Scorched Red Feathers (Attack on Red Ravens)

[member="Lok Jorunn"]

Colap made his way through the crowd pushing fleeing civilians to the ground and sprinting through the tangle. The subject of his pursuit was tricky and no doubt had the upper hand by making a mob. But he needed transport and fast or else he would never catch this guy. Colap could feel his blood pressure begin to rise and anger took over.

A civilian was running in front of him and he was running too slow, so he reached an armored hand out and snatched the man by the neck flinging him to the side.

"Get out the karking way!"

There was a swoop nearby and he made for it. Just as he got there one of the fleeing patrons who owned it hopped on, trying to escape the madness. Colap would not have that, he would not lose his target.

"Times up buddy sorry this is mine now." He said bluntly blue fog emanating from the faceplate making him a creature of terror. Colap shoved the man hard sending him off the swoop to the ground and mounted it in one swift motion. He kicked the stand up and powered her up, preforming a 180 turn and gunning the throttle.

"Raven 2 to security elements, I got a lead on the suspect, headed down the main drag south of the Casino. Got some swoops outside grab em and ctach up."

Getting into the Raven's highly protected Cryptnet was easier than he thought, but mostly because Cryax had detected a small memory leak. He'd have to tell Lysle about that as soon as he could. It wasn't a hard thing to fix, but now was not the time. He rifled around in the gadget-filled pockets of his trenchcoat, grabbed a comm and started listening to Ravens chatter.

Comm glued to his ear, he started moving towards the exit, weaving through the crowd. If he could find the location of the assailant, then maybe he could slice into a nearby security system and send some droids after the guy. From the excited voices over the Cryptnet, it sounded like they were closing in.

Cyrus walked through the crowd, he was going with the flow. Some were running, others walked to avoid being trampled. He looked back towards the casino and saw a few guards moving through the crowd. He ducked, letting the crowd move past and the guards get closer.

As one neared, Cyrus slipped in behind him. From under his cloak, a blade silently entered the ribs of the guard. He quickly slid under his arm, relieved him of his weapons and ammo and radio. Cyrus pushed into the alley, dropping the dead guard and rejoining the crowd. He turned down an alley a few blocks up, slipping the stolen comm into his ear, he began scaling the building to the ledge above. He then began backtracking in the dark of the building at this level. He was above the lights and he folded the yellow side of the cloak back. He was in the dark, looking above the others when he saw a group of heavily armed mercs running through the crowd, coming out of a back alley behind the casino. Also, from this height, he saw a well dressed man running with a pair of giant walking orcas.

Cyrus ducked into an open window and hid for the moment. He wasn't done yet. The room was empty, it looked like an office. He went further in the building, and found a storage closet, along with his tried and true weapon method. He concocted the mixture again, a little different, without the control device. He found a exhaust vent leading outside, and poured the chemicals into the vent and they began to flood the streets below. Cyrus peaked from inside the window, careful not to get close to the window. He left the room as cries began to fill the street and cause even more panic as civilians began to choke, running from one death to the same one in a different place.

As Cyrus walked down the hallway, he rounded a corner and found a window to the alley beyond...

He felt his presence; among the thousands that occupied the roads, streets and intersections. He was somewhere near, but it was hard to say where. He allowed his instincts to guide him, an innate feeling formed in the pit of his stomach and he turned to his left. He saw him ducking into an open window. "I've spotted him, I'm on the corner of Vail Crescent, office for Wrestle Mechanics," he sported into his earpiece. Lysle began moving towards the building, his herglic guards racing forward ahead of him to use their massive shoulders to literally throw the door of its hinges and allow him unimpeded access into the office complex.

A fume began releasing into the streets, but the incalculably large open area simply dispersed the smog high into the atmosphere. Few received coughs and chokes, and even Lysle himself released a hacking cough, but for the most part, everyone was unharmed. Sure chemical gas was good in enclosed environments, but outdoors was outdoors, and exhaust vents generally exited at the top of a building - not the bottom. What minuscule gas wafted to the streets was the fault of passing speeders overhead. Lysle led the two herglic through the building, who were forcing to crawl behind him due to their massive size and their inability to stand within the human-designed-proportioned hallways.

He could feel him moving from the building, but knew not where. "Security, mobilise the swoops. I want the entire district combed. Shut down the casino until further notice. I want half our security force in this search party, and the others to keep guard on our assets, and the entrance." Then he saw Cyrus, only moments away from exiting through a window into an alley. Lysle reached with his left hand, clicking his headpiece to send out a distress signal - detailing his prime coordinates. His right hand simultaneously moved to pull out the ELG-3A blaster pistol from his waistline. "Don't move," Lysle warned him, "The jig is up." He levelled the blaster, waiting, cautious, all the while the two behemoth orcas crawled behind him to catch up.

