"Just be safe, you three."

Kahlil chuckled, but he was as worried as any other parent would be. It was just tempered by the trust he had for Katherine. And the children, ironically enough. As chaotic as Vera was, she was still responsible. And Aris was just.. Always responsible.

Aris nodded before glancing to Vera, then to Katherine. And nodded again.

"I would love to be the first to fly."

With Katherine promising their safety, Valery felt a lot better, but it didn't stop her from taking her husband's hand when he told them to be safe too. They both knew what the kids were like, and especially how chaotic Vera could be. But both Vera and Aris had proven how reliable they were too, so this was going to be okay.

"We haven't eaten yet, but we'll be okay! You can go fast and can you do loops?" Vera asked with an excited grin. Valery just smiled sheepishly at her husband, knowing it was exactly what she would have asked as a kid as well.

Aris, in comparison, seemed a lot calmer about it.

"You can go first!" Vera then said, even though she would have loved to go first too. She just cared about sharing these things with her little brother.

"...they really are too much like us, huh?" Valery asked while they got ready to fly.

Katherine shook her head, letting out a small laugh. It certainly seemed Vera had a specific thing in mind for her flight. She very much took after her mother’s keenness for adrenaline.

“Yeah, I can do loops. Although, it will require us finding enough room for them.” Her very first attempt at them had almost gone awfully. She had misjudged just how far low she’d end up at the bottom of the loop, and had almost flown straight into a building.

The Padawan had no desire to repeat that, even if it would be trees this time.

“Alright then!” Katherine began, clapping her hands together and grinning at the two young Nobles. “Let’s head outside, we’ll need to find the best spot.” She took the lead, but inevitably ended up following the kids; mostly Vera, who seemed to already have the perfect location in mind.

Katherine doubted the house was tall enough to use its roof. It needed to be several stories higher to provide enough of a drop to be effective. And as far as she knew, the house wasn’t built atop a cliff or waterfall. So finding an open patch of land was ideal, hopefully with every little thing around that could be knocked over.

“Okay, yeah this definitely looks like a good spot.” The Padawan walked around a little, sizing it up and stopping at the very centre. “Just need to do a little bit of prep work.” Katherine crouched down, closing her eyes and focusing on the Force. As she felt it flow through her body, she began to trace a rune just above the dirt.

"Maybe, but it's not a bad thing I think."

Kahlil chuckled just a bit as he watched them walk away before smiling to Valery. "Sides, you like flying too, right?"

Aris followed along, nodding almost excitedly. He was pretty calm usually, but there was a bit of excitement to his step as he went. Though, he could go first? He blinked, glancing between Vera and Katherine. Then smiled, just a bit. Nodded again. He could go first, yeah. Why not? He looked up to the sky, also just checking to make sure they were in the clear. ".. What are you drawing?"

"I don't think it's a bad thing either. I just... It's different when it's the kids, you know?" She grinned and nodded a little when he mentioned how much she liked flying. It was very much a Noble thing to enjoy this type of thrill, but the lack of control over the kid's safety made her just a tad bit nervous. Not enough to stop it, but she stayed close by Kahlil's side and watched them like a hawk.

Vera was completely unphased in comparison and guided everybody to the open field outside. There was a forest nearby, but as long as they flew in the opposite direction, they'd be all in the clear.

"She's drawing a rune like daddy! What does it do?!"

The Padawan smiled at them both, correctly guessing what she was drawing. “Indeed, your dad has been utilising them while training myself and Shan.”

Katherine stood up and stepped back a little, giving them room to have a closer look at the rune if they wanted. It bore no indistinctive symbol, and looked particularly non-descriptive. But a closer look would make it apparent the rune radiated with Katherine’s presence in the Force.

“Due to my…nature, I often have difficulty learning and training some abilities. But I’ve found using the same kind of runes as your dad, I can use them as a type of ‘assistant’. Unlike something like ‘Barrier’ this rune is more general, something I’ve funnelled my connection to the Force into.”

As Katherine continued to speak, both her body posture and mannerisms began to unconsciously imitate Kahlil’s, much in the same ways he did when he was teaching her.

“Intent is an important tenet of the Force, and that’s exactly what I’ve done here. In order to launch into the air from the ground, I need to use my hands too. But because I’ll be holding you they’ll be unusable. So the rune will give me an extra bit of boost to get us airborne.”

