Run Boy Run

This was just great, Candez Stoon thought to himself. He had made some things for a gang on Tatooine. And it turned on him. The things he made had broken apart, and this is where he found himself. Being hunted by them, chased through the open streets of Mos Eisley. His clothes were dirtied from all the roughhousing they did to him, all sandy and dusty after being pushed around on the ground.

"Scuze me, pardon me!" He ran through the crowds, trying to get to the port where hopefully someone would get him out. There were two flaws in this plan; First was that he didn't have as much credits as he usually would, and second the gang behind him would be rather off putting for anyone to pick him up. But still, there had to be someone to save him, right? He could only hope as he ran.

Causstik was browsing amongst one of Mos Eisley's many market places. What was he looking for? Trouble, and it seemed to bump right into him. A Duros ran right into his backside. Causstik spun around angrily and knocked the young fella over with his tail as he did so. He picked the man up by his shirt with one huge claw and gave him a nasty glare. He licked his incisors for effect.

"Query: Would you like me to liquidate this undesirable master?" HK-50 asked cocking his head ever so slightly to the side.

"Jetar Madle! Watch where your going!" He hissed at the duros. Then looked to HK-50 "Quiet Tin man, or I will sell you for scrap!" Why the hutts had saddled him with this derelict droid he would never know. Suddenly he saw what the Duros was running from. A small mob appeared over the horizon and began firing at them. People scattered and the stalls were quickly abandoned. Causstik let out a low guttural growl. They would regret the day they fired on Causstik Rahn.

He threw the Duros behind a merchant stall and followed after him. "HK! Kill them!" HK-50 analyzed the situation, twenty eight well armed meatbags, sufficient cover, three speeders, and a vantage point atop the nearby apartment complex. "Exclamatory: With pleasure master!"
HK-50 stomped towards the apartment building, whilst firing short suppressive burst. Causstik stood fired a few incendiary rounds from his pistol and was met with a satisfying explosion. He looked to the young Duros and gave him a rather mad grin "The scorekeeper has blessed you. For today you hunt with Causstik Rahn!" [member="Candez Stoon"]

Meanwhile, on a hill in the distance,

A cloaked figure was watching it all unfold through a scope in a sniper rifle, a worn SR-1 shattergun, prone and patient as he scanned over the scene,

"Causstik-kharking-Rahn."

The droid muttered to himself as his scan confirmed the identity of the Trandoschan who found himself once again in the center of chaos, and it seems that this time around the lizard got himself company of one of the droid's cousins. Not to mention the gang-mob that the Doschan was firing at now and a young Duros, seemingly caught in the middle of it all by chance, with Causstik grinning down at him,

"And now he has a hostage."

The droid muttered, turning himself over to lay on his back, cradling his rifle as he looked up at the sky.

It could never be an easy hunt, could it? The droid was tracking Causstik for a while now, the latest target for a bounty after murder of a senator during a party the droid infiltrated, little did the machine knew about the bounty at the time, and even when he saw the Trandoschan setting fire to some building later on during a slave auction he decided to pass up on a hunt and let someone else deal with him. But it seemed that it was finally time for HK to try and hunt Causstik down, bring him to justice, even if it might be only temporary and Rahn would end up causing more chaos in the end. It was like Causstik was Bossk to HK's Boba Fett. Or more like HK's IG-88. He wondered then, were any of IG-88 units still around? Didn't one of them ended up changing into an artificial intelligence and taking control of a space station?

I should do that sometime.

The droid calculated, what happened to the copy of his own mind he kept around as artificial intelligence connected to the holonet anyway? The machine shrugged, turning over to look over the situation again through the scope of his rifle, not interfering just yet as he tried to calculate whether it was all worth the trouble.

Candez fell over after running into the Trandoshan, his feet being swept up beneath him from it's tail. And when he saw who he ran into, he wished he had been looking where he was going. A formidable sight to the young Duros, looking upon [member="Causstik Rahn"]. He almost cried out in surprise as the Trandoshan lifted him up by his shirt. That's when he noticed the droid beside the Trandoshan, who must have worked under the walking lizard.

"I-I mean no trouble, honest! I'm just running from-" Both looked down the street to see the mob. The duros could have sworn all color drained from his face. "Them." What could have been worse? Killed by this Trandoshan who was in a bad mood, or the mob that was in a bad mood?

Just as quickly as he had been picked up, he was tossed aside. His eyes remained on the walking lizard. He wasn't sure if he was being saved, or had caused more trouble than he thought. Whichever it was, Candez stayed there in the cover of the stall, thinking about crawling away quickly. And once his mind was made up, he tried doing exactly that.

Causstik tried wiping some blood off his face and only succeeded in smearing it more. HK-50 had activated its self destruct sequence and completely obliterated the mob not to mention a small block of housing. He stood up from the mass of corpses and walked back to the Duros. "Oh no you don't!" He fired a few warning shots. "My droid got blown up saving your sheb's! You owe me.." He growled menacingly pointing a finger accusingly. He gave the young alien a careful eye. "Hmm... What kinda work do you do kid?" Causstik doubted he ever fired a blaster, but he could be taught. Maybe he could repair the ship. If the Duros was worth his salt the Hutts might want to meet him. The cartel was always looking for new talent. [member="Candez Stoon"], [member="HK-36"]

Meanwhile,

The droid went back to watching the scene unfold through the scope of his shattergun rifle, taking aim at the HK-50 droid accompanying Causstik,

"I am sorry, cousin, but I would not be a very good droid if I would let an obsolete model tarnish our series' good name."

