Operation Downfall: Carida [One Sith vs. Republic]

Location: Cardia City Sewers
Objective: Escape:
Allies: Sith
Enemies: [member="Canal Tal'Verda"] and Republic
...unarmed, not likely considering secondary weapons had been mentioned earlier, was not something it was easy to catch Ronan at being which is why he remained well prepared even without the sniper rifled he'd ditched earlier. As he came down into the sewers Ronan was on his feet, moving down a knee high stream of liquid waste that emptied off an edge and down into a larger, deeper, pool that was then run off down various different tunnels meant to ensure the system itself wasn't backed up. It seemed likely the run off would empty at various points outside Carida City...

...this was Ronan's destination all along until he heard one of the soldiers come down after him and he instinctively reached with his right hand. As Canal came down into the sewers, not far behind Ronan, the Assassin would reach for the Heavy Blaster Pistol he kept on hand and squeeze the trigger for Canal's center mass without even thinking. Of course firing the blaster pistol did nothing to stop the slugs that Canal had fired at Ronan which meant that he remained in the line of fire...

...one of the slugs would hit Ronan, pounding into him just above his right pectoral, and the impact, mitigated to some extent due to the armorweave he was wearing, would have thrown him backwards. There may have been other slugs that hit Ronan as well but it was difficult to tell. Canal's next words would have fallen on deaf ears though...

...after the first slug had pounded into him Ronan was thrown backwards and he would fall, quite unceremoniously, over the edge of the tunnel where the sewer water was draining down into that larger pool. There was a large splash and Ronan sank out of view, probably being filtered down one of the many drainage tunnels that the pool of waste emptied out into, leaving ripples in the water where he'd fallen...

Was he dead? No. Not likely. Anything but a truly devastating shot that damaged his heart or head was survivable thanks to his lineage and his natural healing factor would ensure he regenerated from his wounds in time. Incapacitated was quite possible though. It'd be like looking for a needle in a haystack trying to find him though now; Canal may have defeated the sniper but he probably wasn't going to find him now...

Ki'an Karr darted amongst the soldiers aiding where he was needed. His green blade flashed left and right, up and down as he battered away blaster bolts. His Shien training had just begun so he wasn't adept enough to block everything and often he would find himself ducking and rolling away from heavy fire, but he had found balance in the battle. He aided the troops where he could, darting amongst them. One advantage was the fact that his lightsaber often drew the attention and fire of the Sith soldiers and while this put Ki'an at greater risk, it meant that the Republic soldiers were less hard pressed when he was in the immediate area. This meant that when the soldiers seemed hard pressed, say in the middle of the line, he could go there and soldiers would rally a bit from the respite. This made Ki'an feel good. Amongst all the death, he was able to find peace in knowing that he could help save lives.

Of course, it also meant that he might die. Once already he had almost fallen. He had been amongst a thick contingent of Sith soldiers, cutting left and right, his mind caught up in the zones of attack. Suddenly, just as he had buried his blade beneath the arm of one Sith soldiers he turned to find himself looking down the barrel of a blaster rifle. He couldn't save himself. Time seemed to slow and Ki'an began to bring his blade around but he knew it would never get in front of him in time. Not even the force could help him. But just as the soldier began to compress the trigger on his rifle, his head had jerked back and he fell dead, the blaster from his gun going wide and burning Ki'an along his extra-sensory organ. It wasn't a serious wound, just a scrap but the location made it very painful and Ki'an had been forced to pull back and center himself. He didn't know who had shot the Sith. Perhaps the sniper that seemed to be wrecking havoc on the Sith officers throughout the battlefield? Or perhaps just a soldier or a stray shot? Either way, Ki'an had survived. Perhaps it was the force, or perhaps just dumb luck.

Ki'an brought his saber down in a powerful, two handed slash and nearly cleaved another Sith soldier in two and then dropped down behind some cover. He was covered in sweat and his breath was coming in heavier then he would like. He was tired. Looking out over the battlefield he saw that it was going well for the Republic finally. A large number of soldiers had formed up into a wedge formation and were in the process of breaking up the Sith line. Instead of a unified front, the Sith now appeared to have split into pockets of fighting units. This made it easier to single them out and isolate them from support. Sensing his friend close by, Ki'an rose and rushed over to [member="Tugoro Taidarious"].

