Organizing the Military (Dev. Thread, Open to All)

It was then that a noise would be made or maybe more accurately a chime would be heard signaling someone had to speak. Kiyala may not be here as a Senator which was rather good considering Senator wasn't even a position available on Alderaan but the Republic saw fit to appoint a noble from the Organa house to be one regardless of their planetary disposition. However, Kiyala chose not to take the measure of disrespect with anger instead she'd continue doing as she does, Kiyala would still be allowed a seat here considering any decision regarding Alderaan could still be revoked on Alderaan; you know the whole separation of state and federal type of thing.

"I agree with the soldier here but not completely therefore I suggest a compromise. These jedi that we would be officially allowing into our armies are loyal no doubt but to the order before the Republic. I think if were going to have Jedi within our ranks throwing around their fancy powers and teachings that they should at least be indoctrination into the military lifestyle meaning having to take up the most basic of soldier training before being allowed all these special rankings within the military. Or another route we could go is why not have our own Jedi, the Jedi are peacekeepers and the last thing we want them to do is becoming the warlords of skill that our military is. So why not hold training of our own force users that will be completely loyal to the Republic in case the Jedi ever decide to back out with their support."

"Compromise is always an option, Lady @[member="Kiyala Demont"]." Alena said with a nod. "I'm willing to include in the bill that Jedi who wish to enter the service as part of the military would have to be indoctrinated before being accepted into his or her position within the Republic Armed Forces. Would this be agreeable?" the senator inquired, looking at the Jedi present in the room. (@[member="Kiskla Grayson"] @[member="Carn Dista"])

Ayumi Pallopides

Heir to the Emperor, Former Senator of Denon
Ayumi heard the woman, the queen of Alderaan and mused to herself as she entered. Something interesting was happening but her voice came out showing some humor, as a rep and junior she had yet to truly find a place aside from tinkering and working within the GIA. "Have you met a real jedi? Not these ones, not the ones who try to keep peace then want to pretend they are doing it for a cause. A real jedi, someone who is righteous in their cause that protecting by all means is needed."

"Can you imagine what such a creature would be like? One hand dipped in blood while the other tries to hold love, we don't need our own order of force users in the Republic. We have ones who can use the force and they are not deemed required to receive jedi training so why force them to do the same? No what we have are advisers and friends. One who have worked with the Republic to defend against those who we can't protect ourselves from." Her face remained passive but still held more humor.

"Besides the jedi aren't going to leave the Republic unless we force them out, as has been stated many times in the past. It is something most are tired of going over and I see little need for it still. Now..." She trailed off. "Indoctrination? Really? We aren't brainwashing people to service we are not an empire using fear and propaganda."

Persephone waited her turn, then after @[member="Ayumi Pallopides"] was done, made a motion to speak. When given the authority, she added, "I believe what Senator @[member="Alena Beswin"] means is that any Jedi serving in an officer capacity must go through the same basic training as that of the Republic military counterparts. At the very least, basic combat training, military combat training, and if needed, officer's school to ensure that a level of respect and a commonality is acquired."

"While the respect may not be guaranteed," her aquamarine eyes went drifting over to @[member="Doc"] "As an example from the Sergeant," she brought back her gaze to the assembly, "At the very least, one can aspire to a camaraderie from interacting in such an environment."

Carn Dista

Guest
Carn finally stepped forwards, stowing his datapad within his robes once more. "Should the senators wish for the opinion of the council on requiring the Jedi to go through an officer training course reflected by their position in the order prior to military action, I am sure that myself and Master Grayson could bring the notion before the Council. Naturally I would advise waiting to hear back from the Order first before going ahead with the idea, in order to retain a sense of democratic fairness... Although personally, I cannot see much wrong with the idea, for a Jedi always seeks to expand their knowledge."

Senator Beswin gave a nod to Senator @[member="Persephone Callas"], thankful that the Hapan senator had clarified what Alena had meant by having the Jedi 'indoctrinated'. She glanced at another Jedi Master who spoke, who informed that he and Master Grayson would bring the notion before the Jedi Council.

