Our Blood is Our Bond [Talith Family]

Swaying back, and forth, and back... And forth, and back... and forth. The list of people to curse grew. Force preserve the inventors of hugs and the people behind swaying kids back and forth. A second yawn made her eyelids heavy, he head heavy, in fact all of Kaili just felt so heavy. Heavy and very, very tired. Without much of a warning her head slumped into [member="Amorella Mae"]’s shoulder with a soft thud.

It was off to the land of dreams again as the adults could have their boring grown-up talk. The verdant hills of her imagination rolled for as long as the eyes could see again. The hills and canyons, the mountains and the rivers were all there. She had been here before, yet in her dream she was always considerably taller. Most likely considerably older and certainly a lot more prettier than the other three of her house. Once more it was just her and the four men and/or women following her on a great adventure.

But something was not right. A weird sense of unease set over the young child as she began squirming in her sleep. There was a presence in her dream that excited yet terrified her. She felt weak and useless, traits unworthy of an explorer such as herself and the feelings manifested themselves as a giant monster. A three meter tall pillar of smoke and ash looking to snuff the kid out of her dream. The problem was that Kaili was not afraid and she was certainly not weak even if the monster would try to tell her that she was.

No, this kid was Kaili Talith - The stubborn and impatient little explorer.

“Who is this?” Dream Kaili would ask her companions just like Real Kaili would mutter it in her sleep.

“It’s the mighty Kha’Merron. Don’t get on it’s bad side.”

“Ah, okay...”

The soothing touch calmed the girl’s squirming as for a brief moment she was carried out of her dream and into reality. Her eyelids didn’t lift, they were far too heavy for that. Instead she simply shuffled around to get more comfortable.

The Kha’Merron wasn’t about to win this battle. Nuh uh, Kaili was gonna prove it wrong!

That roused her.

To a child there was a real sense of wonder when it came to the realm of relatives outside of siblings and parents. Where the truest kind of nostalgia was born. Even when one became an adult and distance was made between family, there was still the evidence, the memories in still and moving pictures that would summon the sights, the smells, the faces.

However, such thoughts were far too profound for a recently awoken child.

The words 'Aunt Amorella is here!' was more than enough of a trigger, greater than the rush that came from eating directly out of the sugar bowl (Kaili did it).

As Aela turned to deliver pillow punishment to Micah's face Maleah hopped out of bed, holding her duvet around her neck like a cape as tiny legs began to rush bare foot across the floor and through the rooms to the kitchen.

Thud-thud-thud-thud-thud-thud-thud-thud!

The siren sound of the mightiest Talith predator (hey, some days a girl will play Queen and the other days she will be a beast).

“Auuuuuuuuunnnnnnttttiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!”

The cape duvet was dropped upon the ground as Maleah opted to charge towards Auntie Amorella with her arms outstretched. The child/creature opted to excitedly clatter into her Aunt's leg, wrapping her arms around the limb in a perfect child-sized embrace.

She didn't say anything more to her brother.

There were other more important things to be take care of, mainly, greeting her aunt.

It took her half a second. She dropped the pillow onto the ground and swirled on the ball of her heel, turning and beginning to rush down the hallway. Aela became half a blur, a small squandering of the force surrounded her and she pulsed with energy as she ran towards the kitchen. She could hear her sister cry for Amorella, she could hear her parents talking, and she could sense something its.

It was dark, foreboding, a reminder of what she had sensed on Her and her fathers trip.

She paid it no heed. Darkness did not survive long within the Talith home, and if it did it was for a reason. Soliael had taught all of his children that darkness was not always bad. After all without Dark there could not always be light. Aela rushed forward, her lips parting. “Auntie Amore!”

The girl jumped, nearly tackling her Aunt.

"Oh...my...Sol take her, quickly-" Amore managed to hand off the dozing Kaili just before the second of the children zipped in. Not likely that Kaili would be sleeping for much longer,

"Maleah!" she'd managed to find her footing as the first of the twins latched to her leg, and attempted to lean down to detach the girl ... before being tackled by Aela.

