Invasion Operation Shadowdance: TSE Invasion of NIO-held Muunilinst, Orinackra and Ord Thoden

The Amalgam streaked through the Ionic storm clouds, watching the NIV Confidence as it turned to one side on an emergency move, firing at one of the TSE command vessels.

The Amalgam maintained formation with the rest of Star Scythe Squadron but It wasn't long before other vessels showed up and they started to come under attack.

The Amalgam directed some in her squadron to break off in pairs, harassing Corvettes in a corkscrew pattern that flew every where, directing other corkscrew pattern pairs to fly and concentrate fire on the corvettes guns flying from one end while she and her wing mates cut off attempts to manuever by firing on their engines deftly avoiding the thickest clouds where ionic lightning pulsated, she and her squadron now directed to change tactics, following her in a swarm pattern as she pressed toward the Corvette on another attack run, her swarm tactics combined with a single minded spear assault devastating everything in her path, and actively forcing the defenses of the Corvette to began to concentrate more fire on her Squadron, even as she managed to hit
ships in passing that had been about to attack the craft Darth Banshee Darth Banshee was in.

She took full advantage of her fighter's electronic warfare suite, jamming the transmissions of nearby enemy ships, interfering with the targeting locks on friendly vessels, evading fire in dizzying, insect flight like patterns.

"Hey, Star Scythe 2, get set for an attack run. We're going to kill us some turbolasers!" The Amalgam called out to Seela Leini Seela Leini .

She streaked to the Corvette her squadron had been attacking once again, her fighter able to slip through the shields, sending disruptive jamming signals to the targeting systems of the ship to prevent it's guns getting a lock as she began firing relentlessly on it for daring defend the ship of RIP Carlyle Rausgeber RIP Carlyle Rausgeber . First, strip one of his defenders of its slings and arrows, then keep helping it bleed from the axe wounds delivered by mightier threats. She unleashed a streak of laser fire with her squadron, directing a few to start softening the engines by attacking them directly once more

"I would hope so! So, here's the game! If i touch you with my blade, I win! My plant surge channeling through the blade will activate the intert haemotoxin i just hit you with, I've yet to test using it this way, so, game on!"

A game? This was all a game to her? The battlefield, the endless pain, and suffering caused by war all summed up to a bit of humorous commentary. He himself could not believe it. He had lost so much due to fighting: his family, his friends, those who he called his brothers-in-arms, and the rest of the loyal subjects that gave their lives to the goals of the Order. The words bounced around in his head and with his constant state of pain, it was getting harder to concentrate. Yet he kept a steady hand and eye on his opponent.

Her approach was for a low moving position to a high attack, a swift move that was supposed to cut him in half. The maneuver was easy to spot from a distance, and the setup was like any other fighting pose. The blade reached into the earth, scarring the ground with a path of flora that was not local to Muunilinst. The weapon was truly a peculiar specimen. Seeing the opportunity to block, he used the length of the lightsaber to jab his blade at her own, causing the attack to be stopped short. However, her movement's momentum allowed her to simply recover from his strike and begin a new wave of attacks that caught him off guard.

She was too close for him to use his lightsaber in a manner that was advantageous to him. He had to create distance to combat his opponent efficiently. The Sith attacked ferociously towards him, her movements were sudden and quick to the point where he could not anticipate them. He defended as if his life was on the line, but also he was backpedaling to create distance. With a smooth move, the blade came an inch away from his neck. If he was not paying attention, the attack would have been fatal. Areyon quickly realized that he could no longer play this game. Using the time between strikes, he calmed himself steadily. His breathing came into check once again, and with a hand, he reached into the force to push her away.

The heat from both of their blades made Areyon start to sweat profusely. The armor was started to weigh a bit more, and his lightsaber started to get heavier in his hands. The effects of the battle were starting to get to him. However, he gritted his teeth. He would fight through the pain, the fatigue, and the struggle if it meant surviving.

Blades clashed in a fiery display of sparks showering the two belligerents. The red-eye replacing his natural one, whirled in its socket, scrutinizing and examining its foe. In mere milliseconds it began to accumulate knowledge on Laertia; with each move of hers, each shift of her body, each step of her footwork, each swing of her blade Abaddon would learn more and more about his target.

The movement of her droids took his attention for a brief moment, giving her the opportunity to strike openly at his wrists. Only a mixture of his enhanced reflexes and luck landed her hit on his beskar vambrace. It carved a cut into it but not enough to split it open, mandalorian iron was as resilient as its people.

"Your boat has already sailed."

Abaddon's momentary distraction forced him to withdraw from the clash with an acrobatic leap. He landed gracefully - despite his physique - in the midst of the departing droids; the moment his feet had touched the ground, he spun into a whirlwind of orange and grey hue; a bladestorm to eliminate the droids.

"This is your port of call."

The assassin's arm snapped forward and fired a continuous shatter beam from his wrist-mounted vambrace.

Damian would watch the other Sith drop down from her perch, noting her retort as she decided to break off from the group. But not before casting some kind of force sorcery. It would seem that she had other intentions to cause her own mayhem and destruction aboard the vessel. That would serve them well, as the added chaos would only serve to destabilize the enemy more, making them much easier prey than they already were. Damian would eye the wookiee shortly before turning his attention back forward.

Awwwww, I liked her.

And?

You should really talk to more people, try to live it up

And?

You're doing this again aren't you?

Right, now shut up.

He could feel the voice in his head roll its eyes at the direct nature of Damian. That being said the mild irritation it felt at being silenced was immediately quenched as they continued forward. Any resistance that meet the troopers was mostly disorganized, and most of the men aboard the vessel were either running away from the oncoming Shock Troopers, or trying quite vainly to put up a small fight. To Damian the only difference was whether these dogs would die, or die tired. Disruptor rifles would bark out reports as they advanced, smacking into their foes with crackles of energy and screams of the enemy as they were forcibly disintegrated. To most this weapon was extremely overkill, but to Damian it was perfectly suited to the task. You didn't meet the enemy with a weapon that was equal in nature, no you instead brought down a hammer to annihilate them. And any such mercy that the enemy might have deserved was not reserved for the Imperials. They were animals. They had fought a continuous war against the Sith, brought ruin and destruction to countless worlds, and had refused to stop at nothing to do so. They were clearly above nothing when it came to fighting Damian and others like him, so Damian would return the favor in kind. Which was why when a crewmember threw up his hands and attempted to surrender, Damian let the wookiee tear him apart.

There would be no quarter given.

No mercy offered.

Only death and destruction.

Their advance finally halted as they came across a terminal in the hall, and Damian raised a fist to halt the group. The signal would change to a knife hand to the terminal, and one of the shock troopers would obey immediately. The trooper would approach the terminal, getting out a small slicing kit to plug into the terminal and begin accessing the terminal. It wasn't the bridge so there wouldn't be many controls, but if they could access the network and get a true layout of the vessel, they'd know exactly which way to go. And they might get an idea as to where the Empress was held. The very first thing he was after was schematics, and from there he'd go after whatever else he could gather. Meanwhile across the vessel other squads would continue their advances as well, moving in the directions they had hoped would lead to key systems. Life support, the reactor room, fire control, all of these would be under assault soon enough. Damian would take up a position in the hallway in front of the slicer as he worked, keeping his rifle raised as their assault was halted for a short time, giving the enemy time to recuperate. He could hear down the hall as various crewmembers were calling out their position, and several of them responding as though they were there to respond finally. When a NIO trooper peaked his head around the corner, he would catch a bolt to the face as Damian held his ground. While they were exposed in the hallway, They had the advantage of now being able to shoot as the enemy would try to approach them. He was wondering where the real resistance was, as they'd been here for a minute, and while this vessel was big, it wasn't that big. That the ship was under attack from so many vectors now had to be the reason as to why they were encountering so little resistance.

