On Top of The World

“You both triggered the response when you passed the blood test.” The voice murmured as his eyes locked on to Allyson again before turning to look at the frying pan. “You might want to turn that off before it burns.”

“The girl, Kaili, would like that. She is safe, unharmed but overwhelmed. We assure you, we are not looking to cause any unwarranted damage to her mind.” The why of it was left unanswered, for now, as the blonde girl before them continued to well up in terror, joy and confusion.

“The Gulag Plague, the Great Disappearance… So much has changed since last.”

Meanwhile, within the confines of her own mind, Kaili was being force fed image after image after image in a manner that she had only experienced once before, unknowingly. Rave Merrill. Something was happening and the girl wasn’t quite sure what it was. She saw images of people dying, collapsing in the streets and cities being laid to waste. She saw great planes of a hell few ever returned from, she saw strife and death in droves and the total collapse of civilization. A people shaped from it that came together and the efforts they put in to reclaiming what they had lost. Isolationists by cause of immense misfortune and then…

Images of Allyson and herself.

Kaili struggled to breathe, so to speak, before finally finding the words to speak for herself.

“Stop! Just. STOP!” The words echoed through her mind. A clear cut shape of the very same man that had spoken to Allyson materialize before the Borleian’s eyes. “Please, just… Stop!”

“As you wish.” The man nodded and the images stopped.

Her temper was flaring again.

“I am Kaili, who the hell are you?”

“You may call me Undrar.” The man responded. “I am a peacekeeper.”

“Like feth you are.” Kaili growled.

“We understand that you are upset-” The man tried to calm her down.

“Like feth you do.” Kaili cut him off.

“There is no need-” He tried again.

“Feth you.” Kaili cut him off, again.

The man recoiled, blinked for a moment. “Perhaps we misjudged our approach.”

“No fething drek?” She blurted.

“You sure do like that word.” The man deadpanned.

“Feth you.” Kaili responded, fire in her eyes.

“And you have a temper to match.” A grin spread on his lips.

“Feth. You.” Kaili retorted, again.

“I can take the hint.”

“Wha-...”

The man faded into nothing, the world dropped from her mind and slipped back into reality. Tense muscles softened, a body slumped towards the edge of the counter with a panicking pair of hands reaching up to catch it before it was too late. The fall was softened, yet Kaili landed with her back to the ground regardless. Her entire body ached. She cursed beneath her breath as she struggled to get back up again.

“Your partner thinks very highly of you, Allyson Locke.” The man uttered before Kaili’s eyelids closed. “Far more than she lets on at times.”

“Given time, she won’t be the only one.” The man remained as cryptic as ever.

Allyson stood frozen as this being spoke to her. Something about a blood test and as he mentioned it, she looked down trying to figure out when and how this thing did a blood test. Her nose twitched while whatever was happening to Kaili continued. Allyson could feel the girl’s emotions fluctuate. She didn’t know what to do beyond turning off the eggs, they didn’t need to burn those again. With the eggs off, all the half dressed Corellian could do was wait and see what was going on. She chewed at her thumb waiting and hoping that the feelings she was getting from Kaili didn’t mean something terrible was happening.

Seeing that whatever was going on was coming to a close, she saw Kaili’s body slump. Frantically, she attempted to catch her, but in the end they ended up on the floor and Kaili’s heavy frame thudded softly against the kitchen floor. Before she could try and get answers out of the blonde, the figure showed up again and spoke. Allyson blinked quickly and attempted to question the mystery and cryptic nature of his words, but he was gone before she could even say ‘What the FETH’.

Everything had started to calm down, Allyson didn’t feel her heart threatening to beat out of her chest and Kaili seemed to be safe for the most part. A gentle hand cupped the young Talith’s cheek and patted softly hoping to wake her up. Allyson was in no position to carry the girl to the medical facility, so if the gentle waking didn’t work - next would come the cold water.

