On Top of The World

The two droids looked at each other and quickly wiped their grins as Allyson glared at them. They did of course obey their master, but not without showing the clip one last time, without sound, behind Kaili’s back. Just to tease. Meanwhile Kaili found herself pulled closer to Allyson. The kisses that she had provided were being repaid in full. The blonde felt her heart beating again, as heavy as it had less than a day ago. It was funny almost how Allyson could make her feel that way. As if in an instant they could both forget about the world and their past, worry about the here and now. About each other.

A soft delicate touch began to traverse up Allyson’s side.

“Good.” Kaili gasped and pulled Allyson in closer. “We’ve got a few minutes, we could-”

Little had they predicted, or seemingly remembered, their guest in the kitchen as he rolled into view within the living quarters.

“I don’t really want to stress you two, but my peop- Oh goodness me!” The R2-unit shrieked in surprise before it went into full reverse back into the kitchen.

“Oh fark!” Kaili exclaimed.

“Sorry! Sorry, sorry, sorry! The other two said it was clear.” The man shouted. In the background you could hear the loud laughters of both Henry and Bait who found the situation very amusing. “It’s uh, we should get going. If you are all done packing.”

Kaili let the moment die out, her entire body shaking the embarrassment away with a shiver.

“The ship has more privacy anyway.” She said, stroking her arm. “We should probably get it loaded up and ready to go…”

The Greater power of the Cosmos denied Allyson everything she wanted in that moment. There was soft whine that escaped her lips as Kaili suggested the ship. It was in this moment she regretted supporting this endeavour, but if she didn’t than she would be denying something of Kaili. Nodding slightly, the brunette couldn’t help but bite her lip in her silly attempt to calm herself down. Packing the ship was the next mission and she focused her straying mind to that. The video the droids attempted to tease her with had done its job and packing was going to help get her mind off of what she wanted to be doing instead.

“Right right. But once Bait and Henry are in control of the auto pilot…” She smirked towards the blonde. “You’re mine, I have eight months to make up for.” Maybe staying way for eight months wasn’t all that bad. Pondering it, she frowned and packed away the last bit of toiletries they needed. Eight months was a ridiculously long time to be away. The bags along with supplies were quickly loaded onto the ship, the Kraken remained housed with Kaili - mostly because she couldn’t pilot it as a rogue.

With everything packed and the ship loaded for the trip, Allyson walked along its small hallway and stretched. “Smells just like I left her.” She began to unpack the bags and shove them into the small drawers. Despite it being some time since she had been on the ship, things were looking out of place. A brow raised and she looked towards the blonde, “Have you wandered onto the ship while I was gone [member="Kaili Talith"] ?”

The undergarments drawer was sifted through and there was an attempt to refold and fix what was messed up, but Allyson knew for a fact that someone had rummaged through her underwear drawer.

Loose strands of hair was tucked back behind Kaili’s ear. In many ways she could consider the events and the way they unfolded as a blessing, in many ways not really. The ring remained firmly hugging her long finger. Its blue sheen bringing a vague highlight as her fingertips drifted through her short hair. Henry made a call for a lift to come help load their things onto the ship and after a brief wait the help arrived. A short ithorian and a duros greeted the two girls and stepped inside the Borleian girl’s home. Together they lifted crates, bags and containers of all kind into the moving van before finally they all bunched up together and went off towards the spaceport.

After a quick stop by the stores to purchase the rations needed to make the trip, Kaili and Allyson would finally find themselves within the confines of ‘The Kraken’ again. Henry, Bait and the mysterious R2-Unit had all dispersed and gone their separate ways. The two buddies entered the cockpit and the stranger took up residence in the mess. It hadn’t been all that long since Kaili herself had entered the ship, but it was the first time in awhile in which she was here with Allyson. The two entered their room and began unpacking. Allyson in hers, Kaili in her own.

The metallic voice of Henry rung throughout the ship. “Preparing for lift off.”

A knot tied itself firmly within Kaili’s stomach at the thought. From her bag she withdrew a t-shirt too small for her. Blue, hugged Kaili perhaps a bit too tight, but not Allyson.