Damian however was focused on his singular task. He had to recover the Empress, at all costs. And if his enemies were to stick to form, they would no doubt try to overwhelm his position soon, either by blaster or vessel. Which meant he was on the clock, racing against time for when they inevitably decided to sacrifice the vessel and blow it up themselves. The Sith however was settled on what he had to do. He could not fail his master.

To do so, was unthinkable.

Damian's squad of Shock Troopers is stopping their advance to hack a terminal to attempt to locate Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim . Other squads of Shock Troopers are continuing to advance towards their targets of Life Support, the ship's reactor, primary fire control, and communications across the vessel to try and cripple it.

You either die a hero...

It would have been foolish to believe he'd change his mind. Harrsk had always been an adamant man, firmly rooted in tradition. He opposed Enlil's own nomination and subsequent elevation to the position of Grand Vizier more verbosely than most, and many of the measures he authorized in his capacity as Commissioner were cut and dry, and to the King's dismay, completely eschewed any thought of the human element. The danger of Imperialism that he'd championed opposition to manifested in the man before him, ticking away seconds of human life idly watching a weathered chrono. Still, there was nothing in Enlil that loved what had to be done.

"If there was one thing I learned best from our former masters, the Sith, it is that herd must be culled every now and then."

His eyes closed and the Grand Vizier sighed. "In the end, their beliefs and values did not die with Kyber Dark," he lamented. "Long we labored to bring an end to their tyranny, but in the hour of our people's greatest need, you would take up the very thing we broke from the Sith to wage war against."

Rage filled his eyes in a way it had not since Generis. The flames of righteous fury sparked to life and fanned into an inferno within the King as he stared deep into the soul of Jaeger Harrsk. He weighed the man, and his convictions, and took his measure. "And you think me the enemy." He raised his hand immediately at the call of danger from the incorporeal. Ethereal light wove itself around Enlil like a cocoon as he took action only to defend himself, barely able to react to the sudden torrent of energy that assailed him.

Defense against blasters with the Force was unsustainable. Fatigue, both mental and physical would set in. Against a weathered Imperial veteran, a battle at long range became one of attrition, and as they had proven in their war with the Sith, men like the Commissioner were exceptionally skilled at playing the long game. As his ward soaked the heat and displaced the kinetic energy, he utilized the screen of reddish-orange light that flashed in front of him to dive out of the direct line of fire.

Jaeger could track and adjust, but a moving target presented less opportunity for a marksman to focus an array of shots on him. He had to ensure that the panel was not compromised either, or the opportunity to withdraw the order would be gone forever. No. Harrsk needed to be drawn away from the console before he got the idea to sabotage it. His own health came second to the thousands, no, millions of lives at risk.

With a snap of his fingers, the molten energies that Enlil had shunted along the surface of his shield coalesced, writhing like a serpent born of flame. It slithered along the air current, superheating each breath he took and drying his mouth out. He flicked his wrist in a circular motion as he ran, and the stream of fire snaked around behind Harrsk, threatening to engulf him if he did not retreat from it.

Get him away from the console. Get him on the defensive. Disarm him.

"How does it feel, Harrsk? To become the very thing you swore to destroy?"

Objective: III - Front Hydra
Equipment: The Marrow Blade
Themes: Here

His thrust would see her slamming down on his weapon and rolling over the top of it, narrowly missing his neck with her first strike as she would attempt to lay into him in extreme close range combat, keeping her blade close to herself as the man clad in silver and black would dance backwards, surprisingly nimble in his armour as her weapon would sing through the air around him, stepping back from a cut to his leading foot, leaning and evading from her strikes and blocking with his weapon when he was able to do so. The shark-toothed smile would broaden, she'd gotten so close. Thrusting once with her flurry upwards for one of his wrists she would move to bring the blade horizontally across for his head bringing it diagonally down towards his other shoulder to be blocked by the pike. Opening her mouth to make a quip about having almost gotten him that time, attempting to lighten the mood. This man seemed so serious~

But no sooner than she opened her mouth to do so, she felt something, a pressure change. It was a sudden low throbbing bass tone as the force push connected with her chest, slamming into her hard enough that her body collapsed around it, bones bending rapidly, several cracking and splintering under the force. Her joints pulling to the point of tearing as her solitary slightly forward momentum was abruptly upended, reversing as she would be thrown backwards as little more than a rag-doll with her light lithe frame leaving no weight to resist him, her saber clattering out of her hands and sprawling across the battlefield.

Marrow's right arm had already been injured by the crash, the push exacerbated the wound tearing it a little more open and causing more internal damage around the shoulder and arm, enough that she felt like the strength in that arm was beginning to wilt more and more with oncoming damage, cradling it as she would move to sense any internal damage she had taken through her body. Stress fractures, across her chest, shoulders and one of her shins... another hit like that and she might break a lot. Cradling her arm on the ground she would let out a groan as pain would set in over the adrenaline of the combat.

Is... is this man not playing? Like the man from Malachor? Did he want to hurt her? But she'd said she wanted to be friends, she wasn't going to hurt him... It was just a game to see if he would let her pass.... right...?

The creature looked baffled, confused, like she'd been lied to or betrayed by a friend. Not too long ago she would not have had the facilities to recognize such actions, but, the beginnings of concrete operational thought had come with the other qualities of the woman she had absorbed. Her innocent world-view didn't have room for something as wide-scale as war, the egocentric child couldn't maintain the sheer scope of the horror yet alone the implications. Instead, her world revolved around herself, the people she knew, little more than a mesosphere of influence as her fingers of her good arm gripped the dirt. Pushing herself to her hands and knees. "I-uhm... That hurt... a lot...owowow." Her voice was slight, strained and stressing as her opponent would converge on her.

She could hear the crying out of the people around her, the numbers of the men and women she had bought with her were beginning to wane, they were dying, not by accident or because they were taking this all too far, their blood couldn't even reach fertile soil. So why were they dying? Is this what war is? People dying? A cull of a species to separate the meek from the strong, like was always the case when an invasive species culture moved in on another in the insect or plant world. Did Master Shaper know this? He knew how angry she had been with him the last time she had been sent in blind...

But she was older now, and she could still feel the comforting presence of her garden through the force, centering her mind as she would feel an uncharacteristic wave of calm. Feeling her senses move over the battlefield, feeling a familiar sensation amongst them... someone she knew. Taking a deep breath and focusing she thought she was beginning to understand. It took three battles, but, she could feel her garden beginning to grow, the formations reflecting the connections made in her own mind as they would cement into her long term knowledge.

This, is war. And she was terrified.

RIVER OF BLOOD

To be set near her in placid indifference was...strange, to say the least. But once more, war made everything else feel a bit smaller. Personal alignments, grudges and conflicts washed away in the wake of the total conflict that raged around them. And at their exchange, Genesis and the 501st took the field together again. Much akin to Task Force Hellhound in the New Imperial Order’s initial assault on Harnaidan. Rest In Peace to Kan Belisarius. For all Irveric and Lyra’s relationship was, he was the lightning rod to the infantry actions that took place on Harnaidan.

He’d wished he was here with them again today, reliable subordinates came far slower than they left. Because in the end, to be a good, effective combat leader, one had to be made of the ‘right stuff’ and those very same machinations led to the death of the enemy just as often as it manifested in the sacrifice of its bearer. The first battle of Harnaidan showed that in spades. By the time the ash, dust and gore settled, the city’s second round through the crucible wouldn’t be any different.

<“You went hunting the cache of that psychopath? Suppose it’s all better in our hands than anyone else’s...and it explains his flagship flashing sporadically on our commscans...good work.”> He admitted. In that moment he tried to recall the last time he’d ever truly complimented her on anything at all. Certainly must have been Ord Cantrell, not long after the failed assault on Dantooine. As recent as those days were in relative reality, they seemed like a different world or another galactic era in-between then and now.

<"Pretty simple for our anniversary to hit the wayside when you've been on the run for months now and- not to mention...war."> Tavlar snapped back in reply. While the Genesis Rangers led the way for the rest of the 501st attached to Irveric's command, as soon as targets were spotted, they were pinged back to Imperial army indirect fire assets who began to drop the iron rain.

