Reconstruction and Reconciliation [Imperial Remnant]

[member="Alva Calvarona"] [member="Caius Flavian"]

The Street, near the palace.
Objective: Patrol and maintain order.

TK and his squadron walked down the tight alleys near the palace. The entire planet had been half glassed by the rather violent arrival of the Remnant. He smirked in his helmet as he readjusted his rucksack and did another check behind him. So far it'd been a peaceful day, until they received a tip from one of their informants.

Apparently Crinan rebels had survived the attack and some were holding out across the city in safe houses. TK had been given the tasking to find and destroy the safehouses, but rather discreetly.

Discreet. That was a word that eluded him.

"Ready?"

"Roger sir."

They stacked on the doorway of the targeted house. TK prepped a flashbang and stood back.

"Doorman go!"

The door was kicked uncermoniously off the hinges and TK chucked the grenade, pushing fast through the doorway as it exploded.....

Force users, or practitioners as the crinans called them, seemed to be in an odd abundance on this world. I glanced over to Lady Salinaro who also like the princess was a force… ‘errr magic user’ She was in a contemptuous mood and appeared to have her arms crossed. The other nobles present were primarily from houses Alina and Anca. Powerful families who wielded a great deal of authority especially now a days.

I had been delving into the history of the Crinans and doing my best to be aware of any cultural or societal norms. The old galactic empire from which we sought to emulate, conducted itself the same if memory serves on the treatment of its territorial worlds especially those who could govern themselves. In fact only a sliver of worlds actually felt the full dictatorship that we inherently were. Nearly 1 out of 80 planets had a direct Imperial Governor, at least back in the heyday of the empire. The remnant was truly that, the remainder of what was left of such a golden age. For the Crinans right now the way our government was conducting itself was keeping in line to the old roots of our empire. The citizens would govern themselves and we the imperials would ensure that conflict between peoples would not occur. Of course I could care less for the xenos kind. Crinans were of the Human species and thus we had more in common and to gain from each other than any other organization perhaps in the galaxy.

Still the facts remained, Crina was under Imperial Rule now. She may govern herself and her holdings, but she was subject to our laws and our order. I was very much aware of the number of storm trooper units patrolling the streets outside and most of the nobles present did too. In fact I had a certain hand in the insane number of check points we had placed in the city as well provided a much needed area of safety. A green zone. With this hotel acting as a temporary capital building for the Imperial Regime. The fact the nobles of Crina had to come to here and go through the securities represented the psychological shift I hoped to instill.

Even now the Imperial Service Bureau was rounding up those associated with the dissident rebels and the remaining rebels themselves. Special task groups appropriated from the storm trooper corps were assaulting. Most would simply be re-educated. Those that were deemed to high risk to the new order and the Crian government would be executed. Their age or back ground did not matter to us, It was simple, efficient, and kept the peace. My dual role acting as an agent of the Intelligence Bureau required me to participate in these affairs. I had chosen the diplomatic services for a reason and that reason was to gain true power through the use of language and dialogue with others. This skill set would come in handy
My thoughts briefly reflected back to my years spent in the core while living under the yoke of the corrupt edifice that was the republic. Each step in this legal process was akin to navigating a vessel through a mine field. A wrong move for either party and we could damage our relationship and the vessel sinks. I would strive to do my best and compromise, but there were issues that needed to be nailed to the coffin our people now shared…

“Ladies and Gentleman, and Mi’lady Calvarona” I began to speak as the Lieutenant finished reading the previous minutes. “Today we’ll begin the discussion of the status for everyone present in this room. Today I want to help define who we all are, Imperial Citizens” A murmur began from the other side of the aisle. ‘Now if only I did have the force because Idealism will only go so far

“We are all citizens of the Imperial Remnant. I myself did so voluntarily not but a year ago. You all understand the circumstances of how events came to pass for us to be having this discussion in the first place, thusly you may not feel this was your choice in the matter. That is the nature of a monarchy though” One of the nobles looked flushed and red with a face of anger at the words I had spoken of. The man appeared to have taken it as a slight. General Zaric, though calmly raised put his hand out toward the nobleman and he bit his tongue. I took a breath and continued “For that reason though we of the Imperial Remnant want to ensure that your people’s rights to self governance remains so. The issue at hand will be that of those of Crina who wish to leave… The civil war that your people endured for nearly three centuries was the result of discovering Interstellar travel to be a possibility. For that reason the rebel known as Nicoleta attempted to overthrow the government. What was it though that they wanted? What did these rebels want?” I knew the answer very well, the fellow officers of the Imperial military beside me were all aware. Many of us lost people in the resolving this conflict for the crinan monarchy.
I glanced at Zaric but he remained quiet. The rest of the nobles were restlessly whispering to each other. A slow uproar hummed in the air. My gaze came upon the princess.

-Crinan Rebel, Sid
-Rebel Safehouse; Near the Palace.

