Retaking Centerpoint

"Something isn't right..."

Osos muttered. His antennae started twitching, sampling radio signals nearby. There was something about them. They were not the same as the ones the station had beed using for the last few minutes. They were, different. Similar to mechanical units in his home hive. He gripped his pistol tightly, glad he had his rifle slung to his back as well.

Jaxton Ravos

Mindwalker of the Outer Rim
"ETA is one minute. If you wanna stay here because you feel you've been wronged and you don't think you can do this while babysitting the man you can stay and refund your initial payment when we get back, but it was all in the contract and pre-mission briefing all of you were given. Now we've got work to do." Jaxton said to the Omega Pyre member. Jaxton wasn't expecting everything to be happy-go-lucky with a bunch of mercenaries he hired in the past two days, but things were going bad. Odd as it sounded, he suspected once they got into combat it would ease the tension a bit.

Unless the Senator did something stupid and got himself killed of course, and then he would just pilot the mercs home and officially contact the Jedi, but he was hoping not to have to do that. The Senator made the mistake of bringing extra cash with him, so if he died they would probably loot him and then he'd just bring them back to their respective planets and contact the Jedi Order. Jaxton didn't think he would have to do that though. He walked over to loading ramp where the Verpine had already readied a rather well-crafted shotgun. The ship hit the bottom of the docking bay of the station, and everyone felt a light thump as the landing gear slowed down the rest of the ship. Jaxton looked back at the crew to see if they were ready, then punched the button to lower the ramp and lobbed an EMP grenade through a slight crack as the ramp lowered. He heard it explode, then exited the now lowered ramp, and then ignited his lightsaber as he heard blasterbolt coming towards him. As Jaxton began deflecting bolts and the smoke cleared he saw his opponents were Droidekas, and the EMP grenade merely took the leading droids shields.

"You all know what to do." Jaxton said inviting the mercenaries to join him as he pressed forward slowly, continuing to deflect fire and provide cover for the crew.

OOC: You read your contract wrong.

Hello there, I'm looking for some gritty mercenaries to assist in a mission of utmost importance. Mandalorians, Republic Soldiers, Sith Warriors, and other Soldiers of Nations need not apply. We are only looking for the nation-less bounty hunters, pirates, and security forces. Objectives include escorting a high-priority asset in enemy territory while taking down an entrenched facility. Main points of the contract may be summarized as follows:

>You will sign a non-disclosure agreement before taking the job and receiving any payment. Nothing that occurs during the job may be spoken of with anyone, under any circumstance. This includes but is not limited to, what you did during the job, who hired you to do the job, and who you worked with during the job.
>You will be paid 100 thousand credits in advance, and 100 thousand credits after completion of the job. All payments will be made in cash, no wire transfers acceptable.
>Anyone with technical expertise such as hacking through doors, computer systems, and disabling droids may be paid an additional 50 thousand credits after completion if such skills are needed and said tech expert does not compromise the tactical security of the team.
>You are being paid individually, not as a team. If someone dies on the mission, the remaining members do not split his/her 'share'. >You will supply your own weapons, armor, and rations. Transportation to and from the mission will be provided.
>This is not a treasure hunt. No materials or information found from the location during the mission may be taken, copied, or damaged beyond what is necessary to take down possible opposition. However, if you kill an opponent you may take anything from him/her that you wish so long as that it did not originate at the mission location.

If you have any questions about any matters not covered in the contract overview, please ask before signing the contract. Three to five mercenaries are needed, with priority being first come first serve. If however after the first five applicants sign and none of them are proficient in hacking, splicing, or the like and a mercenary with such talents wishes to join the expedition the fifth applicant will be booted in favor of the tech expert. Thank you, and have a nice day.

"Stay behind me if you plan on living." Durok said coldly to the Senator as he stood up and walked calmly down the ramp, not worried in the slightest about the blaster bolts that impacted him. Most hit his armor and deflected, while some were strong enough to punch through but it was nothing that Durok had never felt before after five centuries of fighting in wars. He took his scatterblaster from his belt and pressed it against his shoulder, taking aim before squeezing the trigger and sending bursts of powerful plasma down range. He recognized the drodikas, they were not much different than the ones his Syndicate produced with the exception of one that seemed to have some type of upgraded armor. Immediately he wanted to capture some of them so that the Geonosian workers in the droid factories could replicate them, it would probably offer him a killing in the weapons market.

