Outside A Cantina...

Kos stood outside his master’s cantina, sweeping the street with his oversized broom. He could hear the customers inside the cantina and he sighed quietly, sitting down on the steps outside the cantina. The tiny boy rested his head on his hands, watching people walking through the streets and he listened closely, able to hear some of their thoughts. He smiled slightly to himself and drew a few odd symbols in the dust on the ground as he sat outside the cantina.

The armored bounty hunter woman was making her way towards the Cantina. She needed a drink and bad. Her recent job had a lot of bad turns that, looking back, she was lucky she made it out in one piece. And only 1,000 credits for it? What a crock. She just needed to ease the tension. As she came towards the door she stopped when she saw the kid sitting there, drawing in dust. A part of her thought he looked pathetic, with his dirty look and all. But then another part, to her surprise, felt sorry for him. She could relate the more she thought about it. Her childhood wasn't exactly all sunshine and happiness 24/7. She sighed as she couldn't believe what she was about to do.

Standing nearby, but not enough to scuff his drawings, Aela said "Nice work, kid." Once she had his attention she handed him some credits saying "From one professional artist to another." she laughed in her mind at how she played with the word "artist".

Kos widened his eyes as he stared at the credits in his hand and he looked up at the woman, smiling a small timid smile, and he nodded his head once in a gesture of thanks. He glanced over his shoulder into the cantina and, seeing his master busy dealing with customers, the boy quickly hid the credits. He had never had anything of his own before and he certainly didn't want them to be taken from him... He smiled again at the woman and continued drawing, frowning slightly as he concentrated.

Aela noticed as the boy looked inside the Catina at the owner before hiding the credits. She narrowed her eyes a little having some idea about what was likely going on. Now she really felt sorry for this kid to wind up in this situation. Aela found herself sitting next to the kid, her back on the wall and one leg up, the one closet to him so she could see his drawings, and the other to the side. "You got a name?" After he gave what answer he could she indicated the owner and asked "That your dad in there?"

Kos shifted away from the woman as she sat down, unused to people wanting to spend time with him. He nodded slowly as she asked if he had a name, and froze at her second question. Nibbling his bottom lip slightly, he glanced back inside the cantina and slowly shook his head. He looked down at the ground and quickly sketched an outline of a man and a woman, then drew a line through them and shrugged.

@Aela Kellov

"Ah." she said when he shook his head. Next thing she watched was him drawing the pictures of what was obviously his parents. "They're gone, aren't they?" She sighed and said "Join the club, kid." She shifted her arms around a bit, putting her helmet that was on the opposite side of where the boy was next to him as she shuffled through her belt pockets. Eventually she pulled out a picture of herself, a little younger, standing in front of a large ship with a rough looking man dressed in Mandalorian armor. Showing it to him she said "Yep. There's me a my old man. That was about 5 years ago."

Kos looked at the picture and smiled slightly. He wondered briefly if his father might have looked anything like the armoured man in the picture. He hesitated before pointing to the man and looked up at the woman, frowning and raising his eyebrows in a question. He tilted his head and gave an exaggerated shrug as he looked around, trying to ask where her father was.

Aela sighed and put the picture back while saying "He's gone. Just like my mother." While she did have a picture of her mother with her she didn't feel like showing. That she kept more private than the other. She rested her arm on her own helmet while saying "Taken is a better word I'd used. By someone I still looking for." She looked up to the sky as if to emphasize on her continuing search. "Yeah.....still looking."

The boy looked at her then gazed up at the sky, squinting as he tried to see what she was looking at. Eventually he gave up and sighed quietly. At least she was free to do what she wanted, go where she liked... Kos was convinced he was stuck here working in the cantina forever. He gazed at the woman and sighed again, feeling jealous of her freedom.

@Aela Kellov

Aela looked back to him as he looked to her and gave a huff and a smile. "You have dreams, kid? Something you want to do in the future? A job? Something?" She wanted to know in the hopes that, in some way or another, she could help him. Depending on what it was exactly he wanted to be or do. She held up her helmet in front of him and asked "How about my profession? You get to travel the galaxy. See lots of things. Only thing is you have to do what you're hired for, and you may not like what it is. But if you want the credits you got to work for it."

