Roman stood there, a furrow creasing his brow as he tried to decipher the Wookiee's frantic vocalizations. The growls and howls were certainly... expressive, and the pointed foot left no doubt as to the source of the distress. Though the Wookiee's communication was a mystery, a sense of understanding seemed to pass between them. The chronometer's familiar hum on his wrist reassured him, a possible technological bridge between the two. He hoped the translation function would be able to bridge the gap, offer a path to communication beyond the guttural sounds.

"Let me see if I can help. What is your name?" Roman's voice was gentle. He kept a watchful eye on the chronometer, the small screen flickering with the Wookiee's translated words, eager to learn the name of the creature before him. His hand moved to the injured foot, a practiced gentleness in his touch as he began to clean the wound. The small pack tied around his waist yielded a variety of medical supplies. Roman's gaze never left the Wookiee, a silent promise of aid in his actions, a silent reassurance offered through healing.

Caelan followed her gaze to the shadows down the hall and narrowed his eyes a bit. He thought he might recognize that figure, at least to an extent. Someone from when he was on Tython. Maybe not, though. They were far enough away that it was quite difficult to make out who they were. Even then, there was so much going on around them it was hard to focus on much other than what was right in front of him or else he'd get lost in all of the hubbub. There were a lot of them working on the temple, after all.

When she took off her glove and put her hand to the wall, he did the same (put his hand to the wall, he wasn't wearing gloves). The sensation of cold washed over him and he shivered, but that same dark presence he'd often felt when he'd still had his more horrid facial wound was also there. He knew that feeling of malevolence anywhere.

"Cold," he said, not pulling his hand away. "Hatred and the desire for harm to those like us."

This temple, he was told, had been attacked in ancient history by dark siders who killed the Jedi there and used the runes to imprison their souls, not allowing them to return to the Force. That effect had ended, but it still left behind a lot of dark power.

His thoughts were interupted by a loud thud and he looked around, wondering where that had come from and if everyone was alright, but then turned his gaze back to her.

"I'm sure they're fine. Plenty of people here to help them if they aren't anyway. Also, I don't think it wise not to teach about the dark and what it can do. Leave's people vulnerable."

She was greeted by the sight of a stammering Zaiya, her skin a glowing display of pulsing silver and lavender streaks that highlighted the redness spreading through her cheeks. "A Yum Bunny?" The indignation in her voice was almost palpable, something that confused the young Kazelrrian as she looked from her friend and the blonde boy towards Aris and the unexpected company at his side.

A faint smile was offered to the latter, but It wasn’t long before her eyes began to pick up the subtle changes in Aris’ expressions. The fleeting tension around his jaws before it finally disappeared showed he was displeased about the comment as much as Zaiya, even as his attention turned to Nulgath. Confusion rippled over in deep amber and vibrant citrine hues, brows furrowed in thought as Mahsa tried to make sense of the situation.

Bunnies are yummy though…? She wasn’t sure how that related to Zaiya of course, but surely being compared to a delicious dish wouldn’t upset anyone… right? "Are… do yum bunnies taste bad?"

The question hung in the air for a moment, her gaze moving from one person to the next, until the quiet grinding of stone brought her gaze back to Aris as he decided to explain what Yum Bunnies actually were. "O-Oooh."Realization dawned on heras Mahsa finally put two and two together, before her brows furrowed again as she turned towards the blond boy when a new thought formed.

"Wait… why did you call Zaiya a Yum Bunny then?" The Lovalla was properly dressed after all, and she wasn’t carrying a plate of yummy wings or anything remotely similar to it on her either. "You shouldn’t go around insulting people like that."

One thing that Connel was not expecting to hear was a Wookiee yelp. What was going on? The pairing off of everyone else seemed to make his decision for him whether to stay here or not. He was not needed cleansing.

I can always come back if it’s nothing. He spoke to himself under his breath as he followed the trail to the source of the painful sound.

2pwZ0kc.jpg
Buster had a toy with him that he was all too happy to play with as they were around, maybe it was better to walk away from that section of the Temple. It wasn’t for him, as he had little to no experience around such things.

Rounding a corner, he saw a couple of young ones, well, not entirely young, but initiates to say the least. A young Wookiee, hopping around next to a dropped boulder and a regal looking Padawan.