The young lad was fifteen. He had taken up arms against the monarchy because of the impoverished state that his family lived in. The Salinaro family had worked his father to the grave in the mines and his mother had died in the service of comforting a noble man…
He only had his younger sister and couple of close friends left in his life. They had been hiding out in a safe house that his best friend’s family owned. It was an old town house with a secret basement located under a rug in a small office space.
Sid was down in that basement with his sister and another friend the same age. “I think I might know a way we can sneak into the hotel. If we can put our detonators here we would blow up the dignitaries during their meetings.” A small commlink lay next to the trio as they poured over a map. They we ragged and worse for wear. The young girl had a rifle slung over her shoulder and two pistols holstered on her legs. Sid was armed with two pistols as well. Along with a rifle he had stolen off a dead storm trooper. Child soldiers, their lives shattered with little hope of living a full life… A hatred burned deep in Sid’s belly, revenge… The trio were gifted in the force, or magic, and thus they had an advantage that kept them alive so far… The remaining rebels were old men and kids, a few adults. Most had little to no combat experience. The rebels had rallied around these three kids because they could use the force.
We’ll need to generate a distraction somehow at the main entrance this way the Imps will be scrambling...” Sid spoke letting his sister Aurelia make note of this.
A explosion rocked the building and the foundation. The trio held on for a moment as somewhere above an explosion occurred. The commlink erupted with voices the loudest shouting “Imperial troops have entered the warehouse! Imperial troops have entered the warehouse, Imperial troop have…” Static as the comms suddenly became jammed.
Sid leapt to his feet “Damn them!!! Sis evacuate who ever you can. Jac and I will defend!”
Brother wait no!”
Just do it dammit
Sid scrambled up the ladder and opened the hatch to the sound of blaster fire, screaming, and explosives…
For Nicoleta! For the resistance!!!” He bellowed a rallying call

Well well, someone was certainly incredibly well spoken wasn't he. Too idealistic and optimistic though, at least for himself. Imperial Citizens? He would find that not even she herself, having sought enlistment, believed herself to be an Imperial Citizen. Their ideals of peace and order were the same, but to her she was fighting for that for Crina, not for the Imperials. The more she made herself useful the better Crina was, the more she supported them effectively the better her status, the better for Crina. The better her chances of rising above her elder sister, who appeared to be taking more political strides rather than military in the race between siblings. Cauis Flavian, Lt. Commander of the Imperial Remnant, he would find he would not gain many fellow believers here. Not in the way he desired.

She would point it out to him, not to insult or dash his beliefs, but to just perhaps stem him from accidentally provoking the Crinans, especially since it seemed he already had a nobleman on the brink. "We may be part of the Imperium now but Crina is Crina. We share common goals and beliefs so we work together well. I wouldn't push so hard to press anyone into your citizenship system just yet. You have near full cooperation with the Crinan Military and access to much of our records, facilities, and resources. Keeping the systems separate for now is best. As I believe much of the issue would be that it would detract from Crina's own needs of its people if the Remnant calls on them as well in the same manner."

Bringing up the rebels as he did confused her though. He asked it like a question. . . .General Zaric was thankfully calm as were a few. The unstable woman and nobleman worried her, and she felt she may have spoken up too soon before letting the nobles take their shot at it. "As for the civil war. Even we of the Royal Family are unsure of it. Nicoleta was a rather prominent figure, perhaps as prominent as Crina herself was before ascending the throne as the first Queen. She rallied against the Royalists and soon we rallied back. Because of contact with others we were unsure if this came down to greed to live greater than one might on Crina, despite the content peace and gentle world we had then, or if it was just such ambition being squashed. Only having been there or being able to talk to someone from then could enlighten us. Sadly we don't have much aside from Royal Records and captured Rebel Intelligence which was scarce. Its all jumbled, Nicoleta's apprentice left more information and revealed a few betrayals on both sides inner circle that spurred the conflict to explode as much as it did then, but by such time that was analyzed it had already moved past just being simply for the original reasons. Almost no data was left behind by Nicoleta herself. We presume when she went missing she hid any information she kept. Or took it with her to her grave wherever it ended up. As for the matter of leaving. . . . it has been settled. They won't. This war ended on our terms. We won, that was our goal, to maintain the peace and contentment and we will ensure Crina remains such a place. Our only leaving will be military forces deployed for the Remnant. To further preserve such an existence for our people. Crina will return to its peaceful days of gone."

“Princess you misunderstand my intention. I obviously do not have the authority to impose such a system. I’m merely looking to find a means to compromise between our societies. An opportunity if you will to alleviate the symptoms of future discord and ensure the peace of your home world. With all due respect you are certainly a prime example of what I mean by opportunity. You became an Imperial Officer and thus far have demonstrated abilities that far surpass just courtly affairs.”

I paused for just a moment and took another sip of tea from my mug. ‘An Interesting discussion today at least. The presence of Royalty certainly made the gaggle of talking heads more tolerable' I gave a barely discernable nod at her giving me a hint to take a step back. However my goals today were to take one step forward at a time. If prodding these folks into adapting a little bit at time to the wider circumstances then I shall do so with as little to as much finesse as needed.

