Roche - a question

[member="Julius Sedaire"]

I'm kinda confused on why you tagged me... o_O

I was just reemphasizing that the staff said members would not be oocly flagged nor persecuted for what their characters do.

I totally get wanting to have characters help out the Mandalorians in the invasion, especially if they don't know the Mandos have Sith in their ranks. The Republic is in a state of IC confusion. It looks like they have a dictator at their head, even though Lasedri was just removed. Mandos are getting mixed signals, GA would probably feel the same way. Residual elements of the evil Spaarti troopers are still present. Keira Ticon is hanging around. All of those are elements that the Republic is struggling with and the GA is too.

So, if any GA members do end up helping the Mandos I'm just hoping that we'll see some nice character development once Draco Vereen (the Sith Lord currently in line for Mand'alor) declares who he is. Like, post-battle or mid-battle once this is realized, GA characters would hopefully be sick to their stomaches, severely distressed and disgusted with themselves for having helped out the Mandalorians, who are apparently backed by Sith.

That's what I'm hoping to see, anyway.

[member="Kaileann Vera"] - i misread dear. There wasn't any context, so i assumed... You know what they say about that... My bad!

EDIT: my feelings are though, Coreys unilateral ban on the mandos is OOC and not IC given he has no proof ICly of anything current, and has not circulates said knowledge icly. If that policy you quoted is valid, his comments need to be retracted on telling everyone to attack GA members helping mandos.

I personally as a writer am neutral on who helps who.

Icly, we all have our preferences on how to deal with things, where we believe things are with the Republic, with the mandos, with the Sith.. with the galaxy.

But this war with the mandos and the pubs deals on something that is neutral and outside the Republic as a whole. It isn't The Mandos vs the Republic-- it is about companies and the Prime Minister's clone army attacking said companies.... and how it all just snowballed into an escalation because of that sudden tyrant rise.

This is an ic reaction to an ic situation.

I'd say check the full story icly -- rather than looking at the ooc tags.

The Sith in question the mandos are "harboring" has been offline/inactive for nearly a year if it's Muad. ICly he hasn't been seen or heard from since Netherworld events. So that us a really crappy reason. OOCly no one knows where he went or what happened, he just dropped. I know he was debating an LOA. I assumed he had taken it. Not very classy to use a guy not around to defend himself.

EDIT NOTE: These are per several mando writers who knew Muad very well, not my assumptions.

Alls I'm gonna say....

Is that [member="Aela Talith"] has plenty of empty prison cells and carbonite rooms for those who use the darkside in front of her icly.
XD
And that's how it should be. What you can know, prove, and do ICly is the trump. Always.

Is using the Dark Side to win a drinking contest jailing material?

Just my two bits because Muad is a friend of mine and I'm active with my Mando alt.

We haven't heard ooc'ly from Muad in months, maybe a year. IC'ly, he disappeared I think before the Netherworld event, so IC'ly itd be almost a decade since his last IC sighting, but I could be wrong there. Regardless, its a little much to hold an entire faction of independent clans accountable for one person who may or may not IC'ly be sith from montsh/a year ago.

Also, if the pretense is to single out the Mandos, that's cool, but at the same time many corporations are siding with them as well, so you'd also be singling out them as well and possibly cutting ties with sections of the corporate world.

TL;DR - You should probably look at all the sides ooc before stating one thing or another ooc. IC is one thing, but ooc does carry consequences into IC at times, especially when the IC is driven by ooc.

I remember that thread where Coren met Muad Dib. It was after the time that the Levantines merged with the Silver Sanctum, so several months after the Netherworld event finished, if memory serves. As I remember it, Coren walked out of a meeting because Muad Dib, a Mando, made no secret that he was Sith.

How would Coren know that Muad Dib was no longer with the Mandos? I mean YOU guys know OOC that the writer is inactive or on LOA, but Coren Starchaser doesn't.

In case you guys don't regularly read the character's threads, Coren is a "shoot first, ask questions later" type of dude. Knowing the character, there is little reason he would reach out to the Mandos to find out if they were still harboring a Sith, and even if he did, he probably wouldn't trust their answer.

So how is that meta?