“Have you wandered onto the ship while I was gone, Kaili Talith?” The brunette asked and Kaili rushed to shove the stolen shirt into her drawer. A guilty glance set on Allyson.

“... No?” Kaili lied.

Knees bent until the girl was kneeling by her bag again to withdraw more clothing from her bag. The ship twitched, the engines began to whine, and Kaili let a stammered inhale bring an abrupt end to the conversation. Her fingers caught the top of the drawers with a grip tight enough to cause all color to drain, make her skin turn pale.

Even with the ring it was all so much. They were off, they were going to see what the R2-man had been talking about. Kaili took a deep breath to recenter herself and drop the anxiety.

“Okay, yes.” She admitted in terror. The ship shook, the footing was uneasy, but Kaili rose from the floor to withdraw the shirt that she had stolen. “It was eight months, Allyson.”

[member="Allyson Locke"]

Allyson blinked seeing the girl raise the shirt. It was an odd choice, but when Allyson thought back to it, the shirt was the last one she had worn when they were together. A smile crossed her face as she shrugged. “I was just curious, mostly because I wanted to make sure no one was sneaking onto the ship when they shouldn't be.” The ship creaked and she knew they were breaking atmosphere and they would soon be jumping into hyperspace. Which meant the first hard part of their trip was about to be over.

Their connection fed Allyson the uncomfortableness that Kaili felt while they were on the ship. Knowing how the girl was and the events of her past affected her, Allyson put down what she was doing and hugged Kaili tightly. They broke through and the ship stabilized, Allyson let go and smiled softly.

“I know it was eight months.” Allyson knew and she knew that it was her doing. It broke her heart that her fear and her own selfish nature that kept them apart. She took the extra tours, she took the over time to make sure that she didn’t come home. The Corellian wasn’t ready to face the adult nature of their relationship. Here she was now though, overcoming her fear one day at a time. The love that she had for the other woman helped overcome all of that.

“I’m sorry. I don’t think I’ve said that yet.” A coy smile spread across her face, she felt so guilty knowing that Kaili needed that connection to her and that fear kept them apart longer than necessary. “It won’t ever happen again, I promise. I love you Kaili, but I was just so scared and so selfish that I stayed away because I didn’t want to make things worse or even hear you say that you don’t want to love me anymore.”

A hand ran through her brunette hair, "I'm so sorry." [member="Kaili Talith"]

It would have been a lie to say that Kaili hadn’t considered stealing undergarments rather than a shirt. In the end it had all boiled down to what kind of lines of creepy that Kaili would have wanted to cross, and that line had been drawn at that particular drawer. A shirt felt more fitting, a bit more personal. A shirt — at least this particular shirt — hugged Kaili yet it smelled of Allyson. Or rather, it used to. The smell had long since then been washed away, but the sentiment remained. It was a hug from Allyson, much like the one Kaili was receiving. That was all that mattered in the end.

Kaili leaned into Allyson’s shoulder and neck again. Her eyes closed, she relaxed. Eight months apart was a long time and the fact that Allyson seemed to think it was her fault that it had happened. It was to a degree, but Kaili had her part in it as well with the way she always jumped into the fire on Mara’s behalf, the way she seemed to drop everything — including her care for her girlfriend’s own thoughts on the matter — to be at the Merrill’s side. That was what had happened. That was why they had separated and that was what had caused the two women to fight over it all. Something as stupid as the fact that Kaili had managed to forget Allyson’s own connection to the Mandalorians had almost cost her the best thing she’d ever had.

“I love you.” Kaili repeated with Allyson. “I would never say that it was over. Not ever.”

“It wasn’t your fault.” Kaili said as the two separated. “I never should have chased after Mara like that. I shouldn’t have read your mails, I should have paid more attention to you and how it all affected you.”

“I-…” Kaili hesitated, felt her heart skip a beat. “I took you for granted.”

“I did.” Kaili swept her hand through her hair. “Mara was in danger, I saw… I don’t know what I saw. I saw red and I left you without as much of a second thought about how this all affected you. It wasn’t until I realized that, I...”

Kaili swallowed air.

“I thought I had already lost you.” The kid teared up. “Allyson, I’m the one who should be sorry. I am the one who karked up.” Admitting it hurt, but Kaili had to do it. Allyson needed to know. “You were right to take an extended leave. I was wrong, I mistreated you, I karked everything up.”

