On the Run (Siobhan)

"Thank you, Siobhan." Laina said softly and waited with Mei-Ling. She glanced back and frowned a little. "I honestly, have no idea how I'll manage with that. It's so strange walking into a place and getting what I actually want, not what I can afford. And fancy stuff, expensive clothes, yeah .... Going to take some getting used to for sure."

After Sio was done paying, Laina walked over to her. "So what shall we do now?" Perhaps a time skip was in order. In that case this writer might have to find an adorable picture of an infant for our Laina.

Before Laina went off, Mei-Ling had another helpful tip for her. "If it gets too much, it's best to distract her. Tell her how great she looks. Or just grab her arse and kiss her. She'll forget whatever hobby horse she was riding." This was a useful lesson most members of Sio's household learned pretty early.

Anyhow, Siobhan was done paying and she grinned at Laina. "I think we've done enough shopping. So let's go home, get something to eat and...have fun," she winked at Laina and fondly ran her hand over her belly before pulling her into a deep, passionate kiss. Mei-Ling pouted since she was left out before Siobhan kissed her as well.

Laina just shook her head at the suggestion. That was easy enough to manage, and it would keep her from getting too overwhelmed by gifts from the lovely Countess. "That I can do."

Laina flashed Siobhan a bright smile. "I agree. Home and fun sounds so ... lovely and relaxing right now." The amazon purred softly as Sio ran her hand over her swollen belly. The kiss she was quick to return. And once she was done kissing Mei-Ling, Laina entangled her fingers with Sio's and tugged her in the direction of the apartment on the Skyport. "I just want to get off my feet. Carrying around a little one, certainly doesn't do the ankles any good." Her swollen aching feet could no doubt use a massage once they got back home.

"You'll get a massage and be thoroughly pampered when we're back home," Siobhan promised Laina. Most of the thread seemed to consist of her fawning over the Amazon and seeing to her needs, but the aristocrat did not seem to mind. After all, she was very giving. "I can carry you the way back," she added, after thinking for a moment, and then by the power of space magic Laina was suddenly levitated in the air, in order to spare her poor ankles and feet further aches. Soon they would be arriving at the Kerrigan suite, though it was a bit of a walk there. Presumably much of that would be time skipped since it's not very interesting to write!

"Mmm, a massage sounds delightful. Just what I need." Laina certainly couldn't complain about the attention and pampering. It had been a long while since she had anything close to this. And at this point it was more than needed with the kind of stress and weight that was on her shoulders.

"Carry me? Are you sure? I mean after all with the little one as well I'm not exactly the lightest thing around." Laina gave a slight startled squeal as she was scooped up by the force. It took her a second to realize what happened before she finally could relax into it. It was an odd feeling, being held and supported by an invisible hand. "Now this I could get used to..." She finally said as they arrived at the apartment.

"I'd say you're really gallant, boss. But it doesn't count if you use space magic," Mei-Ling snarked because it was the job of every one of Sio's minions to troll her! At least sometimes it felt like that to the Countess.

"It totally counts," Siobhan insisted. After all, it took effort to safely levitate someone the whole way back to the suite. Anyhow, they finally arrived at the apartment and were soon inside. A maiden was there to unpack their bags, while Laina was carried back to the bedroom.

"Lay down, darling," Siobhan instructed as the amazon was laid down on the bed and was quickly liberated of her shoes. Crawling on top of the bed, Siobhan raised the woman's shirt slightly and began stroking across her belly. "Hey, Morri, your mum and I bought you an awesome crib and lots of nice clothes. We love you lots," she said cheerfully, before planting a kiss on it. Soon, however, her hand was replaced by Mei-Ling's while Siobhan moved down and turned her attention towards massaging Laina's swollen feet. After all, she was good with her fingers.

"Gallant or not, it's just the thing I need." Laina chimed in. "Making a brand new human is hard work after all, and certainly makes my body ache."

Once inside the suite, Laina laid down and sighed softly as her shoes were pulled away. She smiled warmly as Siobhan lifted her shirt a little. Lightly she rested a hand on her belly, thinking about her little one for a moment. "You've finally got a safe place little one, where you are loved and have nothing to worry about. No more running my little one. No more running." She said softly sounding so relieved and relaxed. Safety and security were luxuries she did not have until Siobhan came into her life.

With Siobhan moving down to her feet, and Mei-ling attending to her belly Laina was soon purring softly, seemingly so happy. "Mmmm, such nimble fingers. Perhaps, I should put you to work doing other things..." The Amazon said with a wink and a mischievous grin.

"Other things, huh? I'm totally down for that," Siobhan purred, pleasure and contement evident in her tone while she worked her magic over Laina's feet. First Mei-Ling kissed the Amazon Mama Bear, then Siobhan, as the beautiful amazon found herself sandwiched between both ladies. And then, well, I guess you can imagine what presumably happened. Alas, the kiddies could not be allowed to watch, so there was a fade to black curtain.

