Sekalien Supernova (ORC T2 Dominion of Ancora & Torrential )

Cult of the Fallen
Objective: Destroy those defending the Croa, take the ring and enslave...

Fleet:
(6) Corvette Class - http://starwarsrp.ne...heavy-corvette/
(2) Frigate Class - http://starwarsrp.ne...gate/?hl=kathol
(1) Cruiser Class - http://starwarsrp.ne...s-heavy-cruiser

along with..

(5 squadrons) TIE Qiang
(7 squadrons) Naginata Class Starfighter

Aboard the Cruiser "Hearts Blood", Cronus "The enslaver" smiled with joy as their prey came into range. At the neck of the hourglass he had waited, his interdictors ready and at full power. For weeks they had stalked the target. Weakening it, consuming its' few protectors in a bloody battle of attrition. No was the time he had waited for, it was time to go in for the kill. The fleet had two mighty champions, the Verdict and the and the Libita. Till now they had held, not relenting to the continued attacks, but soon their proud defense would be all for nought. There were so few of their fighters remaining and this was to plan. Without fighter coverage they would only have their poor excuses for combat ships remaining and these would soon parash as well. That is when they would strike. Like a pack of wolves hunting a bear they would come with speed and at all angles. Slowly over time they would rip and tear at the two defenders till they were torn asunder. Then there would be blood glorious, innocent blood. He would almost taste it in his mouth. The screams of his victimizes would be like sweet candy. Yes the time of the kill was near and he reveled in it.

"All fighters, you are clear to attack. Destroy those filthy freighters, then bring down the Verdict and Libita!"

Setting up a shot, in its way, wasn't all that different from charting a course. Both processes required precision, compensation for a variety of factors, and supreme timing. A gunman all his life, though not a good one, Jorus had plenty of experience behind weapons from long-range turbos to hold-out blasters. He'd spent the past weeks getting to know the Libita's controls. Lining up these shots wasn't much of a problem.

Or wouldn't have been, if the Qektoth heavy cruiser had no polite enough to get in his field of fire. Faced with a choice - wait for an opportunity that might never come, or spend his one major shot on a lesser target - he opted for the latter.

"Lining up on the nearest frigate. Firing in ten." He gave the countdown. The Libita shook as its spinal mount roared.

The region's gravitational fluxes and hard radiation made it, frankly, a navigator's nightmare. The Whiphid raiders had set out with eight ships. Only instinctive navigation saved them, the technique that Velok had learned from Sasha Santhe as a younger warthog. Now, with the ORC forces focused on the Qektoth pirates, the Whiphids charged out of the sensor-baffling morass.

They attacked the Verdict, the huge triangular battleship that could have shredded them with ease if they'd been polite enough to approach from the bow. They weren't. They charged from the stern.

"All within the range of this transmission, we have...."

Bryce was not able to finish before the might twin mass drivers came to life. Sending super-speed destruction toward the enemy ships.

"Feth Jorus, I mean, everyone accelerate to attack speed, engage fighters and screen the civilian ships."

The Libita was rocked again as the first run of enemy fighters made their attack run. Her shields held and Bryce responded in kind activating the anti fighter defenses. They were in the thick of it now and if they didn't respond quickly then this journey of mercy looks like it may be ending in sorrow.

Pollux really hated slavers and pirates. Really, really, hated them. The way they were targeting innocent civilians who had just recently lost their home planet was absolutely despicable. A new addition to the Outer Rim Coalition, Pollux the Kiffar pilot had not been present to assist with the planetary evacuation of the civilian refugees. Nevertheless, he had heard about the raids that had taken place over the months against the Coalition Fleet helping with the refugees' resettlement. Thus in his reconfigured YT-1300, Pollux had loaded up on basic food and water supplies for some quick charity supply delivery.