Everyone okay?

Kuhbee winced as Roman started to clean his wound. Wookies were tough but it stung!

[My name is Kuhbee] he growled , moments before a knight appeared to ask if they were okay. Kuhbee felt embarrassed. He also did not want to get the other padawan in trouble.

[It’s my fault sir. I dropped that boulder on my toe.]

He looked at the watch like thing and wondered if it was a translator. Or maybe the newcomer understood his growls?

Roman's chronometer buzzed softly, the small screen displaying the translated words: My name is Kuhbee. That was an easy enough name, he had known some Wookiee's to have extremely long ones. Roman continued to try his best to mend the bloody foot, his practiced hands working with a gentle efficiency. The antiseptic would sting slightly, but Roman's tried to reassure the Kuhnee. It was then that a new figure rounded the corner. He recognized the man instantly, a Jedi Knight, Connel, if he recalled correctly. He'd seen him at Master Caltin's Broken Gate class more recently and on Bogan where Connel and his Padawan had aided their group.

Roman stood as he was satisfied his initial aid was complete, a slight bow accompanying the introduction. "Padawan Roman Vossari." he said, extending a hand in greeting. His gaze flickered briefly to Kuhbee, to see if he knew the Knight.

And just like that she'd slipped from his hands. He blinked slowly as he looked after her, as she ran of all things through the rune filled hallway. He jsut reached up, rubbing at his face with a soft, annoyed groan. "Valery what are you doing just- ahhhh." She was really running. Really, really running. So he gave chase, half grumbling as he did. He reached up a hand even, to tug her right back to him with a pull of the Force.

"Get over here already!"

Valery sprinted down the hallway, her laughter echoing through the ancient corridors. "You're getting slow, love!" she called back, her voice filled with playful teasing. She darted around a corner, her boots lightly tapping against the stone floor, the thrill of the chase sparking her competitive streak.

Another taunt was on the tip of her tongue when she felt it — a sudden tug through the Force.

"Oh no—" she managed before she was yanked backward, her laughter mixing with a surprised squeal as she flew straight into Kahlil's arms. He caught her effortlessly, pulling her close against him. Valery grinned, wrapping her arms snugly around his shoulders, her legs curling slightly around his waist to keep herself anchored.

For a moment, their playful energy simmered down, and she stopped fighting. Instead, Valery leaned her chin against his shoulder, her breath softening as her fingers wove gently through the back of his hair. She could feel the steady rhythm of his heart against her chest and embraced the quiet warmth of his presence.

Then, she let her breath slip passed her lips and just held him.

"You're really worried I'll push myself too much, aren't you, love?" she asked, her voice soft and tender. Her amber eyes closed briefly as she tightened her embrace, holding him close.

One was embarrassed, the other seemed to recognize him… okay…

No one is at fault if you hurt yourself. That is why I asked. His smile was more of a “smirk” but it was genuine either way. What tribe are you from if you do not mind my asking?

It was an innocent question, but he did not press the matter as it was more out of curiosity.

Connel Vanagor, Jedi Knight. Gripping the young man’s hand.

2pwZ0kc.jpg
Buster of course was all to happy to be his all too happy and social self, already sniffing and “kissing” Kuhbee’s toes before sitting his little “wigglebutt” down in front of Roman. Connel mouthed the words “He’s egregiously friendly”. As if this was not already known.

So, are we moving these things the hard way or the easy way? Connel then reached out and levitated one of the blocks that seemed to be knocked over and brought it outward.

Ahh. Rock. An acquired taste of his. He'd opted to begin with the more serene sounds upon his first introduction to music — gentle acoustics and quiet lullabies. Rock had very much grown on him, however; the droid finds it awfully cathartic to succumb to that guttural sense of adrenaline that comes with the bombastic side of things. BB-610 bweeps, announcing his approval of her taste with a happy little wobble.

He glances back to the greenery, running rampant in Mother Nature's efforts to reclaim what was once hers. 'Gardening' was as fitting a word as any, he thinks — a shame to weed out such beautiful life, but that was the humanity in him showing its hand. Were this the BB-610 of years and years past, cold and unfeeling and ruled by programming, the temple's flora would have long since been stripped with herbicide without a second thought.

