First Reply Quiet Life, or Blaze O' Glory

Holding the bag in my hand, I walked from the corporate district back towards the slums. Just keeping my belongings tight against me. I got some money from my job. A nice tip here and there from being a waitress. All of that because I wanted to get some new clothes. Nothing much honestly. Just things that had patterns I liked, or some leggings that fit me well. It was just something to get for myself because thats all I wanted. A stable job, some nice clothes and company every once in a while to not feel completely alone. Walking past all the neon signs and light fixtures. The people around me drinking or just trying to live as normal as possible while the rest of the galaxy waged war with itself.

I stopped for a moment. Realizing my shoes had become untied. Old classic shoe type where there were cloth laces that kept the shoe on the foot instead of some kind of new shrinking nano-tech bullchit. I set the bag on the ground and knelt down to retie my shoes. Some guy wasn't paying attention and knocked into me. Pushing me over. I growled as now I was slick with the wet pavement dirtying my clothes.

"I'm sorry miss. I didn't see you."
"Then open your eyes and use them. Gods above."

Cussing a little at the man just slightly with the gods namesake. Just shaking my head as he walked off. I finished up and dusted myself off before picking up my bag. The wet spots clearly painted across my leggings and sweatshirt. Just disappointed that anything nice I had always seemed to get ruined. I just kept walking onward and headed towards my apartment. Just wanting to get home in time so I could get ready for work and go to the diner and do my job.

Yet another new day, yet another day of aimless walking. Reina wanted to try to get to know more about the Galaxy now that she was trying to be social. Trying to make the change from surviving every day to living. Letting the Spirit guide her through her day. Today it had decided that she should get herself a nice drink and take a walk around. So that's what she was doing. Sipping away at the straw as she took in the sights. Strange. Seeing how differently people lived in their day to day lives. She wondered if she could have ended up being like one of these people...only for her thoughts to end up getting interrupted by a small clash.

"I'm sorry miss. I didn't see you."
"Then open your eyes and use them. Gods above."

Huh. Someone seemed to be in a bit of a mood. Reina turned her head over to look, raising an eyebrow at the sight of the man and the woman. Her eyes narrowed for a moment, checking over the pair of them to try and make sure nothing had been taken before noting the woman's outfit. Seemed very...old-school. It was a nice surprise compared to the rest of the clothes she was used to seeing. Robes, battle armour...Maybe that was just an issue for Reina now that she thought about it.

Today she felt she should at least try to be a bit helpful though. Considering the woman's outfit seemed stained from the ground, it wouldn't hurt Reina to try and lend a hand. After all, Reina was good at manipulating water so she could at least try to pull the stains out of the clothes...Of course she wasn't sure if it'd work but it didn't hurt from offering.

"Hey. Erh...Miss with the bag. Are you alright?"

...Okay. Yeah. No matter how much she thought she was getting better with her social skills, she still wasn't great with strangers. Great.

As I was starting to walk away, I heard a voice asking if I was alright. Well, I assumed it was me considering the circumstances and the whole, "miss with the bag." I looked over her form. She was about my same height and age. Never can be too sure with how many xeno-people could live for so damn long. But her hair was fiery and long. A cascade of fire held within strands. It was rather pretty looking despite the whole expensive clothing that would mark her as someone who had connections or money. I just shook my head. A small smile thrown on my face to diffuse the situation a bit.

"I just have bad luck. The kind where I had a black cat cross my path while I was walking under a ladder with an upside down horse shoe on it. I'll be fine."

I kind of just stood there for a second before continuing.

"I uh appreciate the help, but there isn't much you can do. Don't worry about it. I'll just clean them later and hope the stains come out."

"Heh. Luck. I like to think things happen for a reason."

Reina shook her head at that, brushing down her jacket for a moment before looking back towards the woman. It was probably a strange sight with the pair of them. The woman seemed relatively normal to be around here, whereas there was Reina, in her fishing clothes with her harpoon on her shoulder...even though they wasn't anything to fish.

"But trust me. I think I can try to get those stains out for you. I haven't tried it before but..."

