Showdown at Kaeshana [Rebellion]

skin, bone, and arrogance
The good news: we won a dominion over Kaeshana, a pile of dirt that is strategically relevant (yay!).

The bad news: it will become a Rebellion, which means the fight for it isn't over (boo!).

That being said, don't give up hope! The First Order has some of the best writers I've ever had the privilege of working with, and the outcome of the Rebellion begins and ends with good, cooperative storytelling. We can absolutely still win this thing. Please use this thread to brainstorm some ideas about what we can do that will fall neatly into the below victory conditions for the Rebellion.

Please, please, please do not engage in any kind of OOC back and forth or dramallama with anyone about this. Don't complain in the main chat or in the OOC thread. Deal politely and fairly with others. We will not be underhand on an OOC level, and we will trust that the other interested parties won't either. If and when we have a problem, we will deal with it discretely and not derail either the roleplay or OOC thread.

Here are the rules by which we will be judged. Please consider these rules very carefully when brainstorming ideas.

VICTORY CONDITIONS

The following will not be considered when judging a Rebellion.
  • Person vs Person Duels. The amount of duels won or lost in a Rebellion does not contribute to either faction’s victory.
  • Objectives. The amount of objectives won or lost in a Rebellion does not contribute to either faction’s victory.
  • Non-Player Characters. The actions of NPCs involved from either side in a Rebellion does not contribute to either faction’s victory.
The following will be considered when judging a Rebellion.
  • Teamwork. The amount of teamwork each faction exhibits over the course of the Rebellion will contribute to victory, including its organization, cooperation with the faction's members, and how it executes its vision for the Rebellion. This also includes members from opposing factions working with each other, rather than against each other, to provide entertaining role-play.
  • Story. Does it make sense? How exciting is it? Is the Rebelling faction trying to weave a purposeful story or put up points on a scoreboard? This should not include the reason for the Rebellion, but rather the story that proceeds once the Rebellion has begun.
  • OOC Drama. Negative drama instigated by either side, publicly, can negatively impact a Faction’s chances for victory in an Rebellion.
  • Entertainment. The value of entertainment provided by Factions in a Rebellion can positively impact a Faction’s chances for victory in an Rebellion.
  • Effort. The amount of effort put into the Rebellion by each faction participating will positively impact that faction's chances for victory. This includes, but is not limited to - active writers participating, quality of writing, and responding to your writing partners in a reasonable time.

I'm thinking our Naval reinforcements arrive and we establish an exclusion zone around the planet. Inform anyone that incursions into the exclusion zone will be seen as an act of war. Then, you know, shoot them when they ignore us. Thoughts?

Navy wise, we should focus on denying the enemy access to the ground. I'll bring a larger fleet, but you small commanders and the like should be bringing smaller fleets to compliment us.

I believe we should have a policy, of asking, then shooting. Trying to communicate with the enemy before the battle begins. But that's just me.

Fleet wise, I was thinking of personally bringing:

4x Imperial-x SD
6x Victory X SD
5x Empire
7x Dagger class
3x Vindicators

Just checking if bringing this amount would be kosher. I don't wanna step on any toes, or be seen to be a total nerf herder.

As far as the ground battles go, scorched earth. This place is already a nuclear hellhole by all intents and purposes, so lets burden the enemy with the fact they'll be responsible for the deaths of thousands along the way.

I have three characters and typically do my own thing for Dominions - so will put that aside and work with whatever story we decide upon and bring either troopers or a Ren (or two) to the team party :)

Shall I assume that there is a FOB on the ground? Something for my apes and I to fortify whilst the naval shooting gets underway?

(Also, hi. Uhh, mercenary apes at your service.)
[member="Asharad Graush"], tell the ... um ... ape what we've got!

I just joined the FO (good timing on my part, I guess), and while I'm still getting my bearings, Esker here will be available to help out. He's just a generic, low-ranking Stormtrooper right now, so I'd imagine I could fit him in pretty much wherever he's needed/wherever the story might place him.

I'm looking forward to the fancy flying, any other pilot writers might be interested in cooperative fancy flying by any chance? I think it has the potential for awesomeness. Like enforcing our no-fly zone together?

I'll tag the both of you in my post. Either you can say you're out dealing with hostiles, or securing some ruins being reconstructed Santaissa.

Probably the Citadel is being rebuilt or the White Palace, though I'm leaning to the former.

I wont be able to post much with a broken hand but I'll show up with a Darr Itah and pretend to be important. Fleet comp looks fine, I'm happy to just play commander in the background and mess with support units and etc. if you'd like to handle the meat of the action.

Planet is currently blockaded / secured / in the process of being secured by First Order Army.

Essentially holding the entire planet hostage. Game plan OOC is to wait until GA tries something before strangling the planet.

IC, we continue as if this Dominion is like any other planet claim.

While I am not new in terms of how long I have been a member of the faction, I have been horrifically inactive. As such, I would love to be able to jump back in here and help anyway I can with my character who for easy reference is a Stormtrooper Lieutenant. I have not been involved in a Rebellion RP before so I am not entirely sure if I can be of much help but I would love to give it a go.

So wherever my character can be of assistance or would make the most sense just let me know. For whatever it is worth in regards to planning, wait and see until the GA makes its move seems like a good plan to me.

I do very much like the sound of mercenary apes as well. [member="Malok"]

Sounds good to me, boss. I'm probably going to hit the hay soon, since it's nearing 2 AM over here, but I'll be trying to get a post up before I leave for school.

@[member='Project X-2'], if you assault the ruins and can give the coordinates for those artillery guns to me....I might be able to smash them for you hehehe :p

[member="Aesa Urkith"]
I may be mistaken, but right now it sounds like Siobhan and Tempest are in the process of scouting potential spots for artillery. Once I get a clearer idea of what's going down, I'll see if Esker can send the coordinates your way.

@[member='Project X-2'], Yeah! It looks like they're setting them up in the mountains. But when they start firing at you or anyone you can see you should be able to get an idea of their position :)
