One Sith Rebellion - Denon

As others would say out of the faction, there is a thread where concerns can be brought to. While I'm against how things are going on currently, this really is something that should be brought to the public thread for this.

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"] Just seeing all the hate, sarcastic or not, is already burning me out. Why would I want to get involved in something where one of the objectives is to literally to go out of the way and assassinate me and others in a politics-heavy faction? It might make for a good story on one side, but on the other it only prevents it from happening and causes unwarranted grief.
Oh no, I'm a senator that is being targeted. Wooless me.

Greek Civil Warhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_Civil_War
Korean War
Soviet-Afghan War

List goes on an on and on. Proxy wars are a thing and the rebellions, as far as I can tell, are designed to act as a medium for this. It's why Major factions can't actually rebel against other Major factions. But in your grumblings, if you find yourself suggesting something that sounds like it's trending towards rules you would find in an invasion (ally numbers), then you are doing it wrong.

Don't focus on what the OS are doing. Instead, focus on gathering your own support through allies for the rebellion and try and just have fun. And remember that turnabout is fair play.

And finally, look what will happen if you all win. 5 planets isn't such a bad deal.

My biggest criticism about these rules is they simply allow major factions another way to wage invasions against other factions, using the shield of "minor factions."
If rebellions are going to be a thing, they need to be a thing strictly between the minor faction, and the major faction, with no allies on either side. Let it reflect a true rebellion, which is typically isolated with limited interference from outsiders.

I feel this needs to be brought up to site Admins, if the intention is really to give minor factions some leverage, rather than provide another way for major factions to instigate and grieve each other.
Because history doesn't have proxy wars.

I just checked into the Denon thread, I hadn't realized how much progress they had made. We'll need to start responding soon. I know it's hard right now with the Mandalorians and Sith hammering us, but we can get through this.

Anyway, I see they're sporting a lot of biotech for this invasion, so I'm going to finish some subs to address that before I jump in. I'll also be finishing some contract threads to get us some shiny new toys in the armory. I'm not sure if there's been any effort to reach out to other factions, but I'm going to look into that too.

I'm not sure, but I think all subs and contracts need to be in place prior to invasions / rebellions in order to be used, but I could be thinking of something else entirely.

So I'm twiddling my thumbs lately :)

I tagged those in this thread but this goes to anyone interested in the whole faction of course.

The Rebellion is an open sand box thread. There are no pre-determined win-loose objectives. Instead the staff (currently myself and [member="Darth Ophidia"] ) will determine which side won by going on the overall events and story progress of the rebellion.

This means that you can participate in whatever way you like. Everything matters and not just PvP wins/losses, like in the invasion.

So go forth and write how this rebellion turns sour and how the people of Denon throw em evil creepy folks out into space again. ;)

I planned on just evacuating myself with the help of [member="Soell Alberio"], but perhaps I could take a few of Denon's higher government officials with me and spoil the chance of the Sith getting the pleasure. That might earn the GR some bonus points, eh?

Plenty of Vong blowing crap up randomly it looked like though they seem to have quite the amount of artillery. . . .

[member="Mantic Dorn"] Wew, it seems like Denon is a lot more active than Togoria this point. I'll try to jump into this by the weekend. IC, I already had some Kiribian warships in the system as part of my original humanitarian mission there. That included arming the locals to repel the feral canoids and gangs. As far as ground forces go, I can throw some battle droids and Yinchori Dragoons your way if you need it.

While my Padawan won't be able to do much in the terms of influencing the larger picture of this Pseudo-Invasion/Rebellion, I plan on having him move towards some of the Yuuzhan Vong transports that were mentioned by one of our opposing writers and free the captured Civilians they're taking, in the hopes of denying them of their bounty. Hopefully, once I've completed that objective I'll be able to move Vor'en into a more suitable and supporting role to the forces stationed at the Enclave. ( I know you guys need it, and while I can't do much from an IC standpoint just yet, I can offer my OOC opinion should it be desired.)

Sorry for my walls of text... it's been a few years since I've written a Jedi, even one that is starting from the ground up, and I seem to have gotten carried away... again.

[member="Vor'en Chegor"] Getting carried away with writing is fine. It's a good read :)

I have Kay emptying out a few blocks. So you guys can lure some Vong and such that way, them drop some bombs and such on them. And yes, sweeps are being done to ensure that no civilian is left behind. They are all being transported miles away underground. Kay's working in conjunction with the city officials there, so it's all good :)

We do need all the help we can get! Much apreciated!