She sighed to herself, raising her hand for a moment and focusing on the stains. Trying to focus on as much of it she could see, as she used the Spirit to will the liquid out as much as she could. Twirling her fingers into a fist slowly but surely as if she was squeezing a damp cloth dry. It was hard work for her, even if it was something relatively simple. But it's because she was trying to work on her control. To be more precise as she tried to remove the stain.

She thought things happened for a reason? I just let the comment slide. Sure things could happen for a reason, but not with my life. I was... different. Either way, I opted to just listen to her as she stated she could remove the stains. A furrowed brow came to my face. a quick glance down at myself and the stains to just bring it back up to her.

"Wait, so you think you can do it, but never done it before? What is this?"

Like, sure if she had done it before. I might let her try. I was rather skeptical of what she was proposing.

"So like you have washer powers or something? If thats it then sure try it but never heard of someone being able to wash clothes as some kind of super power."

"I mean, I've done something like this. Manipulating water. So I'm thinking I can try to get it out of your clothes."

Concentration. It was a key part of this as Reina slowly but surely started to almost pluck the stain out. Drop by drop, building up into a small blob of dirty stained water. A small frown growing on Reina's face as she watched it. It reminded her of how she felt right now. Contaminated water. Dirty water. But that wasn't important.

"I'm Reina by the way. Technically...a Jedi. Though I've kinda only just started it all. It's pretty weird if I'm being honest. But hey. Free food. Beats fishing for a living."

Was she doing this right? The whole small talk thing? She wasn't sure what to talk about. Not many people would be thrilled by the concepts of fishing and the mechanics behind it...

Water manipulation? I had never heard of such a thing. I mean, like sure I knew there were times that I could influence items, but altering how water words just seemed... unheard of? Like that wasn't possible. However, my mind changed on that subject because it was not really possible for me to be living right now which is why so much happens to me on a daily basis. My hands indicating myself like I was wearing brand new clothing and ready to be oggled at, I shrugged my shoulders.

"Well I guess we could try that. Never really seen or done this before either."

As she introduced herself, I nodded my head. A Jedi? the people who were some kind of like Priests with weapons and powers. I didn't know much about them but it was interesting to see her be part of them.

"Uh sure. I'm Rin. Waitress of ye ol' diner and bad luck magnet."

"The Spirit works in mysterious ways. Or well...the Force. Luck. Whatever you want to call it."

Reina gave a dismissive wave of her hand. The whole philosophy behind the Force wasn't something she was interested in her. She preferred not to think about things when she didn't have to.

"You should see what some more experienced people can do. One person I know managed to send out like a wave of flames."

Meanwhile all she could do without getting exhausted was levitate small droplets of water. At least that meant she was able to slowly but surely pull the stain out. It wasn't going to look good as new, but most of the stain seemed to be coming out.

Spirit? So she looked into luck and the force as the same thing. At the very least a family of the same ideas. Shrugging my shoulders as I looked down to my clothing. The water of the stains was slowly coming out, but not all of it gone. I will admit, she did try and it was a valiant effort, but would likely need to still be washed out. looking to her as she spoke about more experienced people could perform. Even mentioning sending a wave of flames out like a weapon or a flame caster. I nodded my head to her.

"Yeah, I see the news where Jedi and Sith and what have you using the force like an extension of them. Its interesting but I just never understood it very well."

Looking back to my clothing then to her, i offered my hand in a shake.

"Thanks for trying to make it better. But uh... I need to go now. Get ready for work and all, but if you want to walk with me that would be fine."

"Oh trust me. I don't understand it either. Most of my own is off instincts. They're trying to teach me how to use it properly."

Reina shrugged her shoulders, frowning as she looked down at the stains. She wasn't that happy about her work but it was better than nothing. The fisherwoman put her hand out towards Rin to give a small firm handshake. A small nod in response to try and give Rin some respect from it before she folded her arms along her front.

"Sure. I don't mind walking along. I don't have much I should be doing. I mean...I should probably be doing meditation but that stuff is boring."

She shook her head afterwards. Going out and meeting people was much more enjoyable than sitting around and doing nothing whatsoever. It let her learn more about the Galaxy.

"Of course...It's probably better than me having to sell fish all the time like I did before I joined the Jedi."
