Please excuse this break of character for the moment.

I just read another user requesting to be listed as a force user. I'm still new, but I want to have access to this skill tree. My intention is to be numbered among the Jedi, but I see there are a few options. I haven't actually been admitted to any faction yet, so I should probably wait, but I intend to roleplay as a light-side only force user. I'm neutral in terms of EU or traditional Jedi. Could I get something on my title that shows I'm a force user, a wannabe Jedi, without committing to one order or the other?

"Force Initiate" or something?

I haven't found a trainer yet. I requested one in the LFG forum.

In the meantime, is there a no-nonsense guide to the different flavors of light side or neutral force users? Not trying to Mary Sue. Just looking for the right fit.

You can choose ANY Faction to join; take a look and choose one that suits.

Firstly you can go here... http://starwarsrp.net/topic/393-request-your-rank-titles-sub-account-name-change/page-641#entry1435686... to request 2 Tags. I suggest Jedi Padawan for one, and then a Faction one when you know which of the Major Ones you'd like, as only Major Factions have Tags.

Like the mix-master Connor just said. Tags are requested. As, only a board Admin can slot them onto your account. Also, the rules for Rank and Promotion are here.

As for 'skill sets'? Nah. We're easy. You can have whatever magical powers you so desire. So long as they are appropriate for your rank, title, history, and general awesomeness as a person. If you start using the magical power: Force Obliterate-Anything, as a Padawan, against the Senate Hall of Coruscant? Well... We will probably all hate you forever. Lulz. So... Don't do that and you'll be just fine.
