Operation Downfall: Carida [One Sith vs. Republic]

Location: Plateau near Carida Academy
Objective: Rally Republic troops and push back Sith offensive, secondary objective: Capture [member="Racket"]
Enemies: One Sith
Allies: The Republic

Ki'an had been walking among the soldiers, sometimes he offered encouraging words, sometimes he aided in bandaging wounds, and at other times he stood silently over the bodies of the fallen. The Republic forces had been pushed back to cover and there was a moment of respite while both sides collected their wounded and prepared for another attack. The last attack by the Sith, using a large number of thermal detonators had really decimated the Republic ranks, however soldiers had arrived from the Academy to help suppliment the lost troops.

Ki'an had withdrawn into himself. He had too. The force felt wrong here, with so much death. Walking among the soldiers though, Ki'an had learned that support was inbound. More Republic soldiers were in route and air support was also incoming. This was the Republic's chance to push back the Sith offensive. Ki'an picked up his comm and flagged down [member="Tugoro Taidarious"]. "Ki'an Karr to Tugoro Taidarious," Ki'an said into his comm mic, "We need to push back the Sith offensive. Troops are inbound as is air support. Rally the left flank, form the soldiers up for another push. I'll take the right flank. We need to push the Sith back, or all will be lost. May the force be with you." Ki'an finished.

Ki'an ran off towards the right flank, calling out to soldiers to mount up as he went. Pulling his comm he sent a message out over the Republic comm system, hoping to get the attention of the sniper that had been aiding the battle ( [member="Kiyron "]). "Sniper, I'm sorry I don't know your name, but we are making a final push, we could use any help you can provide."
Next, Ki'an contacted his master who was somewhere on the battlefield, "Master [member="Talon Vosra"], Tugoro and myself are rallying the troops for a final push against the Sith forces. Reinforcements are inbound." Ki'an said, not sure if his master would get the message. [member="Talon Vosra"] had pursued [member="Racket"] and was in the thickest part of the fighting.

When Ki'an reached the right flank of the battle line, the officers had prepared many of the soldiers for the final assault. Ki'an could feel the fear coming off of the soldiers. Many of them were tired and wounded, and even more were raw recruits from the academy. This was there first taste of wholesale slaughter. It was Ki'an's first taste as well and he didn't like it. One of the officers was addressing the men. He was a dark skinned human, his face covered in scars and his hair just starting to turn grey at the temples. He gave off the impression of someone who had survived too many battles such as this.

"Men, look around you. There are Humans, Twileks, Rodians, and even a Kel Dor," He began nodding his head in Ki'an's direction, "and we're all here for the same reason. We are soldiers and citizens of the Republic. That transcends any and all titles." The officer stopped for a moment and his face became hard. "The Sith have killed our friends....our brothers and for that they will pay. We're going to give them hell boys. Are you with me.....ARE YOU WITH ME!" The officer said, his voice rising to a shout at the end. It wasn't the best speech Ki'an had heard, it wasn't even very good. But the men knew their officer and it had the desired effect.

Turning toward Ki'an the officer saluted. Ki'an had no idea why he had done that. Ki'an held no rank, nor did he know any of the men before him, but it seemed the officer and his men had a very good opinion of Jedi. "We're ready when you are Jedi." He said and Ki'an suddenly found the soldiers eyes on him. Nodding to them, he turned and surveyed the battlefield ahead of them. The Sith soldiers were beginning to grow in number and it appeared that they too were preparing for a final strike. Ki'an grabbed his comm. "Tugoro, green light, commence attack." Ki'an said and silently wished his friend well.

Igniting his green blade, Ki'an leapt over their cover and rushed toward the Sith soldiers. Blaster bolts began flying towards him and he battered them aside, speeding up to close the distance. Ki'an didn't know the soldiers he was fighting with, but he knew soldiers. They tended to be proud and boastful. Having leapt out into battle, Ki'an knew the men would be clambering to catch up, not wanting to be left behind. As Ki'an battered the blaster bolts of the Sith aside, he saw blaster bolts begin to fly over his soldiers, striking down the Sith left and right. Leaping forward Ki'an cut down the closest Sith and all thoughts left him. He acted on instinct and the guiding hand of the force as he cut down Sith left and right. This last push was the final push the Republic forces had in them. It was the breaking point. They would win this battle for the land battle for the Cardia Academy would be lost.