That planned quick delivery ended up turning into several days of navigational hell just to get to the neck of the hourglass. When he did get there, tired and low on fuel, what greeted him was not a pretty sight. The Coalition ships appeared to be being quite hammered in what was no doubt the worst attack yet. Perhaps the final one. And those squadrons of starfighters... "Feth, feth, feth, feth, feth" Pollux cursed under his breath as the first waves of enemy pirate fighters hit the Libita. He had to take immediate evasive maneuvers as one squadron seemed to swerve around to target him.

Taking some shots at a couple TIE Qiang with his mounted turbolasers, Pollux decided to respond to the transmission of one of the capital ships. "Libita center, roger, this is Pollux Alrai, engaging enemy fighters now." Pollux knew that, at best, he could only help delay the inevitable advances of the pirates. But for now, he would focus on the battle - and worry about dropping off cargo and refueling later.

"Copy that"

Of course, the Famfrit accompanying the ring station deployed its three squadrons of Neimoidian Yachts in an attempt to defend itself, while the attackers comprised a dozen squadrons of fighters, as well as an assortment of capital ships. And certainly the Libita deployed five squadrons of fighters to join the fray, while the Verdict deployed all four of them. And, as reward for her service on Bothawui, Janick was given temporary command of the Verdict's fighter complement, all four squadrons of them. And unlike most factions (even the Sith factions, which usually neglect starfighter combat, usually have a clear chain of command, however easy it is to countermand by the Sith proper, even though in practice they would mostly leave starfighter pilots alone), the ORC had no formal starfighter chain of command. And because Janick estimated that it was a low-survivability mission, she had all 24 of her bombers loaded with two heavy Deathballs apiece, which meant that much larger explosions would be at play here, compared to the Mando interceptors. Once the four squadrons took off, Janick issued her mission orders:

"Group Alpha, Group Besh, split up and target the enemy frigates, return to screen the ship once we have begun engaging the enemy"

"Copy that, Alchemist Actual" Tastidian acknowledged.

What survivors there will be against the TIE Qiangs and Naginatas will then be drawn towards the closest hangar, where they will be hammered by point-defense upon approach. With that said, with the Kaeshana heavy railgun repeaters, she could fire at a Qiang or Naginata without being seen firing those, from much further away than interceptors could fire, much like the other Chiloon pilots could, thanks to the tracer-less complements of ammunition and the railguns not even leaving a muzzle flash, unlike conventional slug repeaters.

Kerx was the type of man who was truly neutral, until innocents were involved. That's when things started to get personal. He had heard about the pirate raids on his faction, and he wanted to help. He thinks he can serve best as a protector of civilian ships, so that's what he planned to do. In case he couldn't and might have to take up passengers, The Whispering Death stocked on a lot of food and water in case housing got overly populated and if he was even taking passengers. When all was said and done, he headed to the fleet's coordinates, making sure to get all weapons ready in case he was going into an immediate fire fight. When Kerx got out of hyperspace and all weapons were full functional, he deployed communication to the two capital ships.

"This is Kerx Zyron deploying communication to The Verdict and The Libita. I am here to help. Whatever you need done I can accomplish it, just say the word."

Libita-class command ship

The Libitas engines would decrease thrust and the shields had turned off as the weapon charged. Sanya's eyes shut her hands relaxed on the controls. With the guidance of the force she began to analyze the situation. "Firgates you maps have been updated. Two vollys at the cruiser Heading zero six zero Seven." Her voice was calm like the spring breeze on naboos plains. It always seemed so strange how the womans personality changed in conflict, how she could stay so collected and focused. "I'll make you that opportunity jorus." She said taking notice of everyone around her. The staff stood up moved about with long strides passing information and taking reports. "Just be ready for it. Trust the force."

"SRG one is away."
"Weapon change at sixty percent."
"Enemy fighters are coming in for a strafing run on our port side."
"SRG two is away."

The reports came in fast, words thrown about the room for the right person to hear them. At times it got confusing picking apart what was needed. As expected the cruiser began to dive to avoid the wall of green lasers. "Jorus it's now or never." "We are at nighty seven percent." All fell quiet inside waiting and anticipating when the shots would be taken. As far as the pirates where concerned they had more shots. The weapon against foes like this was a good fear tactic. Besides who could stand against Rendili Might.

