Repo Men: Agents of Orange (Lords of the Fringe Dominion of Serpena)

[member="Lucianus Adair"] made off with the holocrons, datacrons from that particular vault with a mighty jump. Ahani laughed and hopped down from her position on the roof, taking one of the bags. "I'm keeping you. Consider this your only warning."

The Sith Lord jumped down from the building and started off toward her ship, next thing was they needed to get out of atom and off the planet before the plant wench found her stuff gone. After all, Ahani had no desire to continue that conversation started all those months ago on Atrisia. Circe'd stolen a fox with an attitude problem then, and now? Well, Ahani'd finally paid her back. "Whiskey's on me."

Calling to her Handmaidens, Ahani passed off her bag and started barking orders to the echani on her ship. "Take us out of here, signal the Brynjar we're coming home and we've got presents. How're the orbital defences doing? Someone get me and my fellow predator a drink!"

Jorus Merrill Siobhan Kerrigan

The Echani woman nodded to Firemane's Vice President and undisputed greatest weapon at both the comment on the crew's experience and the definitive claim to eliminate one of the opposing Subach frigates. It was certainly true that the crew's aboard Firemane's cruiser and frigates weren't used to working on the vessels in combat, but nonetheless many of them were trained soldiers that had have had to have seen battle before. Thus they were certainly able to be trusted to follow orders efficiently and to the letter, even if they might not make sense right away. Were they not Hecate would not have attempted such a subtly laid and baited trap for the Subach fighter squadrons that required timing and willingness to risk falling apart. The success though would only mean the crews, pilots, and soldiers further trust and also encourage them to consider such tactics themselves and thus understand and recognize them in future battles. Well the smarter Firemane troops would anyway.

However, the Lieutenant commanding Firemane's fleet in the conflict acknowledged her own shortcomings as well. Siobhan's offer to eliminate one of the frigates for their forces was not something the Echani would normally consider. All the same she didn't hesitate when commanded to focus their attack on the other ship, ordering the gunners and missile crews of the Thuella and Illyria vessels to concentrate their fire together on the frigate her mistress had not pointed out. While the bridge crew hurried to follow out these commands Hecate stared in awe at the woman beside her as she felt Siobhan's control of the force. The young and newly apprenticed Echani had noticed several ripples in the force along the battlefield as powerful force users' abilities flared up. However, she had to saw Siobhan's beside her was the most concentrated of raw strength as she felt the vast amount of power her mistress was drawing upon and directing toward the enemy frigate. It hardly surprised Hecate then when a bridge officer reported the enemy frigate appeared to be imploding. Hecate had sensed the deaths as the bridge of the Subach ship had been dragged down through the remainder of the vessel, from the outside it looked like it was being crushed.

This didn't mean the rest of their forces paused though, missiles slammed into the other frigate and turbolasers and ion cannons splashed against shields until they flickered and fell and thus allowed those aforementioned cannons to slam their fire directly against the hull, targeting systems along it and several weapon emplacements. Once the torpedo and missile salvos demolished the frigate's engines and left it adrift the Echani grinned. "Mistress I believe the other vessel is ripe for boarding now. We can deploy gunships when ready. Our Ion Cannons can keep them disabled and we'll have turbos pinpoint their few active emplacements left. I'll have some of the fighters diverted to escort our forces. Do you wish to accompany them? Or shall you depart to link up with our allies?"

TARGET: ORBITAL SHIPYARD COMPLEX -- OBJECTIVE: BOARD AND RAID

Skye made short order of this particular section of the Orbital shipyard complex. It took a bit of work, but she managed to figure out the direction of the command control center.

That was her objective. With the droids at her side, she began to make her way towards it.

He looked up at her with eyes gone red. "I don't know how to be what you need now," he said through stiff lips. "Tell me who to be."

[member="Layla"]

He kept an Ambassador in his left hand as he entered the vault, just in case of trap or backstabbery, but all was silent. Various lockboxes adorned the place, butthe sight that had provoked his exclamation was a full-sized glasteel shipping/display case of what looked like Sith scrolls or something along those lines. Not his area of expertise. Kneeling, he checked the shipping manifest.

"Malachor Five. Now that's a name I've not heard in a long, long time." He chewed his lip as he stood. "You got any special need for the rest? I'm thinkin' this crap shouldn't see the light of day."

"Mahet, take the ship down to this point here, the main Subach-Innes facility."

This was a lot of ground to scour looking for a priceless piece of research. Dissero wasn't entirely sure where to begin, he had a fallback plan but there was no assurance it would work. Truthfully, it all depended upon Circe Savan and what the woman had done with the replica after she'd found out it's true identity. It might've been destroyed in anger - Dissero hoped not, and he thought not. Savan didn't strike him as someone who devalued hard work, especially when it could be of benefit to herself. She'd wanted that Otherdrive for a reason, of course, same as anyone else who had any inclination towards what it could do.

