Kahlil nodded as he glanced over towards Valery. Good, they were at least on the same page.

"Exactly that, Loomi. Neither Valery or myself can really heal anyone. It's not an easy skill to use, or even learn. But if it's something you think you can help with, no matter how small, it'll save more lives than her and I can just through fighting."

"O-okay," Loomi nodded, trying to muster her confidence. "I'll try my best."

If they needed a healer then she would do what she could to assist. After all, she had really been making more problems than anything else for the two Jedi Masters up until this point. This was her chance to pull herself up by the straps of her non-existent boots and prove that she should be here.

"Please be careful," she added.

Valery offered a gentle smile and placed a comforting hand on Loomi's shoulder. "You can do it, Loomi, but don't push yourself too much, okay? Healing tends to be very demanding, so don't go too far." She was clearly a bit worries that the pressure would otherwise make Loomi go beyond her comfort zone, but that wasn't necessary.

This entire conflict wasn't going to be lost if she got too tired to heal more people.

"We have some people in need of good medical care," the older local then said. "I can bring you to them while the two Masters push up to the front and work out the next plan of attack?"

"Good luck, Loomi," Valery said with a soft smile before nodding to Kahlil. Together, the two Jedi Masters moved up to the front of the base, where others had gathered with their weapons and gear. A holo-map of the enemy's position was displayed, showing their almost circular base of operations. Highlighted in red, the map showed known enemy positions and one thing became rather clear just at a first glace.

"As you can see, their flanks are far too weak to hold a position this big. We suspect they sustained far more casualties than expected because of our Jedi friends," the older man began with a dip of his head for Valery and Kahlil. "They don't have Basilisk War droids anymore either to quickly shift around troops, so if we hit them there, we can encircle their defenses at the front."

"There is one problem, however. Reaching the flanks without being seen is not easy, so we either need to split up or forces and hit everything at once, or we need a distraction."

...
Meanwhile, Loomi had been guided to a small building within the camp. Inside, patients were held on a combination of proper medical beds, as well as makeshift beds that had to be set up to accommodate the number of wounded. Some were in worse conditions than others, but none were beyond saving.

"We don't know how much you can do with your abilities, so just help out where you can, alright?" A female nurse asked with a very comforting tone of voice. "The most severe injury we have is a neck injury from a soldier who lost a lot of blood as well. But we have several with burns or minor cuts and bruises too."

Unbeknownst to Loomi and anybody in the camp, the lack of a Mandalorian flank wasn't entirely due to losses — a small group of warriors had moved around, and were slowly sneaking up to the camp from behind.

Trouble was coming.

Kahlil_Div2.png

Not being seen, huh? Kahlil glanced briefly to Valery before back towards Loomi was. Something still felt off for him. He frowned just a little before letting out a sigh and reaching out to ruffle Valery's hair. "You're the Shadow. I'm going to stick with the Padawan, just in case." Something still felt off. And, well, he knew better than most the ideal way to fight against a Jedi. Target the weak and helpless.

"Don't have too much fun without me, mm?"

"The most severe injury we have is a neck injury from a soldier who lost a lot of blood as well. But we have several with burns or minor cuts and bruises too."

"R-right," Loomi nodded. "L-let me see what I can do."

She approached the man and frowned. The laceration to his neck was indeed very gruesome, spilling a great deal of blood. At this rate he'd surely bleed out in the next ten minutes or so. After a moment of hesitation, mostly out of fear of damaging the man, Loomi got to work, drawing threads from the force and lacing them through. One by one, the padawan meticulously sewed the injury shut, so tight that one could almost not even see the wound. Now bound up with the force, the soldier would at the very least begin to heal.

"G-get him an IV, please!" she requested, urgent but still polite. "H-he won't be losing any more, but he needs more blood in his system."

She froze, a shiver going down her spine. Her antennae flattened as she felt her hair stand on end with anticipation. They were in danger. Something was very quickly approaching the medical tent. She could feel their vibrations with her naturally enhanced tracking ability.

"W-we're in danger!" the Godoan relayed. "Someone is coming."

"Wait-"

Valery grabbed his hand and tugged on it to make him stop, then pushed herself up on her tip toes to quickly kiss his cheek. "Can't let you go without one," she said with a warm smile. Much like him, Valery felt the lingering tension that surrounded the base, so it was a good idea for him to stay back. It was a chance for him to really make sure that Loomi wasn't going to be threatened, and she knew how important it was to him.