“Hearing your voice again in that holocall all those weeks ago was the single greatest feeling I have felt in a long time.” Kaili took a seat on the bed. Dejected and teary eyed. “I kept telling myself that I had messed it up, but then-… Then-...”

“Then you said otherwise.” The girl sniveled. “I didn’t deserve that.”

Mara.

The girl that started all of this. Allyson thought about the situation as Kaili apologized. The Corellian still didn’t have much information on the girl that caused her girlfriend to drop everything and run off to her. In all fairness, Alec Rekali was also a cause in all of this. Allyson knew that Kaili didn’t like the closeness of the pair, she didn’t enjoy how casually forward they were at the Outback party. Was Mara like Kaili’s version of Alec Rekali? Allyson really didn’t know and the more she thought about it, the more she didn’t want to know. All and all she wanted to take this and move forward.

Kaili was in a humbling mood it seemed, with everything that had happened between them and with the droid ghost man invading her mind. It was a rare moment and Allyson decided to not ruin it. The woman felt compelled to try and fix everything, to return to the girl to her competitive self. Labored arms quickly swept the blonde into an embrace, it was tight and a hand rested while fingers laced through blonde locks. Allyson pulled Kaili as tightly to her as she could, it was a feeling she was used to and never wanted to lose. The way their bodies molded as if they were made for each other. There was no one like that before in Allyson’s life and she could feel the need she had for the Talith girl growing stronger by the moment. Cheek to cheek Allyson sigh softly and became intoxicated by the woman’s scent.

How could one person do this to another? How was it possible that out of how many people and beings were in this galaxy that she was lucky enough to exist at the same time as Kaili? Her hold grew tighter as she clutched onto her lover as if she would perish if she released her. Allyson spoke, her voice sharp and desperately fighting back tears that would usually be brought on by this emotion. “I can’t lose you ever, I can’t lose you...because without you…”

The hold threatened to meld them into one…

“Because if I ever lost you...I’d have nothing...nothing to live for.”

It was why she kept coming back, there was something in this galaxy, there was someone that kept her anchored. Without [member="Kaili Talith"], there was no Allyson Locke.

Emotions were running free again. The grip that threatened to meld them into one grew stronger and stronger for each second that passed and with Allyson’s declaration of how important Kaili was to her the girl found herself dumbstruck. Their cheeks brushed against another. Quiet streams of tears mixed into a salty mess of both Kaili and Allyson’s making. From one silent inhale to another Kaili felt herself taking in the scents of Allyson, much like Allyson was taking in the scent of Kaili. The kid clasped her hands together behind the Corellian’s back, thumb and index finger grinding together to get a grip of the ring that adorned her finger. She had to get it off, Kaili didn’t want to keep it on. Not now, not for this. She didn’t need it, she had something else. Someone else. The ring slid off her finger and she quickly pocketed it before her hands went up grasp at Allyson’s shoulder again.

“You are more important to me than I have words for.” Kaili whispered back between staggered breaths. It was all she could think of, the only words that she would be able to let part her mouth before it brushed against Allyson’s neck. If she couldn’t tell her then there was no option but to show her. One kiss turned into many, the soft touch of Kaili’s hand wiping away any and all tears before finally planting one last kiss upon Allyson’s lips. A careful push, a lean into the hands and arms of Kaili eased Allyson into the softness of the bed.

A hand raised to lock the door to the suite.

It was going to be a long trip, this was as good of a way as any to start it.

[member="Allyson Locke"]

To feel something like the way she felt about Kaili was something that she knew she would never feel ever again. It was possible to find something similar, but the heat and the passion that overtook Allyson in this moment would never be the same with anyone else. No one else mattered in this life anymore, no one else even existed to the Corellian including their mission that they were on right now. Tender kisses and warm fingers burned against Allyson as she found herself pressed against the bed of their lodging.

