Sekalien Supernova (ORC T2 Dominion of Ancora & Torrential )

5/25

She looked at her bodyguard as he spoke, his plan had merit. Then again she was desperate not to die on this hunk of junk, she looked at the fleet commander and said Do It, do it now. Her commander sent message to pioneers, and the ships mech droids. They started unloading them through cargo bays, helped by artillery men. As they got them in postion, they started being bolted down and welds made. The work was hectic and chaotic to say the least, but her men and machines where up to the job. Though as they where some pirate fighters made pass at them. The shots caused her ship to convulse, as they made impact. Fire crews began running around the ship putting out damage, and ships engineers struggled to keep everything online. As they came back to second pass at the hulk, ships weapons fired. The artillery also fired, as they did some became dislodged as the projectile left the cannon. The small squadron of pirate ships, where destroyed or crippled by it though, they where safe for now.

As ship was being pound by the attack run, Elaine made her way nearer to the escape pods. She was getting very nervous, and then sent repeat message out to the fleet.
This Elaine Thul repeat I request, ship support, my fleet is not capable of defending itself. She hoped someone would escort fleet to the surface soon.

She decide to go with his plan, the troops had began to move to make it so. As they did a group fighters made an attack run, the ship bounced around as did. He made sure their was clear run for Elaine Thul to the escape pod. The ship damage screen lit up, as fire reports came in. He kept a watchful eye on the reports, as if it came down to it, he bundle her in to the escape pod. He was nervous, but new hulking armour would make sure he survived even in the vacuum of space for awhile. His only thing he needed to care about, was she was still breathing tomorrow. As the ship, convulsed under strain of the attack he powered up his magnetic boots. He knew they a second strafing run, as the first went without reply. He was about to grab her a shove her into the escape pod, when the artillery began to fire reports came in, that they all where neutralized. He sighed in relief as it did, though he was know keeping a watchful eye on scanners. As he did not want to risk much more of this.

What would Del do?

That is a question with a whole strata of possibilities, but if he scrunched his expression just a little bit? He could almost see her handling the situation.

Boys, boys - her hand resting easily on their upper-arms - two strapping men like yourself surely has better ways to resolve a little situation such as this one? Implicate that they were above it, the squeeze of her hand to underline their muscle and manliness. Then perhaps her trademark smile melt that would make their attention and focus fade further. And within only a few minutes they'd be back to playing cards, laughing and sometimes shooting a glance back to Del.

Hoping she was still paying as much attention to them as just a moment ago.

But that wasn't exactly a strategy that Walk could employ here. If anything... it would probably cause them to unite again, but this time to beat the ever-living crap out of him.

"Lads," Walker warned, before looking to the others for help. Nope. They were still eagerly watching for an escalation. "We are all here for the money, we need the money, so this? This ain't helping no one right now."

"Three-eyes insulted my 'onor, longlock. Blood demands blood and that is the end of it."

Already Walk could feel the situation slip away from him. Last chance, last opportunity to turn this around.

"Aye, maybe, but... you kinda deserved it, didn't you?" That was enough for the twi'lek to blink and immediately turn to Walk. Now this was the moment to modulate and not let this get out of hand. "Look, lad, you just took Stee's entire cash supply! Sure, you ain't a cheat and Stee knows that too."

"Nu-uh." Walk shot him a dirty look, shushing him.

"But c'mon, laddy, this was supposed to be a friendly game and you just took him for all he got! How's he gonna make repairs for his ship, feed his little kid or anything like that, eh? Ain't right, is it?" The Twi'lek seemed to be confused by this turn of events and for a moment he scratched his head.

"You... wot. Whatcha suggesting here, mate?"

Now they were getting somewhere.

"One of the main enemy ships is retreating" Ornfra told over the channels.

"This Elaine Thul repeat I request, ship support, my fleet is not capable of defending itself"

"Roger, moving in to assist" Janick told Elaine.

With the first volley of massive bombs having impacted in such a way that it forced Drake to retreat from the system, Drake also forced whatever fighters he did have to retreat without having even engaged one starfighter. Also, with the Qiangs and whatnot engaging the Verdict and the Libita, and tied up against those other pilots in-system, with the Whiphid raiders also retreating from the system, Janick's purpose in this operation was all too clear: provide assistance to House Thul, who also pledged its support for the operation of relocating Croa and defending the fledgling colony of Croa, as well as the orbital ring, which was being boarded. But two pirate groups vacated the system, with the remaining Qektoth pirates turning their attention to [member="Elaine Thul"]. At this stage, she has her craft split into two groups and drop those massive bombs on each of the two Qektoth frigates that broke off formation to go engage House Thul in orbit. But after that bombing run is done, all they could do is to go hit some systems, some hardpoints or even its engines.