It was important to her, too.

"I'll handle the Mandalorians and see you soon, love."

...
"Amazing..." a nurse muttered after watching Loomi use, to her, invisible threads to close the wound up. The man went from having an injury that was likely lethal to being stabilized in seconds, and all because of one kid and her Force abilities. Maybe the Jedi really weren't so bad after all.

"We'll handle it, thank you!" she then said before rushing off to get the IV. But the sound of Loomi's voice moments later drew the attention of nurses back to her.

Someone was coming?

Kahlil would feel it too now — a small group of warriors had entered the base from behind, and while three of them were just moving down the little streets, one broke off and headed straight for the medical bay. That's where most people were, and where he believed he could gain an advantage.

Kahlil_Div2.png

So that's their plan.

Kahlil let out a sigh as the feelings he felt through the Force further confirmed why he'd been feeling off about this whole thing. The Mandalorians were aiming to clear them out from behind. Whether or not they were targeting the medical crew Kahlil didn't care or think much about it. All that really mattered was he got back as quick as he could. Not that he could be too fast. He long learned how to anchor points for him to easily quick travel to.

This wasn't one of those places. Loomi was going to have to survive until he got there.

Loomi got to work quickly, ushering the staff and the patients to the wall on either side of the entrance. There was one individual coming, one which she could feel in the force. The echoes of footsteps rippled out, giving away their location. The Godoan immediately began to weave, making a net that was near invisible to the naked eye before handing it off to one of the nurses that was positioned on the other side of the door.

"Stay quiet," Loomi muttered.

They'd ambush the invader, tie him up, and then she'd do what she could to incapacitate the man. With the net in front of the doorway, all they had to do was wait.

And hope things didn't get worse.

With a vibro-dagger already drawn into his hand, the Mandalorian warrior slowly approached the medical building. He knew that most of the locals had armed themselves to go fight the defending Mandalorians, but he was still expecting a guard of some kind. So as he entered through the doorway, he sped up his movements, expecting to find people inside he could rush to attack.

Instead, he found himself running right into a net or web of some kind, which sparked him to stab around with his blade in panic to try and get free. He wasn't going to allow himself to get captured.

"Show yourself and face me, you cowards!"

As this happened, the other handful Mandalorians decided to move as well. Their jetpacks ignited and three warriors blasted up above the streets to spot targets down below. They had expected weaker locals left behind to rest, or at least stay out of battle, but instead they spotted a familiar Jedi Master.

"Jedi down below, open up!" Two of the three Mandalorians opened fire immediately, while the third launched a wrist-mounted rocket straight down for Kahlil.

Kahlil_Div2.png

Rockets, huh?

Kahlil didn't even need to look up to know they were coming his way. The sound they made was familiar enough. He raised a hand then, pulling on the cords of the Force to tether them and change their direction. Right back at the Mandalorians who launched them. Then ignited his blade in a blaze of emerald as he stared up in their direction. "It'd be demoralizing to have their wounded butchered, right? Cowardly, but effective. I had a feeling you might try something. At least now you have someone to truly test your honor against, mm?"

Was he goading them? Absolutely. The best way he could keep the others safe right now was to keep all their attention on him. And deal with them quickly so he wasn't leaving Loomi alone.

Loomi wasn't surprised by the extension of a blade, though she did flinch a little. Fortunately her net wasn't going to give so easily. After all, one couldn't simply cut the force with a knife. She got to work, quickly wrapping the weave around the back and meticulously stitching it together with haste. Then, with assistance from a thread she had woven to the ceiling like a pully, the Godoan hoisted the now ensnared Mandalorian into the air, like an insect writhing in a spider's web, an action that had flipped them upside-down. That was where Loomi's similarities to spiders ended, however. She was ultimately not going to attack an incapacitated opponent, but how was she supposed to knock him out to prevent the use of any more weapons?

The answer became clear in an instant.

"Uh," Loomi began nervously, "Please go to sleep."

And with that she promptly untethered the man from the ceiling to drop him on his head. It was not a fall that was enough to be lethal, but it was enough to knock the Mandalorian out.

She hoped.