She had so much to say, but nothing made sense with words. A brief pause, a moment to catch air allowed Allyson a glimpse of her lover in the dim makeshift lighting of the ship. It was that moment that she found herself falling in love again as light and shadows danced across Kaili’s face and body. Allyson feared to touch her, feared to disturb the perfection of the moment, yet she couldn’t help herself. Addicted to the other woman, she reached out and caressed against tender flesh, feeling the electricity that burned between them. The girl inhaled the other’s scent and pushed against her once more attempting to make their bodies one again.

Artificial light beat against them and Allyson fought the urge to open her eyes. The entire evening was filled with their physical declaration of their love and she didn’t want to wake from it. If she could she would hold this moment forever and play it consistently only to feel Kaili like this. Losing the fight against the light, Allyson opened her eyes to find herself still tangled with her lover. Chests rose and fell together, Allyson smiled and ran her fingertips against the exposed cheek of her lover. As her fingers trailed she guided the woman’s sleepy chin towards her, where she attempted to wake her with a kiss. [member="Kaili Talith"]

Breathing was hard. Kaili towered above Allyson in a brief moment of total bliss. It reminded her of before their fight, before they were sure where this thing was going. When the boat they floated in was still traversing new waters and the new world showed itself. From when Kaili was a hesitant little girl in a shop, a single shop. When there was no Rogue Squadron and when the only thing keeping them apart was their own obligations to the secondary. It was like staring at the misplaced Corellian that had stumbled into the store looking to fix her droid’s arm while still a few credits short as if all things had built up to this very particular moment during which they shared what was likely to become just one of many adventures of a lifetime.

The blonde woman leaned in for another kiss before the night seemed to sink into a deep euphoria. Two bodies, two hearts, one rhythm. The way it was meant to be. One kiss became many and before long they were swept into a soft dreamworld of their own making, and when eyes closed for the last time that evening they wouldn’t open until either woman felt ready for it to hit them again. Kaili would have thought herself to be the one, but the gentle caress of her cheek slowly made her realize how wrong she was. The melancholic, hollow ringing of nothingness faded into the gentle hum of engines. Lips touched, eyes slowly batted as the blonde awoke. The look of surprise that first set over her quickly faded into a warm smile.

All was well in the world. All was calm, at last.

“Morning.” Kaili whispered as soft as she could muster. Thoughts of the night before surfaced, of the screams of joy, yet the girl swept them aside. This moment was perfect, this moment was what she’d wanted for so long. At long last they were united again. Properly this time.

The girl had no words to follow. Her hand grabbed at Allyson’s. Kaili’s thumb gently stroked back and forth along the soft, delicate skin of her lover’s hand. A slow sigh, as well as a yawn, entered and left through Kaili’s nose. She would treasure this moment for as long as she could.

She leaned in and kissed on Allyson’s cheek.

“Should we get up?" The woman whispered one last time before almost snoozing off again.

[member="Allyson Locke"]

They had obligations, but they also had obligations to each other. All that Allyson could think about was how she had left Kaili for eight months. In most cases, people would have given up. They would have moved on and found other lovers to provide them the attention they needed and craved. Closing her eyes she felt the tenderness of Kaili’s lips warm her cheek. She didn’t know what made the girl’s lips feel so warm and cause a burning sensation to spiral throughout her entire body. There was something different about the way Kaili kissed, breathed, and among everything else - it was as if she was hand created by the Force itself.

Her existence made Allyson believe in the all living Force.

Was that Love? Is this feeling what it means to be passionately in love with someone? Allyson pondered the unanswered questions as she listened to Kaili stir and ask the question about leaving bed. They had obligations, but according to the star map - those obligations weren’t going to be rearing their ugly heads any time soon. There was eight months to make up for, there were unnecessary arguments to apologize for and above all else, there was a lifetime of love to express to the blonde Borleian woman. “No, let’s stay here for a just a few moments longer.”