And of course the great black curtain of obscuring descended. When we returned to our lovely ladies, four months would have past. A very obviously pregnant Laina rested on the couch. She'd long reached the point where her belly prevented her from even seeing her feet. Any day now, little Morrigan would be joining the galaxy. A soft sigh fell from her lips as her little girl actively kicked within her, seemingly making a game of kicking at Laina's lungs. "Little fighter she is." She grumbled a little moodily. At this point, she was just ready to have the little girl, and end the pains that came with carrying an infant within.

The scene faded to black, then there was a time skip. When it was lifted, Kaeshana had been destroyed, our heroines had moved across the galaxy to a lovely place called Tygara. Oh, and Siobhan had not lost limbs.

Yes, that's very surprising. Anyhow, any day now the little bundle of joy would be joining the galaxy. Alas, until then little Morri would be giving her mother a very hard time. Fortunately, Eileithya was there to use space magic to try and soothe the pain a bit, along with use empathy to calm the baby down slightly. Alas, she could not get rid of the growing pains, but make things a bit less arduous for Laina.

"I can tell she'll be more than a handful when she is born. Siobhan, please don't give her big guns and teach her how to drop roofs," she joked, because someone needed to do the trolling.

Laina sighed softly, a little more contently with Eileithya now at her side. The healer certainly was a comfort these days. Especially when Laina loathed traditional doctors and hospitals. She was much more relaxed with more natural methods.

"Honestly, if she's half as wild as I was as a child, Morrigan will be more than a handful." The Amazon did chuckle at the trolling of Siobhan, a time honored tradition by this point. "No, no big guns. Or roof droppin. Not yet at least! She has to learn how to use her mind and body before we can consider such things. Now when she's older, entirely not out of the question." She said with a bright grin, trolling mostly. Though she had at least thought a little about the future with her girl. "I just want her to get here already. The whole playing punching bag with my internal organs is getting rather unpleasant, and old."

There was an axiety starting to build within her little girl and Laina could sense it. In turn, making her a little anxious. Though, Morri had seemed to at least be wiggling less and calmer in other ways. It seemed it was getting extremely close to that moment, at least that was what Laina had hoped. After all, she was more than ready to meet her little bundle of joy.

Siobhan, who standing there watching the two, looked just a bit anxious. Partially because she was a bit out of a depth. "How long till Morri is born, Eileithya?" she asked.

Turning slightly, though she kept up her ministrations as she willed her Sciia to let its energies flow from her to Laina, Eileithya rolled her eyes just slightly. "How long? Sio, dear, this is not an exact, mechanical science. Nor can you name a date and set a time for when the bundle of joy will be born. At this point in her pregnancy, Laina could go into labour any day." Or in the next ten minutes.

Siobhan held up her hands. "Ok, ok. Just worried, dear. I'll go get you some tea, Laina." Atrisian green tea was best.

Laina chuckled slightly at Siobhan's question and once more shifted herself a little bit on the couch. "Babies have their own sense of timing, Sio. Usually timing things when we least want them or whenever is the most impractical." At least that had been her own experience around other women of her tribe.

"Tea sounds great." Laina said with a bright smile. For the moment, she was fine and content. Though, that would not last forever. It wasn't long before a wave of pain rolled across her belly. This one actually got Laina's attention, as she grimaced and shifted again on the couch. Now the Amazon seemed genuinely concerned, and more than a fair bit nervous. It was one thing to watch other women go through labor. It was another thing to be going through it yourself, and for the first time. "I don't think it's going to be much longer." She finally said as another contraction came. Though there would still be a bit of time, and a whole lot of pain before the little munchkin finally arrived.

No sooner had Siobhan returned with a steaming cup of tea, than Laina was hit by a tidal wave of pain. Quickly putting the cup down, she rushed towards the Amazon, concern evident on her features. "Laina, are you ok?" Perhaps a silly question, but she was worried and a bit at a loss of what to do.

Quickly she wrapped her arms around the woman, trying to soothe her. "Should we take you to...," she'd almost said 'hospital', then remembered how much Laina disliked them, so she glanced over to Eileithya, "could we take her to your healing house?" she amended. After all, it was a temple, not a hospital!

"That would be for the best. Can you lift her? Be gentle."

Laina squirmed uncomfortably on the couch as Siobhan returned. "Yes, and no. I'm fine, the kiddo's fine. Just probably the start of early labor." The Amazon laid her head against Siobhan as the redhead tried to soothe her. Right now she was calm, things were slow for the moment. Who knew how she'd feel in just an hour or two.

She gave a small nod, "The healing house, sounds good." The last place Laina wanted to be was the hospital, with all the machines, the doctors and such. "I can walk, if needs be. It's not like I've exactly gotten any slimmer since the last time you carried me, Sio." Already Laina was scooting to the edge of the couch, to try and stand.