Immediately, a high priority transmission hit Irveric's comms. The signature is what perplexed him over anything else. Trade Defense Force, financial district. They were perhaps the single contingent not directly attached to the New Imperial Armed Forces, charged with guarding the heavily secured New Imperial stock and securities exchange, the IMP500. While the IMP500 was not a primary strategic objective to the defense of Harnaidan, with trading immediately halting on the onset of the conflict, the assets from the Sith Empire overtaking it, certainly were.

<"This is Spectre-Actual, TDF, requesting immediate refinforcements to Aurek-Two-Five, we have identified Carnif-"> He didn't need to hear the end of it even as the transmission was cut to realize the topic of distress.

Kaine Zambrano.

Bold of him to return here, now. Running from his Empire only to join them in their excursion to the very venue of his first defeat. His expressionless visor glanced the way of Lyra who nodded for her to follow his lead. Accompanied by a cadre of 501st troopers and Genesis Rangers, they were soon at the IMP500, ready to storm. Advancing up the stone steps they made their way through the main entrance, Irveric drawing his pistol and peering down the sights of the miasmic chaos that awaited them.

They'd encountered briefly, by a stroke of fate. But here- here would be the true battle of wills.

The Glow of Death VII - POOR WEE SITH-TROOPER LADDIE!

'Fhathast a ’cluich balbh, a bheil?'
*Still playing dumb, is he?

Reed had been busy softening up the POW for the Lord-Commander, and had gone to great lengths to prepare the interrogation for the next phase. Letting him sit on a chair or lie on a gurney was too easy for someone the Wildcats considered worse than scum, so the prisoner would need to be propped up by cable-ties and his own armour, held in place between two curtain-rails as his feet slid back-and-forth on the marble floor beneath. The helm, greaves, cuirass and shoulder-plates for the Sith-trooper armour had all been removed, revealing a black-tshirt that was becoming more drenched in his sweat with every passing minute; though the blood from his face and his head was intermingling with the perspiration, further darkening the black of the tshirt in the dim-lit back-corner of the lounge's coat-ticket booth, casting quite a grim sight for any who'd dare look on with a sympathetic eye.

'Aidh, ach tha na sùilean fhathast ag innse sgeulachd eadar-dhealaichte gu tur!'
*Aye, but the eyes are still telling a different story entirely!

Clapping his victim jestingly on the shoulder, as if the brutalisation of the enemy trooper's face was just fun and games, the Captain chuckled in the knowledge that the rage he felt towards the Sith had been sated for a time, even if only for a short while. Then, as Ginge was wiping the blood off his knuckles, his fingers and his palms with a rag, he looked on the sorry state of the captive once more, appraising his work like he'd just sculpted a masterpiece before tossing the rag to one side and taking a closer look at the ribcage. Grimacing at the misshapen swelling around the left side, Alun looked up to his hopeless foe and amiably decided,'Ah 'hink ah'll just take a wee coffee-break, let the boss man ask his questions-', in the most matter-of-fact tone he could muster whilst dealing with the exertion pains of throwing almost twenty minutes worth of punches.
If it had been Berach Ulrand.... Pretty sure I'd still be hearin' punches the-noo. Still, no bad for a Miltoner.

'-Deagh naidheachd, Caiptean!'
*Excellent news

The Woad had been specifically brutish in his methods, breaking as many bones in his enemy's body as he could, all whilst hurling a barrage of insult-addled prods for information; all quite terrifying for the young trooper, singing like a canary after just five minutes of,"Interrogation". However, both Reed and Gowrie knew there was yet more juicy intel to be drawn from the captive, hearing certain pauses at rather revealing moments in the sickening, horrifyingly-loud process; giving rise to the Lord-Colonel's need to stick to their native language, it was clear from the moment the Sith-trooper first answered their questions that the POW needed to be kept guessing on almost every front, and to keep compounding his feelings of fear and powerlessness as they continued. The Lord-Commander's footsteps would be heard walking closer in marching-cadence soon after, finally heralding in his belated participation as the POW looked on in search of the Galidraani menace in the shadows, with heart thumping to audibly stressed extremes.

WD9vJLV.gif

'Happy hunting, Milord....'

Pulling a barbershop razor from his right pocket, it appeared that the Kellas was done waiting in the shadows, and was seemingly ready to end his captive's life as soon as he'd heard all he needed to hear; and as the lamp's light danced across the silvery steel of the blade, the pupils of the Sith-trooper's eyes constricted as Lord Aron slowly, and playfully flicked the razor out from it's folded place within the grip. All the emotions in the trooper's eyes came flooding to the surface, but he was still transfixed on the razor itself to let those emotions burst forth in sobs or cries for mercy, and it was in this exact moment that the Lord-Colonel knew he had the POW right where he wanted him to be. However, just as Gowrie was about to speak in Tuath to apply the last piece of necessary pressure, the recognizable vibrating bleep of his datapad cut through the tense silence like a meat-cleaver. It was a very-timely message from a fellow wartime-maverick, one he very much desired to meet after hearing what Barran had told of his bravery on Csilla, and that of his Dunwall Irregulars; to let this opportunity slide by would be a crime to the strategy the Wildcats were implementing.

<<This is Devil One.

If you would oblige us, allow us to draw 'em in just a hair. Lord Tal has ordered us in the vanguard, and a vanguard he shall have. Just gonna be playing on our terms this time around. Got surprises lined up all along the city. Will be in touch soon.
Devil One out!>>

Tyrell Lockhart, eh? Oh, suhin's tellin' me this op's gonnae be a beauty!

'I'll be right back, Sith-boi. It appears I have rather important matters to attend to....'

<<A pleasure, Lockhart.
I like the comm-silence idea, got too much traffic going on as it is. Will try and do what I can, but I have an idea that could align with your need to play the game on our terms. Why don't you just steal the Sith-scum's ordnance? We've already gotten MLVs, ammo-trucks and flak-gear, with more stuff expected from our wee magpies as the op progresses. Who knows? We might just have enough to bolster our numbers when the time is right to strike out. Think about it.

All of her doubts regarding the Amalgam’s ability to acclimatize herself to a new interceptor were immediately quelled when she saw the Witch in action, flying the Tuk’ata with preternatural skill that spoke to years, if not centuries of experience flying such craft, if the rumors were true. SV-2121 found that she had to give her all to keep up, as the Amalgam directed her squadron to fly in unpredictable corkscrew patterns in order to avoid the wrath of defensive fire. In seeing the Amalgam activate her electronic warfare systems, SV-2121 did the same, knowing that while the systems of one small craft would only be moderately effective in countering the robust targeting systems of a capital ship, when utilized in concert, they could seriously impede the operation of enemy fire control units.

“Copy that, Scythe One!” The Twi’lek ace answered, as she pulled her craft in a reverse chandelle, angling the chin towards the corvette. “I’ll be right behind you!”

In moments, Star Scythe squadron was upon the corvette, biting their fangs into the warship’s hull in an effort to take the ship down in a collective strike. As she closed in, SV-2121 gave the command to fire a pair of energy torpedoes, one after the other, both aimed for the corvette’s engines. Then, she skimmed her interceptor along the hull, the wing-mounted disruptor cannons spitting fire as she targeted turbolaser emplacements, point defense systems, and missile launchers.

All the while, SV-2121 maintained her awareness not only on what was directly in front of her, but also around her and within the battlespace as a whole. The wheels in her mind turned, especially as she took in the readings from her sensors, indicating a large group of New Imperial frigates and carriers closing in on Star Scythe squadron’s position. Hayabusa starfighters ( Albrecht F. Herlock Albrecht F. Herlock ) moved ahead, probing towards the edge of the asteroid field and closer to their position.’

They were almost within engagement range.

“Scythe One, contacts approaching the field!” Her voice sang out over comms. “Are we taking them here or in the asteroids?”

