On to Ossus

There was a small distance between them and the opening of the chams did not effect Ra though the ground was shaking around her. They weren't close enough to touch, but Ra reaches Flinx before the ground swallows him. Grabbing a hold of one of his wrists, she tries to keep him from falling.

He is much larger and heavier than Ra is so she has some difficulty holding onto him. Eventually the quake ends and the library is as it was when they arrived. The day on Ossus having passed quickly and their time up.

Hoping her friend has something to stand on under him, she blindly reaches in her bag to look for something with which to pull him out of the chasm that formed under him. Being resourceful, Ra had brought some rope. She fed the line to Flinx, hoping he could reach it with his other hand before she lost her hold on his wrist.

"You're getting heavy and I don't know how much longer I can hold you. Do you have someplace you can support yourself? Even if it's a little further down, I'll get you out of there."

She spoke this, laying on the ground, her face off to the side so she wasn't eating the dust under her.

"Ra, I dont see anything." Flinx new it was time. "Ra, you need to let go." Flinx threw his bag up with the holocrons. "Take care of those." Flinx could feel her grip slipping. "Trust in the force. And Ra, that feeling you had for your old captain, and that feeling you have for me,..... that's love dear." I feel your grip slip and I smile as I fall back.

Of course he can't SEE what's under him, Ra said to herself mentally as her grip weakened on her friend's wrist. Making a fast motion, he threw his own collection back up to her, it landed off to the side, but she would gather it up once she had pulled Flinx to safety. Just the motion of him throwing the bag up though, fully made her grip weaken to the point he fell. Ra scrambles to the edge of the chasm, not seeing a sight of her companion.

For just a moment, Ra sat there, not crying too stunned to do that yet, thought about he had said. That what she felt for her captain and for him was love. Shaking her head slightly and thinking maybe even speaking out loud, "no way. Love isn't meant for me."

She quickly gathered her wits and went about trying to find something to secure herself on as she tied the rope around her hips. Seeing a lone pillar standing, Ra walked over to it, checking on its stability and making sure it would support her on the way down and both of them on the way up. Finding it adequate for the purpose, she tied the rope around that and went back to the chasm separating her from Flinx.

Placing her feet on the edge and holding the rope firmly, Ra started a slow descent into the chasm. The dust hadn't settled yet and filled the air with its motes. She couldn't see far in the murk and it was quite dim when she reached the bottom finally. Ra searched the area where he had fallen, clearly seeing the sight of his impact, but his body wasn't there and it was too dim to see where he had gone to.

The bottom was sloped greatly and it led to an even darker area that Ra just could not get to. Her rope wasn't long enough. Seeing the ground isn't going to fall out from under her as well, Ra walked over to the edge of that second chasm.

"Flinx, are you there? Can you hear me?"

If her voice could have echoed in the dust, it would have. Emptiness surrounded her, no sign of her friend or any other life. Knowing her search was at this point going to be a futile effort, she gathered the rope up and slowly made her way back to the surface. She sadly gathered up her and Flinx's belongings and stonefaced, keeping her emotions locked up, headed back to her ship.

There was a slim chance he survived the fall, but Ra felt it best to inform BB-3 of what happened. She walked over to Flinx's ship and BB-3 opened it for her. Walking up the ramp, the little droid was looking at her and in the distance for Flinx to be coming. When he didn't see his master, he let out a forlorn whistle.

"BB-3, I looked for him, but couldn't find him. I'm sure he's okay. He picked these up while we were in", she held up the bag he had thrown at her. "He asked me to keep them, so I will even if I feel they should be here waiting for him."

Quietly she sat down on the ramp of Flinx's ship and comforted the little droid for a few minutes. Just the act also made her feel a little better. She stood up soon after.

"Wait for him here, I know he'll return."

With that parting comment, Ra walked off and headed to her own ship. She took with her, her bag she gathered as well as Flinx's. His she put with her broken lightsaber hilt in her closet to be returned to him when she found him again. However, this little side trip was over to her and she took off of Ossus. Her mind filled sorrow and missing her friend. She needed credits though and had a job lined up that should pay off well.

Darkness, Flinx floated In darkness. He had lost everything before, but nothing hurt as bad as the look on Ra's face as he fell he felt their bond stretch near to snapping and it caused him physical pain. All of a sudden A sharp blinding pain rung out behind his head.


Flinx woke up at the base of a deep cavern, dark and alone. He hurt but his Physical hurt was far outweighed by he hurt of his heart. Now he needed to put all that aside, no that's wrong, he hadn't lost her yet. He needed to go to her. He needed to hold her. He needed to help her find her heart. No he had to get out of this smelly pit, NOW! he took out his light sabers and stabbing the rock and hauls himself back to the surface.

That effort had drained Flinx, he staggered out to his ship. bb-3 sees him from afar and with a shriek of joy, rolls out at top speed and tackles Flinx beeping and whistling and telling Flinx that Ra Had just up and left. Flinx nodded an felt out and just lightly touched her mind hopping she would get the hint. He was coming and he will not stop trying to help her.