Oh well. Aesthetically pleasing as it were, it's intrusive all the same.

The astromech nods, having forgotten the relative inexperience Colette has with understanding binary. Eager little puppy that he oft is, BB-610 wants to better their relationship, though he knows not to ramble lest he risk the Padawan struggling to keep up. Musing on his dialogue options, a side-eye courtesy of one of many photoreceptors is lofted unto Colette's pile of dust and rubble. A tool-bay disc is opened up, and a pseudo-limb swipes it all within the confines of his chassis before retracting.

BB-610 coos — droidspeak slow and carefully enunciated in as best a manner as he can feasibly muster — as he asks her how life as a Padawan is treating her.

In the meantime, he gets to redirecting the aforementioned debris over by his makeshift trash bags, chassis sliding open as to dump it all nearby.

Kuhbee gingerly placed his foot down and was pleased to see it didn’t hurt a lot. It was tender but it would no doubt be healed soon.

Even better the Jedi Knight was not mad and introduced himself. This made Kuhbee even more happy. The Wookie really was a gentle soul.

[Thank you Roman! It feels much better]

He waved at Connel and was excited to meet him because her recognized the last name.

[Shyyyo's Heart Tribe! Do you know it?]

Then Connel gave them a display of the Force and Kuhbees eyes went wide.

[Can you teach me it?]

Feth's sake, Eloise thought with a scowl as she got an eyeful of another Padawan girl's tri-colored hair. Can't a girl be quirky and unique without being immediately upstaged by someone younger?

She blew a few loose strands of her purple locks out of her face with a huff, then went back to filling in a hole in the drywall.

"Do you need any assistance? I'm pretty good with Telekinesis. I'm Helen, by the way..." she mentioned. "Been fixing up Padawan injuries all morning, so if any of you get hurt, I can help with that as well..."

The woman's words were followed by an odd silence. Quirking an eyebrow, Eloise turned around. Clad in a yellow gown, Helen didn't look that much different from the other Jedi around here, frolicking about the ruined temple in their colorful custom robes. Eloise herself was wearing workman's overalls, not wanting to splatter spackle on her clothes. But if she blended in with the crowd, why was her offer of help being ignored?

"Eloise," she introduced herself, setting down her putty knife to offer a gloved handshake. "I could use some help getting rid of the runes on the other side of this wall." She jerked a thumb over her shoulder, indicating an open doorway from which faint echoes of the Dark Side emanated.

The force called to him once again, there was another beside himself and Jack. He decided to find this other jedi. If anything it showed that there was more than one entrance into the archives. Which made sense, it'd be weird to have one door leading to a room as large as this. Plus with the order dedicating so many resources to uncovering the secrets of the temple, people were going to end up running into each other at convenient and inconvenient times. Just as Fulo walked through the archive, he did his best to find the other jedi who was here. Along the way he realized how expansive the archives truly were. There were rooms upon rooms of knowledge to be uncovered and multiple entryways for easy access.

While he was off to the side of the room, he tried looking for any entryways that could lead into the archives. Given the door he and Jack walked through, it was clear that there was no 'traditional' doorway that led to the archive which made sense. You didn't want your greatest store of information to be accessed by just anyone.

So all he had to do was find another hole in the wall and then he'd be set. The force was strong in this room, it called to those who had such proficiency. So all he had to do was listen and voila. The door slid and he saw how it was dimly lit compared to the hallway he took to get here, maybe accessing the archives meant the corridors could lit up.

He looked ahead and saw Carlo Von Corrino Carlo Von Corrino who was hopefully another jedi like him and Jack. "Hey. If you're looking for hidden knowledge, I think we might've found a tidbit of it." He said as he walked up to the other jedi who was probably looking for more than just a heaping stack of holobooks. Fulo wondered if there was another level to the temple, there had to be some holocrons or something.

Braze perked up, his gaze drawn to the cutie, Lysander von Ascania Lysander von Ascania , allowing himself to be momentarily distracted by the sight. He wanted to say hello but hesitated, watching the small debacle between Lysander and Zaiya Ceti Zaiya Ceti , who seemed to almost run into the boy. Braze couldn't recall seeing him before, but he decided that perhaps now wasn't the best time for introductions after what had just transpired with Zaiya.

