Retii would give a half turn, his portly squat profile to the pilot, his wings beating a steady rhythm in the air. A lip would curl against his tusk as if in thought, as if second guessing if he should attempt this path. His forefinger would tap against his thumb, coming together to start a slight slow rub of the skin.

He caught the weary expression drift across the pilots face. Retii didn't have to be an Intelligence Director to comprehend that.

“My agent is bound to an assignment regardless.” the Toydarian Director told Kurt bluntly. There was no venom there, just the fact. It was Kaile’s choice to make. The hot shot former Republic starfighter pilot may believe he knows Vera, but Vera had been working undercover as an embedded agent for years.

One didn’t simply walk away from it.

“Vera can continue her current mission objective.” that creamy belly would peek out as Retii’s shoulders adjusted, lifting the jacket a bit before sliding shut again. He then began to fly slowly over to where Kurt sat.

He came to a stop about a meter from the pilot, hovering in place. Tusks would flash as he spoke, his snout swaying slightly.

“...Or she can be reassigned to the one she had last.”

There was no need for Retii to clarify what he was saying. By Kaile’s decision, she could once again be reassigned to Kurt with her previous objective. Only that this time, Kurt would be fully aware of what this would entail The risk to him, his position at Sif, and potentially, his family were Kaile ever found out by the One Sith.

This time, however, there could very well be distinct requests for locations Kaile would need to gain access to.

That wasn't half as bad he had expected it to be.

It sounded too easy.

It was too easy.

Of course this time he would be aware of what Kaile was doing, who she was, and that likely meant that they would have their strings in deeper. That realization hit him like a ton of bricks. They would have control, or at least some it. They could blackmail him. They could have him go where they wanted, take Kaile where she needed to go. It was a win win for them, and a lose win for Kurt. Kurt eyed the man, watching the Toydarian flap his wings.

"Deal." That word sealed his fate.

Yet what was he supposed to do? Say no? leave Kaile where she was now? No. He had made a promise to her, had made a promise to himself. He needed to get her back, he needed to find her and get her home. It was childish, stupid, and perhaps egotistical, but Kurt wanted his friend, even if that meant working under the claw of the Galactic Alliance.