After the majority of the customers had left,Lenix called R5 over to him and he darted back for the hangar again, closing the bonnet of his airspeeder and starting the old girl up~ R5 rocket jetting into the passenger seat before he backed out of the hangar and onto the streets, getting a higher altitude to survey the chaos.

He spotted Cyrus running out into the alleyway and Lylse pursuing him closely! He swung the speeder around and came down about 10 feet above them~ the weapons not online yet he activates the spotlight to keep him in sight "Raven one, I've got your back but no weapons on this bird yet, any plans?"

Arianna awakening from a week long Bantha Milk binge to an explosion. She throes on Her battle gear and goes out to the balcony to see a yellow fog rising. She then hears through the earpiece "I've spotted him, I'm on the corner of Vail Crescent, office for Wrestle Mechanics" She jumps off her balcony gliding with her boots to the roof of the next building."TEE-PEE Fire up the engines" she yells into her personal comm. "On it Lysle" she says and lands on the opposite roof.

She Hears a Hum of an Air-speeder Going just below her as she landed on the roof. She saw Lenix and R5 in a speeder with a spotlight on some masked man. She then trained her Razor Net gun on him. "What's the word Lysle?" She said into the ear piece.

What Cyrus did know was that the smoke on the street was not dissipating, being that Chlorine gas was much heavier than air, it sat on the ground causing many to drop, some even fell from this level in the city upon a city. He could hear screams and a cacophony of choking littered the soundwaves.

Cyrus turned, he looked at the well dressed man with the gun, and the two giant orcas on their knees behind him. He heard the low idle of a speeder out the window and a female voice in his ear. From inside the mask, gear rotated in the brain of Cyrus as idea began to formulate. A pipe ran along the ceiling of the office, a main gas line.

Quick as he could he jumped backwards, folding up his body to fit through the window, and as he left the room, he pulled his acquired pistol and loosed a pair of shots, hitting the gas line. It wouldn't explode outright, more or less just fill the room with a quick flash of fire. Nothing entirely lethal, unless you were extremely susceptible to fire, like the aquatic mammalians behind the well dressed man was. He dropped into the alley bellow and darted off into the crowd of death. He drew the excess of his cloak over his head to conceal him as he ran with the survivors.

There was a difference between mercenaries and thugs. More like a huge difference. These men from Cresh team that trailed him through these crowded and seemingly panicked streets were individuals and beings who had served in national and planetary armies before. They knew well the taste of defeat and they had sipped from the cup of victory more than just once. Veterans. Rough and ready soldiers of fortune who held no loyalty to any government o organization except for the one that they were currently employed to. Thugs were just wannabes.

"Saint, which way?" One of them asked, glaring at a civilian hard enough for her to give an uneasy frown and pull her friends away. "We gonna loop around or what?"

"I've spotted him, I'm on the corner of Vail Crescent, office for Wrestle Mechanics."

Lok keyed his earpiece at the report from his boss. "Roger that. Cresh is moving in."

The squad looked around and easily located Vail Crescent street, eyeing the pair of Herglic guards that trailed a suited man with the loyalty of a dog. The trio of bodies moved into the building with impunity so Lok thought it a better idea to secure the perimeter. It didn't take long for the ten men to surround the building and have enough elbow room, especially with them toting assault rifles and knives.

The explosion and the body dropping out of it was too easy to track, especially with the stench of death that lingered upon his form within the Force. Whoever he was, he would die this day.

Cryax listened to the chatter as he sliced on the fly. A masked assailant was on the move and The Ravens had him in their sights. He was a still few blocks back, and couldn't really see any of the action, but that was A-OK with him. The Chiss would be no good in a firefight.

He leaned back into the entryway of an apartment and squatted down on the steps in order to better concentrate on the slice, every now and then looking around to protect his flanks. A few more levels of encryption and Cryax Bane was in. The network of Spyder Security, a nearby business on Antecedent. Spyder was most likely a front for some highly illegal operation but either way, they had what he needed. He surveyed their systems carefully and saw that they sold a wide array of security droids, like the floating Zeeo ones. This was promising. He didn't like the idea of jacking them to do his bidding but they had shields, stun guns, and Dual Canons. He got over it quickly.

There were a couple of active ones in their showrooms and with his remote instructions they hummed to life, zipping around the room. He set the coordinates of the Red Ravens target. They wouldn't know who exactly they were looking for, but they'd go where he told them. If he got a good enough description over the CryptNet, he could give them more to go on.

The droids sliced into Spyder's own security network and released themselves from the showroom, the front door sliding upwards with a hiss. The Zeos zipped through the night sky right over the head of the frightened casino-goers, red and green lights blinking out a beacon in front of them, searching.