The lot of them ended up in a heap on the floor.

"Girls...girls," chuckling, Auntie Amore gathered them both in her arms and hugged tightly, kissing at their faces, brows, whatever was available, "I've missed you soooo much! How much have you missed me? Where's Micah?"

((OOC: Apologies for the delay.))

The soft rustle of Cameron's cloak was the only artificial sound that accompanied the soft-padding of his footsteps across the courtyard to the main entrance of [member="Soliael Devin Talith"] and [member="Kira Talith"]'s home. By now, [member="Amorella Mae"] had disappeared from the entrance he approached, but the articulated exclamations of children followed by the melodic voice of Amorella. For a moment, a soft smile touched the Sith Lord's lips as he literally felt Esmae's overwhelming happiness at being with her family. In the end of the day, Cameron's otherwise detached, cold nature was only warmed by the gentle caress of Esmae's bright presence, and it was never brighter than when she herself was truly happy.

Crossing the threshold, Cameron allowed his expression to neutralize as the realization of the overwhelming innocence contained within the home became visually apparent at a slight distance. Pulling back the hood of his cloak, the Sith Lord entered the kitchen silently. Still...it's not like he was going to sneak himself in with everyone, no doubt, fully aware of his presence. Immediately, his silver-green eyes focused on Esmae, a warm, bright smile spreading across his features completely involuntarily. However, his gaze did not linger for very long, drifting to the tiny faces of [member="Aela Talith"], [member="Maleah Talith"], and [member="Kaili Talith"]. Rather than stand super awkwardly, Cameron allowed his deep voice to roll forward in greeting as he clasped his hands behind his back. "Good evening..."

One moment she was attached to Auntie Amore's leg, and the next moment they were in a family pile upon the floor.

Not that Maleah minded such, as both the girls were suddenly consumed in a sea of cuddles and smooches, not to mention the squealing and giggling. It was like being tangled up with Toofless, albeit without all the fur and slobber, a pity really, the twin liked all the fur and slobber.

She supposed that Auntie Amore would look a bit strange if she were part nexu though.

Untangling herself Maleah stretched her arms out as much as she possibly could, physically straining to demonstrate size, as if she was a fisherman exaggerating how big her catch was.

Thiiiiiiiiiiis much, auntie!”

Before she could tell Amore that her twin was being a big sleepy head the excited child finally noticed the other presence in the room. Not yet being as in-tune as Aela she didn't so much note the foreboding presence of the other man, instead being distracted by rumbling baritone of his voice.

A small hand shot up, pointing in his direction.

“Who's that?” she asked loudly and cheerily, a broad and innocent grin beaming from her face.

Kira Talith

Oh here came the very awkward answer to who [member="Cameron Centurion"] was. Kira set the teapot to come to a slow boil, having left her youngest in the arms of [member="Amorella Mae"]. A small curious glance would drift over to [member="Soliael Devin Talith"], as if to say... what was he again?

Husband? Friend? Man who is attached to Amore at the hip? And more importantly, what did that make him to the kids?

So, with that in mind, Kira did as Kira does.

A massive smile would shine on her face and she would ask "Anyone want cookies?"

Meanwhile...

While the rest of the family was enjoying their rather interesting first introductions, a very grumpy Micah would slowly pad his way from his room down to the corridor. He moved quietly for a child, but he had a particularly ferocious glower on his chubby face. He hated being abruptly awoken; he was rather fond of his sleep.

Having Aela smack him with the pillow already had him in a mood. The soft murmurs of familiar and then unfamiliar one would start to pique his attention. One tiny fist would rub his right eye, while the other bright orange would would blearily start to make sense of his world. There was something. Yeah, a chill. He gave a shiver. It was cold. Why was it so cold?

The young boy wouldn't know that it was due to the presence of [member="Cameron Centurion"], having for the first time been near such a presence that had embraced the Darkside.