"Thank you, Master Jedi. Now, do we have any other suggestions on the bill?"

It was not often that the Ankai had got involed in Republic affairs; in fact, Mnencheiasus as a theocratic monarchy was suffice to remain as it was and to its own devices, leaving the choices of the greater whole to the 'big-wigs.' However, this was not one such case, and as such, it demanded the queen's attention - or so she felt. Her personal cruiser had landed somewhere among the city, in sanctioned military docks, and forth from it poured out herself and those entrusted with her care. Their guns were left behind, but each was an armored individual of considerable hereditary stock. As the Ankai was still loath to leave her care in the hands of foreigners - the one ideal she did not share with the hearty Galactic Republic - her personal detail manned her entire route. Her defense was even stronger than the Senate's, which came across as excessive first but also served to remind them all of the importance of not only her position politically but socially.
Finally, the Ankai arrived at the meeting where she would address her concerns quite clearly and well-organized. In through the doors she buts, though it was a personal guard who held open each of the two and waited for her just outside of the facility. She did not have her sabers or any guns on her, but did have her sword, as there were few disrespects and insults as taking a blade from it's Mnenchei crafter; the Republic wasn't all to eager to upset its newest guests who made quite the donation to its forces.
"Yes, Senator," she replied, her voice deepened to its native state by the condensor-rebreathers around her neck. "I have some input on the matter of the Galactic Republic Military."
Alachei didn't sit, she always preferred to stand, and did so in her spot by the back center of the room with her arms folded, patient and stoic.
"As you may be more than likely aware, when the Mnenchei Dominion returned to the Mnenchei Monarchy and had joined the Galactic Republic, we were promised the same protection and care as its planetary territories and in turn donated virtually all of our Royal Navy and many of our own soldiers to the greater whole. As far as I am aware, these units remain unchecked and unorganized aside from their original organizational structures. In total over six hundred imperial star destroyers were donated, some of which directly contributed to the dissection and understanding of the naval technologies behind the Sith Empire. As well, over two thousand warships, three thousand military vehicles, hundreds of atmospheric craft, millions of guns, armor and pre-equipped militants were passed over."
The once-sovereign queen began to slowly pace in line, still in her comfortable fold.
"The full scope of the Mnenchei Dominion Royal Forces personnel was a grand total of approximately twenty-five million men and women. Of that twenty five million, all but eight million were conscripted via draft to secure the new Dominion order, which was done so swiftly and effectively upon the formation of the Dominion in question. When the Dominion... ceased to be... and the Monarchy became a state of the Galactic Republic, roughly half of those personnel were offered retirement and a return home. That's twelve point five million individuals. Of that twelve, an astonishing thirty percent chose to remain and further pursue careers in the royal armed forces. Casualties, do to the lack of war in the region, were at an all-time low casualty rate not only for the Ri'essi Sector, but for the whole of the Unknown. Death by unnatural causes was virtually inexistent and crime within the other Ri'essi Sector worlds were minimal. Ah, I may have carried on some. You may be wondering my point." The Ankai paused at a standstill in her original spot. "I believe it only just that I request the role of commanding office over the Mnencheiasus Corps, the Languor Air Group, Mnencheiasus Fighter Group and Mnencheiasus Intercept Group, the latter two of which I have personally organized prior. These consist of the Languor Aerospace Superiority Starfighter, the Ventus-Class Fighter Interceptor, the quad-engine LAAT/R and any additional fighter or bomber aircraft produced on contract for the role. The Mnencheiasus Corps currently utilizes the AUG blaster rifle and TJR-01 Battle Armor, which I would prefer remain the primary armament of the corps in question. With all due respect, these individuals have always been loyal to the Ankai, and would operate with the most ease and productivity under my command. I would also like to take the opportunity to address the matter of the self-policing policy of the State of the Mnenchei Monarchy, as the greater half of the Mnenchei worlds in light of their absence of direct Republic influence, and as such, thusly has no Security Force representation. The capital of Mnencheiasus and by extension Sikune is also self-governed as per agreement, bound to local and state law, with the exception of Galactic Republic federal laws. This force is self-sufficient and as such requires no direct military aid or supplementation. That is all."