"From what our Interrogators have gathered from those rebels we’ve captured the people who have continued to rebel to this day still believe in what may have been Nicoleta’s dream. To break free the bonds of this world and its regime and allow those who wish to find better lives else where the chance. I my self am not a believer in democracy or the merits of representative government, and those very same ideals seemed to be sown amongst the ideology of the rebels. Obviously the level of repression this world imposes upon its people is for you all to decide. I for one however want to enact a chance for future generations of your world to have that opportunity to leave this world. The path of Imperial citizenship is not something to be taken lightly. What I propose is that those who elect to leave, leave everything behind. Renouncement of status. The opportunity to become an imperial citizen they can join our civil corp or into the military.”

I paused again and mused for a moment at the sight of the nobles shifting uncomfortably in their seats. Lady Salinaro erupted “How dare you! This is outrageous, Mi’lady this slight is unbearable!”

Another Noble joined in “You think you can just waltz in here and dictate to us some sort of perceived flaws. You must be nothing more than a lowly peasant yourself to have such idealistic and perverse ideas! Our families have led this world for generations. The Royal Family are our rulers and these rebels decided they didn't want to follow the divine right our Kings and Queens hold! How dare you insinuate the princess is some equal to you

General Zaric looked as though he was about to intervene but I held my hand up for a moment as the two nobles finished their berating. These people had never grown up in the cutthroat courtly realm of the core worlds, people born into not just wealth but true power. I found it quite amusing to be called a peasant considering my past. No matter, ignorance is bliss and I was bred in this environment. I would not allow some pampered back water aristocrat to undermine this delicate matter.

“Again. I simply desire to enact an initiative to prevent future discord. Centuries of civil war, Centuries. It is obvious that not all crinans wish to live inside this system. Look at this as perhaps a chance to remove future rebellious minds if they have a better opportunity to move onto in a chance to achieve something better for themselves. Look at this from an economic perspective as well. With the expansion of our territory and the eventual conquest or assimilation of other worlds our military is going to grow. The chance for someone to join and receive pay means an income that will be spent here into your local economy.” I kept my voice stern and calm.

I was striving to be selective in my approach to this now as I got the reaction I wanted from their side. The coffers of their world were well spent. If these people had studied basic economics at a university in the core, well I’m sure this discussion would be simpler. Lady Salinaro’s remarks from yesterday about her family’s estate and the city of Miruna had certainly given me more ammunition to use in this debate. They would have to adjust in some ways in order to thrive. Otherwise they’ll stagnate and history will repeat itself.

Crina's second princess couldn't help but fold her hands in her lap and sigh as quietly as she could as she listened to the pair of nobles response to what Caius spoke of. Alva certainly disagreed with him, but the way they spoke really made them look bad. Salinaro was an utter fool, a true representative of her parents generation. When it came down to it Alva knew she could rely upon the members of her generation in power to be effective, as well as those like General Zaric, but those in between all seemed to be utterly incapable of proper coherent schemes and thoughts. "Peasant?" Really. . . . .that was a horrible word to throw around regardless of those being addressed and the circumstances. It really hurt image . . . .at least a glance showed the young Alina about to giggle at it, though it personally exasperated the princess.

Common folk could be easily riled up, it was hard to get them back in line, but Alva believed now that the rebels were defeated, Crina could potentially return to what it was before it all. Barring of course a few idiots like Salinaro stirring up trouble. But then that was why the old system had allowed things to be much more flexible as long as there were basic absolutes. The nobility had truly degraded when the world devolved into civil war. They no longer had to keep order, because there was none. They had to just keep people in line then, and they had grown lazy. Of course even Alva doubted her ability to perfect the system back to what it had truly been. She had to give her elder sister that. . . . .the other girl could definitely win anyone over. . . .it unnerved Alva not knowing what it was her older sibling had planned. She was taking awkward angles to achieve the throne, what if the other girl had something more concrete and perfected set?

In the end she merely sighed as she tapped the table briefly, pretending to think a moment longer before speaking. "No. . . .too soon for any of that. It would go against what we fought for, what we wanted to achieve when we finally accepted Imperial aid. The people of Crina are the people of crina. Those who serve, they can fight for the Imperium and be placed in Imperial units upon request and need. Our resources can be called upon when needed, but no drafts or alternative citizenship. It would empower those who fought to leave. They would flood your system, abuse it, use it to tear the world apart. It would no longer be their defeat, but their chance to beat down the order and peace that was fought for. Perhaps if the Remnant truly becomes an Empire again when such promises would have merit, but for now. . . .it would be detrimental. Could you imagine if the rebels all organized enlisting in the Imperial units and then gained access to escape and bring the Remnant's enemies and more trouble to Crina? just because they can lie their way in, and you can't catch them all. Crina must return to peace and contentment and accept order once more, and the Empire must exist in such a state it is undeniable, before I believe your idea would work without flaw. And even then there would be a specific way to go about it. In the end though, I believe it should come down to the Emperor, the Empress, and their council, and Crina's next ruler and their advisory."