The machine whispered in a taunt as the other droid's head appeared in the center of the scope, HK's finger moved to hover over the trigger, ready, when suddenly-

The other droid blew up, apparently in the middle of combat, HK pulled his head back, scanning over the scene with his own two photoreceptors,

"Those 50's models really do not stand the test of time."

The machine quipped, amused at how easy it was for the other droid to be taken down, at least it meant one less thing for HK to worry about, unlike most organics, the droids were able to see through most forms of cloaking, often perceiving things in spectrum other than just light, like heat radiation. Plus the mob was gone, along with portions of nearby buildings, which meant less collateral the droid had to worry about.

Going back to his scope he trained the rifle on Causstik this time, the Trandoschan's head appearing in the middle of the crosshair,

"Come on, kid, get out of there."

The droid whispered to himself, unsure if he was willing to take risks with Candez so close to the Trandoschan. Droid's finger moved to hover over the trigger once more, ready to just take shots at Rahn's head, calculating whether it was worth it. He laid there motionless for a second before his aim dropped, the scope trained at the Trandoschan's legs instead.

As much as the droid wanted to just help the kid and save him from the pretty probably death at Causstik's hands, he needed the Trandoschan alive, not just because of the bounty, he could always kill him to get money for it, but keeping Causstik alive meant high probability of him causing more chaos and/or escaping justice again after the bounty was claimed, which in turn meant another bounty being placed on him. So, basically, the droid wanted to keep Causstik alive so he could keep hunting him and cashing in on bounties placed on the Trandoschan.

But he didn't took the shot just yet, instead waiting to see if either somebody else would interfere or the young Duros would be able to get away.

[comment]One more round[/comment]

Candez cried out in surprise when some shots were fired. He ducked his head under his arms. He'd been shot at numerous times, but never this close, and never by someone so menacing. Then the Trandoshan had to throw that out there. If there was one thing he hated just a little less than being shot at, it was owing someone. But it was his only way of getting out of here. He turned himself over to look at the Trandoshan.

"I..uh, I make things. I upgraded this!" He showed his modified blaster at his side. "Shoots much faster than usual, and has an infrared scope. See?" He held one hand up while with the other slowly pulled it out, holding the weapon on it's side. Had he been feeling more daring, he would have taken his stun pistol out instead. But he also wasn't stupid. And still, he did not see the droid.

"I already see in what you call infrared. I do not care about your toy gun," Causstik growled. He moved closer to the Duros

"My fleet is docked in the port. My ships need repairs and we are lacking in good mechanics. You work for me now!" Causstiks band of marauders currently held the Mos Eisley space port. While they made no threats it was understood for the time being the Trandoshan gang held the bay. They were gathering materials to repair the fleet after there attack on Cambria. With this mans help the repairs would go much faster and if he was good they would take him as part of the crew. Willingly or as a slave. It mattered not to the Trandoshans.

The droid could not wait any longer, making sure his Chameleon Cloak was activated, rendering him invisible, and portion of the material covered the scope and the barrel of his SR-1, he looked over the Trandoschan's legs. It seemed the beast was wearing heavy armor, Mandalorian in design, probably difficult even for a shot from Shattergun to penetrate, although the rifle droid was using was known to punch through armor of medium vehicles. Still, he did not wanted to take any risks, not when Candez was so close to Trando. Although Rausstik had his pack on the planet, the droid still didn't saw them, they were still holed up in the Spaceport after all, and while the droid brought his own friends for back-up, the difference between the two was that Rausstik would openly hold a spaceport to repair his fleet, HK preferred to keep his forces hidden to spring a trip, if it was necessary, in the end he preferred to just handle things on his own.

Either way, the droid looked over Rahn's armor through his scope. HK fought alongside Mandalorians before, beginning his career as an assassin droid on their side during the Mandalorian Crusades, he knew the layout of beskar'gam suits well, their strengths, and weaknesses, one of such suits was the first armor the droid wore over his metal body. And one of the weaknesses he was keenly aware of was that armor was weaker, or completely absent, around the knee, sure there was usually a plate protecting the kneecap, but the space around it where the knee cap connects to the rest of the leg was thinner and more flexible to provide more movement, otherwise bending knee would be a pain in the butt. So that was where the machine took aim, calculating trajectory to get through that weak portion just at the right angle and slice with the bullet through the joints of the knee, hopefully shattering the kneecap and bone in the process, at least that was what the gun was designed for, it was right in the name, Shattergun.