"Oh chit-"

A deafening explosion wiped out two of the three Mandalorians up in the air, and left the third one to stare down the Jedi Master. He wasn't afraid, as his own pride made him feel invulnerable to the Jedi threat he had dreamed of facing, but he was still cautious. Anger flooded his system as a result of the deaths of his brothers, but he knew better than to rush in and strike with mindless aggression.

"Once I kill you, we'll handle the others." Besides the one who had entered the medical bay, two others were moving in as well behind the commander hovering in front of him. Kahlil would have to get through him fast, or else risk Loomi being attacked by several more of them.

Luckily, the Mandalorian didn't wait any longer either, and accelerated with a burst of speed towards the Jedi Master. Still a few inches above the ground, a blade slipped from his wrist guard, and he used it to lash out at Kahlil's face to cut him wide open.

...
"Once I get out of here, I'll gut you," the Mandalorian said while Loomi continued to weave the threads of Force energy around him, ensnaring him completely until he was being lifted off the ground. The embarrassment of this, the fact a child had outsmarted him, angered the Mandalorian warrior immensely.

But there was nothing he could do.

Once the tether broke and he fell down, all the added weight from his armor worked against him, and he was out cold on impact. But while this thread was handled, two others were slowly approaching after they had passed through one of the other buildings on base.

Kahlil would have to act quick.

Kahlil_Div2.png

"You won't."

Kahlil lowered his hand, and with it, the Force followed in suit. Charging in wasn't the brightest choice for the Mandalorian. Pride, perhaps, but the Jedi wasn't here to applaud or treat his choice. Instead he just crushed the weight down with all his might in the Force to outright obliterate the Mandalorian. Beskar could protect against much, but their suits weren't fully beskar. He'd crush every single point of it into the ground.

"I hope you found honor in your fight, for whatever it's worth."

He stepped pass, bringing his lightsaber through the back of the Mandalorian's neck to sever his head. There was no time to waste as he rushed ahead. There were more. And Loomi was alone.

There were more coming. Loomi was quick to act, bringing down the blast door and quickly weaving it shut before turning back to the rest of the civilians.

"G-go!" She told them. "Take the back exit. I'll stall them."

Was that stupid? Absolutely, but it was really the only course of action that she saw to save these people's lives. As they did so, making their way towards a secondary emergency exit, Loomi drew her sword and prepared to face what she assumed was going to be way more Mandalorians than she could handle.

And that was okay. At least more people would live.

After being forced against the ground, the Mandalorian listened to Kahlil but remained quiet and accepted his defeat. He had been too prideful and too quick to jump into action, and now he paid the ultimate price for it. With a sweep of the Jedi Master's blade, his mind shifted into darkness and Kahlil was left to catch up with the other Mandalorian warriors, who were slowly approaching the medical center.

They had already gone through the supply storage, and now they were thirsty for blood.

"Come on out, we know you're in there," one of them spoke up as they approached the barricaded building.

"If you surrender, we will not harm you," the other tried to assure the Godoan and people hiding inside, but his voice wasn't entirely sincere.

"Don't make us come in there."

Kahlil_Div2.png

"You're better than huffing and puffing like some big bad wolf."

Kahlil stepped up behind the Mandalorians, his blade still burning in his grasp. He glanced to them, then to the door they were trying to blow down before he smiled. Loomi.

"You should have more faith in yourself, Padawan. You can't teach bravery. But you're alone there, aren't you? Trying to keep people safe. I can't say I approve of using yourself as a sacrifice, though. That's for the old people like me to do." He raised his blade, lowered carefully into the form of Soresu.

"Not that anyone else is dying today. Stay in there. I'll deal with these two."

Valery Noble Valery Noble | Loomi Loomi

"We will not harm you," they said.

Loomi knew better. These were bad men. Those kinds of people did not spare anyone. But their voices was quickly followed by Kahlil's, and a sigh of relief escaped her system. She wasn't alone, at least. He was right about her trying to sacrifice herself, but that was sort of an odd thing. Shouldn't they be prioritizing the lives of civilians first?

But then again, who else could she help if she was dead. Maybe she was going about all of this wrong. Still, she didn't want to let Kahlil fight alone, even if that was the reasonable thing to do. Nobody should fight alone.

Whenever Kahlil very much had the attention of the Mandalorians the blast door would open, the body of their unconscious comrade flying out at them at full force. Loomi had managed to activate their jet pack, and they were very much careening towards the other two Mandalorians.

She wasn't staying out of the way. Not this time.