"Mam we are reading an ambush from behind. It seems they used the black holes to hide their ships. I'm getting reports that they are making a run for the ring."

Sanya's eyes snapped to the woman who spoke. Her jaw tightened pushing the masseter muscle out. "Tell them to lock all hangers except the ones used my the navy. Fighters are to scramble. Let me know if enemy ships make it onboard and alert all other vessels of the situation." Sanya wanted to pull the libita around into a more close defensive line, but straying from the course would lessen the chances of success. The woman already knew the moment readings on the enemy fleet appeared that neither side would have victory. She knew significant losses would happen.

"Good eye," Jorus said, as Sanya's capital batteries engaged the cruiser. The big Qektoth ship slewed, as intended - into the spinal mount's line of fire. One shot, she'd said, or maybe two, and he'd already used one. This second shot looked like it might be underpowered. Still, underpowered was better than nothing. The hypervelocity spinal mount chucked a ferromagnetic slug downwind at two kilometres per second, a third of the HVG's normal muzzle velocity.

"The cruiser's shields are breached. Our spinal mount is offline."

Other guns under his control roared to life. Bright streaks connected the Libita with the Qektoth cruiser - lasers, ions. The Qektoth's weapons fired back in earnest...and ignored the Libita's shields utterly. Sparks jumped from Jorus' console as the Libita's systems began to go offline.

"Karking Qektoth tech. Shields are useless."

Aboard Pollux's Ship
Objective: Slay Fighters, Survive

She was kinda a late edition. Her Jast 1 was down for repairs and her Mon Calamari Co-Pilot was keeping Pollux company in the cockpit. Though he wasn't doing jack squat without his command, since after all they were guests. She'd come along hoping to score an easy run a deckhand on this smugglers run, but feth. Now they were in a shooting match.

And it was real uncomfortable.

"Whoah! Pollux Worsh! What the feth!" She shouted, as the orange jacketed wild woman stumbled into the cockpit. Then she spied the attack run of fighters and grunted.

"Worsh you help him out. Pollux Im'a jump on the gun turret mate!"

She moved quick, those old spacers legs making quick work of the bucking and heaving vessel with odd gravity lapses. Old YT-1300's were notorious for that. She made it to the gun turret in one piece and fired her up, slipping into the seat. Then she jammed the comm set on her head.

"All right Cap'n, doing my magic."

She tracked one fighter and lead it by a hair, calling on the force to enhance her reflexes. When she fired, red lances stuttered into the void. The first two missed, the third hit it's wing and sent it screaming off into space. Not a solid kill but a good enough start.

"Got one. Watch out dude! We got bogies coming out of cover, looks like on your nine? Can't tell exactly!"

"Onward watch the Libita Burn, its' shields are useless and soon it will be nothing but a scorched shinny hulk!"

The embodiment of Cronus like all his other brood mates lived to war. The blood lust of combat. Watching his prey be swarmed and wounded only made the lust stronger.

"I will feats on your flesh queen Sanya, a royal bounty for my table. I will have your soul and your people to work my yards. To build me a slave fleet to conquer the sector!"

All capital ships under his command began to swarm around the wounded flagship of the Croa, from all side plasma fire began to take the gleaming armor of the proud ship. She would fight on, lead by her creator and master. Question is for how much longer would she be able...

"Feth this guy always did have a dirty mouth on him. Wait i'll get this Sanya... Shut up you scruffy looking nerf herder!" Bryce yelled back over the open comms.

Almost in unison the Libita began to be pounded from the enemy corvettes that had by now moved into position and began to fire broad sides at their port and starboard sides. As the bombardment continued Bryce's control panel began to light up as battery after battery began to fall silent. If something was not done and soon they would be throwing stones at the enemy ships...

"The enemy frigate is at point-blank range from the Libita, Alchemist Actual" Ornfra reported back in.

"Copy that, Ornfra, keep tight and watch out for enemy point-defense. Mando squadrons, cover us, bomber squadrons, we're going in!"

