Padawan Adventures on Ossus

Ossus

Where was it? This time, the combination of a game and a training was a lot more difficult than it had ever been before. He typically enjoyed the game where an object important to him was hidden in the area near to the Temple and he'd have to use his skills to find them. But this time, it was different. He couldn't just locate his dear photo album of his family and he was starting to get desperate.

He was all on his own. Nobody who could help him was nearby. Or at least that's what it looked like. His skills in Force Sense lacked and he couldn't see too far away from the building. Even though he had to.

"Ugh..." he muttered.

He had four hours to find the album or else he'd be considered a loser. It was a common game in the group of Padawans Oscar belonged to and they even kept a leaderboard. The one who lost the most had to do something really embarrassing. And he was on the edge of falling to the last place.

Would he win that particular game, he would raise in the ranks.

In order to do that, though, he needed help.

Blaise was wandering around the Temple, avoiding a sparring session with a master. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw another Padawan and looked closer to see that the boy was looking somewhat distressed. He walked over to Oscar and smiled at the teen to show that he was friendly. "Is something the matter? You don't look too happy." he said.

"Are you looking for something?" Blaise asked after noticing what Oscar was doing. He got on with other Padawans a lot better than he did Masters or Knights, and although he was very informal to almost all Jedi, he hoped to become a Knight in a year or two.

"Yeah, I am looking for something," Oscar said, then turning to the voice. The man - or rather a boy -, probably a Padawan, was there, reminding Oscar of himself. Huh, so that's what a teenager, young adult Padawan actually looks like, he thought. Of course it was no clear reflection of himself -- more like something that portrayed the same uncorrupted young soul he had inside.

"I am having a game of hide and seek or something like that. I'm in a so-called tournament. And I am trying to find something."

Suddenly, he realised. Maybe he could use some help from the other Padawan? He could have helped him.

"Anyway, I'm Oscar, nice to meet you!"

Blaise figured he had nothing better to do and besides, it was always best to help someone. "Tournament?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. He had never heard of Padawans playing hide and seek, or maybe he did and chose to ignore it, it sounded like something he would do.

"Nice to meet you too, I'm Blaise." he said with a smile. "I can help you look for whatever it is you've lost, that is if you tell me what it is we're looking for." he said as he already began to look for whatever might seem oddly out of place.

"You can? I'm looking for a photo album. An old kind of an album. It is... green in colour. It's somewhere in or near the Ossus Temple, but I am having a hard time at finding it. I had a total of five hours at first -- now I have four left."

He sighed.

"If I win this round, I climb higher in the scoreboard."

Oscar stood up and turned his head around a little bit to see whether it was in that room or not. These things were typically hidden in stranger locations, though. But he had to take a look everywhere, and also use Force Sense.

But like he had already admitted, it was a lot more difficult this time.

"I haven't taken a look at the gardens, though," he muttered after a few moments of searching.

Blaise nodded to show acknowledgement and bit his lip. "Five hours? That is one long game of hide and seek." he smiled. "Isn't it a bit mean to take something from you and hide it?" he asked.

An old green photo album. It couldn't be too hard to find.

"You keep scoreboards on this? Aw man I'm missing out." he smirked and folded his arms.

"Okay, let's go to the gardens, I'll help you look, even if it takes four more hours, I've got nothing else to be doing."

Oscar nodded and so they started moving to the gardens. They had four hours, so they weren't in a hurry as long as they were sure they would find the album soon. If not, he was destined to do something embarrassing. After all, the season was about to end soon and there was no way he could climb high enough in the ranks after falling to the last position in so little time left.

"So... how long have you been a Jedi?"

That question had turned into his typical first real question when he met new people. He didn't know anything better to ask, plus the answer to that one was supposedly leading to another ones so that he didn't have to try too much to start a conversation.

Blaise followed at Oscar's side, keeping an eye out for anything remotely green, though that would become rather a lot harder once they reached the gardens. He guessed the boy was roughly the same age as him.

"Well since as long as I was old enough to train. So about thirteen years, more or less." he said with a smile. "What about you? How long have you been a Jedi? What planet are you from?" he asked out of curiosity.

Another one who had been a member of the Jedi Order for long now. Oscar seemed to be ones of the strangest ones, joining the faction when he was already considered too old to do that. His mother had told him typically so old people don't get to become Padawans of the Order easily. Some come from the Dark Side and therefore, are being cleansed. Some have a powerful story to tell. But Oscar -- nothing fantastic.

"I joined the Order a few months ago. I'm originally from Corellia, moved to Coruscant a year ago, I think."

He sighed and continued looking for the album. They had reached the gardens and Oscar was starting to get more hopeful. It was the only part of the Temple he hadn't taken a look at and it made him feel amused, actually.

"I am assuming your days are also full of training and studying? Have you gotten used to that?"

[member="Blaise Laurent"]

"Corellia is such a beautiful place, or so I've heard. I haven't quite been there myself yet." he said quietly. Blaise hadn't had the chance to go back to his own planet since he left it when he was a baby, he never knew it and couldn't remember it. "I was born on Alderaan but I've lived here all my life, pretty much." Though he did love the planet he had grown up on, he had always wanted to visit the planet he was born on.

The Padawan couldn't help but scoff. He trained as little as he possibly could and hadn't ever really studied properly in his life, though he didn't care to admit it. "Oh yeah, I spend all my time training. I got used to it from a young age." he said with a tone of voice that emphasized he was joking. "I don't get on well with work." he said afterwards.

"Huh..." Oscar grunted. Might have sounded a little bit ruder than he had expected it to be, but... whatever. He then tried to make the situation less awkward with a little cough. You know, just to make it look like what he had said was just a bodily sound.

"I myself try to train a lot to become more of a Jedi, but... I face some difficulties in doing that. I think I am not ready to actually make myself work," he continued after a set of forced coughs. "Having come from a perfect life makes it a little bit harder."

"But... I think everybody gets used to that in time, right?"