No doubt they heard the clang that their target made. Canal ran to the place where the sniper was. He saw the grate that was lifted which led to the sewers of the city. The hostile probably didn't made it that far cause he was injured. "Oh, you think this game is over?" Without thinking Canal got in the sewers and aimed his rifle to the target and fired ten slugs at him. "Alright, games over pal! Either you come quietly with me or I'm gonna have to do it my way. You do anything stupid I will not hesitate on shooting you. You understand?" And continued aiming the rifle at him. The game was surely over since he has the gun.

A faint, but noticeable beeping would be heard upon the battlefield as Tugoro fought, his legs working to move him from side to side whenever necessary. After shielding [member='Ki'an Karr'] from the grenade attack lead by Racket, the boy had left, leaving him to inject the bacta on his own. Tugoro had never bothered to deactivate his lightsaber, seeing as their was constant conflict all around him. Stepping backwards, the boy would continue to lift his arms and twist his wrists, angling his glowing pink blade in a multitude of ways. The padawan would pivot on his heels gracefully, spinning and ducking whenever needed to prevent himself from dying. Blaster bolts of all different shapes and colors soared through the air around him, some heading for his location, and some past it. The cries of the wounded or dying surrounded Tugoro's mind, as if it were the dark side trying to slip under his skin. Looking down to the comm link he had within his robes, the boy would grasp it with his free hand, now gripping his saber with only one. "Right.." He spoke, his arm extending and slashing forward to bat away several bolts, adjusting the saber's trajectory when appropriate.

A group of soldiers nearby were pinned down, holding their frames against the available cover in a desperate attempt to not die. Back pedaling, Tugoro would begin to make his way over, walking backwards while continuing his defense. He was glad he had practiced the form of Soresu, for it was rather essential at this time. Making his way over to the upturned land, he would glance to the soldiers, cocking his neck forward to urge them to join him. From the academy, and even the sides of the plateau, troops would arrive, running along the grassy plain or climbing up the rocky side. Looking to the east, the boy would spot the Keldor he recognized, who happened to also be surrounded by a group of soldiers. The reinforcements had finally arrived, bolstering the two padawan's forces greatly. Thrusting his arm forward, Tugoro would point saber towards the enemy lines, before screaming out, "ATTACK!"

Jumping down from the mount of earth he had stood on, the padawan would begin to run forward, his blade lifting horizontally in front of him, swinging back and forth to swat away the deadly bolts of energy that advanced on him and the soldiers that followed his battle cry. The two groups would continue to push forward, Republic blaster rifles erupting energy in order to mow the Sith forces down. Eventually they would converge, meeting together in the middle. Giving Ki'an a nod, Tugoro would grin, continuing to battle.

[SIZE=10pt]The smallest spark of annoyed-humor flickered across her features. It quickly disappeared with the pressure on her windpipe. That crooked-smiled, nerf-farm lover. She had a mind to twist his arm around with the force and snap it in multiple places. But that wouldn’t accomplish her objective. With a snap of her fingers, she sent some of the restored energy his way in an expanding wall of invisible force power meant to throw him off his feet and push him several yards down the hall, closer to the door, closer to getting off this planet, and further away from her lovely neck. Kiyron shifted slaty at the message from @Ki'an Karr. So they were going to give it a last push to break the lines. Excellent. Though why they didn't simply withdraw behind the Academy's defenses escaped him. He cursed as he spotted them starting to charge. Try had had a strategic advantage in that entrenched position. That was the way Jedi worked though.

He didn't bother responding to the message. There wasn't enough time. He scanned the Sith lines. There. A high ranking officer. Kiyron set his scope on the man and dialed in. The soldier even had a thermal detonator. Perfect. He lined it up, and squeezed the trigger, watching as the bolt blasted forth, and then detonated the detonator, wrapping the small command post in a ball of flame.

He shifted over, scanning their heavy weaponry. There were some power canisters. He fired another shot, causing those to explode. He had one more left before he needed to reload. He slid the dot on his scope over. So,ex soldiers had erected a small wall to use as cover. Unfortunately for them, it wasn't thick enough to stop a bolt from this rifle. He switched the scope to heat, giving a cold smile as he saw the soldiers crouching down behind. He picked one at random, and squeezed the trigger again. The bolt punched through the wall, leaving a fairly large hole in it, and the soldier behind it crumpled over.