Once the trajectory was found, HK pulled the trigger, in an instant the rifle silently fired a hyper-velocity projectile, small caliber, hardly big enough for anyone to see during its flight, the bullets of a shattergun didn't need to be big to cause massive damage at the speed they traveled, the only give-away was the buzzing whistling sound they left in their wake as they cut through the air, although the projectile would either meet its mark or pass by before the sound was heard, it traveled faster than sound after all. Even if the droid miscalculated and the projectile would hit the armored plate instead, it would do so with enough force to horribly bruise, and break, the flesh and bone beneath the armor, at least that was the case for most beings, although even abominations like Causstik had their limits, and the droid was intending on finding them. The only downside of the shattergun was its low fire rate, the droid's vision shook and rocked from the recoil and he was forced to scan over the scene again, seeing the results of the shot and take aim once more.

He only hoped the Trandoschan wasn't Force Sensitive and had gift of premonition, which honestly was usually the case in those scenarios, even then, would he had fast enough reaction time to dodge a small caliber bullet traveling fast enough to go clean through most vehicles? HK also hoped that Candez would use this distraction to get away instead of sticking around for the gun fight or straight up brawl that would surely follow.

Move. The command was short and simple. The voices often warned him of situations like this. Causstik always assumed it was the Scorekeeper guiding him. He dove to the right and a loud crack was heard afterwards. Dust coughed up in the place he once was. Causstik scanned the area where the shot came from with his new cybernetic eye, but it found nothing. Causstiks attention was adverted from the Duros for many minutes.

[member="HK-36"]

Candez's expression turned grim. He knew nothing on repairing ships. Only equipment and weapons. And when this walking lizard found that out, the Duros would be in for a world of hurt. But that world would not come today, as fate had it. A shot rang out, landing right where the Trandoshan had been. This marked his chance. Candez quickly holstered his blaster and pulling his goggles quickly over his eyes, he tapped his heels once together, engaging his jet boots for a quick escape, going across the dirt and out of there down the alley. His red eyes stuck to the Trandoshan, just waiting for it to advance.

His eyes stayed on the Trandoshan as he got himself up, not bothering to dust himself off. A set of words repeated in his head, over and over about the situation: 'Get out, Get out, Get out, Get out'. He ran as fast as he could, pulling his stun blaster in case something gave chase. Candez wanted to get as far from the danger as possible, and the hangar was not the place if the Trandoshan had ships there.

The droid watched as Trandoschan literally dodged a bullet, there was no way a being without the contact with the Force would be able to do that,

"Fething Force."

The machine muttered as he took aim again, this time at Causstik's stomach, to make dodging this one harder,

"Every fething time."

He muttered some more as he pulled the trigger, another bullet was sent faster than the speed of sound and the droid's vision shook from the recoil. He did however noticed that Candez was making a run for it, all he had to do was just keep Causstik occupied.

HK dropped his cloaking field, standing up as the now black cloak made him stand out among the yellowed sun,

[Doshan] "Sssa!" (Hey!)

He bellowed out towards Causstik in his native tongue across the desert, the hot air carrying his voice the distance,

[Doshan] "Hsss shaaasss asssss sassssma" (Your mother says hello!)

The machine added as he slung the rifle back over his shoulder, deciding to switch to his bowcaster instead,

[Doshan] "Shssss assssha a shsss ahssssa shasssassss!" (I spoke to her last night when I gave her the best mating of her life!)

HK finished in a taunt.

S O V E R E I G N
"You really should next time look into getting a smaller set of armor when you visit us."

I shook my large head as the man, Jorin, was looking at a few blasters that a man was selling. Jorin wasn't all so armored, nor was he the best at hand to hand combat. Seeing that, I had gotten through to him in our own little sign language about him getting a gun. Any kind that he would like to be used for himself. Should I not be there for him, He needed to protect himself. As he was there, getting the ideas down for what he wanted, we were leaving the ally as people ran past us.

We both thought better of it than to just rush in. So we stayed back. Watching a fight take place between a Trandoshan and a droid with another person of a different species. Jorin already had his hand on his thigh where his new blaster was being held. I prepared myself if necessary. It was when fire started erupting out from a long distance away, I could hear the whistle of slugthrower rounds zooming towards us. While they were hitting harmlessly from us, I was sure they could hit someone else. Seeing that it wasn't from a close proximity, They were likely sniper shots.

Heading out into the long stretch of town, I brought my left arm forward and braced for impact. A blue particle shield formed from my left arm. Two rounds slammed into the shield and bounced off. I couldn't see where this individual was. That was until he materialized under the yellow sun. Black cloak and rushing towards us speaking in some tongue.

Letting loose a rather loud, but low guttural growling sound. It had an almost electronic hum to it as it echoed off of the buildings around me.

Jorin was losing his mind and was trying to hide underneath the table to not be shot as I stood there. Facing whoever it was who was firing at people. It was clear I was not happy about this personage firing upon people who were going about their day. Jorin on the other hand wanted me to back up and was clearly wanting to just get the hell out of here and run like the rest of the people were.

"Come on A. Just let it go!"

I shook my head as I walked forward. I was fine with people fighting others on a war, or in a battle. But firing and possibly hitting innocents was not allowed whatsoever.

Letting the shield deactivate, I got down low. Almost to all fours before I rose up with an electronic roar directed at the person in black. For all intents and purposes, It was proclaiming if he shot one more time, He wasn't going to have a nice day.