Allyson mustered up enough strength to shift Kaili under her. A well placed knee wedged itself between Kaili’s own and the Corellian used her body weight to keep the blonde pinned to the cushioned mattress. Hands holding down wrists, Allyson nuzzled Kaili’s neck while nipping softly between words. “I’m not ready to give you over to destiny or whatever that ghost droid man wants with you.” A smirk as she threatened to indulge herself with another burning kiss from the blonde, “For now, I demand your undivided attention.” WIth that, Allyson selfishly immersed herself into her passion and forgot the obligations that threatened their utopia. [member="Kaili Talith"]

[member="Allyson Locke"]

So much had happened since that day in the shop and the more Kaili would think about it, the more it started to feel like they had never taken the chance to merely lean back and enjoy what they truly had, even if for a brief moment. It had always been a mix up of desperate last minute kisses and hellos as either woman travelled in between jobs and with the growth of Kaili’s company into something greater than she could have ever anticipated there was even less time for it. While there had been many passionate moments like this there had never been a moment quite like this one where after all the time they had spent together all was allowed to merely be for a moment. There was no threat of either of them being pulled away for a job, no threat for a board meeting that needed tending to or a long round of service to go on. They merely were, and that was the beauty of the moment.

Allyson wanted more and Kaili wasn’t going to stop her. The Corellian’s arms enveloped Kaili’s before spreading her hands by either side of her head. They found each other again much like they had the night before, but things were different. There was another kind of joy behind the burning stare of Allyson Locke, a longing glance mirrored only by Kaili’s own eyes. The Corellian wasn’t ready to turn Kaili over to destiny and neither was the blonde woman trapped beneath her. They still had this moment, and for a short while they only had each other. This was their utopia, their euphoric hideaway from reality.

Allyson leaned in for the kiss and Kaili’s mind blanked out in more ways than just the one. The familiar images of the ship’s internals flashed before her eyes as lips met with lips, navcharts imprinted for every breath taken. They were still two weeks away from their target. Thirteen days and two hours if you wanted to be exact.

By the time her senses returned Kaili found her leg wrapped firmly around Allyson’s.

“As you wish.” The Borleian whispered and mustered the strength to wrestle Allyson off of her hands and leg until the tables were reversed. She towered above the Corellian before a kiss landed on those delicate lips, before a kiss nipped at Allyson’s collarbone, before a light tap clanked against the door.

Kaili shook it off, pretended it wasn’t there as she reached lower.

A louder clang knocked on the door before Kaili let out a -- to put it mildly -- frustrated groan.

“What?!” She shrieked.

“Don’t we need to talk?” Henry’s voice called out.

“About what, Henry?” Sighed and collapsed back on her pillow.

“Well, the trip comes to mind.” The deadpan voice of her droid offered in response.

A very deep sigh burst through Kaili’s nose as she burrowed her face deep into the palms of her hands.

“I should never have given that man the means to knock on doors.” She muttered.

Everything was going quite well and in her favor, till obligations knocked on the door. Wincing at Kaili’s shrek, Allyson sighed softly and bit her lower lip. She let the conversation between master and droid play out for the moment. Still, she wanted to keep Kaili here for a few moments longer. Opportunities where they had each other like this, alone for the most part was rare. Allyson remembered quiet and lonely nights on battleships, where she couldn’t comm Kaili because of secret locations. When she could call her and video chat - those moments were never the same as feeling her warmth. Wrinkling her nose, she waited till Kaili was finished then pounced her.

She didn’t give the girl a moment to refuse, hands moved quickly and kisses trailed along tender flesh. Allyson wasn’t ready to let go, she wasn’t ready to face the destiny that waited them outside this room. Not yet, maybe not ever. A finger hushed Kaili’s lips as Allyson smirked. “Ignore them for right now, just...just give me ten more minutes of you. Then you can be the savior that world deserves.”

-------

More than ten minutes later Allyson sat on the edge of the bed wiping her face with a towel. She glanced over her shoulder at the blonde woman who remained there for the most part. “Sorry, that took longer than the time I said it would…” A grin spread across her face from ear to ear, “but it was worth it right?” [member="Kaili Talith"]

Kaili opened her mouth to protest but quickly found herself struggling as the finger of Allyson Locke forced her lips to seal. The morning proceeded much like she would have wanted and expected it to. Perhaps not with the droids’ interruptions but otherwise it most certainly did.

More than ten minutes came to pass.

“Yes.” An almost inaudible peep parted Kaili’s lips.

The blonde slowly rose from her prone position. Her hands spread out along the soft surface of the bed and pushed her from the cotton-filled ground. Arms shivered, shook almost as if all strength had been sapped out of her. Getting into a seated position at the edge of the bed she found herself catching a fall with her elbows against her knees. She was somehow more tired again. Or maybe not tired, but the feeling of being worn out was certainly there. It was a calm kind of fatigue. Surreal.