"That.. Makes sense."

Mostly. Aris wasn't capable of using the Force outside himself, not in the way everyone else seemed to. But it still made some sense to him. Like a droid program, kind of. He stepped over the rune closer to Katherine, looking it over for a brief moment before looking right up at her with the same, simple curious expression he'd had this whole time. "So.. We fly?"

"Woah! That's awesome!" Vera called out while her brother remained calmer, and showed his own curiosity. To Vera, this was just way too exciting, and her dad's runes playing into it made it even better for the young girl. She hopped up and down, watched Aris closely, and began clapping her hands for him.

"Have fun, Aris! You can do it!" She called out, even though it was mostly Katherine doing all the heavy work. But it could be scary to go fly way up, so she wanted to encourage him.

"Aren't they the most adorable?" Valery asked her husband after seeing it all happen. They had gotten such a close sibling bond in such a short amount of time, and it really made her happy.

"Say hi to the birdies for me!" Vera added as a final little thing.

“Now we fly,” Katherine replied, smiling down at Aris. And as if to exemplify the point, she chose that moment to unfurl her wings to their fullest. The Padawan took a couple sounds to stretch them, before pulling a band out of her pocket and quickly tying her hair up.

“Ready?” She asked, before leaning down and picking Aris up.

Katherine aligned herself above the rune she had made, then began the countdown.

“3…2…1!”

With each passing number the Padawan crouched closer to the ground. And then at the very last moment, both Katherine and Aris shot up into the sky like a rocket. The winged Padawan soared up until reaching the peak where she could feel a dip, and then shifted into a glide.

"Well, I'm not really doing anything, so.. I suppose I can do it, technically." Aris shrugged briefly, glancing up to the sky, then back to Katherine. Smiled. Though as she started to count down that smile got more and more nervous. Then, before he knew it. he was suddenly airborne. He didn't react at first, more just wide eyed staring before finally taking a chance to look around as they dipped into a glide.

".. This is the view you get to see? I.. Find myself jealous." He muttered. Which might just get cut out in the wind, but he still spoke regardless. It truly was breathtaking.

"Pretty!" Vera exclaimed loudly when Katherine's wings unfurled. It made the young Noble want wings of her own, so she could be just as cool and fly around too! She looked back at her parents, almost as if she was asking them for it. But Vera knew it wasn't really possible, so she would have to just enjoy this moment.

And maybe convince Katherine to go for another flight in the future.

"Look how high!!" Vera then screeched after they had blasted off and transitioned into a glide. Valery just reached for her husband's hand, squeezed, and let out a soft breath. Why did her chaotic side have to bleed into the kids so much?

Then, Vera reminded herself that Aris had corrected her while she was trying to encourage him, and grinned wide. She sucked in a deep breath, held it for a second and-

"DO A LOOP!"

Fortunately, they weren’t flying fast enough that Katherine couldn’t hear Aris over the wind. “You’re not the first to tell me something similar.” She said, chuckling lightly. “Being able to fly…it's a freeing feeling.”

She’d do it more on Coruscant if she could, but that was really only during circuits around the Jedi Temple. Any further out, and she risked getting caught up on the seemingly constant traffic.

Hearing Vera’s request, Katherine peered down to see the young girl staring up at them. They were high enough that she couldn’t see Vera’s face, but she could certainly imagine her expression. And without further ado, Katherine pitched her flight down then spun into a single loop before levelling back out again.

The Padawan suspected Vera was going to request many loops during her turn.

“Aris, do you have any spots around here that you’ve wanted to see from above?”

"No, we are not doing a lo-"

His voice caught as he was suddenly weightless in the loop. He blinked rapidly, but he smiled shortly after. Grinned even wider as he stared out over the sky. He didn't expect that to be fun. It now made sense why Vera seemed so excited over it.

"No, not really. I've already seen it."

Their home. The mountain close by. The budding city in the distance.

It was all so beautiful up here.

Vera giggled loudly when Katherine actually made the loop, and best part, Aris seemed to love it! As much fun as it was to mess with him, she did want him to have a good time up there and right now, he was the coolest brother ever!

"Mommy?! Daddy?! Did you see that?!" Vera bounced up and down while Valery offered her daughter a nervous smile.

