Rest, Relaxation, and Shotguns

Lor smiled lightly as his hands went to unbuttoning Rawnie's shirt.
"You might have to help me a little, then. Wouldn't want either of us to open more wounds, would we?"
As he finished with the shirt, his hands went under it and he held her again while he kissed her.

As they kissed, Rawnie had taken to fiddling with his own clothes, trying to undress him as best she could. At least he hadn't been wearing a shirt. That was one step down. And she hadn't been wearing pants. If they were careful, and took their time, they could make it work.

"You know," she said, pulling away from his kiss just for a moment, "I've never done this before."

Lor smiled a little bit nervously as he looked into Rawnie's face.
"And I haven't been with anybody who actually cared about me before. It feels... nicer."
He stopped for a minute and just hugged her. She felt nice and soft, and he felt warm, and she smelled good. The Chiss was far happier than he was used to being, and that was probably a good thing.

But he was experienced then, at least. She could follow his lead. Not that she didn't already know the... basics. But there was far more to it than insert tab A into slot B. She hugged him back for who knows how long, warm flesh touching, tickling. She ran her fingers through his hair, ignoring the pain as he lightly pressed into her injured shoulder.

"Lor'ika?" she purred, "I just want you to know that I'm glad I met you. Ni kar'tayli gar darasuum."

She didn't translate that for him. Either he would know what she was trying to say, or he wouldn't. But her meaning was clear. 'I will know you forever'. The closest thing they had to a confession of love.

Lor wasn't exactly sure what Rawnie had said to him, but the tone of the words was clear, and they made him even happier than he already was. He stared into her eyes and smiled back warmly.
"Ch'ah ch'acah vah cssi, Rawnie."
I love you, too. Of course, the pronunciation probably wasn't enough to get the point across, but he hoped it made sense all the same. He kissed her again, a bit less lightly this time, still keeping his arms around her.

She looked back into his eyes. Red. They stood out against the beautiful blue off his face. She smiled at his words. She knew what he meant. She may not understand the words, but she knew the meaning behind it regardless.
They kissed again. Rawnie knew from his urgency what would happen next and she was ready for it. More than ready. What ever pain was to come Tonight, she was prepared for it. He'd be giving her something priceless and she was prepared to return the favor.
He held her heart and soul already. Now she'd give him her body as well.

Lor ignored the slight pain in his arm as he managed to get what remained of his clothing off. As his mouth went down to Rawnie's neck, he pulled the blanket over them. His voice came out as a husky whisper as he held her as closely as he could.
"You really are the best girl I've ever met."
With that, he stopped thinking and talking except for the occasional quiet, happy, noises.

Bliss. It had all turned into perfect, indescribable bliss. As the sounds of their lovemaking faded and they were both satisfied, Rawnie took a moment to reflect on the night. She lay curled up next to him, head on his chest, limbs still intertwined. Her breath came out in short gasps, the blankets pulled up to her chest.
She'd been amazed at how little it had hurt. Sure, it was her first time. Pain was to be expected, but it had only been a short burst of it, right at the beginning, then it was over. The rest of it was... unlike anything she could imagine. It was beautiful.

She looked up at lorane through her eyelashes. Was it good? He seemed to like it, but what did she know? For all she knew, he was just being polite.

Lor stared back at Rawnie, a smile slowly creeping across his face. It hadn't felt awkward, or strange, or anything... He felt more sore than he ever had, but he also felt way happier than he ever had. He leaned over and nuzzled her neck again, leaving his face there. He could hardly breathe, but he managed to whisper.
"I think I'll manage that whenever you want me to."

"When ever I want?"

She raised an eyebrow, smiling. So he did like it. Good. She'd been afraid of hurting him. And afraid of just plain being really bad at it. She was probably really bad still. Nobody was great their first time, after all.
She figured he didn't care. She'd get better with practice. And they would practice. Often.

She shifted slightly, hissing slightly in pain as her shoulder brushed against him. Oh. Yes. There that was. She'd forgotten about it for a moment...

Lor chuckled, and the movement pushed him against Rawnie a little bit.
"Even if you decide that the nearest available surface is a wall."
He winced slightly as his burned arm rubbed against her wounded shoulder. A gentle movement nudged her over a bit so she was lying on top of him, face-to-face, and their wounds were a bit more out of the way of each other.
"This might be a bit more comfy."

Trying to do this against a wall? Rawnie made an attempt to imagine it. No. She just couldn't. She'd have to make him demonstrate later. When, hopefully, they were both a good bit less injured. With a weak moan of pain, she let him guide her on top of him.
Oh. She bit her lip, awkwardly straddling him.

