for you all back home!"

With that, the YU-410's thrusters picked up, but were suddenly hit by a concussion missile, causing the freighter to spin out. "Augh! Blast it all!" Andanian yelled into his headset, trying to regain control. The source of the missile, another TIE Fighter with three more following close behind, closed in on the freighter and began to unload their green cannons into the starship, the iconic sound of a TIE Fighter's cannons echoing through space as the cannons slammed into the YU-410's hull.

Struggling to regain control of the joystick, the smuggler called out again, "Got more TIEs on me, Black Squadron, how about another hand?!"