“Kaili, come on Kaili wake up...baby...please wake up.”
Allyson continued with the gentle pats, but she worried water might have to be the thing to do it. If Kaili didn’t wake up from the gentleness, Ally would eventually get the water to wake her up.

There were some residual moments of fragmented visuals flashing behind the eyelids of the blonde mechanist’s mind. Landscapes that faded rather than flashed, numbers that burned onto the edges of her subconscious mind. Had Allyson tried to pry her eyelids open she would find something most accurately described as rapid eye movement as the orange hues darted from one side to another in an unpredictable pattern. Her chest rose and sunk in a slower tempo and her heart was slowing down. The visual stimuli of the world was gone, but the hearing was not and neither was the force. Kaili both heard and felt it as Allyson tried to shake her awake. It was in many ways like being stuck in a nightmare. The kinds that only happened in the holo flicks, only this one felt far too real. Tamer for each second that passed, but real.

“We do apologize for the arbitrary disposition,” The man’s voice echoed again for both of them to hear. “What you are experiencing is the panic of a whole people, compressed into a single moment and embedded within your mind. Forty years of searching for the right person and it wasn’t until now that we knew for certain.”

“A few years ago there was a man who left an R2-unit on your doorstep without ever retrieving it.”

“I implore you. Place my unit within the memory slot and I will try to make this entire simulation make a little more sense to you. To the both of you.”

The voice went quiet on Allyson’s end. Not so much on Kaili’s.

“Until then, well,” An image of Allyson getting the cold water ready flashed before Kaili. “Ready yourself.”

So there is more to the story, but Allyson needed Kaili awake before any of this could continue and they could make sense of it all. Also because Allyson was worried about Kaili - she had never acted this way and Allyson had never seen anything like this before. There was a lot of worry and fear rushing through her, maybe she cared a lot more about Kaili than she let the girl know. Funny how things like that worked out. Propping the blonde against the counter spaces down near the sink, Allyson made her way to find some water to splash on her to wake her up.

There was a bit of a frantic search as she found small bowls and decided they weren’t large enough. Finding a decent bowl, she filled it with the most water she could. She flicked water on the girl’s face than realizing that it wouldn’t work, she flicked the bowl over Kaili’s head and let the cold water just splash all over her.

“Kaili?” [member="Kaili Talith"]

It was like slipping through a tunnel and coming out on the other end in a freefall. Kaili sat up straight and gasped for air as if launched from a springboard. She heaved for air, felt each fiber of her being scream in joy as a strong influx of oxygen filled her lungs with life. Wet arms and chest wrapped themselves tight around Allyson in a choking hug as her shoulder would seem to dig deeper and deeper into the woman’s throat. It wasn’t intentional, but the brief moments of fear had left its mark and Kaili needed something real to keep herself grounded. The shoulder that dug into the Corellian’s throat eventually eased up but the hold remained.

Kaili didn’t say a thing. Cold snivels and deep breaths filled the silence before Kaili burrowed her face into Allyson’s shoulder. Fingers dug deep into her shoulders.

“So much death,” Kaili whimpered. “So many lives lost.”

The young Talith’s mind spun and ached in a whirlwind of emotion. She had seen the destruction of a society and the struggle that ensued once they had slipped from the galaxy. Witnessed the camaraderie that formed when a people was brought to a near end by something as simple as the plague. Only it hadn’t ended there. While there had been a brief moment when the galaxy had found them again, they were quickly forgotten about once said explorers died out. It was all there in stills as clear as day, but Kaili had no names, no anything. Just a mental intrusion and a panicked overload of emotion.

“Hold me, Allyson.” Kaili broke into tears again. “Please, just-…”

“Just hold me, I-”

“Hold me.”

“Hold me,” The girl’s heart started to race again, visions of her own encounter with death slowly creeping up on the horizon. “Please.” Kaili whimpered one last time before the tears returned.

