Public Poor Little Soldier

Strange, it didn't feel as if it had been that long since Tegan had been down here, climbing off of her own transport down to the planet so that she could just get a little R&R. And now here she was, back again and yet not to return home any time soon. Nope, instead she was here for a possible job - something she had not at all pictured herself getting into when she had decided on a meal earlier. What would her squad mates think about this turn of events?

"Yeah, I got it." even with her thoughts drifting, Tee had heard everything Sy had said. And her response hadn't been snippy; she had nodded and spoked the affirmation with confidence. "Not a problem at all." The blonde soldier was perfectly alright with letting the other woman do the talking, and when they reached the elaborate ship, Tee stuck to her word and remained quiet.

A fact that admittedly grew a little difficult when said ship opened up and the pair were led inside. "This is a ship..?" she questioned quietly to Sy, frowning ever so slightly. There was living in the lap of luxury, and then there was showing off - and this, to Tee? Felt a bit like the latter. Though she supposed that's where that saying 'If you've got it, flaunt it' came heavily into play. Regardless, she followed through the ship and observed the lavish setting as they were brought into some sort of...well honestly Tegan had no idea. A room, yes...but she had never really seen such a thing up close and personal that she could recall.

When they were offered to sit, Tegan glanced to Sy, waiting to sit for now to see if the other woman would do as such. Though when they were offered refreshments, the soldier's gaze went to their hostess and she offered at least a polite smile. "Just water for me, please." she requested, and left it at that.

Sy was much in the same boat as Tegan as they walked through the elaborate halls.. If this was the woman’s ship imagine what her home was like. Though this was all of no matter right now, they were here to find out about a job after all. Even though it was impressive, Sy was seeing it more as flaunting of wealth. After all it didn’t take much to look at Zidol and figure out that she wasn’t a woman of luxury and wealth, most of the time she wore dusty and well-worn clothing, though clearly functional. Rarely did she wear an excess of makeup or do her hair. Infact the fanciest part about her was probably her blasters, even then they weren’t anything to gawk at.

Either way the cleared her throat lightly, giving a glance to Tegan with a subtle nod before she held her coat and sat on the cushion cross legged, making sure to keep her armaments inside of her coat hidden. ‘’Water as well please.’’ She spoke politely and exchanged a look with Tegan once more as she relaxed somewhat. They hadn’t had much time between getting Tegan outfitted and going to the ship, hence Sy hadn’t really had the opportunity to do research on their possible employer. Which now was getting more on her nerves, she had figured the woman was rich but after seeing her ship she was either some uptight noble or into something dodgy on the side. At least in Sy’s mind.

So, she figured they might as well start with introductions. ‘’Pleasantries then business I suppose. Well met, Miss. I am Zidol Khukhi. This is my partner Tegan.’’ She gave a brief wave of her hand towards Tegan, giving her the opportunity to introduce herself. ‘’You already know our business, So if I may. What’s your name and what’s the job?’’ Whilst she quickly got to the point, she didn’t try to come off as rude or otherwise. Infact she had a fairly neutral expression, she was good at hiding her true thoughts around those of wealth. So for now, she kept up a more neutral and professional expression whilst she maintained eye-contact with the woman at the top of the table.

Straight to business then.. Junko motioned with a hand as water was being brought for them. She didn't push for more just left it opened as straight to business was good once she had their names. "It is simple, my brother Shoma Ike Shoma Ike is very important to the emperor. He has been named heir following mythos execution of his children." She waited to see if they recognized any of the names but didn't dwell on it. This far out she doubted many cared about the inner politics of the Commonwealth. "As such he has stated his intention to be the primary diplomat as we work to go into the Farlax sector and hopefully convince them to join us."

She waited for a moment. "I want to hire you as my bodyguards and go in ahead of him to make sure things are safe. As much as I know he can handle himself the insurrectionists we chased off of Atrisia fled towards the sector and the Yevetha are not friendly with people. I can't let my brother walk into dangerous situations regardless of his bravado." She said it and if Mythos followers who had been exiled and chased out of the commonwealth could endanger them with help from the Duskhan League then she had a few duties... specifically there was her family one but she was a jedi master... and he was a darksider.