While the Libita was being hit pretty hard from behind, the fighters began to make an attack vector towards the damaged enemy frigate, sensing a target of opportunity. Also, with the enemy fighters being spread all over the place with the dozen Neimoidian Yachts being more or less ignored, and the Famfrit firing its heavy weapons at the Qektoth cruiser, realizing by now that the enemy weapons, while able to bypass shields altogether, have to be fired from a short range. Hopefully the three 380mm HVC rounds will hit it, as well as the heavy turbolasers; however, as the TIE Qiangs and Naginatas made an attempt to intercept the blob of fighters, it was a little late, but she fired at an additional Naginata coming in at point-blank range, while still lining up to drop the heavy bomb on the enemy frigate and taking hits that left her shieldless for the time being. Shortly thereafter, 21 heavy bombs exploded near or on the hull of the damaged enemy frigate while the fighters dropping the bombs were turning towards the enemy cruiser, hoping to perform one last bombing run before having to return to the Verdict for rearmament. With so many big explosions on and around the enemy frigate, the cloud of debris made it hard to tell just how much damage it took or even if it survived the bombing run or not.

As Kerx was deploying communication, he saw a fighter on his scanner jump on his tail. He had to cut it short. It was only him and his ship. On instinct, as these kinds of scenarios happened a lot, The Whispering Death gripped his steering bars tightly, with some muscles bulging. He winced as he tried to go as high as he could.

"Don't let me down girl"

Evasive Maneuvers. He tried to get the fighter off of his tail, but couldn't. He wasn't panicking. All he was thinking about was how he was going to get out of this mess. After a good 30 seconds some friendlies pulled in and got the lone fighter off of his tail.

"That was one hell of a shot!" He yelled through his channel with the pilots. Thank god for them.

Now, it was time to get some payback from those lousy pirates and slavers. They made a big mistake trying to kill The Whispering Death. Kerx saw a group of two TIE Qiangs, and he went in. Weapons fully functional and ready to fire.....

In the heat of battle, Pollux had almost forgot about fellow crew members onboard his vessel. The Kiffar grinned as he heard Seraya's shouts and nodded to the woman as she entered the cockpit. "Go for it." He answered in the affirmative, and in a few moments heard Seraya over the comm. "Alrighty, let's see what you've got, Seraya," Pollux responded and soon heard the gun turret firing away, resulting in apparently at least one good hit.

As she had warned, a couple enemy fighters screamed into view from the far left. With a grunt, Pollux put his beloved YT-1300 into a good strong twirl to help evade the bogies and keep their shots inaccurate. The ship shook violently as it inevitably took some hits while passing through an incoming barrage of TIE Qiangs. The Kiffar pilot glanced sideways at the Mon Calamari co-pilot next him. "Worsh, keep us updated on the bogies as they come. Let's go help the Mando squadrons cover the bombing run - looks like those bombers are making some progress against the pirate fleet."

The enemy cruiser soon emerged into view, the one that the last bombing run was apparently targeting. It was as Pollux flew right behind the bombing squadron and help cover their run that he noticed the capital ships were swarming the Croa. The Libita wasn't in good shape either. "Guys, looks like the Libita is taking quite a hit. Should we go and try evacuate a couple folks or what?"

Worsh nodded at his words and flipped a few more switches, spinning up auxiliary power to the engines to help the Captains manuevers. Red lances sticthed the void behind them, a few clipping their shields, but nothing that was too major. The Mon Cal licked his lips and grinned. It was a kind of maniacal grin, like he loved danger.

"Got it Cap'n."

From the turret she was raining fire down on the pursuers. She jammed her thumbs hard into the butterfly triggers, letting loose another salvo of rounds. This set missed, but the last bolt connected, shattering a wing on the enemy TIE fighter. Frustration made her cheeks flush red. Then Pollux asked for advice and she snapped back over the headset.

"It's your ship Cap'n, but if we wanna survive then hell ya! We should do anything but hang out here!"

Worsh chided her over the comms.