That twisted his intestines, blood boiling through his veins. It disgusted him to know that there were still sects of Mandalorians that did the bidding of the Sith. Fools, all of them. Once he entered service to the Sith, specifically the former Dark Lord Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex , doing as he was ordered and compensated for his work. The greed of credits and promises of a new age of Mandalorians kept him in that servitude, becoming a glorified hound for the Sith and their ambitions. That glory was intoxicating and blinding, making the Mandalorian to forget about his values. The price was paid when Sith laid devastation on Mandalore, all life burned and its crust broken just to strip the planet of its beskar.

What remains of it today? A barren wasteland, a scar imprinted on Mandalorian history. The birthplace of their culture desolated, yet there were Mandalorians that fought for those that stripped them of their home? Of whatever pride they had left in them?

<"Then they will learn the errors of their greed and pride of being Sith lapdogs.">

Unworthy to speak his tongue and to wear that iconic armor.

<"Let us see if their blood holds any value to their credits and tainted honor.">

Nearing the complex of the spaceport his sensors detected the presence of the enemy, Mandalorians taking positions and finding whatever structures to barricade their makeshift defenses.

<"These are not our kin, hold no remorse to their deaths!">

He sure wouldn't as the missile of his repulsorpack launched into a gathering of Mandalorians.

Vilaz only hoped those in the Manda would forgive them for their sins, for he would not be as forgiving.

Kesran marched alongside the Sith Lord and the following column of Sith troops as they made their way towards the capital, towards ultimate victory. Today they would once again break the pathetic traitors who dared to deny Sith rule, order, and security. If they would not see the error of their decisions, Kesran would make them.

After pulling a very impressive feat with the force, the man turned to Kesran and spoke profoundly.
Kesran would soon answer back with quickness and confidence, "Yes my master, I will not disappoint, nor we will fail".

His new master, was more powerful than his previous one. Yes the previous had been a reigning Dark Lord, but he could not match the power and prestige of Kesran's new Sith master. His new teacher was supposedly an ancient Sith Immortal, who had been part of the first group of Sith who arrived at Korriban after being banished by the petulant Jedi Order. To Kesran it sounded a bit of an embellishment, but after spending even a short amount of time with his new master, he realized that was no embellishment. whatsoever.

He was internally very excited about training under such a powerful Sith Lord, and better yet, his new mentor had just been crowned as the new Sith Emperor.

Kesran continued alongside his master, as he deflected shrapnel with a Force Barrier and soon cast it aside into an adjacent building. They continued forward.

The Shaper, as he was called, turned to a nearby communications officer, and asked for them to contact Moff Drybis Lyken Moff Drybis Lyken and Grand Moff Decimus immediately. They soon obeyed and soon the two Moffs appeared before the Emperor.

Kesran didn't know the Grand Moff well, but he definitely was acquainted with Moff Lyken. Prior to Kesran's arrival in the Sith Empire, he knew very little about its leadership and just anything else about it. After his incredibly lengthy journey to even reach his new affiliation, Kesran found himself with no connections to even enter the hierarchy and even seek mentorship in the the ways of the Sith. He was so unsure. Did he need to apply? Did he need to just find a Sith and pledge himself? Did he need to have paperwork to even enter the Sith Order? Shortly after arriving in the Belderone system, a Sith Imperial warship entered the system, tasked with rooting out the local insurgency causing disorder and destruction to the trading posts with the system itself. Kesran had met this insurgents, but instead of aiding them, Kesran offered his aid to the commanding officer of the vessel, a newly appointed Moff Lyken. Over the next 5 days, they tracked and eventually annihilated the insurgents and their main base, ending the threat and restoring order to the local region. Once learning of Kesran's journey and purpose, Lyken offered to escort him to the capital of the Empire, Dromund Kaas and he also provided access codes and landing permits as well. The two men started a correspondence and eventually began an unlikely alliance. So much to the point, where Lyken revealed the identity and purpose of his top secret project to his new Sith ally. Clearly seeing the potential in Kesran, to one day become a major figure within not just the Sith Empire, but within the galaxy itself, Lyken made a big investment in this young Sith acolyte and hoped it would one day pay off. For Moff Lyken was the first piece in the gradually building power base that Kesran was forming. As an ancient Sith once said, "Without a power base, a Sith can never truly ascend". Kesran knows of this and desires to ascend to the highest places of the Sith hierarchy.

Kesran refocused as the Emperor spoke to the two officials. Just as he would seem to finish, he turned his gaze on the young acolyte. Just as he did, Kesran could feel a slight tremor in the force. A few moments later, he realized it was close and was getting closer. His master gave him a hard look, confirming Kesran suspicions and also confirming that he was aware of it as well. He soon turned back and finished speaking to the Moffs. Afterwards, while Kesran scanned the area, searching for the tremor, which had grown, the Shaper turned his eyes towards the top of a building. Kesran could also feel the presence closing in on them. Taking the lead, he yelled back to the troopers closest to his rear, "Weapons ready men". They acknowledged and prepared themselves for combat. Soon, a few New Imperial shocktroopers would leap out and engage the forces at the far back of the troop column. Kesran was drawn to the commotion at first, but was brought back quickly as he sensed the tremor nearing. He sensed......

He sensed....

Jedi...

He now felt the figure approaching from behind him. Then soon after, they ignited their saber and prepared to drive it through Kesran. As they neared into range, Kesran quickly turned and saw the Jedi. They were an odd one. To Kesran, it looked to be a Chiss, or perhaps a Chiss hybrid, judging by the pink skin. From that he deduced, that they were a Zeltron. Whatever they were, they were very large and muscular. He had the thought that it was a woman, which he wasn't sure why that popped into his brain. They could have been, but certainly weren't competing for any contests. If she was a woman, she was quite the behemoth of a female. Large veiny muscles, with intricate tattoos along her arms. She was most certainly a strong combatant. Even though Kesran lacked the psychical ability to match her, he would rely on something more, elemental , to get the job done here. From his opponent's look and expression, they seemed to believe Kesran was just a walk in the park. Huh, if they did think that, they couldn't have been more wrong. One needs more than just strength to win a fight.

He gave a faint smile as the large Jedi came barreling at him. With Kesran now quickly turning in a matter of milliseconds to face his enemy, he would then immediately grasp his lightsaber located on his thin utility belt. Would Kesran really risk engaging this one in a psychical duel? Would he?

And then, just before the Jedi's blade struck home, Kesran unleashed his other hand from his side. He rapidly, with insane speed, hurled both hands forwards with palms outstretched. He then immediately summoned a force push to send the reckless Jedi back to wherever he had come from. Kesran might have proven that he needed work with his saber skills since his duel with PERSENUS PERSENUS on Frego some time ago. However, few force adepts could match him in the force. For his innate power in the force, his immense raw elemental fury and potential is surely a large part of what drove his first master and then later the Shaper to take him on as an apprentice. For Kesran wasn't the biggest or strongest combatant, he made up for that with his immense power. Unfortunately, such a reliance has its costs, though Kesran would let none see them nor their effects.

Perhaps a second or two before the Jedi was to land their slashing blow, the Force Push, that he sent immediately at the incoming Jedi, would be virtually impossible to stop or evade since the Padawan was so close when Kesran unleashed the counter. It wouldn't tear through his flesh or send him across the planet, but it would certainly force the Jedi whelp back many several feet.

Kesran now realized that his master was about to engage another Jedi who had fired an explosive arrow towards the Emperor. Kesran had ended up a good distance from his master, when combat began, so whatever explosion came from the arrow, only small bits of shrapnel would reach him if any.

As the Jedi would eventually come back to face him, Kesran realized he had seen this Jedi before, but where? And when?

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark;
the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.

WHY'D YOU BRING A SHOTGUN TO THE PARTY

ef4Yg3s.png

Some t––Some time to get it prepared?! Ishida’s perplexed countenance only deepened and she gestured this through the rain. She might have emphasized the need to get a move on even more, but her need to continue being the distraction begged attention. Her role hadn’t changed, even if time had.