[member="Allyson Locke"]

Kaili waking up was sudden and Allyson was caught off guard while she was nearly tackled by the blonde. Allyson did her best to force breath through her nose as she nearly choked from the hold Kaili had taken with her. Arms instinctively wrapped themselves around Kaili. There was something that clearly happened on her end that Allyson was totally unaware of and didn’t experience. What was that thing? Allyson did her best to hold Kaili as tight as possible. Tight spaces, tight enclosed spaces… Allyson whispered the mantra to herself knowing that this was the best way to comfort [member="Kaili Talith"]. It wasn’t until Kaili began to speak, that Allyson somewhat calmed down.

“Death?” She asked, but her question fell on deaf ears as Kaili was in her traumatized state. It was possible the water wasn’t a good idea, especially with what she might have seen in her vision. Ally wrapped her arms tighter around the Borleian girl keeping her as tightly against her body as she could. The wetness that had soaked Kaili was soon absorbed into the Corellian’s clothing, but that didn’t matter at this point.

As she held her, Allyson tried to rack her brain trying to see if she had remembered reading about anything that made sense of what Kaili had seen. Nothing came up, and she felt utterly useless to help Kaili. All she could do was hold the girl as tight as possible and rock her slowly in an attempt to provide comfort. Kisses were pecked and placed along Kaili’s forehead and cheek as Allyson continued to try and comfort her.

“It's okay Kaili, I’m here, you’re okay, you’re safe here with me. Nothing is going to happen to you...I promise…” What had happened in Kaili’s mind? What was it that she saw? There were so many questions that Allyson wanted to ask, but she figured it was probably the worst possible moment to try and get answers out of the woman in her arms. “Kaili, it's going to be okay, I’ll hold you for however long you want...”

It was like sitting in the middle of a river; feeling the waters brush against your skin as the rock you clung to kept you safe, calm and collected. Short and oh so rapid breaths seeped into the fabric covering Allyson’s shoulders. In through the nose, out through the nose. It was still hard to think back to the crash, but when faced with the death of billions it was hard not to. Slowly but steadily Allyson would feel the tension in her shoulders ease up. Kaili was letting go. Her hand slid from the shoulder to the lower back. The flood was over for now.

“It’s all okay, all okay.” Kaili repeated after Allyson and shook head. “Not okay.” A deep breath cracked through her throat and a shaky exhale followed close. “They’re dying, Allyson. I don’t know who, I don’t know where, but somewhere out there…”

“That was the history of my people, yet only a small glimpse of it.” The hologram said as it flickered back into life. “We were once a proud nation, but disease and famine have torn our numbers apart.”

“... We need a savior.” The man began before he paused himself for a moment, mouth agape and with a deep breath he continued. “Saviors.”

“This is by no means a feat that we are expecting the two of you to fix on your lonesome, but…” The man’s eyes set for the floor, his cheeks drooped. He was as torn as Kaili was, albeit for a different reason. “The rest of my databanks are stored within the R2-unit that I talked about.”

“Please, I implore you once again to plug me into it.” The man’s eyes pleaded as they set on first Allyson and then Kaili as she slowly grabbed on to the counter’s edge to lift herself up.

The man spoke one last time. “It’s a lot to ask, but I beg of you. Please.”

[member="Allyson Locke"]

Allyson held onto Kaili as she helped the woman stand upright. The hologram of the man continued to speak and it was a lot to even try and process. What made them special? Allyson wrinkled her nose while she clarified that question, she knew Kaili was special - someone better than she was. What made Allyson somehow involved in this? There was nothing extraordinary about her, she wasn’t the type of person to be the hero in a story. Shaking her head, Allyson pushed aside any thoughts of the adventure and returned her attention to Kaili. The girl had more involvement in this. “Kaili are you...are you going to be okay - just lean against me...okay yeah like that”

She knew that she should be concerned about the greater good of a large group of people, but the here and now Kaili would always outweigh the good of other people. Selfish it was, but that’s how Allyson saw the world. If there was no Kaili, there was no world or universe worth living in. Being a weighted support for Kaili she addressed the man once more.