"Ah, it's nothing. Colap was just worried about something. Thought someone was coming here for no good." Lysle had explained, casual and proper as always. Continuing: "Get back to your friends. If security hassles you for being too loud, head up to the private bars." Jennifer wasn't really in need for getting back to her "friends".. Friends and friends, she probably only had one. And she wasn't here right now. Nah, those by the table where.. She couldn't even remember their names. Being in company with Lysle and the rest of the Ravens was something that was nice, it gave a sense of community Jennifer had never experienced before.. But your moral was twisted sometimes. Buying friends unknowingly. Yea she should start to be more careful, for her own sake.

While she was thinking all of this Lysle had decided to move on, he was needed somewhere. Jennifer gave him a more controlled smile and nod as he walked off, but just as she lost sight of him the entire building shook. Almost throwing the half drunken Jennifer onto her back. And only moments after screams and shouts started to echo from all around her, creating a flood of people heading for the main entrance.

Trying to push herself away from the general mass of people she found herself on a tiny elevated platform, giving her some overview of the situation. The secure networks channels started to go crazy too, making her almost wanting to take off her earpiece, yet, she knew, even in her half drunken state that it was important to listen.

She was far slower at getting out than everyone else when she finally decided too, perhaps the last even, being unable to push herself past people without getting crushed. She could be calm, sure. Checking the backpocket on her trousers for her blaster when she got outside she simply decided to stay put. Her eyes scanning the area.

Colap had apparently been right about this one. Something had happened.

Colap had trailed Cyrus all the way through the building but the man was too fast. As soon as he entered he jumped from the swoop, crashing to the ground in a roll and got up, badly bruised but moved quickly pounding up the steps of the building and through hallways and doors. The man was elusive, he'd give him that.

Room after room and he barely had sight of him and then he slipped away again.

"Kark!" Colap swore. Even when Lysle had caught up he had slipped away. Colap was a mercenary and a rogue, and he knew that in this line of work there was no shortcuts and no alternatives. when it was hunt you hunted when it was a chase you chased. So that’s what he did. As the gas line exploded and the man hoped out the window Colap roared and charged through the broken pipe un-phased due to his armor.

He dove out the window head first and turned in midair, firing a grappling hook oto the sill.

"Catch baby catch!"

If it failed he was dead. He kept falling and falling until suddenly the line went taut just before he hit the ground and a groan of relief escaped him.

"Thank the verse for that!"

A quick turn of his wrist detached the line and he dropped ten feet into the crowd landing in a rolling crouch. The target was just barely getting away from him, maybe thirty feet or so. Colap drew a cryoban grenade and hurled it at the man as he observed him pulling on his cloak. The grenade exploded in an icy mist, which saturated the ground with ice flash freezing it. Anyone in it's radius would be frozen to the ground and unable to move....

As Cyrus ran with the crowd, he heard soldiers calling out their positions as they attempted to chase him down. He turned in time to see a grenade being tossed into the crowd of civilians. He spun and fired on the grenade, exploding it in the air, covering the air in a freezing liquid. He ducked under the civvies screaming, some getting the liquid in their mouths. Their throats freezing and asphyxiating. Frost covered his cloak, Cyrus could feel the cold.

Cyrus ran to the edge of this level, slid off the edge, and swung himself down to the next level below. He flew down, and just in time, a speeder zipped by. Cyrus landed on the hood, hopped into the seat, kicked the driver out of the speeder and took off. He looked up the local transportation terminals, he found a merchant hangar and made for it.

"Kark losing him again!"

Colap redoubled his speed sprinting all out in a close tail on the man. He watched him jump off the edge of the level and his eyes went wide. He was out of grapling hooks and surprises. He barely managed to slow his speed, digging both heels into the ground before he hit the edge.

The masked man jacked a speeder and sped off so Colap followed, jumping onto a moving speeder below and landing in a crouch on the hood. The pilot looked surprised and his own eyes went wide with terror at the silver armored mercs sudden appearance. He was jacking a lot of vehicle today.

And he jacked this one too.

"Move over!" He roared over the wind as the speeder juked to and fro trying to dislodge him. Colap held on for dear life, and drew his Westar pointing it in the mans face.

"Move over or I'll blast your face buddy, last chance."

The pilot scooched over and Colap scrambled up and over the wind shield of the open top speeder hoping into the controls.

"Now shut up."

He slammed the throttle with his gloved hand catching up to Cyrus and coming up right beside him. The free hand pointed the Westar-35 at him and he began to squeeze off multiple shots, firing wildly at the speeder and it's pilot.

As soon as the gas line exploded and the man descended into the yellow mist Arianna tied cloth around her eyes and popped on her helmet it was the only way shed be able to find him in all that mess. She focused momentarily "Got him" she thought to herself as she jumped down. and she gave chase as she was getting to the point she saw Colap Jumping out a window and catching himself at the last second. And chucking a cryoban into the crowd. *Pew* *Crackle* she heard as the assailant shot the grenade.