Location: Rebel safehouse.

Objective: Capture or kill all rebel forces.

TK watched as shadowy figure ran through the halls. Two bodies already lay on the floor karked beyond all belief by the flashbangs. He was grateful for his helmet as he knelt and began to fire into the walls where he had seen the rebels. The squadron filed in, brining up the rear and following suit.

In his battle hardened state TK's mind slipped as he saw a rebel toss a grenade. When it landed at his feet he simply picked it up and lobbed it back into the kitchen of the house.

Fire and shrapnel burst through the doorframe peppering his vision and pockmocking his armor. Sweat pooled on his forehead as dim screams permeated the room.

"Kark it, squadron switch tactics to kill!"

TK charged through the smoke blinder than a bat underwater in oil. The first thing he felt was a body and he leaned his shoulder down, slamming into the man and knocking him to the ground. Two more hands grabbed for him, one set for his helmet the other for his blaster.

He pulled back swinging his elbow and connecting with a body. Then he pushed forwards slamming his rifle into another barley visible adversary. The small space he created allowed him mere seconds to bring his weapon up to his chest and blast the first man square in the chest.

"One down, watch the corners!"

TK felt a blaster bolt impact his shoulder. Burning sensation and the smell of melted plasteel thrust it's way through his nostrils. He collapsed back hitting the wall and opening fire wildly about the room.

"I'm hit, I'm hit!"

These aristocrats were a mixture of rotten eggs or reasonable individuals. The Princess was quite a stateswoman in how she carried herself. No doubt years of courtly grooming. I mused in my head how she would perhaps make an effective Moff with the charisma she had along with growing experiences outside of this isolationist planet. Since her path to the throne was unlikely being the second in line to the throne it was as easy assumption to make that she had ambitious goals. It was refreshing to have someone other than Zaric and the few of the youthful nobles whom seemed more open minded versus the ilk of the older generation.

“Mi’lady, surely by now you have realized who we are. I would think it obvious that presently we are in no way offering a chance for those who have rebelled or are affiliated with them the ability to join our ranks” I held my tongue on speaking of the death squads currently in use by the ISB to exterminate the undesirable rabble still clinging to their false hopes of resistance. In fact we were in the process of shipping people associated with any dissident to Rodica to be put into the manual labor camps. The price of failure was steeped high. I quietly sighed inwardly “Your perspective I respect and perhaps I’ll concede that my presentation of this matter seems to be in haste, but let me be clear I gave no specific time line for when could implement such a program. Lieutenant could you bring up the next topic for discussion today?” I would have tipped my hat to her if this was a less formal setting.

“Aye, next is location of land allotted to the Imperial Military for the purposes of establishing a planetary defense.” The young man read off.
“Major if you could introduce the proposed doctrine” I took a seat and took a long sip of tea.
An officer next to me stood and began into the topic. “Today I would like to present our defensive initiative. As the Princess has aptly pointed out we the Imperial Remnant are still in a fledgling state of existence. However to protect our citizens and the systems under our rule we are seeking to enact a doctrine we the officer corp have collaboratively wrote or made input for.”
The lieutenant moved to put datapads in front of the Crinan representatives. Each datapad featured a document titled “Her Lady’s Shield
“Thank you major,” I moved to stand by the holoprojector in the middle of the room “I would like to present our latest idea for the proposed defense of your planet.”
The Holoprojector turned on and an image came in focus of a formidable structure of Crinan architectural design. The flags of the Imperial Remnant and Crina dotted the various battlements.

-Crinan Rebel, Sid
The Storm troopers of the Imperials were pressing the rebels hard. Initially they were using stun weaponry. Then when they switched to lethal the smell of death filled the air. These were storm troopers. Fearless in their resolve to crush any resistance. That resistance was strong though and Sid would provide the leadership to exact revenge on the crinan monarchy even at the cost of his own life.

Sid fired several shots at the troopers who had proficiently taken cover. A fellow rebel tossed grenade which was promptly lobbed back by the imperials. Sid used his magic to push the grenade just in front the entryway into the kitchen letting explode harmlessly. A shower of shrapnel and splintered wood peppered the young Crinan boy.

Sid managed to a get a shot in on one of the storm troopers. The young lad took cover behind the kitchen counter. His sister and friend managed to scramble out the hole. Aurelia began to fire snap shots over the counter top. “Damit Sid this is not the time for you to be making heroics
Shove it sis this is not the time” Sid made to exit the kitchen. The back door to the building led to the alley but there was a causeway connecting the second story fire escape. “I’m going to distract them you two run and link up with others!”

Sid leapt from behind the counter and rolled out in the hallway that connected down the house into the main entry room. He used magic to enhance his movements. With this sudden burst of agility he leapt and rolled again behind a piano. With the blaster pistols Sid began to fire snap shots as well.
Aurelia and Jac attempted to flee up the stairs adjacent to the room.