Durok continued to fire, his rounds blowing massive holes into the leading drodikas. Continuing to walk forward at his strolling pace, Durok took a grenade from his belt and tossed it right into the fray of Drodikas. It detonated and took out the shields of a drodika lingering in the back ranks, which Durok quickly dispatched with a single squeeze of his scatter blaster. He turned around to make sure the Senator was still behind him "Don't die." Durok ordered, turning his attention back to the droids ahead.

Osos fired shots at the remaining Drodikas, finishing one off. He followed Durok and the Senator, and when noone was looking, grabbed a piece of the droid's armor and its circuts, putting them in his pack for examination later. He the ran up to the Boss, and gave a slight nod. He reloaded his Shatter gun and walked forward, ignoring the Senator.

((Actually, no I didn't. As it states, a hundred thousand up front and a hundred thousand upon completion of the mission. ))

Orrin would shake his head at what was going on as he readied his second blade. He figured that little sparring session with Alpha would have to wait until later. Quick and short movements with his blades allowed him to block the incoming blaster bolts fired in his direction. The shields from the droids meant that he was going to have a small problem, but then again so were the others with him. As he exited the ship his blades became whirling flashes of light as each time he moved them they were reflecting blaster bolts either at the droid that had fired them to begin with, or at another one. When he had enough room he caused the explosive blaster pistols on the back of his utility belt to float up. Manipulating them via his mind as they'd float a small ways from him and fire off a few shots at the ground around the droids. Attempting to not knock them off balance with the force of the concussion, or with how the ground around them was no longer level for them to be standing on. With that done, he'd zoom off. His enhanced muscle structure kicking in at that moment as he'd blur almost towards a few of the droids. Slashing at them to slash them in half. If their shields were still up, his tactic was to use force push on them as at the moment of impact he'd use them as a sort of enlarged projectile to launch them at other existng droids. Repeating this process as he was going along.

(I think he probably was saying that to me...)

Senator Brunswick was simply dismayed. Back at Corellia's training academy, he had been formerly known as the best shooter in the entire planet. Well now, he felt completely dismayed to see that he had hitten a single Droideka when he burst out of the starship, shooting wildly with his blaster pistol. Still, he felt pretty good that he didn't get turned into a pile of burned flesh by the Droidekas. He quickly reloaded his pistol, and rolled his eyes as Durok told him not to die. "I'm not planning on dying any time soon, so don't worry." he muttered as he followed Jaxton.

Durok laughed at the senators willingness to jump right into combat, even though he was obviously not cut out for it. "Just make sure you stay by me." Durok said past his booming laugh. He needed make sure that Osos got some good shots of the senator with himself if he hoped to blackmail the man later, hell maybe even this boy with the lightsaber had some Jedi connections that he could exploit with threats of exposing the jedi as working with criminals. Without saying much else, Durok patted Osos on the shoulder as he walked by and continued keeping pace with the senator and Jaxton.

She positioned herself behind Orrin as he was coming out. Using his ability to block the onlcoming blasts with his blades as a type of human shield that set things up for her. After getting a bit of leeway she'd let Orrin continue to advance as she'd take to the skies. The repulsor rocket systems she had in the boots and legs of her suit enabled her to do so. What happened after was that she'd remove her own explosive blaster pistols from the back of her belt as she'd then take aim at the droidekas that were left. Where lobbing EMP grenades and other such devices to take out their shields, Amara was aiing at the ground area just in front of the droids as was Orrin. Though she wasn't on the ground, her tactic was the same as Orrin's to a degree. Either have the resulting explosion blow the droid back and off blanace and perhaps hopefully into another droid, or haeve it tilt forward where it's blasters would be aiing at the ground. Which would force the droids to retract into the orb forms where they needed to shut down their shielding systems and had no offenses. This opened up the droids to attacks from Orrin or the others. Easy takedowns. And something of teamwork from the group.

Jaxton Ravos

Mindwalker of the Outer Rim
Amara sent out grenades at the feet of the droids, forcing them to retreat in ball form and halt their fire. Jaxton took the opening and sliced one of the remaining droidekas, then slashed at a second one only to have his lightsaber bounce off and then begin to flicker. Jaxton instantly turned his saber off then pulled a grenade out of his pocket and then planted it on the Droideka, then flipped backwards to avoid the explosion. The Droideka unrolled and began firing again with merely a few dings. Jaxton re-ignited his lightsaber then began deflecting bolts again, while using his battle meditation to enhance the effectiveness of his allies.

