Padawan Adventures.... They're.... Grate

[Sorel Crieff]

Sorel could not contain a chuckle. Zak's excitement and exuberance was infectious and entirely wonderful. There was no correcting his thought process. At times there was no understanding it either - but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. They were all Jedi and all individuals and she was not here to judge anyone for their personality. If they broke the Code then she would have something to say but otherwise she was going to enjoy her time here - and she suspected Zak would be central to that.

Valae turned and grinned at Joza, though she was certainly not excited about potentially dying in this place. Her grin faltered when Zak began to provide them with a colorful description of the... teeth-monster. She started to chuckle, until the youngling mentioned that said teeth-monster would end up eating her. Wait, just a second... how did he come up with that part of the story? And her brow furrowed upon hearing that her cooties would spread all across the planet. Well, at least in Zak’s story she would leave her mark on the world. But it brought up a good point – was she the character that was doomed to die first? In all of those holoflicks, it did seem that the nice girl-next-door was always the first to go. If that was the case, Valae was surely doomed.

“I’m not going to get eaten by anything, Zak.” She said to the youngling, but also to reassure herself.

She returned her gaze to the teeth, still frowning.

Orihime was just like the others and it was hard to contain her grin and snickering at the story Zak gave... she looked at Valae and funny how she was the one with Cooties while she moved over to look at her and patted her on the shoulder. "Don't worry, we'll all get the cooties and share in this heavy burden." She looked at Zak though and Joza had said something about them all dying but she looked at her. "We should be fine, four girls in the jungle.. the odds are the male protecting us will perish long before we will because he is brave and handsome." She said it pointing at Zak with a nod of her head when she moved to see if it was rock or tooth as she touched it.

Then something came, a sound in the distance while the water seemed to pull back with the tides receding to show ridges and roads that had been made before something was echoing in the distance with the water going into the air. To far off to see but the tooth was moving slowly from forward and back like it was trying to draw in more things and Orihime's eyes lit up looking at the large geyser of water going into the air and spreading out like a massive cloud until she realized how far it was spreading and going outwards. "Ah does that look like a giant loogy to anyone else... not just water?" She said it as suddenly it was a little shadier then splashing down on the ground all around them.

Joza couldn’t help but snicker at Zak’s train of thought, and also wonder how poor Valae became the group’s sacrifice. Did boys have some secret cootie measuring instinct that she didn’t know about? At Orihime’s quip about the young Nautolan being their protector, the Zeltron nodded her head with vigor. “Yes, Orihime is right. I’m certain that a courageous green skinned hero would come to our rescue. Also,” She paused for effect, turning her gaze towards Zak with a grim expression. “I hear that these teeth-monsters hunt by eating the loudest person they can find. So we must be careful to keep our voices at an…agreeable volume.”

Hopefully he would buy the outright lie, but that hope was soon forgotten as the group was distracted by a sudden jet of water that seemed to expand. By the time it had reached the Padawan Pack, it was too late. “I don’t care what it is, I am not getting drenched for the second time today!”

The small boy's head bopped from side to side.

As he went along with the group, the boy periodically skipped or danced or just seemed to move for the sake of moving. As Orihime spoke, the child's head came up. At first he was confused, then he just leveled an increasingly skeptical look at the woman. This male protector wasn't doing chit for the females.

Wasn't doing CHIT for the females.

And the Joza Pink Lady? The boy's head rolled back, his head-tails hanging down his back as the cloudy swirls in his inky black eyes did a full rotation - the Nautolan equivalent of rolling one's eyes. "Oh, it's the quiet game!" the boy chimed. Seriously, lady, he was nine. Save that weak ass chit for babysitting the eight year olds.

"We're doomed."

No, seriously, he lost the quiet game EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

So if this bad thing was attracted to noise, they were just going to be kinda screwed on that one.

[Sorel Crieff]

The banter was different to her usual missions - which were more commonly dark and foreboding, with plenty of exploration, a monster or two and commonly a point where the conversation went a bit deep.

So far, she'd only had to contend with cooties and loogies. It was like being a Youngling again. And given they were with Zak, it wasn't hard to understand why. She smiled at the attempts to undermine Zak's confidence - but he clearly wasn't buying it, or was too stubborn to take any hint.

If they were being stalked by anything within a couple of galactic clusters, they were making enough noise to be heard - and Zak was the primary reason for this...not that Sorel minded. He was a welcome light relief to the constant grind of life as a Jedi.

"We're Jedi," Sorel chimed in with. "We'll be fine. Probably."

Cooties, loogies... it was time to move on – literally. Valae felt the mist from the geyser falling against her face, and she wrinkled her nose. She smiled to Sorel, her statement was true. They were all Jedi, and they would be fine. The brunette shifted from one foot to the other, she was growing a bit impatient... and hungry.

“Ok, no more teeth-monsters.” She said, with a slight shake of her head. “Want to keep moving?”