Sadly being a moff wasn't in her dream goals. Alva desired nothing else than to be Queen of Crina, and for the title to hold absolute authority once again. It may be why to that end she was also being resistant to some of the Imperial ideas, even if some of them were more reasonable from the Remnant's point of view. After all, if she could make Crina wholly independent and more as an ally than holding of the Imperial Remnant then it would hold that absolute authority in its monarchy again, but it would be hard to do if the Imperials and Crinans mixed too much, especially when Crina was the only side that lost power and independence through such actions.

At least the next subject was much more appropriate and gave both groups much more to gain. Fortifications for the planet groundside. There were many ancient fortresses on Crina, especially near the mountain ranges and fords where there were excellent natural defenses. All of them lacked modern, technological, battlements though. Only the Cosmina Academy, The Andreea Yards, The Royal Palace, and the Capital City had adequete defenses in this modern period by even Imperial Standards. Her Lady's Shield promised to be the first of many grand citadels and keeps that would deter planetwide invasion. Everything about the design and structures and reasoning rung true with the Crinan Princess. "This is fully acceptable. I personally support this project in its entirety and I find the cooperation efforts to be satisfactory. Crina has been needing to advance the capacity and capabilities of its forts and keeps for ages. The Civil War never allowed for long term construction projects though planetwide. I believe the major question is the placement of many of these citadels and also the determination of whether we will be enhancing the defenses around other locations with existing defenses such as the palace, Andreea, Stefania, or Cosmina."

“Mi’lady I appreciate the endorsement perhaps however if we could all turn our attention to the following document entitled the Imperial Defense Proposal for the Luminita System also included on the datapads. I’ll simply say however that the determination of the defenses for Crina will be cooperative effort with the majority of the defenses left in the care of the Crinan Military,” I gave a nod to General Zaric whom after our long night and early morning of drinking had hashed out some sort of agreement. Although I guess a drunken stupor is not often the best time to be making decisions on behalf one’s organization.

“For the time being until we expand our holdings Crina is presently the Capital of the Imperial Remnant and for that reason I want to work diligently to ensure the safety and security of this system is a top priority and thus when we do perhaps leave the charge and care of this system fully in your hands Princess I hope to leave the Crinan people as an example of the peace and order we the Imperialists wish to bestow on others.” I spoke with confidence and pride in such words. Nothing mattered more than the greater good of the galaxy and as I had said the Crinans would certainly set a fantastic example of stability and peace that comes with being an Imperial system.

Zaric began to pore over the details of the reports. The other nobles sluggishly moved to begin reading as well. Even the lady salinaro began to read curious as to what the contents were.

Referenced Material: Strategic Defense Doctrine

TSFGC Proposal
Imperial Defense Directive of the Luminita System

Purpose
To determine and establish the defenses of the Crina.

Reasoning
To provide a policy of approach that the Imperial United Armed Forces and the Crinan Military join in a Collective Security effort which will establish the posture of protecting the strategic assets of the Luminita system.

Section 1. Imperial Military Installations
a.) Military Installations are to be located in areas that do not compromise the safety of civilian infrastructure with the exemption of government districts or space ports requiring fortification against invading forces.
b.) Military Installations are to be located in areas of strategic assets and significance.

Section 2. Strategic Assets of Crina
a.) The Shipyards of Andreea: This is where the IUAF will focus the efforts of defending the planet of Crina in accordance with the intentions of Section 1. The Ship yards are considering a strategic military asset and thus requires substantial military defenses to ensure the survivability of this economic and military asset to the Crinan people and IUAF. For that reason we the IUAF will establish a Centralized Planetary Fortification as a means of defense.
b.) The Space port of Stefania: The IUAF will establish one Fort in order to provide air superiority, escort duties, and provide support during customs checks.
c.) Stefania: IUAF will assist in the production and maintenance of a Shield Generator capable of providing substantial coverage from orbital bombardment in the event that the planetary shield generator is destroyed or scaled to defend the CPF. This will ensure the safety of the civilian populace.
d.) Miruna: IUAF will establish a Fort approximately 50 kilometers from the city limits along with a shield generator capable of providing substantial coverage from orbital bombardment in the event that the planetary shield generator is destroyed or scaled to defend the CPF.
e.) Mining Operations of the Tatianna Mountains: IUAF will establish several Forts at key passes in cooperation with the Crinan Military to jointly defend the resources of the mountain range from hostile acquisition.

