Regulation of Unique Canon Items

Netherworld

Well-Known Member
1. Only one writer may own three Canon items. You, as a writer, may not own more than three canon items.
I think the above wording is pretty confusing (or at least it was to me).

1. A writer may possess no more than a total of 3 canon items across all their characters.

The above would be my suggested change.

Spencer: did you want this to be 3 items or 5 items?

Read and get familiar with the following. Also, I think it would be a good idea to restart the Last Known Owners of Canon items list after the writers choose the 5 items they want to keep. Only those items will be grandfathered in. With that, we will need to get started with a thread for people to claim the 5 items they would wish to keep. I'll post that up on Thursday evening. Please look over this so that when/if people have questions you are capable of answering them.

Known Owners of Unique Canon Items.

Due to the high interest in canon items and a desire to streamline these requests, the list of Last Known Owners of Canon Items will now be officially regulated by the Factory Staff. All desired claimed Canon Items will be required to go through the same Factory approval process as SW Chaos Technology, Vehicles, and Starships.

Note, this is for unique items such as holocrons, artifacts, named canon ships, etc.

Writers who own more than 5 items will have to chose from their collection the ones they wish to keep. The rest will be released into the galaxy. All pending claims will have to go through the following process of development threads, submission, review, and approval prior to being added into the list of Last Known Owners of Canon Items, .

Unique Canon Item Claim and Factory Submission Rules

Due to the timeline, it is assumed most canon items such as artifacts, starships, and technology went missing or were lost during the Gulag Plague. However, it is the writer's choice in how to go about searching, discovering, and claiming the canon item but please follow the below rules.

1. Create your Unique Canon Item Factory submission in the Factory respective to the type.(Technology, Vehicles, Starships.)
2. At the bottom of the submission, please post an announcement in bold. "This is a canon item "
3. Below your announcement, link to the Canon Item’s wookieepedia page.

Owning a Unique Canon Item or Artifact
1. Each writer may possess no more than a total of 5 canon items across all their characters. Factions, companies, and other organizations are unable to claim canon items.

2. Each claim for a canon item must have their own development thread. Depending on the canon item, dev thread requirements may fluctuate.

3. Each Canon item must have their own Factory submission appropriate to its class. I.E. Technology, Vehicles, Starships.

4. Once approved, you may now request to claim it on the Last Known Owners of Canon Items, and link your approved submission.

Inactivity With Unique Canon Items

1. If a Canon Item Owner is absent for more than 30 days, any writer who has not exhausted their 5 canon item slots may contest your claim by creating a submission of their own for the same Canon item. ( Linking as Primary Source the previous Factory submission to it if any and the Canon Wookieepedia Link.)

2. The Factory Judge presiding will alert a Role-play Judge, who will then attempt to contact the previous Canon Item Owner.

3. If the Role-play Judge fails to contact the previous Canon Item Owner within 72 hours and deems the Canon Item Owner inactive, the Role-play Judge will then alert an Administrator who will then transfer ownership of the original submission to the new Canon Item Owner, along with any edits made.

FAQ:

1. Would a unique canon item I've developed in a thread to destroy count towards my allotment?

Yes.

2. If i am giving a unique canon item to another writer who has free allotments for canon items, do they still have to do a development thread?

Yes, as per the rules to claim a unique canon item.

3. How long do I have to submit my claim for my grandfathered items for my allotment?

30 days from this announcement. If you have not claimed the item, they will be considered free to claim.

4. Do I have to submit a factory submission for grandfathered items?

No. These are grandfathered in and do not require a Factory sub. (Unless you want to make one).

[member="Spencer Jacobs"] And all

Edited in the amount for 5 in my above post.

Please give it one last review and if there are no other concerns or questions to add to the F.A.Q. we are ready to rock!

I just realized we can post this, and then just save three posts under it as reserve in the thread and make it the new list as well.

So we save space and don't have a lot of stuff pinned.