A Jast 3 disguised as a Gas Hauler jumped into system. Behind the controls, a trusty pilot Nathan had hired on. As the battle unfolded the freighter made its way towards the main Qekoth cruiser. It's IFF read Back Water Vengance. Not the most subtle of names.

"Cap'n, they're hailing us."

Nathan inhaled deep on the cigar he was smoking and nodded. He slung his armor vest up and over his head, velcroing the thing shut. Next he slammed revolver into it's holster and then donned his brown trenchcaot. It was emblazoned with a gold star, the symbol of the Judges. And judgement was surely about to come for these Qekoth.

"I've been tracking these bugs for months. How did they escape my eyes I wonder? And end up here?"

"Who knows, what we gonna tell em?"

"Tell em we got a shipment of torpedoes, that'll get their slimy little palettes wet. As for me. I'm going aboard."

"Do you really think that's wise Cap'n?"

He donned his red beret and grinned, cigar bouncing as he talked.

"Since when is anything I do wise Corey? Fortune favors those who are bold. Hmmph. Now dock."

And dock they did. As the airlocks whooshed open greedy Qekoth were already there to greet him. Nathan let out a plume of smoke and growled. They went for their plasma pistols. He was faster. With the aid of the force he swept back his brown leather trench coat and drew his pistol.

One eyes squinted, and then he fired, letting all six rounds fly.
*BOOM*BOOM*BOOM---BOOM*BOOM----BOOM-CLICK!*

All six hit their marks. Bone and flesh exploded backwards, painting the walls. Nathan pointed the Heavy Revolver up, flicked his wrist to open the cylinder, and let the smoking shells fall to the floor.

"Hmmpph, that was fun. Now let's see. Which way would the bridge be?"

Now Walk breathed just a little bit easier.

They weren't out of the woods yet, but at the very least they were listening to him. The Twi'lek and Stee anyway. The rest seemed immensely annoyed about their rumble being broken apart before it could have gotten anywhere. But they weren't saying anything in the moment. Probably afraid that if they put too much attention on their entertainment... said entertainment would turn itself against them, by the way the muscles bulged of the Twi'lek?

That wouldn't be a good time.

"All I am saying is this, Doodan, we are all friends here, right?" For this he looked around for some affirmation, but the most he got was a few shoulders shrugged, some eh's and ah's, which made him roll his eyes. "Okay, valued associates and partners in fortune, is that better?"

Aye's and nod's and sure-why-not's.

"Right, so we want to get rich, right?" Now that got their attention- nodding all around, even Doodan's eyes lit up. "Right! So, we need to be able to trust each other."

They nodded, before realizing what they were nodding to.

"Right, so the only reasonable course of action here is if you give the money back."

Automatic response came from the Twi'lek in two parts: "Yeah, okay- wait wot?" All of a sudden the weight and complexity of his suggestion had shut-down the minds of the entire group. Even Stee wasn't sure anymore what was happening right now and it was his money they were bartering over.

"Roger, moving in to assist" her calls for assistance had finally paid off.

She began to dare to smile, as she now had some sort of protection. She saw some ships on the scanner coming toward her.
Once they where in formation around her, she start heading towards the planet, as up here she was a sitting duck.
She issued an order to her troop carriers, All ships form up, and get ready to head to planet and make planet fall as soon as we can. So we are not a burden to the space fight.
At the end of the day they had job to do, and that was to secure the planet, and they would do a much better job down their than up here in space.

She swore to herself after this mission, she was going to invest in ships, she wanted some better troop carriers.
The troops moved back inside the ship, but they had to leave the artillery pieces on the hull, and they in no doubt melt once they entered the atmosphere of planet.

He stopped eyeing up the escape pod, when he heard help was on it's way. He was very close until that moment of just chucking Elaine Thul into it, and pushing the door close, and launching it.
He then watched as the group of fighters, began to appear on the scanners, it would be enough to escort them to planet. He planned to reminder of this, for next time she planned military expansion of her forces. She need some specialized ships to help her deliver her troops to hot zones, as cowering at the back, she became a hindrance to main forces. Though this conversation can wait, as soon with aid fighter cover they would be on their way to make planet fall, and that was something he was looking forward too.