Section 3. Orbital Defense Initiative of Crina
a.) The IUAF will establish in accordance with the Imperial Defense Doctrine an Orbital Defense Line above the Centralized Planetary Fortification.
b.) The IUAF will also establish Lunar Fortresses upon the moons of Constanta and that will be built per the CPF standardization. This Lunar Fortress will feature an additional planetary shield generator that will project its deflector shield onto the planet itself. This will achieve a double layer defense protocol thusly if the lunar base falls the Citadel located on the planet itself will be the next defensive protocol.
c.) The Orbital Defense Line and the Lunar Fortresses will be considered Naval Base Crina.
d.) In accordance with civil and economic affairs the IUAF will be committed to initial intersystem custom checks and for custom checks on the planets themselves the Crinan military will be left to the task of orbital and planetary custom checks.
Section 4. Void Security Anchorages
a.) In accordance with the Strategic Defense Doctrine Section 2.b.i the IUAF will construct and maintain VSAs in the Luminitia system

Looking over the new documents fully, Alva began to see a problem. This time the matters were far more important than she could possibly make comment on right on the spot. This was something only the current King and Queen could respond to, with perhaps High Command. In all honesty everything seemed ok, but that was just at first glance. Some of the fine print or actual theory in work might not turn out how she was imagining it. Most of the issue at hand as far as the second princess could see was where did Crina's own hierarchy and military fall within the structure? Where did they exist in the infrastructure of this plan? She saw some bits on the customs control, but all in all it seemed a bit confusing. Then again if one were to truly consider the Crinan Navy, it vastly paled in comparison to the Imperial Fleet.

General Zaric perhaps could have more input on this than she would. He had ties to High Command, he would have the insight on how it would and should be handled. It would end up there in the end. Still, Avla did her best to look everything over politely and thoroughly. "I don't see much of a problem with this. . . . .in the end it would fall to High Command and the King and Queen for a planetwide project of this scale, but what do you think of it General Zaric? Lady Anca I believe your input would be insightful as well."

-General Zaric Runera ((Finally came up with a last name for this guy))
He had finished the report, but a moment before the princess did. He glanced around at the others to see where everyone was at. When the princess addressed him Zaric took a breath and began to express some of his concerns “While well written I don’t seem to grasp fully what is you mean by customs checks? I take it you expect us to open our borders to external traders. I appreciate the effort to include such concerns I must express that our home world of Crina will not allow further external influence upon our culture. As the princess stated earlier with the citizenship it would undo the very essence of why we fought our civil war to preserve our way of life. However I’m amiable to limited external trade to be conducted on Rodica. Our Navy and Army will most likely enjoy the adaptation of this plan but will disagree with the appropriation of both moons to be used exclusively for the Imperial Military to be establishing lunar bases. I will say now that this plan is not going forward without the concession of this Lunar Base design be left to us and in return you Imperials would still hold responsibility for this, what is it called? Orbital Defense Line for above the planet. Also I disagree with the Imperial Military having such a significant presence groundside near our civilian areas. You state that you do not wish to set up near civilian centers yet are also going to take on the role of shielding each of them individually? I would rather that such matters be left to our people to set up. I have no problem with the defenses in the Tatiana Mountains or with this centralized planetary fortification at our shipyards. You might also want to consider using less acronyms in these reports. One last thing I’ll accept the terms of allowing us to develop in conjunction with you Imperials these CPFs. Especially that structure there. ” He pointed to the Citadel concept art. He turned to the other delegates to see if there would be any further input.

-Lady Alina Anca
Eager to express her own views on the matter that when prompted by the princess she had to suppress a gleeful giggle at the chance to make a statement of importance. Having been raised to discuss courtly affairs in a humble, modest, but stern manner Alina’s joyous glint in her eyes changed quickly to that of a kath hound hungry for a challenge. “I concur with General Zaric, certain details do not add up and I feel personally that our sovereignty might be in jeopardy. I saw in this rather long and detailed document, that your smaller proposal seems to reference a lot, a mention of Autonomous systems and semi-autonomous systems? Yet as the General points out you Imperials seem to be taking on the role of direct governance from the very same doctrine. It is a little confusing. I know that in our current state of affairs we may not be in a position to fully police ourselves but the steps here seem excessive. I may be young now but one day I’ll be as old as Zaric here,” She earned a brief glare from Zaric for that comment “and I don’t want to be seeing the Imperial armada just sitting above my home. I would rather see the beautiful vessels of my people guarding us. I understand that right now we are the capital system of your Imperial Remnant, but what about when you expand and decide to move the capital? I just want the same thing as our princess does and that is the respect of our sovereignty.” Her expression turned back to a happy go lucky expression and she looked over the princess with a beaming smile.

It was all well spoken, Alva didn't see any need to make further comments on things the way they were. General Zaric and Alina had made very good remarks on the matter, but at the same time she felt they may have been a bit too obtrusive. Nonetheless she smiled at everyone rather pleased and pleasantly while she let everything settle and soak. However, she knew had to speak up soon less other nobles attempt to speak up with less tact or skill and waste their efforts and appear foolish once more. "Their points are more to home than I could best say myself. Crina would very much like to cater to itself. However, I do see your points as well Lt. Commander. Crina's resources are not quite at that rate yet you may feel secure, I understand, especially when this world is the Remnant capital for the time being as well. Perhaps if this design was more intermixed. A moon apiece for orbital defense, an Imperial line and Crinan line, military bases with combined units, the like. I feel that if we are able to jointly operate it would allow Crina to maintain its pride and still be quite beneficial to the Remnant. After all Crina does still have a navy, and our military can support reorganization to optimize itself since our defenses are no longer dictated by the battle lines of civil war. Our forces can be deployed where needed to relieve the amount of responsibility on the Imperial Units, thus you also would not need to allocate as many Imperials, allowing other units to be deployed to Valc VII, Rodica, and Kalee, which all require more attention. Not to mention if I recall there were two more worlds the Remnant was looking to subjugate that are mostly empty aside from monsters. Soldiers will be needed for that too, the better you optimize the use of our resources to work with the Imperial's own the better our overall efforts. Crina's defenses become more efficient, the Imperials maintain a decent presence, and Crina can have a role in the defensive lines more and someday fill in the gaps should the Remnant change primary locations. I truly like this plan of yours, for now though to make it more efficient and likeable I believe people just desire we get Crina's forces more jointly filled in alongside our Imperial comrades. We don't want to leave all the burden to you do we?"