“Saviors? That’s a lot to ask of someone especially after all of this” Allyson used her free hand to gesture towards the mess that was Kaili soaking wet Talith. Sighing softly, she looked around and did her best to remember if she had seen an R2 unit just collecting dust. “I don’t even know if that old R2 is still around…” Her lips pressed together and she remembered Kaili was a hoarder. “On second thought it probably is...but why us? What blood test did we pass?” [member="Kaili Talith"]

“That little sting, that was it.” The man responded with a tiny sympathetic nod at Allyson.

“It’s here.” Kaili grunted as she got up with Allyson’s help. As she got up on her feet again Kaili kept her arm wrapped around her partner for support. There was something comforting with it, as if the initial rush of emotion wasn’t fully over yet. She took a step away from the kitchen and pulled Allyson along with her. The workshop was still connected to her home and within it there were still small heaps of unfinished projects and discarded droids that were never picked up by their owners around. Kaili shuffled on over towards one of the bigger piles. She extended her hand towards it, closed her eyes and focused. The heap shook and shivered until eventually, in the middle of a small landslide of droids and parts, an ancient R2-unit rolled on out.

“I never really questioned why someone would leave an R2-unit like this,” Kaili said as she opened her eyes again. “In many ways, I guess it only makes sense. The droid is old and damaged.”

She let go of Allyson’s shoulder and knelt down before the droid.

“But operational.” The man added.

“But operational.” Kaili reaffirmed.

The Borleian engineer knelt down by the power inlet for the droid and reached out for a cable to charge it. Cord in hand she jammed it into the socket and watched as the white-golden unit slowly but steadily began to creep back into life. The hand that had grabbed the cord began to extend itself towards the man and his holographic unit. The other hand traced along the R2-unit’s white-golden surface until eventually it stumbled upon an out of place socket.

“I remember this,” Kaili muttered. “I always wondered what it was, but nothing around the shop would fit within.”

“You have your answer now.” The man added.

“Yeah.” Kaili muttered again.

The unit slid into the socket far more gently than anything Kaili had ever tried to mash into it. The R2-unit began to shake and Kaili quickly found herself getting up off the floor in a rush to stand back, arm extending itself across Allyson’s chest to push her away in case something happened. The R2-unit screeched, emitted static until eventually it stopped. A loud click and then a hum emanated from within its circuits and just as Kaili was about to turn it off, the unit would stop.

“Been so long since I was in this unit in particular.” The R2-unit spoke with the man’s voice. “Let’s see, ah yes, here it is.”

The holographic projector of the R2-unit began to warm up and with it a star map lit up the room.
“It’s a star map.” Kaili said, stating the obvious. “What about it?”

“I’m getting to it, child.” The R2 snided her before an orange blip lit up at the very furthest fringes of space.

“This is my homeplanet. We call it Kiara-”

Kaili felt her knees grow weak, her arm wrapped itself around Allyson again to keep herself from falling to the floor. A hand reached up to grasp her forehead, rub it to keep the pain away. The images were back, the information was right there.

“Kiara. Home of the Kiarans, lost to the galaxy after the Gulag Plague.” She blurted out subconsciously.

“Yes. Quite so.” The man nodded. “I see the information stuck after all.”

“It hurts.” Fingers dug into Allyson again as Kaili tried to keep her head from exploding.

“It was necessary.” The man sounded quite sure. “It was the history of my peop-”

“Save me the rant.” Kaili added with a growl. “Why?! Why did you do this?”

“Because fate has seen you, the two of you, set course towards our home. Our prophets have meditated on it, and they all see you set foot on Kiara. The first outsiders in half a decade to bring us back onto the map again.” The man looked at Allyson. “Two decades ago the image was of a sole person, but five years ago that changed. I am guessing, that’s you.”

“Prophets? Back on the map? What?” Kaili grunted between the headache. “Look, I don’t know what you are trying to play here, but I am not some sort of savior.”