Right, no hospitals. Siobhan could deal with that. "Hey, you don't need to walk, darling. I'll just lift you," she declared and then decided to cheat by gently lifting Laina into the air via space magic. "Don't worry. I'll never let you fall." An invisible hand wrapped around Laina, though the grip was kept loose enough to ensure she would not feel any discomfort, since she was already suffering from enough pain.

With Laina thus levitated Siobhan quickly headed to the door along with Eileithya. Soon they had exited the suite and, after spending some time making their way through the Skyport, had reached the healing house. The place had a strong Sciia presence. Soothing and calmning Sciiac energies would radiate from it as they entered and quickly headed towards one of the many rooms for patients.

Laina nodded. "As long as you don't mind..." It did take a moment or two as she was lifted to relax into Siobhan's gentle invisible grip. Her contractions were getting more intense, and painful. Though she did her best to not let it show too much.

The Amazon at this point was glad to be carried as they moved through the Skyport to the healing house. The force energies she felt as they crossed the threshold almost reminded her of home. So soothing and calming to the woman. Finally coming into the patient's room, Laina waited for Sio to set her down on the bed, to get comfortable. After all she was going to have to at least get out of some of her clothing. Pant would only get in the way. Though not to fear dear reader, blankets and sheets would keep everything that a kiddie shouldn't see covered.

She gently ran a hand over her belly, "Just a little longer Morrigan and we'll get to meet. Just a little longer." It was hard to tell if Laina was saying this more to soothe her little one or to soothe herself. As each moment passed it was getting tougher to push away the anxieties and fears she held about giving birth and how things were about to change.

And so with some help from Siobhan, Eileithya liberated Laina of her clothing. Have no fear, kiddies, Bible-thumpers and censors, blankets and sheets would still keep everything covered. Heaven forbid if even a nipple be exposed when little Morrigan was born. Oh, wait, her mother would presumably breast-feed! Silly Americans.

Anyhow, Eileithya sat down on a chair next to her bedside. In the holovids birth tended to happen a few minutes after a woman went into labour. Needless to say this was very unrealistic. She had sanitised her arms and hands, scrubbing her arms all the way up to her elbows. Cleanliness was very important, after all.

Clean towels, blankets and sheets had been prepared. A birth was always messy and after delivery the baby would need a warm blanket to be wrapped up in. Siobhan was fetching a clean bowl with warm watter, scissors and other essentials. Along with a bucket in case Laina felt nauseated or needed to vomit.

Meanwhile, the Priestess ran a gentle hand across Laina's belly down towards her swollen legs. The contractions would become stronger and more frequent. First time mothers were likely to give birth once contractions were three to five minutes apart. If this all sounds like this writer consulted a guide, then that's correct. A comfy, fluffy pillow was placed under Laina's head to prop her up a bit. "Be calm, dear. Be strong. Breathe - inhale through your nose and out through your mouth, but slowly." The Priestess spoke in a low, soothing tone to avoid the risk of Laina hyperventilating. "You're doing amazing. Little Morri will be here soon."

Silly prudish Americans!

Laina glanced a little nervously between Siobhan and Elieithya, watching as they gathered the needed supplies for the hours to come. Unfortunately for her she knew it would be a while longer before her little one actually arrived. Holovids had it all wrong. Birth was never a quick process that happened in just a few short minutes.

With a anxious sigh, Laina pulled the blanket up tightly around her. Laina gasped and squirmed as the next hardcontraction came. Once it passed she flopped her head down on the pillow. "I am not ready for this." Laina whispered quietly. Giving a quick nod, she listened to the Priestess' words and followed the instructions being careful to keep her breathing slow, and steady for the moment. A part of her wished greatly to be back with her tribe and what she knew as family. To be in familiar surroundings when she gave birth, but that wasn't an option. Events were already in motion and little Morrigan would be coming very soon now.

The realities of being a mother were fast dawning on her, and well she felt like a fish out of water, more than uncertain about what was to come. "I'm just ... worried." She paused and took a deep breath again, letting another wave of pain wash over her. "Scared." Laina finally whispered, though that was no easy admission for her. Laina had always been strong and powerful, to admit fear was an extremely rare event.

In response Eileithya gave the amazon a compassionate smile and pulled her into a gentle embrace, though she kept it loose since she was mindful of accidentally hurting the woman. "It's natural to be worried. Same with being afraid. There cannot be courage without it. It just shows that you love her. But Morrigan will be fine. You'll soon be holding a lovely, healthy baby in your hands. I prayed to the Goddess for you." One hand reached up to gently caress Laina's cheek.

In the meantime, Siobhan had returned into the item after fetching the items, such as a bucket in case Laina was feeling nauseous. Putting it down next to the bed, she approached the soon-to-be mother. "Believe me, it'll be ok, Laina. And once Morri is born, I'll support both of you in any way I can." Including getting Laina a cute, little babysitter...