EDIT/OOC: So, due to us losing Alpha for a while we're gonna put up a rule. From now on you can't post more than twice without everyone else posting. An exception to this Daxton Bane, as he only really needs to send us obstacles so as long as we don't blaze through them too quick he doesn't need to post as much. This will of course change once we ecnounter him and/or he requests it. So, for example, If I've posted twice and Darren, Alpha, Amara, D'orrin, Durok have all posted I can't post until Osos posts.

OOC HOLY SHIT. Slow down guys I need to catch up. I go to work and come back too see at least 20 more posts after mine. I didnt get a chance to partispate in the story. ]

Alpha was listing to them judge him and his strength. Many didn believe that he could carry a blade that was heavy enough to be battle armor. ALpha just simply said to one of the men from Omega. "Id rather not break you. I was augmented to crush granit with my bare hands. Id rather not. You will just have to watch me fight when we get there." He was given multabe chances to hit the man but last time that he had hit a man with his bare strength he crushed his ribb cage.

Alpha was the first out the door on to the ramp and into the fray. he used his sword as a large shield to block some blaster bolts aimmed towards him. The blade would take the hits with out a problem. He charged hitting a Droideka into a wall smashing it to hundreds of pieces. Since he was now open to the fire he lunged towards the nearest and sliced it right at the base of the ball. He picked up the top and threw it at another 2 droids sending them flying. He looked behind him to see that he was slightly ahead of everyone. He stayed where he was. Reluntly he pulled out his revolver and fired some rounds into a droids fake head. hearing a powering down sound. He fired a few more and would wait to make sure that the rest of the group could catch up.

[OOC: I go to sleep waiting for you guys to land. I knew I shouldn't have slept]

As the group disposed of the droidekas in the hangar area, several Sith commandos deployed with crew served heavy carbines to cover the doors leading to the main compound. As soon as the first hostile unit shows himself, they would start blasting away. A dozen shielded droidekas were held in reserve as well as a team manning the automatic mortar system to provide with tactical support.

In the office, Daxton pour the last of the amber liquid from the bottle and drained the glass, savoring the feeling of alcohol burning down his throat as he made his preparations to find and kill the intruders. The six apprentices with him, were kneeing, heads touching the ground as they waited for their masters command to rise. Each of them bore the features of Daxton, using a simple Sith illusions. So that it would seem that there were seven Daxtons when they attacked. A sneaky trick perhaps but one that greatly amused the Sith Knight.

Osos's keen eyes identified the metal. He relized it was cortosis, famous for being lightsbaer proof. But it wasn't nearly as resistant to blasters. He called out to Durok.

"Boss! They have cortosis armor! Shoot em with blaster bolts when the shield goes down!"

OOC: Agreed with Jaxton.
IC: At the start of the mission, Brunswick had been wondering if he shouldn't have brought too many mercenaries. Besides the immense cost of hiring them all, they didn't seem to be getting on too well. Now, as they swept through the hangar full of droidekas, he was quite glad to have every single one of those mercenary and pirate with him. As he walked as calmly as he could to the doors that would lead to the main compound, he was wondering what other deathly traps were in store for them...

After the droidekas were dealt with he'd walk over to one. The cryptographic sequencer within his helmet would go to work as he'd power up one that had no working weapons systems and would temporarily power it with his gauntlet. Shifting through the spectrum's frequencies and wavelengths to a matching one and then he'd power it up. Working through the programming until he was able to copy the basic programs and protocols of the droideka in how it worked. Collecting the data that he felt was needed and storing the info within his helmet's log and then he'd make his way towards the compound door. He was sure that everyone was ready to just go in with guns blazing, but he was more of the tactical type. He looked around at those that were assembled and looked towards the Senator. A quick glance was given towards the Jedi as he figured that maybe Jaxton was on the same page as he was. He knew that Amara was. He had performed this little trick before. Once for Teg when she asked him to go get something from the Hutts without them knowing. Once when he met the young warrior Morna and again when he had taken the time to spy on Z3ro within a meeting and again to display towards Z3ro why an attack on him may not have been the best idea. Orrin would activate the stealth option on his armor. The light bending around him as his right optical would shift through options to allow him to see properly as he was enveloping himself in an aura of his own energy. The technique was refered to as the Art of the Small. Normally used to alter and manipulate the molecules of other things to give them different properties, the way that Orrin used it was to manipulate his own molecular structure. Spacing it out as far as he could without it causing an interruption to his own structural integrity before he'd quite literally stick his head through the door. Phasing through it with his stealth option up and going he was like a ghost. Assessing what was before him as he'd be taking into account the kind of opposition they'd be facing in just a moment. After the information was gathered he'd quickly snatch his head out of the door and deactivate the stealth option. His molecular structure coming back into play as he seemed to shift almost. The tactic was draining. So he'd cease with it for now.

