"Not fishing, but to be a fish! Stop thinking with your stomach," Vera said with a giggle before her dad chimed in to tell them that food was ready. Now it was her turn to think with her stomach — pancakes had been her favorite meal since she was little and that wasn't going to change! So as Aris walked away from the table to get the others, she quickly got seated and waited for food to arrive.

She'd be the first to get her hands on dad's delicious pancakes.

"It's all yours," Valery confirmed. "It has served me well, but now it's time that it helps someone else." She knew plenty of Padawans who would have loved to get the crystal, but Katherine was one who needed a bit of extra strength. A gesture of kindess towards her would hopefully help her settle in more and more.

The crystal itself would also be used appropriately, she knew.

"You're welcome, and it's okay to cry. You've been through a lot, but I want this crystal to be a little sign of hope and strength for the future." She smiled warmly and then looked over her shoulder when she heard Aris calling out to them.

"Coming, sweetie!"

She looked back at Katherine and grinned, "Ready for some pancakes? Kahlil makes the best."

"Hurry it up, Aris! Or I'm eating all of them!"

Katherine looked down at the crystal as Valery spoke, threads of ideas already spinning in the Padawan’s mind. Atop the ideas she already had in mind for her armour and spear. She wasn’t going to get much sleep tonight, not until she had the basic outlines drawn up.

"...but I want this crystal to be a little sign of hope and strength for the future."

“It will be, that I promise,” Katherine looked up to Valery giving her a firm and resolute nod. Her attention shifted when she heard Aris calling out for them from the stairs.

And as if on cue, her stomach made an audible growl.

“I think my stomach is definitely ready for some pancakes.” Katherine said, letting out a small laugh. “Honestly, anything would be better than the pancakes they've served at the Temple.”

"They're serving lackluster pancakes at the temple?"

Kahlil raised a brow right up at that revelation. He'd have to have words with the head chef there. They couldn't be serving any low grade pancakes, not in the Temple he was council of. He took his own seat after setting out the pancakes for them all, smiling faintly.

"So, what'd you two end up talking about?"