As he'd draw closer, he heard [member="Maleah Talith"] ask a question. Dropping his hand from his eye, Micah gave a blink through his sleepy scowl. There he saw his mother, his father, his sisters...

Wait, he'd perk.

Blink.

Is that his aunt?

Wait.

He would turn to the enormous tall man that was as black as the night and easily towering over him and the rest of his sisters -- well it was pretty easy with his mother -- with silvery green eyes.

Blink.

Who was he?

Soliael stood holding his youngest daughter whom had been practically tossed over to him.

He gave Kira an odd look, then stared at Cameron who had made his way into the kitchen. Soliael's eyebrows rose slightly, though not in anger. Rather the emotion shown on his face was surprise. He looked down at Amorella, then gazed at his daughters who seemed to be crawling all over their Aunt. A grin spread across his face, then his look shot back towards Cameron.

“Cameron.” Soliael said with no hint of anger. “Finally drag you from the outer rim did she?”

He grinned, then looked at his son who was slowly making his way towards the rest of the family. Soliael looked over to his wife who likely shared the realization that bed wasn't going to happen any time soon again.

Aela didn't care much for being a tangled bundle of arms and legs upon the floor of the vacation home, but at the moment her aunt was there and therefore it didn't really matter. She hugged the woman, keeping her pinned on the floor with her tiny body and trying to speak over Maleah who extended her hand and nearly smacked her in the face.

She huffed at her sister, opening her mouth to speak and then suddenly turning towards the ebbing darkness in the room.

Her eyes opened wide as she noticed another adult in the room aside from the three she knew.

Aela half rolled off of her aunt and looked up at Cameron, her eyes narrowing slightly, then shooting over to her father who named the giant. A question mark appeared on her face, and she looked over from Soliael, to Kira, to Cameron, and then to Amorella. “She?”

She said perturbed.

“Auntie?” Aela prodded her aunt.

Her body had been transferred from [member="Amorella Mae"] to her father. The weight of her eyelids still multiplied by the second as the girl leaned her head against the shoulder of her protector. It was starting to get loud around here. The other kids were really loud and all Kai wanted to do was to just fall asleep again.

That is until it was spoken. The six syllable word, seven if done right.

Her head arched up like if fired out of a cannon. Eyes scanning the horizon in a one-eighty worthy of the history books she finally set her eyes on [member="Kira Talith"]. A hand was raised and a hand began to rapidly open and clasp themselves shut repeatedly. The Galactic Sign Language for sleepy kids that said ‘Shut up and just give me the cookie already.’

Her hand would open wide and slam shut, open wide and slam shut, open wide and slam shut until the sugary treat would find it’s way into the tired girl’s hand.

Smoothing the hair of the young Aela, Amore gave her a small wink as she slowly pulled herself back to her feet. Maleah's enthusiasm was notably marked by a playful gasp - thiiiiiis much was, like, really a lot! Also it was endearing and adorable, but there wasn't much time to remark on that as the subject quickly changed to the new entity whose shadow now filled the entirety of the room. The curiosity was expected, though Aela's concern for him gave her momentary pause. Was Aela afraid? His presence was certainly more than enough to make those of many practiced years quake, though to his credit he was maintaining a placid calm - even if it was more of a predatory calm often held right before the strike.

Amore's smile softened as she took a slow breath, "This is Lord Centurion," she introduced him with a gentle tone and placed a hand on Aela's shoulder, squeezing it, "my fiance."

Whether or not he wished the children to call him by his actual name was a decision and offer for him to make. Best to start them off by addressing him properly and respectfully.

Cameron's silver-green gaze transferred to Soliael as the man offered forth his greeting. Allowing a thin smile to touch his lips, he dipped his head slightly in response. "Can't say I had much interest in the recent surge in conflict. Too much war, I suppose." Not really. Mostly he just elected to spend more time with their son than interact with the greater society. Not that Amorella often allowed the child to escape her sight for more than a very brief amount of time...his conception being not-so-expected and all.