“That remains to be seen, doesn’t it?” The man held back a laugh and looked over at Allyson. “What about you?”

“I sense your conflict within. What are your thoughts?”

[member="Allyson Locke"]

It was all a lot to handle and if Allyson was overwhelmed she couldn’t imagine what Kaili was going through. The Droid and the man being inserted into it played out and she held onto Kaili as tightly as she could protecting her from whatever she could protect her from. The droid man continued to talk of course explaining things that really didn’t make any sense. His attention seemed to have shifted towards her and Allyson wrinkled her nose not getting what he was talking about when he mentioned prophets.

A hand stroked Kaili’s back as she tried to comfort the girl. “So what you’re saying is, Kaili was always the one to save you guys - always and has been the one prophesied to bring your nation back to ts golden ages or something like that?” She continued after turning her comforting motions into one more protective as she tightly grasped around Kaili’s waist, keeping the girl close to her. “Yet all of a sudden its now both of us?” Allyson being the bright one, she did a few math problems and blinked rapidly. Five years the image had changed and shifted to being two people, but they had only known each other for two.

A slight shake in her head she stood to correct the man. “It can’t be me and Kaili who are your saviors...it's obviously her, but we’ve only known each other for two years. It’s probably her brother.” Allyson’s attention shifted to the girl she was protecting from the robot man. “Hey, you should - you should probably get Micah on a holocall or something and let him know about this.” Allyson’s hopes had died down when she really put her mind to this. Despite her desire to find some sort of clue to be able to know that her and Kaili were destiny driven by the great Force itself, she knew that their meeting was chance and the fact that their feelings had developed the way they had was luck and she wouldn't change it for the world. Her heart swelled when she thought of Kaili and when she was with her, but being a co-savior? Allyson had her doubts.

Either way she’d be there to help Kaili with her endeavour if she chose to help. “Of course, even though Micah is more than likely the one that they’ve seen, I’m still going to be at your side, I promise.” [member="Kaili Talith"]

The part that the man had left out was the part about saviors being a wild assumption based on the last time someone had rediscovered his home. He noted Allyson’s doubts with a solemn nod and continued to stare at Kaili. The imagery in the vision was never clear enough to make out who it was, but the description had always met with the image that Kaili had started to display on her advertisements all around Borleias and the Net. The hardest part for the little metal man was to orchestrate it all and get himself to where he needed to go, but as one of the girls had already experienced, the man was quite able with his mental intrusions and subversions.

“It’s not my brother,” Kaili gasped in between keeping her head from imploding still. “It might not even be real.” Kaili grunted. “There is no such thing as destiny, no such thing as luck.” The cynic in Kaili emerged. “Right time, right place. All there is to it.”

The headache subsided and Kaili let both of her hands land on a nearby workbench. Her hair covered her face, or well, as much of it as it could. Teeth still gritted, temper still acting up. It was times like these that she would dust off her punching bag, but it had been a good long while since it had come out to play.

“I will not turn down an offer to help people in need,” Kaili said as she slowly turned back towards the R2-unit. “But I am not going to be your savior.” The girl growled. “I will not be your prophesied messiah or hero. I will help get you on the map again, I will ensure that people know where you are.”

“It will be the corporations and foundations that aid you,” Deep breath. Gritted teeth.

“But we do not want-” The man was interupted.

“It is the corporations that will help you.” Kaili repeated. It really was non-negotiable. “I accept your call for help, but your task is beyond my means.”

“Allyson, we need to pack.” Kaili said as she started to make way towards the kitchen. “And eat. We never ate the eggs.”

[member="Allyson Locke"]

Right place right time? Isn’t that...luck though?

Allyson thought quietly to herself as she allowed Kaili to use her as a stabilizer to balance against as she moved herself upright near the workbench. As much as Allyson wanted to argue the concept of being at the right place at the right time could in fact be described as luck, she decided against it. Through their mutual connection, she could pick up that Kaili was more frustrated and in pain that what her face was letting on. A hand rubbed along the blonde’s back hopefully providing some calmness to her. The man in the R2 droid seemed to be continuing to rub along Kaili’s bad side.