He started moving again, seeking a better angle.

He reacted quickly, the saber in his hand sprung to life long enough for him to deflect the blasts, the final shot forcing him to let go of the saber after the other six bolts weakened his grip. Grunting in pain, the Sith rose to his feet and assumed a stance in preparation for hand to hand combat. On the blood spattered interior of his mask, his face was placid, unaffected by the red that now stained it, and not angered by the attempts on his life. Cale felt nothing, no hate, no anger, nothing at all. He hadn't felt a thing since Coruscant, and he wouldn't start now. His eyes looked to his other, now closer saber, which lie a few feet in front of where Hasjo stood. Great.

Sometimes Precognition worked on its own for the young Master. Often times it did not and he had to concentrate a small bit to even scrape the surface of the power as the future was always flowing. This was one of the times where he neither concentrated or received a life saving warning. What he did receive was a force barrier and a powerful kick in the chest from the Force Bellow. It sent him tumbling through the air. He didn't hear it, thankfully due to his earlier countermeasure but that did not stop the concussive force.

He needed to grab onto something, anything. As he tumbled through the air he mumbled the spell he learned all that time ago from a mysterious Force User. He couldn't remember the name right now though, too much going on. Touch of the Kiin Dray was a powerful spell when utilized properly, and a lifesaver. Energy welled up inside him and his hands became warm as the Force was neaded throughout the palms of his hands and his dexterous digits. Gripping a metal rod protruding from the sealing, the blast could not blow him any further. He winced as the blow popped his shoulder and tore muscle as he strained against the shockwave. It didn't matter. Swinging from the rod, using the Force to propel him forward he landed in front of the massive creature. Lightsabers wouldn't work on-

His thoughts were interrupted as the world began to lose color. His intense blue eyes softened, becoming relaxed as the Force worked through him. He watched as the beast reacted, slowly to Turin though time flowed as normal. The strange living armor about him hummed to him as tiny, blue fractures began running along the collective surface of its plasma resistant shell. They flowed like rivers, though none of the rivers themselves were weak, they were what made the being strong, but they all ran to a single point, center of the large chest. The Force built up around Turin's fist visibly, a blue translucent glow. He threw the punch, powered by the Force and launched a powerful force blast into the one and only weak spot on his armor.

Shatterpoint. An incredible phenomena that was shared among few talented and powerful masters, or the unknowing. Of course this was a one time thing, if his partner or anyone for that matter forced Turin to pull his punch, or pull back all together, the opportunity would be lost virtually forever.

The Jedi Mastered stepped forward, watching his opponent prepare himself for a fist fight. Hasjo clipped back the Saberstaff, retrieving a baton from his weapons belt. This thumb slid down the hilt of the weapon, igniting a four meter long cerulean Lightwhip. He pinched the nozzle and lowered the power setting. It would burn through flesh, but at least the weapon would not slice through bone. He relished in the thought of a fist fight - to provide a greater challenge. But this was a war, and people were losing lives. He had to end it now. He snapped his wrist, the tip of the whip shot towards Cale.

Ashin faced a choice. Shift her focus to protecting her knee, and potentially get overbalanced from the blade lock, or let it hit, in which case she'd lose all focus in general. She opted for the former as the best of a bad lot, much as she didn't like to give ground, especially with the torn-up cantina not far behind her. Her gimer stick had been with her since the cave on Dagobah, and though she didn't have the same bond to it as she did to her sabre or Winterlight, it had been the instrument of her power many times. She snared it with a telekinetic hold; it stopped dead, about two metres to her right. A quick double-step back hopefully kept Anaya from exploiting the moment blade-to-blade, and Ashin kept a firm grip on the floating gimer stick. She attempted to shove it away, to resist and overpower Anaya's telekinetic grip. It was a nothing contest; the stick was not Ashin's weapon of choice in this particular moment. But break someone's telekinetic grip and it might make an opening that a second telekinetic effort could exploit. Like a sharp, focused, gestureless Force push at the corner of Anaya's chin.