Speaking of. The true purpose behind the intense spreading of the Sith Lord's presence was to keep distant tabs on the lifeform that had yet to be announced to any apart from Amorella and Cameron. As expected, the seven year old was not listening to those charged with his temporary supervision.

After Amorella spoke, Cameron waved a dismissive hand. "Cameron will do just fine." Amorella had just dropped a bomb on the vast majority of them, so he could afford to ease any potential tension with an air of informality. After all, they were...pretty much family now. For a moment, Cameron's mind drifted to what that had meant in the past. The recollection was bloody and short. "We would have sent word in advance, but we opted for discretion. Also..." Silver-green eyes focused intently on Amorella for a moment. No words were spoken, but everyone would sense the rapid approach of some bounding presence in short order.

"Too slow!" The youngest Centurion slid between the legs of one of his instructors and occasional babysitters during what the boy would later rank as his fourth best escape from pseudo-confinement. Charging down the extended loading ramp, he rocketed in the direction of the home. While Cadeyrn had not met any of the Taliths before, he had heard a fair amount about...well...really just Soliael. Neither of his parents seemed to know Aunt Kira terribly well. His mother had tired to tell him about his cousins on occasion, but his attention usually diverted to something more interesting.

Like food. He was always hungry. Sometimes even right after he ate, but he knew what that was about too.

With all the exuberance of youth, Cadeyrn charged rapidly through the courtyard towards the same entrance his parents had passed through not long before.

Kira Talith

Things certainly took a turn for the unexpected. Blinking wide, Kira stood hovering over the tray of cookies while letting the surprises settle. The 'gimmiecookiees' grabby hand signal was coming loud and clear from her youngest, and a glance at the chrono gave her all she needed to know. Yeah, the kids were likely not going to go to bed anytime soon.

And if you give Nohei a cookiee...

Well everyone knows how that story goes. She gave Sol a look that said, okay you're on cookie duty. Yet that wasn't the most pressing issue. No, it was the bundle of energy and youth of another youngling in the mix. One that was not their own. Wait... The silvery blue eyes that were framed by thick black lashes any girl would envy gave a physical tell tale.

It was all about connecting the navpoints. Cameron the fiance. Amore's time in the fringe...discretion.

Oh.. Oh my.

Maybe she did need to hand out cookies.

"Cameron it is." Kira said, the surprise waning into a warm smile as her attention fell upon the newest arrival. He appeared to be around the same age as Aela.

"Hello, what's your name?" she asked.

Micah was not as sweet as his mother. Instead, the normally laid back kid who is full of jokes gave a rather confused half glare at the new kid in town. Granted, the appearance of a whole new individual that wasn't his sister - or female at that - swept that expression of annoyance from his youthful face.

His nose would wrinkle, brows furrowing under the messy dirty blonde mop of his hair. Wha...what was this?! Briefly he would rub his eyes with his closed fists. Maybe he was still dreaming. Or maybe Aela smacked him with a pillow full of rocks. Blinkity blink.

Nope, there was still a kid. A dusky skinned one that was totally not the same as the other.

So what does one do in this situation?

Poke the specimen with a stick. In this instance, the 'stick' was his forefinger aimed at [member="Cadeyrn Centurion"] 's side.

"Who are you?"

Cadeyrn bounded into the room juussttt as the initial shock of introductions was beginning to take hold. Immediately feeling the eyes of the room on him, the young Centurion maintained the same expressionless mask that his father often wore. However, when his silver-blue eyes drifted to his mother's form, a brief flutter of annoyance crossed his features. He was not annoyed at her presence, of course. The young boy loved both of his parents more than anything.

However, Cadeyrn had no idea who the children were that his mother was presently soothing. Actually, that wasn't true. Cadeyrn had been informed of their existence albeit recently. Even still, his memory was quite sharp for one his age. Unbeknownst to everyone in the room, that would become quite threatened in later years courtesy of a spice addiction from his first-cousin, Quietus.