He heard the order for the fleet to form up, and it was time for his men to make their way. The ship they where on, would be in the middle of the formation, so fighters making a pass at them, would be less likely to target this ship. He just hoped that would deter them.

"Lads, I understand it's a foreign concept to let money go, obviously." Everyone nodded again, relieved that the conversation was being stirred back towards common ground. Only a fool would just release money they just won. Unless it was to buy something like drinks, food, booty or a combination of the sort. Walker knew that there was only a brief window, before he lost them again and they would go back to shouting and yelling and pushing.

"But sometimes you need to let some money go, if you want to win more money in the future."

"Wot?"

"What's he sayin?"

"He said that if you give money away it comes back to you eventually."

"Oh! I read about that, karma and all that crap."

"Yeah!"

"Wot?"

This went on for a little while and Walker audibly groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose in the progress. These weren't bad men, they were simply... set in their ways in one way or another. But at least they weren't punching each other in the face anymore. Even Stee and Doodan were chatting amicably again about karma.

Even Stee had been feeling uncomfortable about the prospect of getting his money back.

After all, next time it could be him being asked to give the credits up.

It wasn't wise to play around with fate and start precedents that could presumably disadvantage you in the future. He might never have finished school, but that was a thing he instinctively understood.

"All craft, return to ship! The pirates have been driven off!"

Of course, with the timely engagement of the Qektoth frigates, which are now limping back to safety, thanks to the concentrated fire of both the Verdict and the bombing runs conducted against them, the Croa were mostly safe for now, especially since the pirates seemed to withdraw from the system one after the other. Also, House Thul could now make its landfall with little interference, thanks to the Qektoth pirates being driven off. Furthermore, with the fighter-bombers running out of ammunition, they have to return to ship to get rearmed should these pirates attempt to target the Croa again. At this stage, Janick was happy to have driven off several bands of pirates, even though everyone that had problems with the ORC showed up this day. They return to their assigned hangars onboard the Verdict, with Janick counting her losses, losing roughly one-quarter of the battlecruiser's complement to those Qektoth and other pirate scum.

Boots thundered across the deck plates of the strange vessel. Nathan grunted, reaching down to retrieve a plasma pistol from one of the dead.

"This looks like it might come in handy yes?"

"Talking to yourself again?"

"Who the!"

He whirled, extending his arm fully before realising he hadn't reloaded his pistol yet. None the less it was a familiar sight. A young fiery red haired maiden he'd not seen in a long time. A very long time.

"Catherine? What in the nine hells?"

"Relax there cowboy. I'm here the same as you."

"Doing what?.....Exactly?"

"Hunting Qekoth dipshit. Aint ya noticed, they've been raiding the hell out of the backwater sectors."

"hmm."

"Don't hmmph me. You're lucky I found you. There's about ten elite commando units between here and the bridge, and two more heavy weapon emplacements. And what was your plan were you just gonna....Nathan Sandusky your way in?"

Nathan squinted, feeling a bit of ire come up and then grunted again. He snapped the pistol down, shoved six spiked slugs into it and whipped it shut, bringing it back to high ready. He took another puff of his cigar and nodded.

"In a manner of speaking, yes."

"Typical. Here follow me, I know a short cut."

"How do I know I can even trust you Catherine? I ain't seen ya in adecade. Who you working for now? This Hutt business or....."

"No. No, no, no."

She said, slinging her shotgun over her shoulder and grinning. Nathan could not help looking her up and down in her scantily clad state. The redhead was still gorgeous as when he'd left here.

"Dear Nathan," she chuckled, caressing his beard.

"These ones destroyed my ship, and have three of my crew. No this is VERY, personal."

"Hmmmm. I see."

He weighed the options. Trying to resist the womans sultry charms while his mind raced. Somewhere in that mix of thoughts was the prospect of children but he pushed that thought away. There'd be time to catch up later. For now, he needed to run. To get this hip under control.

"I need to get to the bridge. Get me there without fething me over, I'll help you get your crew back."

"I need my crew now."

It was an age old dilemma. One Nathan knew he couldn't solve without a little help. Once Catherine had her mind set to a task, it was over.

"A game of chance then?" He said, pulling free a wooden cube.

"Red we do the bridge, blue, the prisoners?"

"Crew."

"Ah, ugh, right...crew."

He tossed the cube.....