"Tugoro," Ki'an shouted in order to be heard over the noise around them, "I think it is time for us to go deal with our little furry friend. What do you think?" He hadn't forgotten his run in with [member="Racket"] and he wanted to settle the score. His knee and ribs were still sore from the last battle with the tiny mammal alien, but the bacta had helped immensely. Ki'an scanned the battlefield again, and stretched out with the force, he figured he would find [member="Racket"] wherever the damage and destruction was heaviest.

With a sigh he ran his hand through his hair, dirt and sweat mixing on his brow and face. He took a moment to collect himself, and his things. Spotting his lightsabers he called him to his hand and clipped them back to his utility belt. That had been one hell of a fight, then again, though he held the knowledge to defend himself and others, he had rarely used it in fights or duels. Maybe it meant he should spend less time meditating and more time training, though if all the Sith were like this, he would need a little more training than the little blaster droids.

Hearing Rosa's voice he turned to face her. He regretted it almost immediately as rubble came hurtling at him, though not giant chunks of permacrete, it still hurt like a mother. When he realized what was happening he reached out in the Force to grab the rest of the debris flung, with his one good arm. What was with this guy, he wouldn't go down!

As Rosa went on the offensive Turn skirted the edge of the fight, and noticed the bone protruding from the giant whale-man. Reaching out with his good arm, he gripped the bone with the Force, tightening his grip near to the strength of Crush, and pulled back, attempting to snap the bone out of the exposed flipper.

The superior mobility of his foe took him by surprise. Orcus swung his great saber at the aphotic lances, but found his blade passed straight through them. He had little defense against Spears of Midnight Black, unskilled in the deeper ways of the Force as he was, and so the first two took him in the chest. One glanced off of the Orbalisk armor, skittering aside and fading into nothing, but the other took him in the upper pectoral and rammed all the way through until it met the underside of an Orbalisk on his back. Orbalisk bellies are unprotected and thus it skewered the parasite and continued on, sailing out of the Herglic's blubbery back.

Blood fountained from Orcus' chest. He stumbled to a halt, doubling over in agony.

It was that pain that ultimately saved him from Rosa's more fatal blow. As she landed behind him and thrust at the back of his head, he hunched over. Instead of impaling him through the skull, her spear drug a furrow along the back of his head before slipping off. Orcus trilled in agony, whipping around with impossible speed nd bringing up his great saber in a one-handed, diagonal slash to carve her from hip to sternum. Yet, at that moment Turin attacked the compound fracture in his other flipper, snapping the exposed bone clean off.

Orcus saw white. He staggered backward. Dark Rage and the Orbalisks kept him conscious, but did not completely negate the pain. He felt as though he'd suddenly been pushed into the deepest, coldest part of the ocean, where the pressure crushed against him and threatened to kill him.

Even as Orcus found himself in dire straits, so did the whole of the One Sith military. They'd begun a retreat and the platoons of soldiers were already pouring back through the starport to get to their shuttles and get off planet. Orcus vision returned after a brief second of stark terror and he witnessed a sea of white armored troops moving to engage the Jedi, even as one shouted words at him that he didn't quite hear.

It sounded like... retreat?

Blasterfire resounded as Republic troops clashed with the One Sith's remaining forces. Orcus glanced between Turin and Rosa, then he opened his mouth and loosed that terrible shriek meant to destroy their faculties and send their inner ears off balance. Without the equilibrium of their inner ears, it would seem as though the world was spinning in all different directions. Balance would be difficult.

Still spurting profusive amounts of bright crimson from his chest, back and flipper, Orcus started to run, aiming to burst past the Jedi and get back to him and his soldiers back to their shuttle.

Anaya gave up her telekinetic grip on the gimer stick as Ashin sought to cast it aside, she made to move forward to close the gap between them, but the sharp force push from Ashin caught her chin, snapping her teeth together and sending her stumbling back two paces. Her anger was ebbing away, giving way to something darker, something that she was all to familiar with. She couldn't beat Ashin toe to toe, she knew that, yet every fibre of her being wanted to make her suffer, wanted to cause her pain like she had caused her.

She had distance, which meant she had time. Time enough to reach into the darkness that fuelled her. The darkness manifested at her fingertips, dark lines carving through the air between them to weave a net. "You are not a Jedi, Desmius. There is too much blood on your hands for you to stand with them." The force net surged forward, seeking to envelop Ashin.