Kaili got herself dressed and stretched her arms out in a yawn. She wouldn’t say anything to ruin this moment. Her own little walk of shame within the confines of a ship that was halfway hers.

She tucked her hair behind her ears to arrange it into something more respectable, fixed the collars and seams of her shirts and pants to be more proper before unlocking the door only to find Henry and the mystery R2 in the middle of a chess game.

All attention set on the blonde.

“Hi.” She waved it off.

“Massage find you alright?” Henry asked rather annoyed.

“Certainly.” Kaili shook the comment off. “Gratitude for me not shutting you down when you first knocked on the door find you alright?”

The droids shut up and shook his chassis to mimick a headshake.

“Mhm. Now, Allyson,” Kaili said and turned towards the Corellian. “How about those eggs?”

“What about Kiara?” Henry asked.

“We’re two weeks away.” Kaili shrugged and withdrew the necessary ingredients from the fridge. “And right now, I want nothing but the calmness of the moment. Okay?”

“... Okay.” Kaili repeated herself.

[member="Allyson Locke"]

Allyson chuckled as she listened to the exchange between Henry and Kaili. The girl was not about this savior life and it was a good thing she wasn't mentally harping on the situation. Allyson knew if Kaili focused too hard on it, things would get blown out of proportion and she would drive her self insane. The eggs, they seemed to be something cemented in their lives. With a nod of her head, the corellian agreed with the Borleian babe. "Eggs first, saving an unknown world later"

Helping Kaili in the kitchen made their relationship seem normal. There were no xwings, rogue squadron, CEO of big company, or any worlds need saving. Here it was just the two of them, making food to share and catch up with life. Allyson once more kicked herself, knowing that she almost lost this, almost threw it all away over something that in the grand scheme of things seemed pointless.

Scrambled eggs found their way into the pan, while Kaili cooked, Allyson wrapped her arms around the blonde's waist and snuggled her face into the blonde locks. "I love you..."

All she said as she waited for breakfast. [member="Kaili Talith"]

It was an unusually quiet moment for them. At least Kaili in particular. Life had grown hectic since Kaili’s Droids became Andromeda and since ‘The Rekalis’ turned into ‘Rogue Squadron. Eggs had become something of a traditional dish for them almost. It was the go-to, the thing that they shared after reuniting again but only after the ‘catching up with’ was over and away with. The somewhat arrogant yet incredibly pleased smile lingered on the girl’s lips as Allyson dug into her hair again.

A snicker burst through the blonde’s nose.

“I love breakfast.” She responded in jest before adding cream to the eggs. Salt and pepper both found their way into her hands and were strewn in equal measure across the surface of the goo that started to take shape. The normalcy that had set upon them was welcomed in the light of what had happened mere hours beforehand. Kaili looked at the chronometer and perked her brows. It wasn’t hours, it was a day ago at this point. She’d lie if she said she wasn’t taken aback by it.

Another pan was added to the stovetop, bacon was added to the mix.

A small sigh parted Kaili’s lips. It was time to face reality again, just a for a little bit.

“So, tell me more about the plan.” The girl said and looked over at the sentient astromech. “I take it your plan went beyond me just popping in to say hello to the local populace, right?”

There was a moment of awkward silence that fille the room as each droid in the room started to stare back and forth at each other.

“... Really?” Kaili couldn’t help but sound a little disappointed, though mainly dumbfounded. “That’s not how first contact works, little R2-Man.”

“My name is Ymar.” The R2-unit responded.

“Whatever.” Kaili shrugged. “Look, I can’t just barge in there and expect people to be peaches and cream about it.”

“With the way our seers have been speaking? Yeah you can.” Ymar responded.

“Uh, no, I can’t.” Kaili said as her brows furrowed in further disbelief. She got the food off the stove and onto plates before leading Allyson towards the table to take a seat by the others. “Not unless I want to be bombarded with either praise or skepticism. I don’t want either of them, I just want to arrive and see what the lay of the land is before I decide on what to do.”