Her chestnut eyes shifted from each face, but this time, she didn’t wait for the others. With hands on her hips, she began to walk off... but after a misplaced step, she found her boot slipping on a rock. She let out a startled sound, as she fell bottom first into the shallows.

At least it wasn’t deep, even sitting in the water; it only came to her waist. For a moment she remained there, with a frown on her face. But she stood up again, the water still pooling around her legs.

She saw them and then heard Valae speaking as they could move on and her grin faded a little feelign the water and viscous fluids from it over her face. She was wiping at it as the idea of exploring in a massive sarlacc in the water was cool and crazy but they should leave that for another opportunity. She agreed though that they could move around when she heard a sound and a plop in the water looking at Valae with a look on her face working to not break into a laugh.. it wasn't funny and the girl could be seriously injured in her butt.... she could have a broken butt.... then they would have to try and explain to Coci Heavenshield or her mother why a padawan broke their butt...

Sorel would likely have to explain to her mother and Sorel's master why they needed a butt cast for Valae's broken butt... Zak would likely have a tale to tell how cooties broke the padawan's butt.... there might be a song sung about it and how it happened. Oriime gasped though as all of that went through her mind and she spoke moving quickly but testing to make sure she wouldn't slip and break her butt or worse when she looked at Valae. "Valae you might have broken your butt you should sit back down until we can check it." She said it and was fighting a losing battle at not breaking into a constant fit of laughter when she came over near the other padawan.

Joza nodded her head as Zak affirmed that this was indeed the quiet game, feeling a little proud that she’d been able to convince the young Nautolan that…nope. She looked a bit taken aback at Zak’s response, her mouth hanging open for a few moments. That snarky little…well, actually, she could sort of appreciate that. Kid had moxie, whatever that was. Either way, she had been expecting a wide-eyed look of surprise following with obedience, not…for the kid to see through her ploy.

Oh well.

Luckily they didn’t seem to die just yet, but poor Valae had a misstep and landed butt first into a shallow pond. Thankfully she didn’t seem too injured, but Sorel seemed to express concern over the brunette Padawan’s booty.

“Aw, that’s too bad. Valae has a cute little butt! I hope it’s not broken. I think Nikias would be disappointed if it was.” A half-smirk tilted her face, but she cast a gaze of concern towards her friend. Landing on your tailbone was not a pleasant experience.

First he was shocked.

Next he was concerned.

Then he was laughing.

And now, he was just confused.

This was all about Valae, of course. He'd been surprised when she fell, and then concerned because he didn't ACTUALLY want her to be eaten-ed by the planet. Then he saw her sitting in the puddle and that was funny. Except Orihime said she might have broken her butt.

What did that even mean?

"How do you break your butt?" the Nautolan asked, his hands going protectively to his rump as he did. Then, like a puppy trying to find its own tail, the boy did a slow circle where his head was craned around. Yes, he was trying to see his own butt.

More importantly...

"What... what if you, like, had to fart but... but your butt was broken?" the boy asked, as the thought just popped into his head. "Would you, like, just explode?"

These were the important things that younglings pondered.

Valae was already blushing quite hard at the mere fact that she had fallen down so... gracefully. But now she could feel the heat burning on her face. First she turned to Orihime, her mouth dropped open slightly at her remark. “What the,” She shook her head; brown curls flew back and forth wildly. “No, no, no! No one needs to check anything back... there.” Valae couldn’t even bring herself to say the word now, she was too embarrassed. And it seemed that her friends were more than willing to make up for her.

And then her eyes moved to Joza, Valae’s eyes blinked at the mention of a certain man. “Nikias? Why – what... we’re... just friends.” She couldn’t even...

Perhaps she did have a bit of a crush, did everyone already know? Valae hardly had a moment to recover, when Zak spoke up. Despite the fact that Valae was a woman that cared little for fussing over her appearance, she was the sort that tried to ignore the fact that bodily functions even happened. It just wasn’t something she wanted to think about, unlike Zak, apparently.

“Ok, y’all...” She held her hands up, “Enough talk about... my butt."

Fine. She said the word, but she wasn’t happy about it.

"I'm okay, really. My dignity on the other hand..."

Orihime was looking at Valae to make sure she was safe when she heard it... from Zak and turned to look at him.... Oh my god she hadn't even thought of that...mostly because yes it wouldn't happen but that would be terrible. "Zak... girls don't do that." She turned to look as Valae who looked like a zeltron with a look on her face. She didn't want to say anything but went over by Valae and looked at her. "She is right you guys we shouldn't make her butt the butt of our jokes but we are just concerned Valae it is a very nice thing. We don't want you getting hurt." Orihime looked at her with a nod of her head before she looked back at the others with a small smile appearing on her face as she offered a hand. "Come on lets get you dried off and we can keep looking around. There were crystals around we could look at."