This link is of direct relevance to the thread, as it involves military assets aforementioned above that should probably be in the Manifest at this point in time.

Edit: Fixed a typo, uncolored a non-talk line and one wrong word.

Name-calling drained her patience, and her body visibly tensed. Mostly because nobody had escorted the intruder out. Before she could unleash her silver tongue however, there were many others intruding, including the senator who had graciously arranged this bill. She was wonderful at keeping her cool.

This was enlightening though, and one of the members suggested forcing the Jedi from The Republic. Then what kind of Republic would they be? There were a lot of backhanded comments, and the idea of indoctrinating was pathetic. Absolutely pathetic, she was going to step on Carn's toes and blatantly object with her gifted speech, but another intruded. So she remained silent for the time being.

With the introduction of a new person who Theo did not recognize Theo had waited one more time before speaking. He certainly had a suggestion about the bill but there was certainly no need to begin a shouting match to speak over each other. Defiantly when they spoke they gave Theo that much more knowledge. He defiantly disliked the crude behavior one individual was showing in the room. Nor did he approve of the soldier physically assaulting a Senate Guard. Not only was it distasteful it was a crime.

Alena listened politely to Senator @[member="Alachei Mnemenos"] talk about his opinion on the military. "With all due respect, Senator Mnemenos, I believe this exactly isn't the time and place to discuss this idea here. I find it worthy of a meeting, however, I am hosting the meeting today and I am interested in getting feedback on the current draft legislation. I suggest you have a separate meeting regarding this, after we pass this bill and have an organized military to add your forces to." Senator Beswin spoke, in the most polite way possible.

"It appears as though Master @[member="Kiskla Grayson"] and Senator @[member="Theodosius"] are ready to share their opinions regarding this matter. Feel free to speak, Master Jedi and senator."

Yusan watched the conversations silently, his eyes drifting from Senator to Jedi to Senator again in turn. Every once and a while glancing to the window as his mind drifted on to something else, his ears though remained turned to the conversation, to anyone it looked as if the Vice Chancellor didnt even care for the meeting but even as he thought he listened so as to keep from him looking like a moron should her be called on. There were several he knew, including @[member="Alena Beswin"], @[member="Theodosius"], @[member="Carn Dista"], and @[member="Kiyala Demont"]. There were others he didnt though like Master @[member="Kiskla Grayson"] and the @[member="Alachei Mnemenos"] woman, interesting how much you miss when you are recovering from wounds, his body ached often now and he still walked with a cane, never getting the wound in his leg completely fixed. It wasnt that he needed it, by all means he could fight just as well, but it pained him still every once and a while and having the cane made it relieve some pressure off the leg.

@everyone

Alena stood, looking around at the people gathered at the conference. "Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to signal last call before I officially submit this through my Military Oversight Committee and get it down on the Senate floor for a vote. Any last suggestions for modifying the draft at hand?"

@[member="Alachei Mnemenos"]

"Lady, you gave up being your own little independent military entity so the Mandalorians didn't steam roll you a new Mnenkeikei stinkhole. You don't get to just take back what you gave us so you and your silly little planet didn't become @[member="Captain Larraq"]'s new asteroid golfing range. Besides, giving you that amount of firepower again? Not gonna happen. It ain't about military aid or whatnot, it's about you and your people doin' what they said they're gonna do so they didn't become a nice big pile of bodies for the Mandalorians to dance around."

Kaiden turned to the lady, throwing up one of his armored hands, that had just spoke, @[member="Alena Beswin"]."The Jedi should have to go through basic, and OCS if they wanna be in my army. But otherwise, I still don't like the Jedi being apart of the military. Seems bad for self-image and business. The training idea doesn't seem too bad."