TARGET: OTHERDRIVE REPLICA

With orbital defenses down or at least far enough spent to allow entry, The Magnum Opus cruised in through the atmosphere, shuddering as it cut across the horizon of Serpena. Sailing low then over the landscape, it came to an inelegant stop thousands of feet over the shadow that was Subach-Innes.

Dissero opened the Fringe channel on his comm.

"Attention all Fringe associates, this is Lord Dissero aboard the Magnum Opus, currently in position over the main Subach-Innes facility. Is anyone presently on the ground at this location?"

[member="Hecate"]

Siobhan took a moment to gather herself as she witnessed the implosion her telekinetic prowess had caused upon the frigate, while the guns of the Firemane flotilla crippled the other one, leaving it adrift. Torpedoes and missile salvoes had demolished the ship's engines, leaving it ripe for taking. Judging by the reports they were getting it appeared the...coalition of the willing was making rapid progress and so it was probably only a matter of time before Serpena fell. This meant that in practical terms Firemane might have a number of ships in space to claim.

Personally Siobhan doubted Subach-Innes craftmanship, but if nothing else they could always cannibalise them for spare parts and guns. "Prepare boarding forces to claim the vessel. Figure I'll go with them. I doubt there will be much resistance. SI is not known for its staying power."

What did she need him to be?

She needed him to be what he had always been. And that was simply there. She realised now, what this had done, was doing to him and that made her hate Nemene even more, made her hate all of them. "I can't tell you who to be. You could be Galeth or you could be Rel, or you could be the nameless Bard, it doesn't matter, I'll love you all the same. What matters, is that you are here, that you are with me, because I can't do this alone." Her voice cracked and her eye glistened with tears and she bent down to kiss him.

"I need you to survive this, Rel. However you do that, is your call, not mine." Getting to her feet she pulled him up, putting his arm over her shoulder to support him.

"Of course Mistress Siobhan." Hecate turned to the officer at communications and issued the command for the soldiers awaiting direction to be ordered to the Silaqui gunships and dropships in the hanger bays. They would launch as soon as Siobhan boarded one of the craft as well. Adril strafighters would be diverted at the same time to realign themselves around the other vessels to provide escort, though at this point it seemed this side of the battle was winding down. It was unlikely anymore surprises still existed except for clean up. If any fighters had been held back in the crippled frigate to be launched as a surprise attack then the Adril squadrons would shoot them down before they reached the gunships, and if any weapon emplacements tried to flare up again then the Thuella and its frigate support would shut them down in quick order with well placed turbolaser fire.

The click click of heels would come just to the right of Jorus, as the long legged brunette ambled her way over. She came to a halt just in front of the glasteel case.

Her eyes would narrow, "Malachor V..." her expression would be stoic for a moment, before she would ultimately shake her head.

"There are some things better left lost." she said, turning those chestnut eyes over to Jorus. A glance would drift over towards another crate. In it would be more items of note. Dark Force Crystals and datacrons likely from an age that would be used for any kind of malevolent item.

A sigh would fall from her lips. Seconds would tick.

"Destroy it all."

[member="Hecate"]

Dropships soon shot out of the hangar of the Thuella, screened by a cover provided by fighters and gunships. Across space they swept towards the hangar of the SI frigate. What fighters the ship could still launch were blasted by the Adril fighters, beautiful explosions blossoming in space as they melted before the Eldorai and Firemane flotilla like snow before a supernova.

Soon the dropships had landed, landing ramps lowered and Firemane elite troops rushed out, quickly setting up cover in form of barricades, e-webs and rotary cannons, spewing out crimson rounds of death against the SI personnel and droids that still dared to oppose them. Heavily armoured soldiers equipped with bolters followed, Eldorai Angelii blazed a trail through unleashing first the power of frost and ice, a powerful gust of a wind tearing through the hangar as the temperature began to sink dramatically then blossomed into a beautiful blizzard, carrying snow at tremendous speed and velocity to blind the enemy troops. What snow and ice had begun fire brought to a close as the pyromancers unleashed blazing flames upon the disorientated defenders.

Siobhan did her part with a telekinetic wave that sent them flying into the walls and sometimes through them. As the Firemane strike forces charged across the wreckage and bodies many of the SI troopers threw down their guns and surrendered, unwilling to give their life for no reason. After all, they had probably joined for a steady income and such, and clearly they were not getting one anymore.