Ymar looked unimpressed. As was only really evident in the way he refrained from speaking.

“They are expecting you.” He said to restate the obvious. “They will accept you no matter what.”

“Look, I am just saying… Look, it’s not for them, it’s for me. I don’t want to be in the spotlight until I know what to even do.” Kaili said and dragged a hand through her hair.

“Oh.” Ymar responded. “What do you think, Allyson?” The man said and turned towards the Corellian. “They’re waiting on both of you, you know. Only fair if you have a say as well.”

[member="Allyson Locke"]

Allyson ate her plate of food and listened to Kaili and the R2 man talk. They seemed to have different ideas about how this was going to go down. Kaili had a point - especially since she didn’t know what they were getting into. In all actuality this could have been a trap set up rather elaborately by someone. Allyson took that into consideration as she continued to consume breakfast. She did have plans to remain out of the conversation, it really wasn’t her place about this whole ‘savior of a world’ thing.

Of course the droid man decided to pull her in reluctantly. Stuck with a fork in her mouth she paused and looked towards Kaili. There were two things playing here, she could go against Kaili which would probably result in grumpy Kaili or she could agree with Kaili - which would result in grumpy Kaili just not Kaili grumpy with Allyson. Pretending there was still food in her mouth she bought herself some time.

Finally formulating a thought, she spoke. “I have to agree with Kaili here. I mean we are outsiders even if your people are expecting us - how do they know that its actually us? Also, you said originally the prophecy or whowhatsit, only showed Kaili and now all of a sudden shows me - how do I know you’re just not trying to use me as some bait for her.”

Allyson pointed her fork at the R2 droid. “Can you blame us for being skeptical here? I mean this sounds like something I saw in an Atrisian Cartoon man.” [member="Kaili Talith"]

The remark, whether genuine or not, brought a smile to Kaili’s face who bought it in full.

“See? I am not the only one being smart here.” Kaili said and forked more eggs into her mouth. The R2-unit remained silent as it stared at Allyson. “Don’t give her that.” The girl’s brows drooped to let the droid man know his attempt at persuading her had not been appreciated in the first place. He began to stare at Kaili instead. “Atrisian Cartoons or not, we’re talking about fourty years of isolation at the very least.”

“So?” The droid tsked in frustration.

“So?” Kaili repeated as her head twitched in surprise. “So that means at least half a generation has lived without seeing this ‘prophecy’ come true as well as a whole new generation that might not even be aware it is a thing.”

“We have faith-” Ymar was cut off.

“Faith is individual.” The girl shrugged. “I have faith in Allyson, I have faith in my friends and those around me. I choose what to believe in and your people are no different.”

“But our seers have seen it!” The Kiaran droid finally exclaimed in frustration.

“Your seers have had both a vision of me alone as well as me with someone else!” Kaili rose from her seat and smashed her knuckle against the table. “Your seers can’t predict the future, they get a vision of a dimension that may either be in line with ours or not. The force is fleeting and unknown and the more you sit here trying to convince me to bruteforce first contact with the outside world the better the idea to spacing you seems to get.”

The droid remain silent. The fire behind Kaili’s eyes flared up, much like her nostrils.

“You are excited, I get that, but you don’t get to jeopardize the impact of my arrival — OUR arrival — by using no argument other than ‘We have seen it.’” She was positively fuming. “You haven’t seen shart. You have seen one of many potential outcomes, many of which most likely didn’t even include me.”

The droid stared. It stared good.

“Does the people even know of these visions?” Kaili tried to burn a hole through the droid with her own stare alone. The droid remained silent and she took his answer as a no.

“Didn’t even think so.” The girl blurted. “So unless you give me a better argument than your dumb visions I suggest you shut the feth up or I will space you.”

Was it the anger or the stress speaking at this point? Kaili didn’t really know.

Allyson watched the conversation unfold between the droid and Kaili. The girl was stubborn, far more stubborn than she had ever seen. As much as Allyson wanted to have good faith with the droid man, she was still feeling that Kaili was right. Adjusting herself where she was sitting and she began to interject, but Kaili continued on with the droid. So instead Allyson just sat there, shoving eggs and breakfast into her mouth. Once her breakfast was finished, a single index finger scratched the side of her mouth while trying to think of something to say to break any sort of tension. Everything came down to it and there was the revelation that the citizens of this civilization didn’t even know of the prophecy.