He also caught sight of what had happened to Nulgath Zardai Nulgath Zardai and cringed a little. He wasn't sure he knew anything about that... being. In short order, several others had arrived, adding to the flurry of activity— Mahsa Mahsa and Aris Noble Aris Noble were present, along with Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania and Silas Westgard Silas Westgard . There were more as well, and Braze realized that there would be plenty of hands to help with the task. This meant he could take it easy and observe as things progressed.

Still, Braze found himself occasionally glancing over at Nulgath Zardai Nulgath Zardai , unable to help his curiosity. He'd never seen anyone quite like him before.

Roman, gave a brief nod to Kuhbee in acknowledgment of the Wookiee's response. Roman discreetly stepped back, allowing the exchange to continue between Kuhbee and Connel after his introduction. His chronometer seamlessly translated Kuhbee's words, offering a window into the Wookiee's thoughts and excitement.

For a moment, Roman was momentarily distracted by the small, furry creature that had plopped itself down at his feet, sniffing and nuzzling his boots with surprising enthusiasm. A quick glance at Connel, who seemed to find the scene amusing, elicited a reassuring look back, prompting Roman to kneel and gently scratch Buster behind the ears.

Connel's question about the 'easy' or 'hard' way sparked a fleeting internal sigh from Roman. He had, in truth, attempted the 'easy' route, but his Force reserves were depleted. Exhaustion tugged at his edges. With a quiet step back, he relinquished the immediate task, opting instead to observe Connel's lesson with Kuhbee.

He didn't seem to register much thought as she declined his offer. Just passive indifference. But perhaps it was better this way, as he didn’t want her touching him again anyway. Lysander shifted his weight, glancing around at the wide expanse that surrounded them. “I’m not so certain.” His tone was thoughtful as he combed a hand through his blonde hair. “But if you say so.”

For a moment he was stuck between the principles of a Jedi and the all too familiar weight of his upbringing. Lysander's lifted chin spoke for itself, suggesting that he was already choosing the latter. A sigh then escaped his lips, attempting to find balance. With each breath, he tried to ground himself, to find solace. "Forgive my earlier words," he said at last. His voice carried a hint of regret.

With a nonchalant shrug, he attempted to dismiss the weight of it all. Still, it was there. He was confident that he would receive some sort of disciplinary action for his comment regardless. One of them would say something. But the Padawan knew that it was necessary to put this situation behind him and focus on what truly mattered, their very purpose for being here. “If you think it is within your power, I prefer that you just leave me be going forward. I can just focus on my part.” His usual warm smile finally resurfaced, though his cheeks still carried a shade of red.

Then came a little chirp from the companion. No surprise, really. The Padawan's in his own group would have surely done the same. His head then rotated towards the other girl. Her initial words were left unanswered; not every question needed a reply. “Yes, you’re exactly right.” He acknowledged her with a nod. “I truly appreciate the reminder about the Jedi Code. I must have really needed that.”

His gaze flickered to the newcomers, lingering for a long moment on the boy. And at his side, stood something of an abomination. What started with a Jedi and a Padawan with actual purpose turned into a scene that he was simply ready to leave altogether. The atmosphere was heavier now. The number of people that filled the space seemed more than capable of accomplishing this task.

Without another word, he turned on his heel and began to walk away, choosing a path that led him away from the two girls.

Objective Two: Restore???

"Padawan Aris Noble. Not a Knight." Aris was, despite very actively listening to the seeming walking corpse beside him, watching Zaiya and the others. She was, despite being flustered, very much standing up for herself. Which was good, considering the fact Aris had at some point started to crack the stone he'd been leaning on as his fingers dug into it. He let out a breath, turning his gaze properly to Nulgath.

"Zaiya and Mahsa both are worried about you, for better or worse. It's not pity, at least."

He paused as his eyes narrowed again. Just a little. To those who didn't know Aris, his facial expressions were basically none existent asides from those really good at reading faces. He heard the brief muttering. He cold hear everything, after all.

"Yum Bunnies is a restaurant where half naked woman serve hot wings or something. It's an insult to suggest someone works there."