Before Cadeyrn could do as he'd been instructed and trained, one of the children chose to approach and brave the journey into Cadeyrn's personal space with an outstretched finger. Mostly out of a learned self-defense program, Cadeyrn shot [member="Micah Talith"] a warning glare that quickly darkened with respect to the not-so-light-sided heritage of his father. "Do not."

Following a few brief heartbeats, Cadeyrn's expression softened once more. "I am Cadeyrn Darke Centurion. You are Micah." Shifting his gaze back to [member="Kira Talith"], Cadeyrn managed a smile though unlike most of his father's smiles, it contained warmth and innocence. Clearly, Cadeyrn was quite the curious combination of both mother and father, and he swiftly shifted his attention back in her direction before running to her side and wrapping his arms around her leg. "Mommy the ship was boring."

Immediate excuse. Most necessary in the child's mind. He preferred not to look at his father in that particular moment, knowing it would not please the man to have been disobeyed.

[member="Soliael Devin Talith"] | [member="Aela Talith"] | [member="Kaili Talith"] | [member="Maleah Talith"] | [member="Amorella Mae"]

"You were told to stay on the ship until we came for you, Cadeyrn," Amorella looked down to her son, blue eyes intense and voice stern, a firm hand at his shoulder to garner his full attention. Certainly out of the two she was by far the warmer, friendlier parent, but Amore was not without backbone or discipline. Learning to heed the words of his parents was not only a lesson in respect of his elders, but also that of self control.

Especially when she knew that the disobedience was due to boredom and not excitement for the young child. He knew better.

"But since you are here now ... Sol, Kira, I'd like you to meet our son, Cadeyrn." What sterness of her voice was now faded back to her warm, gentle tone. A proud smile took her face, carefully concealing the minor worry she felt for keeping Cade's existence a secret all this time.

"Cade, say hello to your Uncle Soliael and Aunt Kira," Amore gently pulled the boy from her leg, lifted him and set him down to face the two, "properly now, we are guests in their home."

She had a cousin?

Aela had known she had lots of family. She had Oma, Oma Oma,Uncle Dissero, Aunt Amorella, now Uncle Cameron, Uncle Sven and Aunt Silva. She tried for several minutes to list all of the relatives she had, but in the end she knew that she forgot some.

Slowly she peeled herself away from her aunt, looking over to her cousin.

He much resembled his father, though there was a hint of Aunt Amorella within his face. She frowned slightly, then slowly stepped over to him. Her face was still that same neutral expression. She had never quite gotten along with her siblings, oh she loved them to be sure, yet there had always been something that set them apart.

Would her cousin be the same?

Cadeyrn did know better, but in some amount of logic he'd rectified the potential punishment was worth the risk. He recalled the mixture of emotions shared between his parents about their impending trip to this location. Even at his young age, he was smart enough to surmise that perhaps this slight element of disobedience would pass with little more than a scolding.

His analysis wasn't always correct, however.

Following the brief chiding of his mother, Cadeyrn's expression flattened. "Yes ma'am." Unlike most children, he didn't really try the 'I'm cute you can't be mad at me' approach. When presented with opposition, he was pushed more towards being defensive, observant.

Once he'd been sat back down and oriented towards his Aunt and Uncle, Cadeyrn maintained his neutral expression as he straightened slightly, taking on more of the dignified actions of his grandmother and mother in official interactions. Even if...this was hardly official. "I am pleased to meet you Uncle Soliael, Aunt Kira."

As Aela stepped over towards him, Cadeyrn's silver-blue eyes shifted for but a brief moment. "Aela." A simple acknowledgment of her presence before his eyes moved on to the other two children he'd not addressed, back to his father long enough to see the would-be indifference burning in the man's eyes (which really was worse than outright irritation as it meant the man was fighting to keep said irritation hidden...an explosion usually followed at some point), and finally back to Sol and Kira.