Things continued on and Allyson watched as Kaili stressed that she will bring corporations into this mix. The brunette bit her lower lip and looked towards the blonde with a bit of concern. “Kaili, you think corporations are a good thing to bring to these people. Maybe there’s another way to go about this.” Allyson didn’t trust the corporate world as much as Kaili did, in fact Allyson pirated from them more often than not.

“Eggs we can pick up at a diner, but we should maybe talk about this. I mean, corporations could ruin whatever is on this dude’s planet…” [member="Kaili Talith"]

There was an overwhelming feeling of panic, of stress. From being invaded to being prophesied as a savior. Even if the girl put little stock in the fleeting visions of the force such ramblings were still far too much to put to mind mere moments after having experienced one of her most traumatic memories all over again. Allyson’s hand stroking up and down along the young Talith’s mind did help but it wasn’t by a lot. Kaili came to a stop by the kitchen counter, rested her elbows against the counter and placed her palms flat against her face.

“I know that!” She groaned. “... I don’t know.”

“I can’t do this alone, I don’t have the resources to do what he is asking of me.” She almost whimpered. Kaili was scared, at discomfort at the seat she was put in. She wasn’t going to say no, she couldn’t say no, but to be introduced to centuries of pain and suffering in an instant only to then be told to go save said people was far too much for even her to comprehend, to grasp.

Her hands cupped. The distorted sound of snivels called out between the long shaky inhales and exhales.

“The corporations will destroy it, but” Kaili finally said. A brief exhale, another sign of panic parted her lips. “I don’t know how to even go about this.”

Deep sigh. “We should at least pack. What do you think we’ll need to bring?”

[member="Allyson Locke"]

Sighing softly, Allyson really didn’t know what to say or do in this situation. This would be something that Allyson would look towards Kaili about, not the other way around. The Corellian was brash and forward about things, barreling her way till she got her way about something. Though this situation wasn’t something that the usual Allyson tactic was going to work. Kaili was smarter than she was giving herself credit for, she was more methodical about things and actually sat down and thought them through. This was why they worked together so well. Yet, in this situation, Allyson was going to have to be the ‘Kaili’.

WWKD...what would Kaili do…

That seemed to be the mantra for the situation. First off, they did need to pack. Of course Allyson had no idea what this planet was like and didn’t really know where to seriously start. A hand ran through her mess of brunette hair as she sighed softly. There were so many possibilities, remembering the small droid that Kaili kept at her side, she reminded the girl, “Well first off - should probably pack Henry...I mean I’m sure he’ll come in handy exploring a new planet” She needed to take Kaili’s mind off the whole, ‘named as a savior’ thing. “Oh and clothes, possibly some pretty outfits too...we might meet some important people…” Allyson paused and wrapped her arms tightly around the blonde woman. “Everything is going to work out. We’ll figure this out together Kaili…”

Pulling away, a smile spread across Allyson’s face. “It's just a new adventure for us.” [member="Kaili Talith"]

Kaili curled up in Allyson’s embrace and let the swaying calm her nerves. Her cheek against the Corellian’s, tears running down in streams, stifled by the sniffles and signs of panic. Chest to chest, heart to heart. The calmness of Allyson’s beating against the hyperactive drum of a savior. She wanted this to last forever, wanted to get lost in the moment and let the world wash away even if only for a few minutes. The panic was becoming too much, the ideas that Allyson brought up rung hollow in the blonde kid’s ears.

They separated.

Kaili stared herself blind within Allyson’s eyes trying to find an escape but found nothing other than her own insecurities. She was going to get someone killed again, or destroy more than just a ship, a civilization. Kaili was indirectly going to massacre even more people. Drench herself in the blood of others, see her hands drown in it.

No, this wouldn’t do. She dried the tears from her eyes, wiped her cheeks with the shoulder fabrics of her top. She had to be strong for this. She nodded at Allyson.