"They're waiting for us on the other side. I'll throw out some smoke orbs and obscure vision and cause a bit of confusion. From there somebody open the doors and keep out of the line of sight. Alpha, Jax, you guys are with me. Jax you can reflect and defend yourself. They'll be firing like crazy. We cnan use that in our favor. Alpha, you're buig and heavy. And that sword of yours could absorb a good degree of damage. The three of us can run point while the rest of you come up from behind when it's a bit safer.. On my mark."

And from there Orrin would be reaching inside of the utility belt strapped around his waist. Removing from it a small number of black orbs that he'd then toss out after "Going Ghost" again. Though this time he'd only perform the tactic with his right arm as he reached through the door. Allowing the popping sound of his orbs to relay that they had been properly deployed and letting the smoke obscure the vision of the soldiers.

"Mark. Let's go."

He'd state as he'd remove his blades from his back. Shifting through his optic options to allow him to see through the smoke via a Thermal vision setting. That was a trick he wouldnt be using for a bit as it was actually kind of draining to manipulate one's own physical form in that regard. So now he waited for someone to open the doors and let havoc loose.

Alpha nodded his head at D' Orrin. He was a cyborg like him but from a different group of people called Omega Pyre. They were mercenarys for hire. Most of them protected Chancellors or high ranking officals. He would however do anything to earn an extra buck when he felt like it. He walked up with D' Orrin to the nearest door ready to launch himself in to the next room. He would have to deflect the blaster shots with the flat of his blade. It was huge and was almost a shield to normal humans. He liked it that way. Alpha Walked over to the door and said "Ill bust it in for ya" Alpha then did a 300 style kick. the door flew off crushing anything that was in its path as the door went to the wall on the other side of the room. He then stood back to let the man throw his grenades.

"This guy is gonna get us killed!"
She'd call out as she took a position directly behind Orrin. As she positioned herself behind him she'd be checking her mini missile launcher. After ensuring that it was ready to use she'd lash out from behind him and fire a mini proton missile out from her left gauntlet and then would duck behind Orrin again. Using his body as something of a human shield for when the impact happened and the missile went off. Debris can often come back as shrapnel if one wasn't careful.

"Don't you know how to follow orders?! Man! You must work solo a lot. Learn how to work with a team!"

She'd yell out towards Alpha as she was arming herself with her explosive blaster pistols. Still crouching behind Orrin as she waited for him to move before she'd do her own thing with her blasters.

As soon as the door caved outward, the crews began firing on full auto into the passageway, lighting up the doorway with multi colored fingers of laser death. Even if anyone could soak that much firepower, the momentum of the shots would still be enough to knock them off their feet and push them back several feet. The ground near the entrance began to blossom in showers of dirt and shrapnel as the mortar rounds began to bracket and land one after the other.

"Excuse me senator" Durok said calmly as he walked to the door where the storm of plasma fire was wrecking its havoc. Durok closed his eyes and felt for the vibrations and heart beats of any combatants beyond the door. His whole body was in tune with his surroundings and he could feel where every living thing in that room was. He slunh his shotgun back into its place on his belt and flicked his wrists, in doing so he unleashed a bone chilling scrap as his cortosis viroblades extended outward (think predator). Next, he slowly let himself unwind in the armor, his "arms" extending and causingthe shoulder plates of his armor to detach from the torso plate. The same thing happened around his neck and legs, making him from a iron giant to a disgusting tentical like creautre in armor.

"Hehehaha! Die!" With a ferocious battle cry Durok stretched into the room at lightning speed, the blaster bolts impacting his body and causing damage the Gen Dai could barely notice. His tendrils lashed out in fury, the blades tearing through the commandos armor as they got whipped around the room. The blaster fire hitting the Gen Dai would have killed any other creautre with ease, but to him it was childs play.

Osos followed his Boss's lead, attacking, but he didn't run into the fray. He hung back, picking off vuneralble targets with his rifle. A few shots glanced off of his duraplast armor and his exoskeleton, though the lack of nerves there brought little pain.

These mercenaries were simply fantastic. Every single one of 'em. Senator Brunswick could nothing but watch in admiration as the five mercenaries and Jaxton made progress into the Centerpoint Station. Although some may have been independent, they seemed to work like a team. Brunswick carefully shot from his blaster, making sure that he didn't accidentally shoot one of his own team. "Remember, we've got information that there are Sith Lords, we don't know how many exactly, that are in this station! Make sure that we catch them!" he ordered.