Bodyguards? Everything else up until that point had sounded like a decent enough job. But in most circles, bodyguards meant long term - a job that would take more time than Tegan really had to offer. She was a soldier first and foremost after all, and didn't have the luxury to galavant around the galaxy on a whim to play protective detail - no matter how important they were. And Tee was by no means questioning the importance of any one person.

But, she had promised Sy that she would allow the other woman to speak for the pair of them, and as such the soldier's gaze shift from their hostess to her partner instead. Slowly Tee loft a brow, and her lips were set into a thin line. While she understood the job held importance to their hostess, it was complicated for Tegan. However, this was ultimately Zidol's call, and if her partner decided that this was a job that the pair of them would tackle head on? Well, then Tee would figure out her end of the ordeal.

Whatever the case, she sat and remained quiet, just like she promised that she would before they had even come to this point.

Zidol listened closely to their hostesses offer, no doubt such a job would pay well. They could easily get a ship out of it, plus the pair of them were decently skilled so the job wouldn’t be anything out of their limits. However, it wasn’t what Sy was after. She was a bounty hunter, not a bodyguard. Especially as she didn’t know who she would be protecting, for all she knew the guy could be an nerf herder. The aspect of pay kept coming back to her mind however, this woman was clearly well off and the man they were offered to protect seemed important too. There was no doubt this would lead to more job opportunities of higher pay in the future. Leaning forward on her legs, she was clearly thinking it over, though her head was lowered so that her hat covered her eyes. It was hard to tell what she was thinking bar pondering the situation in general.

It was now that she looked over towards Tegan, her partner in this. Through all these thoughts she hadn’t considered how it would affect her. Her lips slowly curled into a frown as she noticed the woman’s expression, clearly it wasn’t something that she was happy about. They could discuss that later, but for now Sy believed the expression was enough to act upon.

Turning to face their hostess again she raised her head, so that her hat no longer hid her expression. With a polite smile she cleared her throat. ‘’Well Ms Ike?’’ She wasn’t sure their hostesses name, whether or not she married into the name and kept or own or if they were family. It didn’t overly matter she was just trying to be polite, so she continued in the same polite and professional tone. ‘’Im afraid this line of work isn’t for us. Whilst no doubt it would be a lucrative deal and its clearly important, however we have other commitments on this planet. Plus we aren’t bodyguards. Our skills may be transferrable yes, but that’s not the kind of work we are after. Thank you the offer none the less.’’

With the offer declined she rose to her feet and adjusted her hat, hoping that Tegan would follow her. She wouldn’t wake out quite yet, however she wanted to make it clear that there wasn’t much room for negotiation in this. At least that was her intent with standing, the offer was declined and explained as to why. To Sy there was no more business to be had here.

She listened to them and bowed a head at the decline. Internally wishing they might change their mids sure and they did not seem flush with credits to refuse but... she had seen stranger things. Still sitting there as the one rose up Junko followed suit and looked at her. "As you wish, thank you for entertaining my offer." She said it and didn't need to try and keep them... there was nothing less helpful then someone trying to bargain and for vanities sake she was not going to do such a thing. The look on her face though was neutral with the swirling thoughts. She turned to look at the other woman. "If you wish, please stay for dinner. I have no more offers lest you visit Atrisian space so an evening of entertainment before you two go off on your ventures." She turned and looked at the atrisian tiger as it yawned raising its head up to see her then licking her hand.

Tegan honestly hadn't expected for Zidol to turn down the offer. Her face had conveyed that there would be complications for sure, but the soldier knew that credits were on the line, and neither herself nor Sy had an overwhelming abundance of those. Regardless, the other woman had indeed declined, and then rose to her feet which caused Tee to start doing the same.

However, their hostess spoke up once more, offering the pair an evening of entertainment at the very least. Ingrained manners caused Tegan to stop once she had stood, and she had looked at Junko for a short time before her gaze shifted to peer instead at Sy. They had refused the woman's offer, would it be rude and bad for business if they also refused her less business-y hospitality?

"Up to you," she spoke up this time to her partner, and laid a hand against her hip. The last thing they needed in this budding partnership was for it to get shut down immediately due to some bad word-of-mouth from a high-end figure.
