    Coruscant, Underworld

A single inconspicuous freighter gently glided through the swirling shadows of the massive spires which cluttered around like trees in a massive duracrete forest. It was said that Coruscant was the beating heart of the galaxy, although less so in recent months, as the Sith attack had left the ancient planet scarred and battered, perhaps irreversibly.

However, despite the drama that unfolded above, within the planet city's lower levels life continued as it always had, the only notable difference perhaps being an increase in the activities of the already prolific criminal element, which had infested this planet like cockroaches which not even the most valiant efforts on the part of the Galactic Alliance had managed to stamp out. And now that the interstellar government had collapsed, the cockroaches thrived off its corpse.

The freighter was a nondescript KS-5500 model, something that came out of the shipyards of a Geonosis-based industrial conglomerate, fairly common and popular with smugglers within the southern systems due to its impressive speed which made it an ideal ship for a quick getaway from an unplanned encounter with the agents of the law.

Moreover, it was the kind of ship that could be found anywhere in the galaxy and in the hands of anyone, which made it ideal for this task as a discrete means of travel. As ordinary as the small freighter was, its two occupants were anything but. At the helm of the durasteel bird, were two high-ranking Confederate officials, both of them occupying important positions within the government of a certain snow-covered planet which was known for producing some of the Confederacy's best warships and naval officers.

"The most important thing to remember when dealing with espionage," the silver-haired Sith Lord spoke to his apprentice and lover, "is that it is like walking blindfolded on a razor's edge. It is a delicate and highly complex affair which requires perfect balance and timing, otherwise it will fall apart at a moment's notice," he explained.

"Despite this, espionage is a crucial part of keeping a nation running. Being well-informed gives you an advantage, as it allows you to plan ahead and be prepared when events do occur. Additionally, it is a good idea to keep a close eye on your intelligence divisions, in order to prevent them from turning their scheming against you," Kainan said, remembering well the events that led to the evacuation from Winter, several years ago.

"The most important part is to always keep your cards close to your chest and never divulge anything unless it somehow serves your purposes. Thus, when taking a hands-on approach it is best to maintain a secret identity and not let those you're talking to know who you really are. This lets them relax and lower your guard, allowing you to catch glimpses of things that they think, yet would never divulge if they knew who you really are."

"We are going to meet with four people, today. Two of them are Wardens of the Shroud and know who we are, but the others are regular informants, the kind we use to simply keep an eye on the underworld, where one can always find warning of a crisis before it occurs. Criminals are very good at sensing when a storm is coming."