Kos stared at her as she spoke to him. No one had ever taken such an interest in him before and he curled himself up slightly, nervous from the attention. Him, travel the galaxy? Even the idea seemed ridiculous and unachievable to him but he still felt himself get excited by the thought. He tilted his head and slowly bit his fingernail, a small smile on his face as he imagined himself in a large ship, off on an adventure like the ones he heard some customers in the cantina talk about sometimes. He wanted to travel, more than anything, but he knew his master would never let him go anywhere. He looked down at his broom lying next to him and sighed heavily.

@Aela Kellov

Seeing his reaction Aela sighed before putting the helmet down. She leaned her head back as well while saying "Look, don't get me wrong. If I could I'd probably take you with me. You'd learn the ropes. Toughen up. Learn to take each system you travel by the horns." she sighed again before saying "But I can't. I'll be honest, kid, you're probably better off not getting yourself mixed up in this kind of world. Make a better living for yourself."

(OOC: I just read how you're character likes Jedi. I have a Jedi he could meet after this girl if you want.)

(OOC: Sure :) )

Kos frowned as she spoke and hunched over, wrapping his arms tight around his knees. He knew it had been pointless to hope he could leave. Hoping just made it worse when nothing changed. Silently, he picked up his broom and swept away the pictures he had drawn and looked at the woman sadly.

@Aela Kellov

Aela took a deep breath before getting up. With her helmet under her arm she turned to walk into the Cantina finally but stopped. She glanced back to him before taking piece of paper from her pocket. Ripping a small piece of and using a pen she wrote something on it. She turned and handed it to him saying "If you ever do get out of here, look me up. Drinks will be on me." she smiled. With a quick rub of his head she finally walk into the Cantina. On the paper was the name "Aela Kellov. Bounty Hunter."

Kos watched as she went into the cantina and looked down at the piece of paper. Nodding slightly, he folded the paper and hid it in the small pouch on his belt, along with the credits. Then, he rubbed his eyes and yawned softly before getting up. Picking up his broom, he yawned again and sighed to himself as he began starting to sweep more of the dust away.

A tall figure was walking through the streets. She was robed in Jedi garbs and had her hands folded in her sleeves together. As she came closer to the Cantina she didn't fully notice the little boy nearby. She peeked in for a moment, as if trying to spot someone, before a whiff of dust found it's way up into her nose. She gave a violent sneeze before realizing she'd almost stepped on the kid. "Oh!" she said. "I'm sorry." She knelt down and removed her hood, revealing herself to be a Kaminoan. With a smile she asked "Are you okay, little one?"

Kos jumped slightly and looked up at her before quickly dropping his gaze to his feet. He nodded slowly a few times, almost trying to hide behind his broom. His cheeks flushed slightly and he bit his bottom lip hard, trying to calm his nerves as he slowly looked at her again apologetically.

Seeing the way he reacted she looked a bit concerned and said "Hey, hey. It's alright. No harm done. It was me, okay? I just....wasn't looking." she laughed a little and said "You don't know how often I tend to goof up like that." She cleared her throat and asked "What's your name, little guy? I'm Nala."

@[member="Kos Ticilo"]

Kos looked up at her and kept nibbling on his bottom lip as he knelt and frowned with concentration as he wrote his name in the remaining dust on the ground. He sneezed quietly as some of the dust went up into his face and he wiped his nose on his sleeve before looking up at her, proud of himself for managing to write something.

She smiled at the fact he didn't talk much. Either he couldn't or he didn't want to. Didn't matter much since he would at least spell. Seeing his name she said a aloud "@[member="Kos Ticilo"]." Nala nodded and said "A very nice name. Nice to meet you then, Kos." She held her hand out for him to shake, not realizing that it her robes were open enough to expose the lightsaber on her belt.