Location: Rebel safehouse
Objective:Kill the Rebels

As the battle raged TK fired from his corner, smoke and death filling the room. A medic came over to him and popped his armor plate, spraying bacta into the wound and he grunted. He hadn't taken a hit this bad in a while and he was sure he would feel it later.

"You ok sir?"

"Yeah gimme some anaesthetic!"

A needle was shoved into the wound and the clear liquid numbed the pain. TK popped the armour plate back into place and was pulled up by the medic. some of the rebels lay dead on the floor and some had fled. The house was emptying fast.

"Alright men, push through clear the rooms!"

Ikki appeared in a flash of amazing maid ninja powers because her writer had lost his place and now was playing catch up while the small atrisian looked on. The princess was speaking as Ikki slipped in and stood beside her, The maid keeping her eyes on the others looking for threats and dangers to her master, like a small hound ready to strike with tense muscles and razor wire that could take out most armors. She was watching and thinking about what was being said about the planet remembering some fof the reports about it from what the sith and the graug did.

Imperials enjoyed their uniformed presentation, it would seem, and the military-minded princess found the orderly attire easy to accept. She had adopted the official and rigid clothing of a minister of war with little hesitation, pushing for respect amongst the ranks of their transitioning Imperial guardians by conforming to the dress code and showcasing her emblem-studded markings. While authority had been peacefully attributed to the Remnant, the eldest Calvarona was intent on preserving the sovereignty of the Crinan nation and its crown. She would show the Empire that she could handle the big matters and play an important role in their command structure. This was her home, after all. No one was going to tell her that she could not do whatever it took to protect it. No 'moff' was going to subjugate them as long as she had power.

Irina walked into the great room in time to hear her younger sister's comments on the role of armed Imperial manpower in relation to Crina and the nearby systems. "We need to clean house, first," she interrupted, barely even glancing at Alva. "There have been reports of encounters with resistance pockets today. If we can't control our own sector, then you'll never have a standing presence anywhere else." This was her home.

Irina finally allowed her eyes to settle on the second Calvarona daughter, an indecipherable look on her face. She had said her part, but they may need to talk later--in private. The last thing these Imperials needed to see was weakness within the royal family.

A mild rise in noise could be heard emanating up into the chamber. The arrival of the first princess of Crina had stirred the nobles. As if they needed more stirring… I sighed inwardly but I kept a firm composure. I took a second to consider her words. Of course there were still pockets of resistance. Just because one may defeat an enemy conventionally does not mean they are defeated in mind and spirit. No these pockets of resistance as she called them were the smoldering remains of these fool’s inability to have quelled their own rebellion. This was not our only system within the Remnants territory. The Imperials were busy elsewhere as well with scouting parties at Kalee. Along with the ongoing operations at Valc VII to return that planet to a prominent fortress world once again.

Mi’lady Irina Calvarona, a pleasure to have you here. As I was discussing with your younger sister here and the other members of this committee of defining our defensive posture of this system. Joint peacekeeping operations certainly fall under this. Despite the defeat of the resistance in a conventional manner they have returned to fighting with irregular warfare tactics. Resorting to terrorism. Now our forces are asserting the fullest of crack downs. Again though they will persist unless you the ruling government find a means of treating the disease not just the symptoms. We the Imperial Remnant will continue to support the peacekeeping operations with our own forces until your royal armies and navy have made it back to full operational status and can conduct and handle these on your own.”

I sighed inwardly again before raising my mug of tea to my lips and taking a sip of the caffeinated beverage.