You are steel. If you lose your temper, you lose your worth. The ghostly echoes of her father’s instruction reverberated in the distant psyche’s of her mind, reinforced with an overlay from Sardun’s instruction. His threat to strike her down lest she be anything more than neutral when taking lives. There was no delight in slaughter, no matter how wicked the corpse had been.

Tempering herself, she exhaled and side-stepped another bolt that whizzed by. Starting at her pinky and all the way down to her thumb, she thrummed her fingers against the hilt of her blade. Bernard needed time, but the numbers of opposition were growing; and she was the only distraction. It would be so much more efficient for her to leap forward into the fray, like a whirling dervish and cut the enemy down.

These soldiers were practically begging to be bitten by the retribution of her sword and crash into the mud; the ground they didn’t deserve to regain. The Bogan had been thwarted from this place, and she’d see to it that it remained so.

Just before she altered her approach and leaped into the troopers, the nape of her neck pinched. Grey eyes snapped in the direction of the source, and in an instant, a gossamer bubble erected like a shield from the ground up over her head in a crescent dome shape.

Fire and buttery-coloured water roared and splashed against her telekinetic barrier, threatening its integrity and spider webbing on impact after impact. Noodles slid down, creating a pile at her feet. The cart itself had been made of metal, and pieces of it shattered outward; seeking purchase in flesh but instead pelting at the shield. Some merchandise from neighbouring tents also splattered against her bubble: Replica hilts –– toy lightsabers that looked like Imperial Knights that made realistic sounds but extended harmless shafts of brilliant white light, pastries that had been rolled into the Iron Sun’s symbol with some sort of red fruit in the space between each extension and the centre circle, and small Metal-faced dolls in the likeness of Rurik Fel that said something when it was squeezed. Two of the dolls slammed against her bubble, and one hit its little belly hard enough to make a sound like a gruff
“You are nothing!”.

She dropped to a knee, eventually letting the shield drop when the soup and fire deluge stopped.

“What the––” she murmured, swiping her blade at a rogue noodle that fell from the sky. Severed, it fell harmlessly to the ground. Her eyes snapped to the collection of troopers that had been moving in on her position. Unthinkingly, she lifted the pile of noodles at her feet visor-level for them, slapping the doughy lengths against their helmets.

It wasn’t until she marked their position that she realized hers too had changed. The pressure from the blast had pushed her back several feet, despite the shield. They were closer now, fast-moving in the threat of being consumed by flames.

She wanted to kill them now...strike them down...but she felt too emotional. Too excited by it.

Somehow, she was deeply afraid, Sardun would know. And he’d chastise her.

Or worse.

Ishida grunted, and made another gesture with her extended arm. With a powerful gust, ties and tethers quickly unfastened and became undone, the tarp covering of a booth whipping through the air with a loud flutter to encompass and further obstruct the trio of troopers advancing on her.

On top of being a little ways away from where she’d started, Ishida was having some trouble hearing over the din of the marketplace, which had escalated in volume since the explosion. Blaster bolts had a set trajectory, and they’d been focusing on the Jedi, the citizens could run the other direction and guarantee some metric of safety. Explosions were a little less predictable; which made their panic louder. Even if it was distant.

So if Bernard was talking, she wasn’t sure she could hear him.

With time bought from the entanglement of tarp, she pressed the comm to her ear.

There seemed to be no movement from within the stalls, and Bernard hadn’t re-appeared to the streets. Was this…...what was his plan? Was he still slive? Had the noodles pho’k’d him up? These questions were the nonsensical, empty premonitions of anxiety and impatience. Useless wonderings that distracted her from ––––

<I lived,>
<how about you?>

She released a breath she didn’t know she’d been holding, and scrambled to her feet. Any relief she’d felt was swiftly replaced with the need to be efficient and survive.

<Great. Get your plan on the move!> Ishida barked, obviously vexed. She peered in the direction she thought she could hear his voice in real-time, and not just over their shared comms.

Her eyes narrowed.

<I'll get the bomber.>

She felt better and better as she weakened, becoming almost empty. That seven hours seemed to be overestimated very badly. Now tried to move because the seat was uncomfortable, but she couldn't do it. The bonds kept her motionless. Ingrid’s head fell forward, gasping for air. Because of the previous beating, her hair also stood back and forth, the flame-red strands falling forward untidy, their end was just a smoky shadow. She will not be able to keep her human form… her original for too long anymore, what Onrai took away from her alongside with the Night Spirit.

Ingrid could feel her body struggling with the “poison”, but she couldn’t push them out of herself, Rausgeber’s little “worms” continued to feast on her, so her injuries weren’t further regenerated. If she fed, it might work, but the Force was blocked on the bridge. It may not have affected the woman, but everyone else did. Maybe she could use it to feed her race's ability, but now she felt everyone was too far away, they would have had to be closer to reach and absorb their life force.

Suddenly a gentle hand reached her face, the hallucination of her dead husband. She didn't like to see that facial expression on the man. Same anxious look as on Bastion. Where she sensed what the man would have done to the NIO's men to save her. Where Force-bond formed, where her husband could also realise he loved her. But now she was not really here, there was not a single dying Karza’arana that could have been used. And against the Ravenous, her husband might have been not enough too. Maybe carbon freezing…

~ I'll be with you soon, handsome! ~ she smiled in thought at her husband.

Adrian protested that the woman shouldn't even think about it, there's still a reason to stay, there's Tubrok and the children. Typically, he did not directly mention the Eternal Empire or work. The Sith Lord stroked her cheek again and kissed her gently. Ingrid didn't have much strength to kiss him back not even in her thoughts. But she promised to try to fight, but only because Adrian had asked her to.

Opened her eyes, still panting, everything hurt, she continued to see vaguely. Ingrid needed to know something before she would die. She had previously told Djorn Bline Djorn Bline that a state based on hatred would disintegrate and be torn apart from within, because nothing could be based on that, it would not hold anything together for long. Had to know. Of course she had ideas, several were possible by calculation, including betrayal and intent, to intentionally test her and thus want to neutralise the Eternal Empire.

"Mr. Kurze, please tell me, genuinely. It doesn't have much significance to lie anymore, we both know the Admiral Regent underestimated the amount of "poison"… why? Why did you and the Regent Admiral want to release me? I was fair all along, I didn’t try to escape, I cooperated except on issues and questions that would have endangered the Eternal Empire. The Triumvirate wants to keep me in captivity… why did you and the Grand Admiral betrayed them? Or would that be their test to see what I’m good at in such a situation, Mr. Kurze?" she asked, her voice trembling a little and weak but still military and emotionless.

Sith forces continued to pour into Harnaidan as Tithe and his retinue hurried toward their waiting shuttle and their chance at freedom. Already the scars of battle, wrought by friendly and enemy weapons fire, were appearing on the Muun's neoclassical buildings. While the Sith had bombed the planet in the wake of their defeat to deny it to the New Imperial Order, a massive rebuilding project funded by the Trade Federation and the IMP500's immeasurable proceeds had restored the city to its former glory.

But that glory was under threat. The Sith and their war machines threw themselves against the New Imperial defenders, who were joined in battle by Galactic Alliance soldiers and Silver Jedi Concord warriors. Fierce fighting in the streets was matched only by the aerial and orbit combat high above.

Tithe and his close protection team rounded another corner, drawing closer to his shuttle and their means of escape. The Vice Chancellor began running through what he needed to do once they were airborne - contact Adhira and give her an update on the summits with the NIO and the Sith invasion, have his senior chief of staff draft a statement condemning the Sith attack, call his accountant and get his credits off Muunilinst as soon as possible…

His careful planning was interrupted by a figure dropping from overhead. Within seconds a golden blade had cleaved through his close protection team. He backed into a wall, finding himself with nowhere else to do and the only survivor of the sudden yet deadly ambush. The lightsaber was levelled at Tithe, its wielder demanding to know where he was going.

