Out of place, out of time

Location: Zolan

Jaani walked through the busy spaceport. Even in a metropolitan location like this, he was still receiving the sideways glances and outright stares he had become accustomed too. Gungans were rare out in the galaxy. Even more rare were seven-foot powerhouses carrying a stack of spears and wearing a traditional Gungan officer’s outfit.

A Gungan Kresch he’d been gifted on leaving his homeworld had contained the collected knowledge of the gungans on the outside galaxy. It had so far proven completely inadequate to the task. There was nothing quite like first-hand experience, but so far it was hard going. People were expected to use something called a “holonet” to find work. They were expected to dress a certain way for interviews, speak basic better than he did. The credits he had been gifted were beginning to run out, and he hadn’t even gotten far from home.

“Squeeze me,” he grunted as he passed a pair of naval crewmen and walked into a bar. He was still learning to read Aurebesh, and had a very limited understanding of High Galactic, but he recognised the symbol for accommodation. He moved to the bar and enquired about a room, booking in for a night and ordering some snacks and a drink.

OOC/ General Roleplay, I'm going places with this char, but all welcome.

Jaani quietly sipped his drink, keeping himself to himself. He was simply waiting for a quiet booth to be available and then he would enjoy his evening meal. One aspect of travel he had revelled in so far was the food. Such a wide variety of sea food was available from all corners of the galaxy. He didn't even know what kind he'd ordered tonight, he considered checking the Kresch in his pack, but decided to taste it without prejudice.

His eyes turned to regard the pair on his right briefly. Subconsciously he had noticed them glancing his way and speaking in hushed tones.

"You should hear how they speak," he heard whispered.

Looking up, he watched slowly as the Gungan came in. "You gotta be kiddin' me! 'Nother one of 'em fethers?" He muttered, climbing out of his bar stool and blowing out a dark and thick smoke ring due to his cigar. He slowly headed over to the creature, a slight grin on his face.

"Eh partner! You from 'round 'ere?" He asked curiously, obviously just a bit annoyed. He then blew some smoke out, allowing it to fly directly into [member="Jaani Doosun"]. "You in for a game a Dejarik? Maybe you should just take off, ya know? Actually, that is a better idea, you should take off, brother."

The man slowly took a step back, revealing the two shoulder holsters slung around his arms and the two holsters on his hip, all of them holding slugthrower revolvers. "I ain't tryin' to cause no trouble, sir. Though, perhaps you'd like to settle this over a game of Dejarik, assumin' ya got the guts to do it", The man's anger was now taken over by pure amusement as he stood there.

Glancing up from his meal Mit watched silently as the man talked with the gungan. Slowly he pulled out his blaster pistol but kept it hidden, just incase this escalated. "Don't toy with him. Leave him be, you got a problem with gungans?" he muttered, as he slowly got out of his chair and put the blaster back into its holster, but he kept his hand close to it as he walked over to them.

Jaani didn't quite follow the man's ranting. However, he knew enough of human body language - afterall it was surprisingly similar to Gunan - to get the gist of his threat.

He slowly slid off the stool and stood tall. He towered over the human and crossed his arms over his chest. His heavily muscled and bare arms were covered in both scars and mottled purple stripes.

To a Gungan, the posturing to show strength was a clear response to a thread, he wondered if that would come across to the little man who chose to threaten him within arm's reach. Of course, most of the galaxy seemed to find gungans amusing.

He mulled over his words for a moment, keen to avoid to much pidgin-basic. "What is dees deh-jar-rick?"

Khalifa Burjjh was remaining out of sight in the corner of the bar, tending to his drink, when he noticed the commotion. He usually wouldn't pay any mind to scuffles like this, but noticed the rudeness of the man speaking to the rather large gungan. "Real smart to mess with him", he thought to himself sarcastically. It was then that he noticed another customer take out his blaster, something he could spot instantly, and then stand up. "I just may want a part in this..." he mumbled to himself.

"Yeah, I gotta problem with them Gungans. They keep comin' 'round and it's pissin' me off...real bad", The man said, obviously not fearing the Gungan's size. "Now, would you be happy with exitin' this here establishment? If not, I'd kindly show you to that there door, mister." The man tapped the handle of one of his four slugthrowers, a grin on his face. "Now, I'll be seein' ya!"

Khalifa Brujjh sighed. Why am I doing this? He thought. In two swift motions he was up and over to the man. "Hey, let's all sit down and enjoy our drinks. This gungan isn't causing any problems. Get a drink, play a game or two, and let him do his business," Burjjh croaked out in his reptillian voice.

"Great, just fine, indeed. Another one of ya disgustin' creatures! Shouldn't ya be in your village in or somethin'?" He asked, staring into the Trandoshan's eyes. Now, it was not that Cirrus was fearless, he was just ignorant on the subject of Trandoshan culture and their abilities. "Now, move along! I ain't got time for scumsuckin' motherfething freeloadin' filthy creatures, such as yourself", The man replied in an angered tone.

"Ha ha!" Burjjh laughed exaggeratingly loud. "You my friend, have no idea. I'm not in my village because I KILLED THEM ALL." He finished the sentence with a yell. "You amuse me! Now move along and let this gungan and myself do our business or try something," he stepped back, "the choice is yours."

"Motherfether!" He barked, lurching forward. He'd then attempt to throw a haymaker in the direction of the Trandoshan, hoping to make contact with the creature. However, the punch was only something a inexperienced street fighter wannabe could throw. However, even if it did connect it would still most likely cause some pain, due to Cirrus's physical strength.

He raised his blaster, pointing it at the arrogant mans head, "Id take his offer into consideration 'Partner' now move along, we don't need a fight... just sit down and enjoy your drinks." Mit said plainly getting sick of this argument.

Burjjh saw the punch coming. The man was intoxicated, not drastically, but enough to impair his movement and reactions. Burjjh blocked the punch, and had basically the entire torso and head available. Using the block to momentarily hold the man's arm, he asked, "still want to proceed?".

He looked at the Trandoshan in disbelief, shaking his head multiple times. "N-no, n-n-not at a-all, m-m-m-mister!" The man said, obvious fear frozen on his face. "Let's just enjoy our drinks, r-right? Y-yeah, s-s-sounds like a good i-idea. Yeah, great idea...s-sir. Nice meeting you! I-I'm just going to head back to the b-bar if that is alright", The man said, forcing an artificial smile, still fearing for his life.

"That's what I thought." He croaked with a grin. His grin quicly faded, as he didn't like to impose his strength like that. He turned to the gungan, "I didn't mean to rush to your rescue, I'm sure you can fight your own fights. Perhaps you'd like a drink?", he asked.

Mit lowered his blaster, "nice one, Burjjh right?" he chuckled "the look on his face! Absolutely priceless, you two want a drink? On me"

"Ha, yes. All talk, many of these patrons are," he said with a look around the room. "I'll take you up on that drink for sure."

"Right," he walked up to the bar to get the drinks and headed back to the table, "here." he slid him a tall glass, and looked at all the drunks arguing with eachother, "your quite right about the talk." he mused.

"I'm not sure why I frequent places like this. Perhaps drinking alone at home is just too sad. Thanks for the drink by the way." He said when Mit passed him his glass. "What exactly do you do?"