An adventure, it was an adventure. She had to think about the adventure. A shaky hand grabbed the counter and began shuffling towards Henry while her other hand let go of Allyson’s. Henry approached the extended hand. The heart rate of his master was through the roof again, something he had only seen once.

“This is worse than last time.” Henry said out loud for Allyson to hear and for Kaili to acknowledge, which she did with a nod. “Remember what Bolo said?”

“Happy place.” Kaili gasped.

“... Happy place.” Henry nodded.

“Home.” She groaned.

“... Home.” Henry repeated and opened a small storage compartment and pulled out a very small ring. “You must.”

“I must.” The girl repeated back and grabbed the metallic cylinder. A brief moment of hesitation kicked in. She looked at the blue-glowing ring and then back at Allyson. This was the cheat code, the fixer upper that Kaili had only brought out once before in the Corellian’s presence. It slipped onto her finger.

She loved it but hated to use it. It made her feel weak. Not physically as much as mentally as if she was unable to carry the weight of her own emotions without the help of a trinket. There was no denying how much she valued it, but she tried to keep her emotions under check by her own volition. It was the only way for her to truly be at peace with it, but there were moments when she failed.

This was one of them.

“What is that?” The foreign R2-unit asked.

“Meditation ring.” Henry answered as Kaili slumped down to the floor again. Back against the wall, fists pressed tight against her forehead. “She is too proud to admit she needs it.”

“... I’ll help organize things.” Henry said, extending a metaphorical hand towards his master’s master; Allyson. “You two have a lot ahead of you.”

Metal legs scaled the walls and approached the medpack by the kitchen. “You will need this, for starters. You will also need to pack for all climates, purchase rations to last the trip as well as new socks.”

“... You humanoids always need more socks.” The robot joked in an attempt to lighten the mood. “Mistress Kaili has a tendency to lose those.”

[member="Allyson Locke"]

[SIZE=13.3333px]Holding Kaili made the weight of what ever was going to happen feel more real. Allyson had no clue where to start or how she should or would support her. There was a lot of doubt that swirled in her mind. The doubt of course wasn’t because she didn’t believe that Kaili could save a world, it was the fact that the prophecy saw her with Kaili. The hug tightened right before Kaili pulled away. Allyson was heavily convinced that the prophecy saw Kaili and her brother. The man would and could fill the shoes necessary to support Kaili. Allyson felt like a hinderance for the girl. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=13.3333px]Eyes fell on the ring as the droids spoke about it and Kaili sat embarrassed by it. Part of Allyson was jealous that she couldn’t provide the same feeling of calm for Kaili. If she was proficient at helping her girlfriend, she wouldn’t have had to use this ring. More self doubt bubbled to the surface as she ran her fingertips along her forearm trying to think of something to say or do to make this feel better and less weird. Henry began taking charge and Allyson welcomed the droid’s help and attempt at comic relief. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=13.3333px]“Its a good thing she has a lot of socks.” Allyson forced a smile as she moved towards their shared room. It was obvious her shoreleave wasn’t going to be as relaxing as she assumed it would be. In he mind, her and Kaili would have ended out of their clothing again, making up for lost time. Allyson began packing her bags with clothing along with pulling out Kaili’s at the same time. Looking towards the girl from their private quarters, Allyson called out to her. “Just relax...I’ll handle this part.” [member="Kaili Talith"][/SIZE]

The girl in the corner remained seated. The self-doubt from Allyson was added to the weight of troubles as she sunk deeper and deeper into her meditative state. The R2-unit watched in silence as the couple began to do their parts. Henry started moving batteries, Allyson started shuffling clothes and while the Corellian might have called for Kaili’s attention the girl wouldn’t provide any answer.

“She is gone.” Henry replied instead. “Sensor readings indicate her heart rate is stabilizing. Breathing is suspended, seemingly, but she is recovering.”