“Evacuating the city,” he explained matter of factly, a career of finance and politics giving him a level of deception rivalled by few in the galaxy. He would not have found success in either career were it not for his opportunity to talk his way out of dangerous situations. “I’m but a simple banker, caught up in this most distressing assailment. I’ll gladly go on my way, I’m sure you have more pressing, ah, matters to attend to.”

Location: An Escape Pod in the Aether

ZtcXRU8.png

Carlyle felt the pod jolt and stutter as the NIV Grimace’s tractor beam hauled the pod in. It rather ruined his view of the en masse evacuation from the Confidence he witnessed. A flurry of escape pods launched just behind his. The trip to the second vessel had been mercifully quick, and the escape pods engines hadn’t even settled when they began to feel that raw pull. As momentum slowed Admiral Regent reached to his seat and unsealed himself from his chair, watching and waiting as the sounds of metallic scrapes subsided. Clamping was complete.

The hatch unsealed, and Rausgeber was met by several New Imperial marines, and one officer. Commander, Senior Grade. “Admiral Regent!” She offered the typical salute, “Commander First Class Irileth Tua, Captain Starth has ordered me to collect you.” The Admiral Regent nodded, and clambered out. He stretched his legs upon entry to the retrieval bay, and brushed his hands against his crisp white uniform. Streaks of the not yet dried blood of the Emperess smeared his uniform. “Are you injured sir?”

No commander,” Rausgeber allowed himself a small smile, “I am certainly not.” He paused and clicked his tongue, “To the bridge Commander, as of my entry here, I am retaining command. My flag is here, and this will be the centre of operations.” Carlyle informed the subordinate officer as they marched through the confines of the vessel. The dull roar of alarm klaxons radiated through the vessel.

Of course sir.” Tua reported filled with zeal, “We are at full readiness for combat positions. All batteries primed and ready. And all engineering crews at positions.” Carlyle gave a dutiful nod, “We’ve also sir, picked up a number of distress calls milord. Further escape pods launched from the Confidence. We’ll be fixing to-“

Carlyle could already sense that the Mandalorian thought akin to him, “Don’t bother with too many of them Commander.” Carlyle coolly chided, “They were a decoy. Distraction. This operation will certainly be… irregular in scope.” Carlyle informed her. That was perhaps the part he hated most but conversely admired about the Mandalorian folk. Their capacity for great violence and simultaneous ingenuity. For now, he would be banking on that irregularity of doctrine. “They were just a-!” A buzz from his pocket. His personal communicator. Someone was hailing him. The Admiral Regent grimaced and looked at the Commander, “Hold that thought.” He turned on the communications device and looked upon the caller.

Of course it was her. The Emperess had to have the last word. His expression was neutral as she foisted upon herself the virtues of her loyalty. And then laid upon him lavish promises of wealth. Of owning Pa’Desh, and then tried to spin some backstory for himself. It would’ve all been so tempting. Had it not been so fruitless. Prefsbelt IV was where his true loyalty lay. To the soldiers who for the past decade had fought relentlessly in the wilderness against the Ssi-Ruuvi, pirates, raiders and usurpers. And she expected, quite brazenly for the man to give that all up. For what purpose? His own gain? And leave the masses who had for so long relied on his guidance and leadership sundry? And even yet, at the mercy of a regime who may not be too merciful without their messiah. It was inconceivable to just turn allegiances like that.

Carlyle sighed, and continued to March forward, now with double the pace. “Your Majesty what you fail to realise was that my original proposition to you was not an offer. It was a position. One of finality, with no bargaining like common traders able to sate my terms.” He continued marching forward, “And your… your honeyed words and promises of dominion fall upon the ears of a man with much greater conviction and priorities than perhaps those you are typically associate with or are under your employ.” Carlyle continued, chortling slightly.

With all due respect your majesty, you seem to have misread myself and my purpose entirely. I never wanted Pa’Desh, or overlordship of the system.” Carlyle informed her. His tone was cooled, stern and pointed, “I could never as an outsider hope to tame such a backward dungheap. I merely wanted the timely and amicable retrieval of my equipment and assets still sequestered there.” He clicked his tongue, letting it stick out slightly like the forked tongue of a lizard, “And you have, in your addled state conflated some reasonably minor concessions of property repossession with that with the domination of one of the most backwards planets of the known galaxy.”

Carlyle mused, his tone became more vicious as he continued, “So to trade my people. The survivors of my homeland, my comrades and fellow patriots is nowhere near as equitable an equation as you believe.” Carlyle thundered, his tone becoming tauter and tauter as he continued, “I will not betray them for the promises of an Empress whose a hostage. And betray the greatest machine of change this Galaxy has seen in decades. Especially for an impossible role of running an problematic system on behalf of an Empire whose irrelevance continues to be highlighted by its lack of leadership.” Carlyle’s gaze settled into a smirk.

I do sincerely hope this is the last we speak today your majesty.” Carlyle added, “For currently, I have a battle to win. And your further captivity to ensure. Now if you don’t mind, please pay heed to Mr Kurze and politely shut up.” With that, Rausgeber terminated the transmission. There was no need to listen any further. He had made his position clear. Carlyle paused as he entered the turbolift to the bridge, turning to face the commander. “Where were we again? My apologies.” He clicked the console and watched the lifts door close.

Escape pods milord.” Commander Tua reminded him, standing to attention before him as the turbolift churned its way through the Grimace’s superstructue. Carlyle sighed, and tempered his train of thought. Of course. It did appear at least somewhat confusion to contravene the time honoured tradition of rescuing comrades. He could not leave the Grimace in the dark.

It is a diversion Commander, pick up a few sure, but they are a secondary concern.” Carlyle continued as the door to the command deck opened. The bridge stilled itself, and saluted its patron with great enthusiasm and vigour. “At ease,” Rausgeber barked, “Return to your posts.” He added, striding across the deck. “Captain, what is the strategic situation?”

Admiral Regent,” Captain Luka Starth growled, approaching his commander with a extended hand, “A pleasure milord.” Carlyle took it, and shook firmly, now this was how one greeted a superior. Confidence. Bravery. Starth then paused and then gestured to the strategic display nested on a holographic table. There the battle sat, floating in suspended animation.

As it sits sir, we have currently reformed our line, and the Confidence is proceeding ahead to the main Sith force.” Starth continued, approaching with Carlyle keenly following, “Corvettes under Task Force 58 have proceeded to engage forces at close range. He is being in turn harassed by enemy fighter craft.” Starth paused again, and gestured deeper into the storm, “The Sith appear to have deployed a number of small drones, irrelevant individually, but as a combined force they present a threat.”

Reinforcements have been dispatched as well milord,” Starth added, which gave Carlyle some wry amusement. “Task Force Azure Hammer and one Admiral Harz have arrived. The former to our flank, the latter to our rear.” He then paused, and gestured to the force before Azure Hammer, “The force here is being closed in on by a significant Sith formation. It is largely outdated though. Nothing we haven’t seen before.”

Carlyle mused and looked at the display, the Sith force was formidable. But he knew he had to trust in what the Mandalorian intended. He had given the man his word and seal for that matter. So he deserved so much. “Move our escolta and warrior-ii’s to optimal fighter defence coverage.” Carlyle commanded, “We will press forward. The Sith Empire have no real predilection toward down and out brawling. We’ll punish them for that.” He paused, “Have Captain Halvar, regroup with Task Force 58. Have them pull back to our defensive screen, and prepare for an attack.”

Should the Confidence be performing the manoeuvre I believe it is,” Rausgeber raised and a finger with a smile, “And I dare say I do, it will act as a blocking force for the immediate vessel before us.” He paused, “Azure Hammer is to proceed, dead ahead.” Carlyle continued, “A full on charge and use its might to envelope their opponent. Isolate. And destroy totally before pressing further and flanking our enemy.” He paused, “We’ll slow our speed,” He continued, “Have Harz catch up, and then we’ll double our pace. Circumvent the Confidence, and then, we will see about engaging them ship to ship. Fighters and drones will be useless when we’re one on one slugging it out with them.”