Tyrin's focus on her neck broke along with the Force-spawned stranglehold. He was flung down the hallway a few feet, slamming into the closest possible door. That hurt, moderately. She certainly hadn't given her all in that little force push, which was likely the reason his spine was still intact. Jedi were silly creatures, always holding back. He would have to show her the error of her ways.

Tyrin peeled himself from the door, staggering forward and re-igniting his lightsaber. "My only drug is that of love, my sun and stars."

"Unrequited love, evidently." He added, extending his free hand again and spewing forth the twitching, red tendrils of Force Drain for a second time.

Frak him and his tendrils of doom. Free hand went for her blaster and she shot a round of expanding stun rings at her pseudo-lover. One. Two. Three. Hopefully those things would suck-up the blaster-energy as she backpedaled down the hall. She was already a good distance away and if he wanted to expend his own energy chasing after her with his tendrils of sucking-love, then so be it.

"I see how this relationship would work," deadpan-voice called down the hall to Tyrin. "You would just take, take, take. How would our baby-nerf feel?" Slender-digits curled around the activated hilt of her lightsaber. She really wanted to punch him. And she hoped to get close enough to do so. "I bet most of your friends in the sky are gone. I'm giving you one more chance to leave, Lord Tyrin."

Yup, she knew who her pseudo-lover was.

OBJECTIVE: Beat Up [member="Tahira Solo"]

There was a list of things Tyrin prepared when he went up against other Force Users, particularly Jedi. He made sure to think intensively on the different scenarios that could play out. Meticulous planning was the key to victory, and Tyrin was employing his usual strategies as always. There was nothing in his list of prepared tactics and retaliations that accounted for stun blasts. Tyrin did not know how to conjure Force barriers, nor could a lightsaber deflect circular stun blasts. He had no room to outmaneuver three shots, even if he could drop the Force Drain in time to try and move. He was no specialist in the field of enhancement. He couldn't move faster than blaster shots.

One, twice, three times, a stun bolt hit Tyrin square in the chest. The first one had him stumbling back, the Force Drain dying at his fingertips before even sucking out a meaningful amount of energy. The second sent him into the door, his lightsaber deactivating as he dropped it. The third time saw him pressed even further into the portal, after which he fell to his knees and promptly face-planted with an unceremonious thud. An unceremonious thud that he was all too familiar with.

"Cheater." He grunted. All he could manage, now that his mouth was numb from electrical shock.

Lightsaber clipped back to her belt, the pulsing golden-blade dormant once again. Blaster remained raised as she jogged lightly to Tyrin's fallen form. Mangled strands of chestnut hair fell across her brow as she peered down at his fallen form.

"You and I. We're going for a ride." Arm-straightened as she shot another round of stun-rings toward his chest.

Tyrin was already on the threshold of unconsciousness when she started walking over to his prone form, blaster in hand. This would apparently be his last chance to speak before he woke up somewhere unfavorable. This was a rather rotten situation. He had no allies that would come to aid him. No servants that would seek him out. This could only end poorly.

"Baby, please, let me ex-"

No explanation would be offered, as he was swiftly silenced and KO'd by one more shot from Tahira's blaster. How uncivilized.

Instantly Cale sidestepped away from the strike, letting the cerulean streak of energy slip past. Without pause, he shot forward to close the distance between himself and Hasjo. First up he launched a pseudo uppercut, pulling away at the last moment and sinking his knees then spinning so his back faced Hasjo's right side. Once there he launched and elbow back in an attempted strike into his side. Keeping in constant motion, he rose up, hoping to be facing the Jedi's back as he sent and armored knee up for Hasjo.

The lines held as the explosions tossed troopers and dirt through the air. Most of the blast was avoided by ducking down into the foxholes they had created. When the wash of flame and smoke cleared Alpha pushed himself of the ground, ears ringing and visions swimming. He heard the Jedi ask where he'd be needed, heard the speech and saw the charge.

Heavy gunners continued to lay down fusillades of fire into the Sith lines. They were fazed by the explosion but a quick look confirmed that all FP's were still fully operational. As the nearby battalions began their charge Alpha watched them with tactical eyes.

The middle seemed to be the weakest part, so he rose and shouldered his rifle. Calm and composed, armor burned and scorched he stood among the blaster fire, and paused.

then he gave his orders.

