I like to think he died and became one with the Force. I believe that's how all Force-users should go. Whether they be good or evil, they become one and their life feeds future generations of Force-users. Perhaps that is why some Jedi turn to the dark-side and vice-versa. Unlikely that is why, but would be nice.
