He didn't seem to register much thought as she declined his offer. Just passive indifference. But perhaps it was better this way, as he didn’t want her touching him again anyway. Lysander shifted his weight, glancing around at the wide expanse that surrounded them.
“I’m not so certain.” His tone was thoughtful as he combed a hand through his blonde hair.
“But if you say so.”
For a moment he was stuck between the principles of a Jedi and the all too familiar weight of his upbringing. Lysander's lifted chin spoke for itself, suggesting that he was already choosing the latter. A sigh then escaped his lips, attempting to find balance. With each breath, he tried to ground himself, to find solace.
"Forgive my earlier words," he said at last. His voice carried a hint of regret.
With a nonchalant shrug, he attempted to dismiss the weight of it all. Still, it was there. He was confident that he would receive some sort of disciplinary action for his comment regardless. One of them would say something. But the Padawan knew that it was necessary to put this situation behind him and focus on what truly mattered, their very purpose for being here.
“If you think it is within your power, I prefer that you just leave me be going forward. I can just focus on my part.” His usual warm smile finally resurfaced, though his cheeks still carried a shade of red.
Then came a little chirp from the companion. No surprise, really. The Padawan's in his own group would have surely done the same. His head then rotated towards the other girl. Her initial words were left unanswered; not every question needed a reply.
“Yes, you’re exactly right.” He acknowledged her with a nod.
“I truly appreciate the reminder about the Jedi Code. I must have really needed that.”
His gaze flickered to the newcomers, lingering for a long moment on the boy. And at his side, stood something of an abomination. What started with a Jedi and a Padawan with actual purpose turned into a scene that he was simply ready to leave altogether. The atmosphere was heavier now. The number of people that filled the space seemed more than capable of accomplishing this task.
Without another word, he turned on his heel and began to walk away, choosing a path that led him away from the two girls.