"What do you want out of life, Lor?" she asked quite suddenly, "I probably should have asked sooner, really."

[member="Doctor Azure"]

Lor sighed as he thought about his life. Most of it had been spent either being a criminal or building things. He looked at Rawnie and smiled a little bit sadly.
"I just wanna be happy. Being a doctor is interesting, but it never made me happy. I was happy as a kid, even with all the trouble I always got into. Some of the people I met on Chroma Zed made me happy, because it sometimes meant I'd get to tramp around the stars. I guess that's what I'm meant to do, because I'm happier than I ever was hanging around in a clinic and cleaning out spice addicts."

The blonde nodded, laying her head on his chest.

"Can you guess what I want?" she asked, running her fingers across the smooth blue flesh, "I bet you can."

She thought it was obvious. It was what most people wanted. What her parents had, before her father either died, or ran away like a coward. She wanted that happiness. She wanted adventure, love, and if she was lucky, a family, before becoming part of the Manda.

Lor smiled back as his hand came up to lightly touch Rawnie's cheek.
"I can make a few guesses, but they all involve ending up like this before we go to sleep every night. For a very, very, long time."
He nuzzled her face with his a little bit and kissed her again.
"And then working, fighting, and relaxing together, like we've been doing all this time anyway. I already planned on doing that for as long as we could."

Such affection. She could do this every night, just as he suggested. She nuzzled him back, gently pressing her body into his

"Do you ever want kids?" she asked, realizing how that sounded immediately with a blush, "Err... not now, of course, just, in the future. Some day."

Hopefully before someone catches me off guard and puts a blaster bolt through my skull.

She didn't say that last part though.

[member="Doctor Azure"]

Lor shrugged with one shoulder, trying not to brush Rawnie's wound. He'd never thought about having kids before. It seemed like a nice idea, except that he was afraid he'd have to stop moving. He never wanted to settle down again.
"I guess I do, but at the same time, I enjoy wandering around too much to be a good parent for anybody. Staying in one place would probably depress me after a while."
He silently held onto her for a couple of minutes before sighing a little bit sadly.
"Besides, I've never had parents before. I've got no example."

He had a point. She hated to stay still too. But then, so did her mother, and she did a pretty good job, considering she was basically a single mother now. Taught Rawnie everything important, and the rest she'd learned from the aliit.

It was not uncommon for parents to leave their children behind for a few months to be taken care of by other family. A lot of them chose work as bounty hunters or mercenaries, or, as her father had done, as soldiers. War called people away quite frequently. The idea of travelling a lot and leaving her children behind for a time had simply been something she'd expected to do.

The blonde nuzzled his chest, leaving tiny kisses behind here and there.

"Gar taldin ni jaonyc; gar sa buir, ori'wadaas'la," she murmured, "It's a saying we have. It means, 'Nobody cares who your parents were; only the parent you'll be."

[member="Doctor Azure"]

Lor smiled weakly and gently stroked Rawnie's back, trying to avoid the big problem that was beginning to show itself in his mind. But he couldn't, and he didn't really want to say it. He didn't want to hurt her.
"Rawnie, I'm not a Mandalorian, and I'm not sure I want to be."
His smile dropped off his face, and he sighed.
"I just... don't like feeling obligated towards anybody unless I choose to. The only thing I'll fight for is the people I personally care about. I'm not a warrior, and I'm definitely not a soldier. I'd have a hard time giving any kid that sort of identity crisis, let alone my own."

Problems were already starting to show. Rawnies face fell very quickly. Her heart beat wildly in her chest as she listened to the sound of his heart as well. Not Mandalorian. He was right. But she had just assumed that if things worked out with them, he would just be adopted into the culture, help her raise their little warriors with the mandalorian traditions. She was raised to adhere to the Resol'nare, the six tenants. The sacred law. The very core of what it meant to be a Mandalorian. One of those was to raise their children to be Mandalorians. The idea of ignoring this rule made her face go completely white.

"I... guess I got ahead of myself..."

Her throat felt dry. Why didn't she think to ask him about this before? What would they do? Would they just... not have kids? It might be the smartest thing, considering their vast differences in culture. But then, she herself was the proof of an impossible relationship working. An echani and a mandalorian. If her parents could do it, why couldn't they?
But then there was the physical to think about. She didn't even know if breeding between their species was possible. At this point, it was probably best they didn't try to find out.