The undead epicanthix raised a single brow at Aris as he explained the phrase 'Yummy Bunnies' and then raised the other brow apon realizing that this padawan was the son of Kahlil and Valery Noble. " I stand corrected then. Padawan Noble." he retorted and glanced at the newly created fissure in the wall. The maturity of a boy with the physical traits of a man. Kahlil what have you done? It was hardly a secret to most in the Jedi Order, but for Nulgath everything was new and he was absorbing all he could about those around him.

Opening his mouth to speak again he paused and considered what the stoic young man had just told him regarding Mahsa Mahsa and Zaiya Ceti Zaiya Ceti . What did they have to worry about exactly? He asked himself and shook his head. " In your view, why do you suppose that is? The worry." he said lowly and turned from Aris and his face of stone.

Although he knew the boy would hear him. In fact he was counting on it.

Since the commotion occurred, the adjacent area had grown in traffic and thus bodies. Already he felt the stares on him( Braze Braze ). Being off alone in his own section of the temple and working suited him, perhaps too well and now he was wondering if the point of his "fieldtrips" were partly to socialize and form...bonds. Interaction with others. Ugh.

The notion twisted his insides slightly.

" Zaiya!" He suddenly exclaimed unaware of his tone and facial expression that almost matched Aris's own. The decayed visage was sure not to help either. " Are you...alright?" His voice rasped. Cocking his head back he watched Lysander von Ascania Lysander von Ascania walk away and then felt the mental yield of slight embarrassment being in the company of the girl that had single handedly stripped him of part of himself. OR what he considered to be part of himself. The Darkside. Then there was the other girl. Mahsa.

And again Aris Nobles comment echo'd in his thoughts.

Nulgath realized that the embarrassment was not residual. It was his own.

Though she couldn't make out what they were saying, the voices in the distance harshened. A few might've sounded familiar, even. Her brow crinkled slightly at the disturbance, but it smoothed at the realization that working through distractions was a lesson on its own.

To his point about the Dark, Cora inclined her head in a nod of agreement.

"Someone once told me that no matter how we dedicate ourselves to the Light, the Dark side is there for us all. I think that being able to feel it - and understand it, a little - can help us to navigate the temptation.”

Her expression dipped back into something a little more serene. The Dark was not overwhelming, and the presence of so many Jedi helped to keep things steady.

“It’s easier to fight a foe you’ve met before.”

Cora ran the pads of her fingers along the little archaic grooves in the stone, feeling the malevolent energies as they twisted and turned. She pressed her palm flat against the wall and let out a slow exhale.

"Focus on the Light, as you do when meditating, and guide it to burn away the corruption. Draw from your strength, from mine and those around us if you need to."

As she spoke, her eyes fell closed. A bright light pulse beneath her hand, rippling slowly outward across the wall.

But for the sake of our child, for me, can you take it easy?" It was an incredibly selfish ask, and he knew it, but he had to ask anyway. He'd carry Valery everywhere, do everything for her, all of it, if she'd let him, though he knew she wouldn't.

Temptation. He knew a thing or two about it. That and the dark itself had been a part of the scar that adorned his face. It had been conquered with the help of an Arkanian healer, but that didn't mean it's effects were totally gone from his mind. He'd spent months dealing with the distress of the wound. It wasn't as if he was just going to foget that at a moments notice.

"My scar was made by a dark side infused blade," he said, reaching a hand up to touch his cheek. "Until recently it used to look like a fresh wound, blistered and dark. It left a dark taint within my body that I dealt with for months. A healer helped me to remove it, but I still remember the feeling of the dark within me."

He listened to what she said, though, understanding that she had some past with the dark herself. He didn't wish to pry, so he let that thought drift away, focusing instead on the task at hand. She had her hand on the wall, and mentioned focusing on the light within himself, like when meditating. That was something he could do. Knight Xeraic had taught him a lot about that in his instruction with her. It was how he was able to now utilize the Force comfortably to manipulate objects around himself.

With his hand on the wall, he took a deep breath and focused on that place of serenity within himself. It was the place he went to when he needed calm, the one he'd been forced to discover through hardship and trial. There, he found peace within himself, and he allowed that peace to radiate from him, into his hand, and outward, just as she was doing.

A glow began to emanate from his hand, and transfer outward, across the surface of the wall. It joined with hers and the light began to spread outward from there, overtaking the dark markings. Together they could do more than alone, but she had taught him an ability he didn't know he had. It would be useful in the future.