"All right boys, no ones gonna beat the 3rd platoon, 23rd Battalion to the punch today. Wedge formation on me, heavy gunners in the middle, riflemen and grenadiers on the flanks. Lets make this place FUBAR!"

The roars that accompanied from the platoon almost drowned out the sounds of the actual battle. As a unit they rose and charged behind the Jedi. Alpha rained down triangular shaped fire patterns into the enemy. The heavy gunners kept pace and unloaded devastating swaths of fire into the Sith, rotary cannons buzzing and smoke pouring from the superheated barrels. The grenadiers unleashed wave after wave of grenades from their launchers, decimating the enemy with min artillery precision.

The spearhead cut hard and fast, blazing a path of glory straight into the enemies front lines.

The incoming Force Blast took the Herglic directly in the chest. Fractures webbed across the chitinous shell of a large orbalisk, splintering it into a dozen pieces as the blast punched through and crushed the parasite like... well, like a bug. The other orbalisks remained intact, each a single living entity. However, white blubber peeked out from the gap in Orcus' armor. A vulnerability, but one that the amphibious mammal had little time to worry about.

Reeling backward from the strength of the shatterpoint-directed blow, Orcus was once more on his feet, though a bit dazed. Through the red haze of Dark Rage he noticed the vines snarling toward him. Obsidian eyes widened, then the blubber of his brow furrowed and he stomped forward. The crimson saber rose and fell in a torrent of viciously powerful strikes that sundered each and every one of the three vines headed toward him.

However, he did not take heed of those that snaked up behind and to the ceiling. A rumbling in the roof caused him to glance up, just in time for a chunk of permacrete rubble to hit him squarely between the eyes. Orcus keeled over onto his back. More chunks of roof fell down to bury the felled Herglic. Inside the barrow of debris, nothing stirred for several seconds.

Then came a sound like a clap of thunder. Chunks of rubble sprayed in every direction, hurtling at speeds a pro-sport pitcher would envy. Orcus breeched the surface of his rocky tomb, bits of rubble tumbling off of him, terrible in his wroth. Blood poured down from a jagged gash between his eyes and his form was covered in pulverized dust. A bone in his left flipper stuck out from the blubber at an odd angle, but the enraged Herglic did not seem to notice.

Orcus charged the Jedi with the speed of a trampling Reek, preceded by a short blast of concussive energy that he loosed from his mouth, intending to knock the Jedi over like holobowling pins.

The man was surpassingly agile and swift. He had not anticipated this in his opponent and before he knew it, Cale was upon him. He tilted his head, expecting the uppercut before being quickly dealt a blow to his waist. An elbow sent him staggering to the left, a knee to his back sent him reeling forward, stumbling several meters ahead. Hasjo threw out his arm in a wide arc, the still activated lightwhip quickly twirled around him in a perfect circular motion. The Exotic Weapons Master grounded his stance, he twisted his body, his legs continued this motion. Water can flow, or it can crash. Be water. The metalloid Nautolan thrust himself in a chaotic and devastating twirl. His lightwhip spun around him in a ferocious whirlwind.

A lot could be accomplished in several seconds. For one, Rosa spied her lightsaber, calling it back to her palm, and returning it to her belt. For another she began to call on the force to reviltalize her tired body. She took another step forward, waiting for some movement. She looked towards Turin "You alrig--" she was cut off by a flash of warning in the force, her ears still deaf to all noise. She threw up another barrier as rubble hurtled towards her. It slammed into it, shattering and stopping short. When the debris stopped flying at her she dropped the barrier a moment too soon as another blast from issued from the siths mouth.

Rosa dropped this time, down one one knee and focused her energy on keeping upright as the blast hit her, sending her skidding back several meters, the impact of the blast left her bruised and her patience was beginning to wear thin. "Enough is enough, Hion." she called to the raging herglic.

Dark spears formed in her hand, three of them hovering about her. She launched two forwards, once pointed for the weak spot Turin had already opened, another for his head. the third she took in her hand and bunching the force in her legs. When Hion was two meters from her she leapt, propelled by the force, pushing over him once more. She landed hard, pain shooting up from where her knee had coneected to the ground. She didn't have time to think about it, she rose and spun, launching the final spear of midnight black at Hions back.