Aurelia Grata

Crinan Practioner and Freedom Fighter
Aurelia Grata had managed to slip out into the alleyway undetected. Crack and whine of laser fire sizzling past left a tang of burnt air on her lips. She reached out and could feel the mana around her. Two beings who held little to no connection to the mana that inhabited her world were fast approaching. These idiots thought they could come to her world and try and enforce their will upon us. They were just as bad as the monarchy. If not worse! She cast telekinesis to lift a can of trash and dumped it on top of two storm troopers who had rounded a corner. The two men were startled by the move, Aurelia took full advantage of that fact and rushed them both. She tackled the one on her right shoving her pistol into his neck and unleashing the trigger. The storm trooper was adeptly trained in hand to hand combat and managed to roll her arm just to the side blasting into the bottom helmet by his left ear. The other trooper having wiped away the garbage heap moved to strike Aurelia on her head with the butt of his rifle.
The young woman rolled using as much of her magic as possible to enhance her strength just enough to over power the storm trooper she was wrestling with. Putting the white bucket’s head in the path of the other troopers strike proved successful as a wet crack could be heard from the butt of the rifle connecting with the neck of the entangled trooper. The storm trooper slumped on top of Aurelia. She struggled for a moment to get her pistol out from underneath the dead man. The other trooper loomed over her bringing his rifle to bear.
Aurelia took a breath and reached out trusting the energy of the world to help guide her aim. She snapped her arm up and shot the storm trooper in the right eye. The laser blast scorched the helmet knocking back the trooper. He fired the rifle into to the dead body with a few more bolts spattering just inches from Aurelia’s face.
A sigh of relief did not last long. For the trooper was not dead. The blast had shattered the right eye visor and scorched the storm troopers face. He could still see and was lucky to be alive. He once again brought the rifle up. A sudden hail of blaster fire from down the alley caught the trooper in the chest hurtling him backwards. Aurelia looked up to see a few members of the resistance had made it out of the building. No sign of her brother though. Her moment of relief had passed and was now filled with worry. Still she had a mission to fulfill. The fighters tossed the body off of Aurelia and the group moved to a manhole cover of the cities rudimentary waste system.
The rebels managed to close the lid above them just a second before a squad of storm troopers came rushing around the corner to find an empty alley way and two dead comrades.
The rebels quickly took off in the direction of the hotel. A flashbang could be heard behind them as the storm troopers apparently realized that the crinan freedom fighters must have attempted to pull a fast one.
Aurelia’s mind was easing and she took a breath, she focused on bolstering her comrade’s minds and fortitude. A skill she had learned at Cosminia although it was one of the more difficult magic arts to learn. Today she would get revenge.
For Nicoleta” she quietly prayed allowed as the pounding of a dozen pairs of boots could be heard echoing not to far behind them...

Well, Alva certainly hadn't expected the arrival of her older sister at this meeting.

When she had heard the door open the second princess of Crina had believed that it was just a member of staff or an aide or another noble or Imperial officer who was entering the proceedings. Irina making an appearance was not what she expected at all. In fact Alva felt incredibly nervous hearing her elder sibling's voice resonate clearly through the room. Especially with the things she had to say. Irina had been busy with her own work since the Remnant had moved in on their world. Alva knew her older sister was highly intelligent, well versed in the matters of court and political intrigue, and was highly trained in both martial combat and magical techniques from their quite extensive education at the Cosmina Academy. Irina was perhaps the most well bred of Crina's current princesses one could say.

She was certainly the one presently most expected to ascend the throne. Irina had all the talent and ability and right as the oldest heir to the throne, and she was competent and ambitious too, perhaps more so than Alva herself. The second princess often wondered what Irina was up to since she knew how much Irina like herself and the rest of their family cared about their world and its safety and peace. However, she also knew that since Utena wasn't very driven normally to try and assert her right to becoming the next Queen, Irina was also her biggest obstacle in her life's goals. Still, that didn't mean she didn't love her sister. It was just a. . . .sibling rivalry was all. If Irina did secure the throne as was her right, then Alva intended to support her.

Alva could tell Irina likely wished to speak to her from the look she briefly received. Whether it was displeasure in how she was handling matters today or that it was something the Imperials simply shouldn't hear Alva wasn't sure. Perhaps the second princess had made some mistake the first princess wished to rectify. Alva tried not to appear concerned but she did find herself wondering how Irina would have handled most of the discussions. "It's wonderful to see you Irina. You've been busy lately I've wondered what you've been doing. I'm glad you came today. I agree with you a lot actually, I hope with you here maybe we can better secure the matters at hand we're discussing."

"Hello, Alva," she greeted in turn to her younger sister, nodding at her comments. At least they had common ground in this case. But Irina believed they needed to push stronger than Alva had been. "We need to assert ourselves a little better," she whispered.

She could feel all the eyes in the room settle on her after having made her presence known. While she had only localized military control and absolutely no political authority in legal terms, her influence as Crina's probable future queen was not to be underestimated. There were those who understood that what they gave her now would be repaid in kind come her turn on the throne. She had the home field advantage, and the people who wanted to ride on her coattails would undoubtedly support her despite what the Empire might say.

However, the Imperial overseer did hold authority--and it had been earned, as opposed to inherited--that was not attainable by the Calvaronas, and his status within the greater hierarchy meant that his decisions were law. Irina would need to make sure to handle this correctly if she wanted to promote her position without disrupting the Imperial command. "That is understood," she responded to Flavian. "But you forget that you're only established on our world. That is to say, we are your host, and without us the Empire would be unstable, as it were. I only ask that you consider my people above pushing the borders."