@[member="Doc"]

"That certainly has been noted, sergeant. I thank you for your valuable feedback on this. It's been taken into account. It will most likely be subject to debate on the Senate floor."

@[member="Alena Beswin"]

The Senator from Eshan cleared his throat.

"Point of clarification, Senator Beswin. Under the principles of the current proposal, I would submit that Jedi holding Republic military commissions be primarily accountable to the Republic, and not to the Jedi Order, for disciplinary matters and war crimes investigations."

@[member="Bard of the Hyperlanes"]

Senator Beswin nodded upon hearing the request fro the Echani senator. "That is an excellent point of clarification, senator. The proposal has been added to the legislation draft, it seems quite reasonable to me. Any objections?" she inquired, looking around at the Jedi present at the meeting. (@[member="Kiskla Grayson"] @[member="Carn Dista"])

Ayumi Pallopides

Heir to the Emperor, Former Senator of Denon
Ayumi remained very still while she listened and raised an eyebrow. Well the vice chancellor was here which wasn't to bad but then more people were talking and she looked up at the woman who had come to the Republic at the others before speaking and then she stopped rubbing her temples for a moment less from the man from Eshan speaking then the aftermath of everything else. 'Oh they are giving me a headache' She thought to herself before nodding in agreement to the Bard but leaning back in her chair.

The Ankai took a brief moment, rather quietly and directly as to not disturb the meeting, to share a word with the trooper. She stood firmly in place, though her eyes shot of to the corners of their sockets to give him the most feral and primordially vicious state eyes could give, through their faint lavender glow past the daylight.
"Ah, Doc was it, I believe you have overstayed your welcome," Alachei smiled humbly for a moment. "I never actually relinquished control, as you can clearly see by my presence in this meeting. As nothing was ever officially organized, I am here in the hopes to further that mutual goal along. Thus it would be wise not to provoke any parties... especially not the one that contains over ten million soldiers and thousands of ships."
Her voice was calm, humble and unwaiveringly patientl something it seemed he - and ultimately none of them - shared about his little situation. Then she spoke privately and telepathically with him, briefly and directly enough only he would truly ever know the words - wrapped in the protective layers of being thought in her language, translated repeatedly through the Force, and implied as ideas in his own mind until they returned again into words in his head.
"Ah. Larraq and I had some prior mutual arrangements before this all. I propose it would be wise to reassess your facts and have then in order when next you meet this council. I apologize that you've been all but left out on your own, though perhaps a better attitude may make you more friends."
One of Alachei's strong suites to tell a person the truth bluntly but serenely. It was why so many fell into angst of their own accord.
"I believe that will be all on my accord, Senators." She nodded at the Chancellor. "Chancellor. I will remain for the rest of this meeting and look forward to the one forthcoming."

@[member="Doc"] then @Senators

Training..on top of training?
This miffed her, and it would likely subject Jedi to humiliation to the point that they would no longer wish to aid The Republic's forces.
How long was basic training anyway, her time in the flight academy had just pressed over a year. Did that make her exempt?

"Details on training can be discussed after your senate brings it to the floor then, I assume Senator Beswin?" There were many hiccups along the way. "Regarding the healers and such I'm not sure they'd account for the same training doctrines as some of the more soldier-inclined Knights." She raised a hand "But that's for another day."

Speaking of hiccups. Subject to Republic rules? Perhaps that would be more forgiving than Jedi trials. Oh just kidding, she administered those Jedi decisions for annexations or otherwise. Kiskla's lips twisted in response to this suggestion. With the amount of Republic governance being bestowed on those Jedi who wished to assist the armies, it was nearly dividing the church from the state. Except, Jedi were used to operating under the jurisdiction of those who called the shots in the state. During the clone wars the Jedi gave command of armies, but listened to the strategic directives of the Supreme Chancellor and other ranked officials. Nothing was new. Nothing was different.

And such was politics.