The officer watched without believing what he was seeing. His vessels had maintained the shield of debris as much as possible, focusing a good amount of energy on it. The reactors had been shut down for discretion and energy redirection but were ready to pulse back to life at the second they were needed. From what he had under his eyes, Gallius knew this was going to be a victory. His ships were superior in every way to those the Sith had brought to the battlefield, and even if they had been positioned well enough, the Commodore had other trap cards to play on this battlefield.

He was surprised to see escape pods coming out of the Corvette but soon realised what was going on. They had sacrificed one of their three ships to pierce the shield of debris. Congratulations. They had lost one ship without inflicting a scratch to their enemies. It was truly pitiful. The Sith could have been patient and rise above the shield, they could have been cocky and use their own tractor beams... They had been foolish and had sacrificed a ship to overcome the first difficulty.

"Very well... Good play, Sith. Now let's see what you have truly in the guts. Prepare Janus's death compilation and cease the tractor beams maneuver. We are moving in to engage."

Gallius saw the enemy ships target his hangar bays and suspect a renewed attack there as soon as they passed the debris. He had to act quickly. Janus's last gift would help destabilise the enemy troops, but it would not win the battle. No, a good strategy would win the battle. He had to be smarter, but also careful. He had to be on the verge of danger if he wanted... Blood.
addkebt.png
The wall began to lose its consistency as the tractor beams released their holds. Now was the time to fight and grab the enemy's throat. The fighters and bombers had been launched as the wall formed, and swarmed the lower section of the many fighter carriers of the Azure Hammer Command. They were ready to strike and intercept, and protect their home ships. Gallius analysed the composition of the battle with great intensity and drew corrective moves for his ships. The crescent faded and was replaced by a fist: the lighter ships were reorganising to cover most of the Pride of the Emperor's hull with cover fire and layers of shields.

One wall had disintegrated under the Sith's assault, another one was already forming.

And then the Corvette came. Thrusting itself through the hole in the shield of debris, all weapons firing towards the hangar bays, the anarchic construct of older warships began to dash to the underbelly of the Cuirassier-class Cruiser. Its many turbolasers and laser cannons rained fire in an attempt to weaken the shields and... breach their defences at the hangars? Gallius was unsure of what they were trying to do, but he did not let himself destroy without reacting.

"Seal the hangar bay and turn our broadside towards this corvette! Aim for the bridge and dispatch the Imperial Hand and Eternal Crusader to deal with that slime! Full throttle, the Commodore almost shouted to the Ensign.
"Very well sir. Also... Janus is ready to serve once more sir. Shall we..."
"No, not yet. Wait for the Harrower to come before we do anything. Do we have any status report from Javelin? Gallius interrupted, his frustration growing again.
"No, sir, I'm sorry... He does not seem to be on the battlefield, sir."

The officer growled and tried to focus on his target. If Javelin was not on the battlefield, then his own presence was pointless. All he had come for was three Sith vessels and a debris field? He was losing his time. Without the defector, all was falling apart. At least he could have the pleasure of spilling some blood. Maybe the voices would comfort him after all...
Gallius went back to the observation pane. The enemy Corvette would soon be dealt with, thanks to the combined fire of the Caçadores and his own flagship. Then, the Sith would have nothing left. Preparing his offensive, the Commodore calculated the most useful and safe vectors to the Harrower. He had to be merciless.

But as the brawl against the Corvette went on, broadsides after broadsides, Gallius notices a boarding party making its way through the field of debris. Two squadrons of troop carriers, and at least the same amount of fighters and bombers. Without losing his calm, he left the command of the battle to the Ensign and focused on the new attackers. He had 21 squadrons of fighters of various type at his disposal, further supported by 25 squadrons of support crafts, bombers and the like. He could deal with the enemy boarding gamble whilst maintaining a thorough defence layer.

He assigned 11 squadrons of fighters to the protection of the fleet and ordered the Cygnus and Imperial Paragon to spearhead the counterattack, aided by 8 squadrons of fighters and 2 gunboat squadrons. They would intercept the boarding craft and disable them as quickly as possible. The rest of the fighters would be held in reserve to defend the bombers and be the last line of defence. Gallius counted on Razor Squadron to be at peak performance and effectively rout the enemy last-ditch offensive.

Finally, he launched the counter-boarding measures. He could not help but anticipate the moment when a rogue transport would have broke out and landed. He ordered the counter-boarding troops to deploy immediately, prepared to seal the secondary hangars and lock their armoured doors, and left the bridge, directly to his office, where he would wear his chestplate and grab his weapons. No one would gain control of his ship. He would rather die than concede defeat.

"Sir, Admiral Rausgeber has requested we take the offensive and swarm Moff Lyken's starboard side immediately. He is launching a three-pronged attack and needs our support, the Lithonian told to his Commodore as he made his way towards the observation pane.
"Status report on the lower shields? I cannot let that flotilla destroy me from behind... a rather worried Gallius responded.
"The energy shields are holding for the moment, sir, we are working at 87 per cent of capacity. We are at 100 per cent for the particle shields. The debris sometimes comes in contact but we are able to regenerate the shield much quickly."
"Excellent. Prepare the fleet to advance forward. Target the Harrower Cruiser and use the fastest way at disposal. The Caçadores will form the rearguard, and keep us safe of the enemy Corvette. Full speed ahead!"

The Azure Hammer Command began to reorganise once again, forming a speartip that would thrust itself against the sparse enemy warships. They could win if they managed to defeat small groups time and again. Should the Sith regroup, however, the mission would be more difficult. The vessels began to change position, the Cuirassier forming the head of the formation, followed by the fleet carriers and flanked by the ship to ship brawlers. As ordered, the Caçadores were forming the rear, engaged against the Sith Corvette. The three vessels dashed and maneuvered, but the New Imperial vessels would prove ultimately superior by force of number and guns if the Sith didn't think of something quick.

Without looking back at the ships he was leaving to battle to the death, Gallius commandeered his ships forward. Their destiny awaited them at the heart of the battle, near the Confidence...

The Shaper had barely requested a report from the pair of Moffs when a third frequency was relayed to him. The Alor had been successful in his task it seemed and a satisfied, tight smile answered though he was fully aware the Mandalorian in question could not see it. "Excellently done Sir Kyrdoll, you and your people certainly live up to every lege-....." The Shaper's words paused, dying on his lips in a mere moment as he felt the all too familiar sensation of Force Light blossom into existence in a nearby building. By itself? Hardly. Turning with supernatural swiftness The Shaper would raise a hand and direct the False Light of the Whilstones as the first arrow rang out, snuffing out the Light that tipped the arrow, and allowing him to seize it in the Force. His enhanced eyesight following along it's path of trajectory as the second arrow blossomed now, it's Light searing and damning. Before he exchanged fire between himself and his unknown assailant. Throwing her first arrow back at her while manipulating the air about the second to give it a firm, displacing gust to drive it prematurely into the ruined Muunilinst streets between them. Letting it's explosion kick up a cloud of rubble and dust while the first would be for Allyson Locke Allyson Locke to deal with.

He had hardly done so, the wind whipping at the cape behind him before he commented dryly to the Mandalorian ".... I'll have to return your call good Sir. It seems I've encountered some trouble." Sensing more than seeing the other assailant The Shaper waved a hand towards her dismissively. Not quite a sneer on his features as he began to warp reality around him. "Deal with this cretin, Apprentice, I shall attend to the rulers of this planet myself." Vanishing in a whirl of dust, darkness and ash The Shaper would reappear closer to the front now pushing for Harnaidan's capitol building as war raged all around him. He only idly glanced back toward where he was certain the offending attack had come from before throwing his voice back to Allyson to echo all around her as he scaled the capitol's steps. Cutting down defenders as he went, crushing emplacements with swift, precise executions of Force Crush. "Come after me if you dare, little Shadow."