"Cool down there viper."

"Eat it fish head."

Worsh smiled.

"You miss the next shot. Twenty creds on it."

"In your dreams. Hold my beer and watch this big guy!"

Libita-class command ship (sheilds down 8% recharged)
X2 Udarnik Assault frigate
  • UAF 1 (shields 73%)
  • UAF 2 (shields 48%)

Sanya watched the reading on the shot and heard jorus confirm the hit. "Open all fire on that cruiser." The thrill and adrenaline began pumping through her. She hated war, she hated to fight but she was at her best when the call arose. "Frigate's keep the fighters off..." The libita began to rumble as a volley of shots impacted.

"Sheilds are rapidly going down."
"Switch them off and let them build back up. The Hull can take it."
"Yes mam."

The leader seemed to make idle threats over the com's. Where the defence force lacked in fleet power it was made up by sheer strength. The woman's tail would flick in an agitated and aggressive way waiting for Bryce to finish his insult. "Underestimating ones opponent is a quick way to defeat. I will assure you, you won't get the satisfaction your looking for this day." She said in reply to the enemy's vulgar words intent to intimidated. "Block all communication from the enemy ships. Action speaks louder after all."

"Guard pincer maneuver and use the composite beams on the cruiser that Bryce marks." She said whilst looking at the flame headed man. The ships internal com's opened up as Sanya smirked. "Attention all brace for impact." Sanya began to steer the ship to port side slowly getting in the flight path of a cruiser.

All the while heavy turbo and ion cannons would rain down on ships from both sides. The shots that hit impacted hard at close range and even with half of the point defence lasers enemy fighters were been denied of easy flight paths.

"Mam reporting for duty." The man said as he walked onto the bridge. "The civilians made it difficult to get here fast." "No time for excuses. Get to your seat quickly and take the controls." With a sharp salute he'd rush to his seat close to Bryce. He wore the old republic uniform that had been reused for her own navy personal. "No one disturb me. Until I say okay." She said with certainty. "Bryce I'm putting more weight on to your shoulders here but I need you to deal with reports. I just need everyone to trust me and trust in the force."

Her legs lifted up from the floor and crossed as the back of her hands laid upon the knees. Eyes shut tight with a deep breath to calm her self as she began to block out everything...

[member="Sanya Val Swift"] [member="Bryce Bantam"]

Sanya's voice washed over Jorus as he focused on coordinating the Libita's heavy guns. In the back of his mind, he processed what she said and incorporated or ignored it as necessary. The Libita could put out a respectable quantity of pain; if he did his job right, it all went in the right directions. The Qektoth cruiser now trailed atmosphere and flame from half a dozen breaches. A pity: Qektoth ships were unique in plenty of ways, and the Coalition had uses for them. But the risk to the civilians required the quickest possible solution, even a lethal one.

"Feth Sanya, not the best time for a cat nap!" Bryce said as he stepped up to the command station.

"Tactical, take shield fully off line and divert to weapons. The cults are using Qektoth ships, they will cut right through them like butter now we are in spitting distance. Weapons, target the cruiser like the queen said, target them a mid ship no real weakness to hit from here so lets try and do max damage to those shields.

"UAF one and two, launch a fill spread of torpedoes on my mark. this commander has wasted most of this attack craft engaging us. The left very little to defense. We will try and get those shields down with the beams, when they fall loose those widow makers point blank!"

As the shields fell the Libita began to shake harder from the pounding, but he held like a prize fighter pulling a rope a dope maneuver. This was a gamble, putting everything to attack to hope the armor would hold. But at this point they have very few options left.

[member="Bryce Bantam"]

"On it."

There was a time when Jorus would have thought twice about following Bryce's lead in a situation this tense, with this much at stake. But the kid had grown up, done more than his share, even saved Mara's life once. Jorus' dad had always said you could trust a man's intentions without trusting his arm, but far as Bryce was concerned, Jorus trusted both. He retargeted to fit the de facto captain's battle plan, and the Libita's guns roared in a new direction.