She then saw Colap take off in a burst of speed and she followed suit. She took off after the man and dove off the Edge landing with her magna boots only seconds after Colap hit the throttle. She was on the back of the car as Colap pulled next to the masked man and started firing at him she pulled out an emp grenade and tossed it into the masked mans car and it went off.

Cambry Owens

A Pseudo-Mandolorian. Sort of.
Cambry is, of course, on planet. As a frequent Contractor for the Ravens, he had found himself making port here more and more often.
At the moment, he was in his ship and, funnily enough, idling just off the nearby merchant port while listening in on the chase through the Raven comms with some wariness.
"Verne, pull up...heartrates, movement patterns, weapons." He flipped a few switches as his droid beeped and whirred, and then gave an electronic sigh-like noise. "I suppose you're going to try to catch this man?"
"Figured I'd try mowing him down." He responded with a small shrug. Moments later, his attention was caught by a speeder arriving at the merchant port, and he furrowed a brow. "...Oh, mark that too." The droid gave it's best incredulous tone. "I suppose you'd prefer I just mark everything in sight?"
Cambry didn't respond; he had taken the ships controls, and was now watching the inhabitants of the speeder arriving. His blaster cannons power notice blinked as they charged.
Meanwhile, his ship appeared no different. Just one of many freighters. But as soon as the chance came, it was unlikely Cyrus would find his way out of this.

Cyrus' speeder buzzed in and around the traffic, trying to lose his tail. Though, they caught up to him. the driver started firing, right along side. Then a woman tossed a grenade and the systems started to shut down. The opposite was close enough for her to toss the grenade, they were too caught in the blast. Both speeders began to lose altitude.

Cyrus ran up and off the back of the speeder as it fell from the sky. He jumped on a swoop bike that passed under. The masked vigilante pushed the throttle to the max aimed for the merchant spaceport.

As he neared the spaceport, Cyrus speed for a small cargo ship. He ditched the bike, letting it hover where he left it. He went to the cargo ship, typed in some random coordinates and set the engines to warm up, locking in the autopilot as he did. He slipped out the bay doors as they closed and the ship sped off into space. But now, Cyrus needed a faster ship to leave the system in. He ran inside the terminal to look up private docks for the rich folk. He found a few good prospects and made his way to the private hangars.

Before the cloaked assailant could jump out of view on a speeder bike, Lenix~ having followed the group after him, had managed to give R5 the time to get a decent holo recording of the incident and, therefore, the attacker, giving a small wealth of ID for the Ravens to use, and getting payback for damaging his recent respray job~

Lenix lost sight of the mysterious figure as he abandoned his speeder, as he was focused on the rest of the Ravens, who's transports were knocked out, though he knew he'd be heading for the port~ the figure would want to leave the planet ASAP. He brought his speeder down and landed next to them "Everyone in, he's headed towards the spaceport"

"How odd. A ship with no pilot." Came the voice of Verne, suitably dry. Clearly, he had scanned the leaving vessel. Cambry glanced at it as it seemed to head for the stars, before turning his attention again to the other hangers to watch them carefully. "An assassin in a cargo ship. Seems legit." He tapped one of his control sticks idly, waiting with heightened nerves.
"Where else would he store his indubitably enormous ego? Perhaps on Raxus Prime? With the rest of the useless junk." Verne's dome swiveled lightly as he chirped his wry observations, continuing to make calculations and scan. Cambry grinned a bit, before he noticed a small power fluctuation, and reached over to adjust a power level to put more into the engines. He tapped the control stick again, watching out his main viewport and letting his droid handle everything else. The Lassie hummed eagerly, it's blasters primed, it's engines flaring.

Colap was too busy trying to save his backside to care much about the masked man any-more. The chase had almost cost him his life twice. As the speeder plunged to the ground he knew he had done everything in his power but it was to no avail.

"Raven 2, I lost him, good luck guys!"

He snatched up [member="Arianna Maneria"] and wrapped his frame around her bracing in the seat on top of her for the coming impact.

BOOM!

The speeder smashed into the side of a building careening down onto a balcony and grinding to halt. Colap took a blow to the head so hard he blacked out.....

Hopefully the girl had made it....

Arianna wakes up in a haze "Tee-Pee bring the ship." she says into her com. She tries to wake Colap up to no avail. Still foggy she says "Does anyone know where that bastard went?" She says angrily. She carries Colap onto the ship and puts him in the other pilots seat and fires up the engines.

She goes to the hold and grabs her finest bottle of Corellian Ale opens it and holds it under his nose as she downs a bottle of bantha milk. "Wake up" She says as she pokes him on his forehead.
