Rule Submission

So I have already been doing this for a few days, but I have noticed a rule or two that could be added. There are people who try to cheat the system by doing things like posting the same submission over and over with only slight changes. These are OP, game changers.

I thought we could discuss maybe adding rules to curve this abuse of the system.

Can you give a specific rule for this?

Well I was thinking of something like this:

If an item is unique or semi unique you can't create something that does the samething more than twice.

So, basically, you may not create duplicate submissions for the purpose of exploiting production value.

We create rules by proposing the rule itself and then discussing it, so in order to have a new rule added (per your OP) would be to propose the actual wording of the rule.

I think that's a great suggestion. There are certain members who insist on posting somewhat benign submissions with a view to circumventing restrictions of that sort, and this would close the loophole that allows them to do so. That is particularly the case with fairly redundant submissions, such as the ones posted: there invariably isn't much of a need for these, beyond giving the OP a significant and rather absurd tactical advantage over other players, and using the Factory to justify their continued behaviour in this regard. It's wrong, and I'm all for putting a stop to it.

We'll have to keep tabs on subs anyway don't we? Why are we not calling out this writer for doing this?
Because this just came up as an actual issue today when he submitted two weapons (in the last 5 days) which can cut through any material and is based on his original submission that was approved for second chance that does the same thing.

I don't intrude on the submissions of the factory judges until they either are turned over for me due to submitter issues or if they come up for secondary review. The factory judges are attempting to work with him to tone down his current submissions, but as we don't have an actual rule that prevents someone from doing this and I'm not the factory administrator (and this is not my rule proposal) I cannot arbitrarily waltz into his submissions and deny them on concept for being too similar to his own submission.

If someone is using multiple submissions or hiding things or generally misleading the judges, point them to this rule and deny the submission. Then ban them if they do it again for 30 days.

The thing that has been pointed out is that this particular situation the poster doesn't use these for PvP which is good. Though I like to find patterns and have been finding patterns with other posters who do use OP things for combat. They have recently begun discussions about alligning themselves with the poster, Jamie. So if my assumptions about these connections and patterns are correct then Jamie could take these items and give them to people that will use it for combat.

Now, this part is speculation.

The point is people want to be all powerful and to be as sarge put it, "special snowflakes." So if we just stop it now and bring things down to a more level that is more on par with everyone then regardless if I am right or wrong, it prevents that sort of thing from happening.

As to why it hasn't happened before, sometimes in life we can see a problem and the solution is simple, but we over think it and miss it. I did not come up with this alone, I just listened to the team's concerns and frustrations and this was a logical result.

So I hope ultimately this won't be a bad thing, but will help the board :)