TARGET: SUBACH-INNES FACTORIES ON THE PLANET -- OBJECTIVE: BANK AND PURGE
TARGET: ANY HOLOCRONS OR FORCE ARTIFACTS -- OBJECTIVE: BRAG ABOUT HOW EVERYTHING WORTH ANYTHING IS ON CRYSTALSONG

There was never a single moment that could go by where events such as this day had not passed by. It seemed almost routine being with and around the one once known as Circe Savan. Suffice it to say, 'Circe Savan' was dead and Myra Subach was retired, leaving only a one Cassandra Cinthra in their wake to take over the company; taken over, if any change in hands had truthfully occurred at all. Ashelotte was, in fact, only there for that one reason. She'd come to make certain the job the top secret IBIS droid started was thoroughly fulfilled. All she cared about was reclaiming the body of Circe Savan and all of the lab samples she used underground locations on Serpena to produce. The former was simply a precaution, the latter a thing of value and danger should it fall in ill-willed care.
Out from hyperspace, far off from the planet's well came the lone, black Deathbell, cloaked and turbocharged, its superior speed of its class pushing it closer and closer to the atmosphere with each passing second. Outside any kind of contact range, it sat and waited. There was one thing in particular that could be let to fall into no hands, especially none nigh the Fringe; Ashelotte's private lab, sealed off from the outside world when the IBIS droid fried all non-tank systems and caused all of the thick shutter door hardlocks to deaden in place. Assuming anyone even stumbled upon it, it would take hours or even days to cut through all the durasteel and heavy anchoring mechanisms with even the strongest plasma torches on the market. Seemingly inert from the exterior halls anyhow, lush with dust and mild overgrowth, it wouldn't have been a priority to objective passersby anyway.

So long as the Deathbell remained outside the range of the interdiction and the Chimaera's CGT, it would not be detected. Likewise, so long as the hidden cache remained undisturbed, it would not be detected or looted. Perhaps a cautious pilot would come back for it at a later time.

He contemplated another hyperchuck, but now seemed the time for something else. With a terse nod, he opened the display cases, backed up and clicked the shotgun closed. "You're gonna want to stand back," he said.

The first shot was AOE CryoBan. Scrolls and datacrons froze solid. Second shot was concussion. Most of it shattered to pieces.

Third shot? Incendiary.

His head tilted. Eyes half-closed, he walked through the dying flames to shove surviving items into a pile with his boot. "Well, looks like this junk can tank whatever I can throw at it. So I'm gonna have to throw something else."

His eyes snapped open, blazing with hyperlight, and the little pile of Sith artifacts accelerated to lightspeed, right through the wall of the vault and ten bulkheads after. The ship groaned, and wind howled around the holocron-shaped hole, stirring a cyclone of ash and embers.

"Think it's time to bail."

Time would cease for a moment.

In those white orbs Layla saw a sight she'd never thought she'd see. A thought would flutter of another time, another place.

A hint of a smile would curl at the corner of her lip. Her expression? A glimmer of pride.

"That we do," came her velvety coo, having already begun to take a couple of steps back. Chestnut locks would bounce with her step, the black catsuit hugging her curves.

"This ain't the only ships likely to have goodies." she said in passing, speeding up her step to exit the vault.

TARGET: ORBITAL SHIPYARD COMPLEX -- OBJECTIVE: BOARD AND RAID

Reaching the command center of the orbital shipyards took a bit more work than expected.

But that is life.

With the droids in tow, she managed to get just off to the outside of the entrance. It was locked up tighter than Trisana's chastity belt. Which considering her own husband had yet to consummate their marriage, meant it was going to be a bit more difficult to get into.

This is where she really wished [member="Jonathon Patches"] had come with her.

But she wasn't going to admit that aloud. Nor ever -ever- let him know.

Dissero received no answer, which perhaps was just as well. Serpena was a big planet and, certainly, there were many other places the Fringers might be.

"Right," his gravelly tone drew out in thought. The Archivist lifted a hand to itch at the overgrown stubble on his chin, "Plan B it is. Mahet, engage the homing beacon."

There was a chance, however slim, that the tracking device he'd slapped onto the replica at the last minute on Kayri would still work. It's signal, if the thing wasn't buried beneath hundreds of feet of dirt and metal, might be strong enough to detect from the air above the facilities. If it failed, there was still a chance he could find it.

There was no one else quite as familiar with the feel of Charon technology and the presence it gave off than Lord Dissero himself, after all.

To the victor the spoils of war are granted to him.

In this instance, salvage and ships -- as well as any delicious booty that would be found within the nearby orbital defenses or the ships drifting aimlessly due to the ion blasts.

It was boarding time.

"Mates, we got ourselves plenty of time now. " His voice would boom across the comm to the pirate crew. He was taking sweet pleasure in this. "Plenty of time to do what we do best."

Blue eyes would glitter with malicious glee as a toothy grin split his face in two. Palms lay flat on the bridge deck, and like a Nexu sniffing out wounded prey, he would attack.

"Get ready to board lads....we are claiming our just deserts. Enjoy it." be it slaves, women, weapons, treasure, or salvage in forms of more ships or upgrades, there would be no denying the ruthlessness of what the Blazing Chain Pirate crew would soon wreck upon Subach ships and personal.

It would be a bloody, but profitable, glorious day.

By this point Rel was well and truly in shock. The blaster bolts had punched craters into his thighs, right through the shipsuit. The depleted submachine gun fell from a nerveless hand, clattered to the deck. He couldn't feel her kiss, let alone reciprocate.

"You won't like me...when I'm angry..."

Syncope claimed him.