Sweeping into the capitol building The Shaper paused before the doors of the council chambers where the ruling body of the Muuns gathered, their politicians and sycophants. Where their treachery, their impudence and disloyalty, would be found wanting. Drawing back his hands, the Force hissing in pain as The Shaper's anger at the slight to his Empire rent the Force mercilessly to his will, he would begin to crush and rend the doors from their hinges. The large, ornate structures buckling and groaning under the strain while The Shaper utilized the energy from the Whilstones to crush, grip, fling and otherwise horribly maim any Muun gaurds thhat attempted to stop him. Only once the great twin doors were brought down, crashing down powerfully on either side of the Emperor of the Sith, would the Shaper shrug the dust from his cape and stride through the haze into the chambers. Leaving a trail of destruction and corpses in his wake for Allyson Locke Allyson Locke to follow. A fierce grin alighting his features as he gazed upon the gathered rulers of Muunilinst and spoke clear, firmly in a voice laced with a promise of death behind a practiced smile and wicked, seething intelligence. "Gentlemuun. I would like to.... discuss matters of new management with you."

One thing is for sure, Adrian didn’t want to let the soldiers hit and beat him. He may not have loved to fight, but neither did he want the soldiers to beat him. That's why he pulled his cane with a telekinetic to himself and then hung the assault rifle's gun-stock so that it wouldn't hit him. For a moment, he managed to surprise the soldier with all this, although Force Using may not have been the best idea, because apparently the soldiers didn’t like it very much.

The other one also stepped closer and the one standing over Adrian tried to strike him again. The boy quickly hit his leg with the cane, swept away the soldier's leg, then hit the soldier's head with the crow's beak in the head. The sharp metallic part tore through the soldier's helmet and slammed into his forehead, killing the man immediately. No one said the young man is not dangerous, only that he hates to fight.

But, if his life depended on it, he was ready to defend himself. The other soldier angrily raised his gun to shoot the young man. He no longer had time to do much, so he threw a card at the soldier's armour. Upon impact, the card immediately “behaved” according to a flash grenade. Due the helmet it didn’t have too much of an effect on the soldier, as it protected him from the impact and effect, but it disturbed him for a few moments.

Adrian started running again.

For an instant, the rising fireball devoured even the rain, a saint of destruction spreading her wings over them.

Eva let out an involuntary squeal of terror as an eight-inch shard of durasteel shrapnel tore through the front of the market stall and whizzed past her face. She could feel other pieces of the noodle cart hitting her improvised cover, and found herself acutely aware of just how lucky she'd been; a slightly different angle, and the holes torn through the fruit-seller's stand would have been ripped right through her as well. Her plan had been reckless, and she was just now realizing quite how reckless... but the fact that she hadn't yet been skewered by a Jedi probably meant it had worked to drive them back. She doubted that she'd seriously hurt them, though.

In all the legends she'd heard, the mystical warriors could survive almost anything.

Behind her, she could hear the Hero of the Empire was directing his troops forward. Eva murmured a little prayer for them; Zenik, Kafka, and Irinov were presumably still back there, advancing into the middle of the firefight. Cautiously, she poked her head up over the counter of the fruit stall, staring past pulped juma fruit - some of it still smoldering - to survey the square. There were little fires burning everywhere, slowly being drowned by the unceasing rain. Multiple booths had been completely flattened by the shockwave, though Eva couldn't see any bodies among the wreckage. Part of her was glad for that, though she knew she shouldn't be.

Soldiers had to kill people. That was how they won. She just wasn't sure how she'd feel about her first kill.

In the wake of the explosion, she caught just a glimpse of the Jedi woman's power: a shimmering barrier of pure white energy, inviolate against the barrage - though a few spiderweb cracks had appeared along its surface where durasteel fragments had struck it. Eva had to admit that it was strangely beautiful... even though it was also terrifying. What could any of the troopers storming the square possibly do against someone who could do that? Her lightsaber threw aside blaster bolts with ease, even bouncing them back and turning them into weapons against those who'd fired them, and clearly explosions and projectiles were useless against her as well.

And then, with a flick of her hand, the Jedi even wielded the noodles against the approaching troopers.

Ducking the delicious barrage that slapped onto the helmet visors of the men behind her, the young corporal gripped her rifle hard and tried to steady her breathing. What the feth was she supposed to do here? Before her eyes, another flick of the Jedi's hand sent a tarp soaring up the street. In an instant, it wrapped up the other three members of her SICA squad, dropping them in a heap of wriggling canvas. Her jaw dropped... again. She supposed she was just glad that the Jedi hadn't killed them outright, as she almost certainly could have. Eva had never met a Sith, but she desperately wished that one were here, to counter this living goddess.

Dashing out of her makeshift cover, the young soldier drew the survival knife she'd bought alongside her hunting rifle earlier in the week. With a few quick cuts she sawed through the tangled synthecord ropes that had secured the tarp, then tore the canvas aside. "Move!" she shouted at the three confused troopers she found inside, heedless of the fact that she was giving her Sergeant an order. "Get to cover!" They reacted slowly, stunned by their fall; she had to give them a chance to get to their feet and out of the line of fire. Eva stowed the knife and raised her rifle to her shoulder. Shooting at the Jedi would be worse than useless... so she aimed at the sky.

Several of the skycutters hovering over the market had been knocked around by the explosion, but they still remained close by, held by their tethers. Eva took aim at the nearest one, tracking carefully along its underside. She'd worked on a lot of repulsorlift vehicles back on her family farm on Soullex; all the harvesters had used engines that probably weren't too dissimilar to the ones the skycutters had. She envisioned the power systems, where they'd be and how they'd feed into the repulsors. Focusing in on a single point on the underside of the hull, she breathed out slowly, steadying her aim. She envision the cutter as an overgrown womp rat...

And she aimed right for its beating heart, a perfect killshot.

Of course, from thirty meters away on a rainy, chaotic urban battlefield, things didn't work out quite like the holovids. Eva was a good shot, but she wasn't a trained sniper, and her rifle was meant for light hunting and target shooting at most. So the first shot didn't cripple the skycutter, not by a long shot... but the burst that followed, as fast as her semiauto hunting rifle could pour out fire, eventually ripped through the bottom of the vehicle. The blaster barrage struck the engine, and the cutter's repulsorlifts sputtered, then died. The vehicle, still attached to its tether, fell from the sky, crashing down on top of several market stalls just ahead of Eva's position.

With any luck, it would squash that Jedi woman flat. If not, it would at least form a barrier between them.

KNIGHTS OF THE EMPIRE
NEW IMPERIAL ORDER

Lightsaber Pike | Armor

The Sith had been blown back from the overwhelming force of the push.

Areyon looked at his opponent's damaged body. She laid on the green-stained ground, in pain and suffering. Aeryon was not willing to pull any punches. He knew his fight was not being taken seriously. This was a silly game for his opponent. a form of entertainment in all of the chaos and destruction. To him, it felt that the Sith were attacking home, but it was a completely new planet.

Step by step, he took came closer to the Sith warrior on the ground. She had suffered a lot more damage than what could have discovered at a first glance. Bruised and nearly defeated. He held his lightsaber pike firm in his grasp and pointed the blade straight for her.

"Your little game is over. Surrender now, and your death will be quick and painless." He said to her grounded body.

Although he was in control of the situation, the unease started to settle in. The terror of war fell in place once again, replacing the calm that was previously in his mind. His stormtrooper squad was nearly wiped out behind him. The screams of civilians as they cower in the fear of being slaughtered by Sith resonated in his ears. All of it angered him, as he was simply confused rather than actually irritated. Outside of Bastion, Areyon never experienced any other culture outside of his own. He had only seen the horrors of war in the training simulations. The stories that were told from household to household detailed the tragic details, but never captured the full scope of what was to come, not to mention the hidden details being left out for the sake of age. Know, he had seen battle on multiple different planets and on multiple different fronts. He had a strong desire for victory and anything that would push ego. He spent so much time on the battlefield, that eventually war was all he knew. With battle, it gets increasingly difficult and new terms come into play. One can only hope that the war ends with the minimum amount of casualties.

For a sane man, it would be enough to break him.
