Silence Is Golden

Romeo than stood up, he liked to move when he talked, helped him think about what he was going to say next, and how to say.
"See, the force is a power which no one truly understands. I could show you more, but they would hurt, and I dont want to hurt you." he said as he walked around the back of the chair, and put up his lightsaber.
"The force is a nexus that can cause pain, suffering, enlightenment. It can cause joy, ease pain, and bring pleasure." He was hoping she caught on that he had mixed the two words enlightenment, and pleasure up. One who noticed little things like this, would notice it all.
He moved more over to the computer that...he wasnt sure what it did actually.
"It can draw down a path of power, love, hate, revenge, hero, healer, guardian, and so many more things my friend. It all depends on how you use it, and you should know...you can use it. You have the ability to use this power, and with a teacher...first realize by some traditions, be they Jedi, or Sith use the word master instead of teacher. I prefer teacher, for I am the master over no man, but myself...back to what i was saying. With a teacher you could learn how to use it Katar." [member="Katar"]

Katar watched him as he walked. She listened to what he said, but tilted her head in temporary confusion. He just said that that pain and suffering in the same category as enlightenment. But, that can't be right. How can you be enlightened when you're suffering? Pain doesn't bring that. Hm. Maybe she just heard him wrong or something. She looked at him even more confused than before when he said that she had the ability to control the Force. What? No way. That can't be right...... can it?

Romeo could feel the confusion in her, and smiled. Not many people realize they can use the force, and are greatly surprised by it. Sometimes this would lead them to the dark side. All that power, but Romeo didn't make his students take a side, it was their choice.
"Shall I take you, Katar, as my full fledged apprentice, my student, and teach you all I know? This would be a great honor for myself. I have only but teaches a fee for only a little, and never have I kept one for long. I would like you to be my predecessor." [member="Katar"]

Katar thought for a moment. So, she was going to be taught how to use the "Force", huh? She couldn't even begin to comprehend where that might take her. But she wasn't one to pass up an opportunity to learn something new. So, with an enthusiastic gleam in her eye, she nodded her head. This was going to be most interesting indeed.

"Then you will have to trust me Katar." He said as he walked over to the back of his chair and leaned against it.
"You'll have to be by my side quite often, do things that may not make sense to you, or things that make you angry. This is a hard path to follow my young friend." [member="Katar"]

Katar looked at the ground in contemplation. In the end, all paths are difficult to follow. Why? Because life makes it that way. If life were easy, would there really be a purpose to do anything? Obstacles and challenges are needed to guide people and to help them understand that life is a gift. One that should never be taken for granted. Katar understood this. She nodded again, taking a deep breath. She knew without a doubt in her mind that she was going to take this challenge head-on and see it through to the end.

Katar cocked a brow at him. Sit? Sit? To put it so bluntly almost sounded as if he was referring to her as a pet. She didn't like that idea AT ALL. Nevertheless, she sat down cross-legged on the floor.
[member="Romeo Sin"]

"Close your eyes. Relax, and clear you mind." He said in a monotone voice. The thing Romeo always did was test his students on patience, and self control. So he would be mean just a tad, see what got their nerves pinched.
"Concentrate on your surroundings, listen to the force beckon you, you will hear it trust me, but you must listen for it." Romeo's ideas of the force were at best alien to how most people saw it.
[member="Katar"]

Katar closed her eyes. She cleared all thoughts from her mind, and listened. She listened to the sounds of the machines around them. She listened to Romeo's breathing, and his heartbeat. And then, her hearing stretched further. She heard the voices of the crew in the cafeteria. She heard the walking of the officers as they made their way to their various posts. She heard the hum of the hyperdrive. Finally, Katar heard voices. Whispers. They sounded as if they were near her. But she knew the only person with her was Romeo. The whispers grew louder, but their words weren't exactly clear.

"Listen carefully, the force commands you, do you obey, or dare control it for you're own gain Katar let it enter your body, let it flow deep inside you." He said as he watched with a smile.
"Good...good...I can feel you reaching out...keep at it." His every word was soft, but he allowed them to get the cold touch to it, not menacing, but to show his darkness. Allowing it to express that he wasn't a nice person, but not a bad man. [member="Katar"]

Katar obeyed, concentrating harder. The whispers once more grew louder, their words now just barely legible. They were speaking her name. A thousand voices, all saying her name. It was frightening, but also fascinating. So this was the Force? Thousands of voices that spoke to you at all times? Katar wondered what else it could be.

Romeo stood, and walked close to her, then took a knee before her, there was no doubt in his mind that Katar was what he wanted in a apprentice now. Her rebellious nature reminded him of his youth, and thus drew a closer connection between the two.
"I want you to reach out, and only feel me, nothing more. I want you to see me as the force does. I want you to hear my heart beat, my lungs filled with oxygen, and through this, I will try to distract you. By many ways I deem necessary."
Romeo then gently rubbed his hands, and flames slowly began to rise from them. He considered himself one of the best pyromancers existing, but of course this was his own opinion.
Romeo conjured control over the flames, and sent out small tendrils from his index fingers. They coiled around her body, never touching, not even close enough to cause harm, but heat.
[member="Katar"]

Katar focused on Romeo next to her. She felt his heartbeat, his breath, and the Force strongly woven into his core. The voices died down until all she could hear was Romeo. Her other senses became aware of the heat slowly intensifying around her, but her thoughts remained soley on him.
[member="Romeo Sin"]

He intensified the heat, letting it crackle louder, and poured more darkness into the force.
Breathing slowly, and trying to wrath as calm as possible, he set a black ball in front of her, but didn't tell get what it was.
"Katar, keep your eyes closed, but feel through the force, this object in front of you. When you have felt it, command the force to wrap around the object, make it do your bidding, and then lift the object up."
This was an old black marble ball from his youth. He used them for practice, and calming relaxation.

Katar relinquished her concentration from Romeo, and began feeling the room with the Force for the object he was referring to. Finally, she sensed the ball in front of her. She let all of her mind focus on it. She coaxed the waves of force around it to wrap around it like a blanket. Then, she slowly began trying to lift it. The ball tediously began to float off of the ground, every few minutes getting a few feet higher.

The flames intensified in their heat, though again, not enough to hurt her, just make her uncomfortable. "That's great!" He said watching the ball. He was praising her, and distracting her at the same time. He was happy to see the teenager slowly gain control of what she had inside her, it was heart warming to known she could now gently tap into that gift of hers.
"Lift high, very high. Make it move around, throw it if you want!"
[member="Katar"]

Tiny beads of sweat began to form on Katar's forehead. She could barely hear Romeo's words, and her body was reacting to the flames around her. She made the ball rise ever slowly higher, and then began moving it from side to side in a kind of swaying motion. It was harder than it appeared for her, as she had never used the Force quite like this before. with a strenuous sound escaping her, she sent the ball hurdling straight into the metal wall.
[member="Romeo Sin"]

Romeo dropped the flames into extinguish, and clapped in appraisal. The girl was a great student, better than any he had before.
"Last person I tried to distract with my flames tried to kill me. You have quite more patience then you probably think. When you set your mind to something, nothing distracts you. Come my great student. Let us get refreshments."
[member="Katar"]

Panting, Katar opened her eyes. She got up and looked over at the ball. Even though she had felt herself throwing it, she hadn't quite believed it was happening. But now, staring at it where she had wanted it to go, she was in awe. She had done that? It was.... Incredible! A wide grin stretched across her face, her eyes wide with wonder.
