Outside A Cantina...

Kos flinched slightly as she held out her hand then froze as he saw the lightsaber. His eyes widened and he gasped, staring at it in amazement. He had heard a lot of people talk about lightsabers and his master had once drawn him a picture of one, but Kos had never seen a real one before. He slowly reached out towards it, completely unaware of anything else.

Nala jumped a little when he gasped, seeing his eyes on her saber. When he reached for it she grabbed his wrist and said "Careful! You don't want to mess with that. It's dangerous." Making sure his hand was away from it she took out the saber herself and said "Here. Let me show you." She ignited it and an amazing blade of purple light ignited from it. She waved it around a little to show him how well it flowed in her hand before holding it close to the ground, showing how it burned some of the dirt beneath. After the demonstration she said "See? Dangerous."

Kos stared at the beautiful purple blade, his mouth hanging open in amazement. He jumped as the lightsaber burned the dirt and nodded meekly to show he understood how dangerous it could be. It didn't stop him being interested in it though, and he kept gazing at the weapon before finally looking up at her. If she had a lightsaber...she must be a Jedi... Kos let out a small noise of excitement and quickly covered his mouth, glancing into the cantina.

Nala turned the saber off when he squeak before looking into the cantina. "Is something wrong?" she asked, lifted her head up to see inside. Not see anything at first she looked back down to him and asked "Are you alright, Kos?"

@[member="Kos Ticilo"]

Kos looked at her nervously and slowly uncovered his mouth. Turning back to the cantina, he gazed around before finally noticing his master making drinks for the customers. Kos pointed at him then mimed someone shouting. Then, he pointed to himself and covered his mouth again, looking at her with big eyes.

Getting the message she said "Oh, that's why you don't talk." She shook her head and said "Where are you parents? Or.....or do you not have any?" she asked, looking rather concerned. When he confimred it she said "Oh, you poor little thing. I'm so sorry to hear that. Actually....I just lost someone important to me too. So I know what it's like."

He frowned with sympathy and hesitated before taking her hand and giving it a tiny squeeze to show he was sorry. He supposed the only good thing about his life was that he had never known his parents, so he couldn't know what it was that he missed. But losing someone who you did know...Kos knew that must be hard.

Nala looked down as she held her hand before looking to him and smiling. She rubbed his head with her other hand and said "You've a good heart, Kos. But why are you here? Why not in an orphanage or something? I think you'd be far better off than being...well... a slave."

He looked down again and shrugged, grabbing an old mat off the floor and rolling it into a bundle. He looked at her, pointing to himself then to the rolled up mat and put the mat on the steps to the cantina, shrugging again.

She crossed her arms and said "Come on. I'm sure the owner could easily hire anyone else to do what you do. You're far too young to be working for nothing. You should be playing, making friends. Do you have any friends?" she asked, looking around a bit.

Drunkenly strutting out of the cantina, was Saren karking Lonecaller, the man who'd stolen a freighter at the Bakuran Arms show, as well as a certain Jedi's lightsaber. But all that was largely irrelevant as the Echani thief set his eyes on @[member="Nala Tu"] and the young boy @[member="Kos Ticilo"]. He felt a pang of sympathy for the kid, he knew what it was like to have to steal to survive, and to fight for every meal. It wasn't easy.

Kos tilted his head to the side, thinking about @[member="Nala Tu"] 's question. He slowly shook his head and sighed sadly. He was always too busy working to play, and all the other children he had seen had made fun of him because he wouldn't speak. He looked around and ducked his head slightly as @[member="Saren Lonecaller"] walked out of the cantina, quickly moving out of his way.

Seeing him hide near her from something, Nala asked "What is it?" before glancing back to see @[member="Saren Lonecaller"]. She huffed and looked back to @[member="Kos Ticilo"] saying "It's alright. It's just..." She stopped when she remembered the face. She stood and turned saying "You!" pointing at him. "I remember you!" Indeed she did. He was the one who'd stolen her lightsaber before and made her go on a long and difficult chase to finally get it back. Not that it mattered in the end but still she'd never fully confronted him about doing it until now.

Saren looked at the Jedi in a confused fashion, he'd been in pretty decent disguise or so he'd thought. Regardless, he pushed past @[member="Nala Tu"] and crouched down in front of @[member="Kos Ticilo"]. Pulling what credits he had left in his pockets out and casting them before the boy, his expression no changing once as he did so. Hopefully the kid wouldn't end up like him.

Kos instinctively covered his head with his arms as he saw @[member="Saren Lonecaller"] look like he was about to throw something at him. He gasped and widens his eyes as he saw the credits, giving him a quick glance for permission before scrambling around for them on the ground, trying to gather them as quickly as he could before anyone could see.

@[member="Nala Tu"]

Nala looked surprised at this. Whether or not he remember her she still took into account what he'd just done. She kept looking as if she was about to say something but stopped herself only to try again. After a few moment she wound up saying "....thank you." feeling this wasn't the time to hold a grudge with him.

@[member="Saren Lonecaller"] @[member="Kos Ticilo"]

Kos looked up at them both as he stuffed the credits into his belt-pouch. It was obvious there was something going on but he could think what it was. He shrugged to himself and smiled slightly, nodding his head gratefully as he gathered up the last of the credits.

He didn't say anything, there was noting to say. He simply gave @[member="Kos Ticilo"] a nod and pushed past @[member="Nala Tu"] without a sound. He didn't have time to converse, people were probably looking for him for taking things he wasn't supposed to. Not that he really cared in the slightest, he was tired, drunk, and most certainly NOT in the mood.

Nala watched as he walked off, thinking he may try something, but she could both sense and read from the way he acted that was not the case. She keeled back down to @[member="Kos Ticilo"] and said "Are you alright?" after he gave his answer she said "Sorry about that. You see I know that man. He stole my lightsaber once. My old one actually. And, well, let's just say it wasn't easy to get it back from where he sold it to."

Kos nodded slightly as she asked him if he was okay, then frowned and tilted his head. The man was a thief? But he couldn't be. Not after giving him all those credits... Shrugging to himself, Kos looked again at the woman's lightsaber and smiled. Even if it was wrong to steal, he could see why someone would want something like that.