“Wait a minute. You’re saying that they know nothing of this whole thing? The visions? Nothing?” Allyson was in disbelief at all of this. “What was your plan then buddy? Bring us there and hope to the heavens that your elders decided to have another vision of you finding us? Then some great power going, ‘yo we should tell everyone’, Then everyone just accepting it?!” Hands went to her face as she shook her head.

“Obviously there’s more you’re not telling us, please for the love of the Force tell us the whole truth and nothing more.” Looking towards Kaili she shrugged, “At least we can still turn around and not really have wasted much fuel ya know” [member="Kaili Talith"]

The man-droid remained silent in a glare at both Kaili and Allyson. This wasn’t what he had wanted. That much was obvious. They didn’t blindly follow promises of fame, as far as plans went he seemed to be stumped at the idea of them questioning his motives. Not all seemed to be what he had made them out to be, but Kaili couldn’t make out what it was. He was obviously lying, forcing first contact, but that wasn’t all of it. Something felt left unspoken and the man had stopped speaking altogether. It didn’t make things any easier. Kaili took her seat in the booth again and let her head rest against tented fingers.

“No. No, we’re going.” She groaned. “We’re already a ways in. The plan remains the same.”

The man remained silent, rolled over to another end of the ship and continued his silence. There was little Kaili could do but sigh as the situation unfurled and wound down again. They would be going to that planet because of a man and his ideas of grandeur and aspiration. While it wasn’t known to them at the time, as the women would spend more time on Kiara they would come to realize that Ymar had never been part of the circle of seers, his information had all been second hand and that in the end they too had foreseen his betrayal.

He was, after all, acting on information and rumors that was nearly fourty years out-of-date.

Though, in the present, the thirteen days that remained on the trip passed faster than Kaili would seem to recall. The first few of them had been a bit tense, but as nerves wound down she and Allyson would find themselves entangled in their reunions again. Ymar had remained silent throughout while Henry and Bait both enjoyed the company of one another much like they always did.

However, as the thirteenth day rolled around, and as the ship finally jolted out of hyperspace things would change. The shake came and Kaili froze for a second before her form pulled away from Allyson by the bed. Two weeks of proximity and it still hadn’t died down. It was still intoxicating to be around the Corellian and the Borleian girl wouldn’t want to change that for anything in the world. Their lips touched one last time before Kaili broke free again and ran to the cockpit.

“Come on,” She urged Allyson. “Let’s see what we got.”

The two entered the cockpit and the first thing that caught their attention was the big vibrant green-blue orb shining before them. Kaili’s jaw dropped as a quiet “Woah.” parted her lips. She looked over the coordinates on the navigational screen and sure enough they had arrived at the exact locations that the man in the droid had provided. Ymar rolled into the pit with the rest of the crew.

“It’s beautiful.” Kaili whispered. “It’s…”

“Home. At last.” The man finished.

Allyson was reluctant to let Kaili out of the bed, but the blonde stirred and knew what she needed to do. Eyes watched as the woman sauntered from their lovers bed and made her way towards the cockpit. Following the Corellian combed her fingers through her brunette hair and was struck by the sight as well. Blinking, her mind faded and filtered the images that she was seeing and she spoke quietly as Kaili remained in awe. “It looks...it looks like Corellia…” The Corellian remembered fondly with pain of her homeworld. Corellians were always so proud of their planet and their way of life - knowing that was destroyed and it would never return always pained her.

Still the sight before them was magnificent and brought happy memories back about the planet that was long since destroyed. Sighing softly, Allyson wrapped her arms around Kaili’s waist and she nuzzled the blonde. She could sense a bit of nerves coming from her, but in the end everything would and could be okay.

“Everything is going to work out and if it doesn’t we leave before things get bad. I’ll always protect you I promise Kaili.” She pulled away, but not before kissing the blonde on the cheek. “Nothing bad is going to happen.” Nodding, she looked towards the droid man and smirked.

“So what do we do first after we land, because honestly, I’d like to work on my tan.” [member="Kaili Talith"]