"Yes sweetie, we saw," Valery said and Kahlil would be able to feel it, too. Valery had nearly squeezed his hand off, after all. She then let out a soft sigh and continued to watch her son up in the air, but also her daughter down on the ground.

She could only imagine the things Vera was going to request up there.

She couldn’t see Aris’ face, but Katherine could feel that moment of tension as she began the loop. Only for it to disperse moments later, bringing a smile to the Padawan’s face. It was the first time she had actually carried someone as she flew, and there had been some concern how it would go.

But it seemed like her first passenger enjoyed his flight.

Katherine dipped into a more casual glide, swooping around above the house. The wind calming brushing past them as they soared. Eventually though, she dipped down and fell into a descent. And with a flap of her wings she landed onto the dirt with a soft thud.

Thank the Force she had practised her landing strategy before today.

She crouched down, allowing Aris to set his feet on the ground. “How are you feeling? I’ve never flown while holding someone, so I don’t know if you're feeling any dizziness or the like.”

Katherine gave the young boy a smile, ruffling his hair a little. She then turned to face Vera, who was positively radiating excitement.

“Ready for your turn, Vera?”

"I am fine." Aris took a half step after they landed. One that made it clear he was incredibly dizzy. He cleared his throat before giving a smile to Katherine. "I will be fine. .. Thank you. It was.. Thrilling. Flying like that is incredible."

Then he stepped away to make room for Vera.

"I am fine."

"He's not fine." Vera said quickly and smugly, while she looked at her brother. "Maybe he needed more loops!" she giggled and watched him stumble a little before turning to Katherine with a satisfied smirk. Unlike her mother, she could win her little battles sometimes, and her expression said it all.

She loved it.

"Yeah! My turn!" Vera then exclaimed before rushing over to be picked up. "Can we do multiple loops? Maybe a barrel roll? I saw the pilots in my show do it and it was awesome!" Vera loved watching her show about X-wing pilots with mom, so now she was able to fly like this, she'd have to try some tricks too.

Valery, meanwhile, turned to Aris and waved him over with a smile, "Seemed like you had a lot of fun, sweetie. But your sister isn't pushing you too much, I hope?"

Katherine chuckled as she listened to Vera list what she wanted to do while up in the air. There was no denying she was looking at what a young Valery would’ve been around the same age. Both of the kids took after their parents almost like mirrors, making the Padawan wonder how the triplets would be.

Little bundles of chaos, no doubt.

“Ahh, so you’re an honorary pilot then?” Katherine said, taking a moment to retrace the same rune as before, putting a little bit more into compared to the last. She picked Vera up, ensuring the young girl was comfortable, before getting into position above the rune.

“In that case, consider me your trusty starship.”

Katherine initiated the countdown, crouching down much like she had before. Waiting until the last moment before the duo went rocketing up into the sky, stopping a ways higher than she had with Aris.

Aris paused as he made his way over to his parents, looking to them both. With quite the smile on his face, no less. Kahlil just chuckled as he squeezed Valery's shoulder. He was fine, he had no doubt about that.

"Vera has yet to push me to do something I don't want to, mom. Don't worry."

Valery blinked and looked at her husband, who was squeezing her shoulder in a comforting way. He was always the one to keep her calm and make sure she wasn't so overly worried, but now her 7-year-old son was telling her not to worry as well? He really did take after his father a lot. Not too strange, considering he's a clone, but being a clone doesn't mean developing an identical personality.

"Well alright, sweetie," Valery said with a smile. "She can get a little lost in her excitement, so I just wanted to make sure." She glanced at Kahlil again, expecting a teasing grin, but she was ready to jab a finger into his side if he did.

...

"WOAH!" Vera exclaimed loudly after they blasted up into the air. "Look how high!" She grinned and gently kicked her little legs back and forth from sheer joy. "Mommy! Daddy! Aris!" She yelled while she waved, hoping they'd hear and see her, even though there was no way to miss the two flying overhead.

"Can we fly down really fast at Mom?" Vera then asked with a giggle of mischief. She knew it'd scare the hell out of her mother, and she wanted to see that reaction so bad. It'd be fun for her dad and Aris too, who would undoubtedly tease Valery about it some more.

Or dad would get mad too, but she was willing to take that risk.