There was a reason Kaili had installed a personal heart monitor and stim injector within Henry’s chassis. Although the latter was more of a personal secret. The less knew how deep the initial trauma went the better.

Needless to say, the girl had nightmares that she would do well to wake up from.

“Pack good underwear, both disposable and comfortable ones.” Henry scuttled into the living quarters with a neatly organised box of batteries. “Socks are not the only things that disappear in a hurry around here.”

“Last night comes to mind.” The droid added with, if he could, a cheeky grin.

Allyson nodded taking Henry’s advice. The droid was more complex than she could ever image. It was able to work out its own jokes and monitor Kaili better than anything known to this universe. A part of her was jealous, knowing that the droid could care for Kaili better than she could. Allyson’s brow frowned as she focused on the bags she was packing. Why was she doubting herself so much at this moment, even being foolish enough to compare herself to a droid that Kaili had crafted herself for obvious personal reasons.

Blinking quickly, Allyson registered Henry’s cheeky comment. “Last night? Were you watching?” Allyson’s face went white as she could only imagine with the droid must have seen. A small BB unit rolled through and chirped happily as it found its way near Henry. Bait’s head rose slightly as his little camera like eye started to glow. The following video clip played, images of Allyson and Kaili doing that thing they do. Horrified Allyson watched, but in an odd way found enjoyment seeing Kaili of course. Still with the droids having this...they had a edge.

“You devilish brat.” Was all she could muster as she shoved more clothes into the bags. Eyebrow twitching she looked at Henry, “Is Kaili doing okay?” she attempted to change the subject and hoped that Kaili hadn’t walked in on the moment Bait showed the holovid of their love making. “You didn’t need to see it.” Henry added as he placed the batteries in Kaili’s bag. “Heart rates were through the roof, which was not to mention the sounds.”

Any more detail and the robot might have blushed. Instead he scampered on over towards the outlet to unplug his docking bay. Attention set on the Corellian as she witnessed the explicit collection of footage from not just the night before, but many others just like it.

“Kaili is okay…” Henry assured the worried girlfriend.

Out from the kitchen the sound of feet could be heard. “You’re back up then.” The mysterious man’s muted voice called out. Feet shuffled and dragged across the floor, slowly approaching the living quarters in which the two droids and Allyson were. Her blonde hair was a mess and at this point it was hard to tell if it was because of the night or the events of the morning. She looked freshly awoken, like a woman who had just woken up from a nightmare only to find out it was all a dream.

A drowsy, exhausted Kaili flopped her way towards Allyson. Face burrowing deep within the Corellian’s neck for comfort. She let off a flurry of kisses running up and down in appreciation. Henry and Bait both looked at each other and snickered before looking back at the two women before them. Kaili stopped, looked at the droids, and perked her brow.

“... What?”

“Heart rates and sounds…” Allyson mused over this comment from Henry. Kaili was a bit vocal at times, but that just meant Allyson was doing her job. Kaili emerged from the other room and came looking for Allyson. There was a worried look on her face, but that soon disappeared as soon as Kaili came to nestle in the nook of the Corellian’s neck. A sigh escaped from the woman as the flurry of kisses made her forget everything that had happened. Hands made their way to the blonde’s hips slipping stray fingers up the soft fabric of the t-shirt Kaili wore. Then the droids had to ruin it.

Allyson looked at the pair from the corner of her eye and gave them a look that in so many words meant that they should wander away. Allyson pulled Kaili close to her in hopes of getting her attention away from the droids. “You feeling better?” A smile spread across her face as she stared at the Borleian youth. Even when things were like the way they were, Kaili had a way to always look amazing. Allyson ran the tips of her fingertips against Kaili’s cheek, brushing some of the girl’s hair back behind her ear.

“I’ve gotten everything packed.” Deciding to try her luck, Allyson kept Kaili pressed against her and slowly leaned over and returned the kisses to the girl’s neck moving slowly towards her ear where she gave the tender lobe a soft nip. [member="Kaili Talith"]
