Silence Is Golden

As he saw her wonder in her eyes, he smiled back, and offered his hand to her.
"Indeed that's the power of the force my young friend, but be weary...this wonder can turn into something more, and turn you into somethin you may not like. Unless you wish for power beyond belief so that you may smite down foes." [member="Katar"]

Smiting foes didn't sound like such a bad thing, she thought. But that kind of drive could go to her head and make her reckless. That was a very bad thing. She took his hand. She'd just have to make sure to keep her head in the game. Katar pointed to her throat with one claw-fingernail, her way of saying a drink of water sounded good.

Romeo nodded, and lead the way to the cafeteria on the ship. When they got there, he went straight their frig, and took two waters out.
"Here you go." He said politely, and took the top off, and sipped it.
"So...you can speak..but you do not speak often, or you do not know many words?"
@Katar

Katar took the water greatfully and sipped it. She shrugged a little at his question. "B....Both...." She said with slight difficulty. She hated the way most words couldn't make it out of her mouth right. She could understand them just fine, but saying them was an entirely different matter.

He make a face, and found it unacceptable. His student needed more than force training. She needed people skills, teaching in Galactic Basic, and trust. Not everyone was out to hurt another.
"Well...I'll teach you to talk too then. Can you read?"
[member="Katar"]

Katar nodded. She'd taught herself how to read when she was still a young girl, with only two brands on her back. She also taught herself how to take things apart and put them back together without anyone noticing. Yes, she knew many things. Talking had seemed unecessary at the time. But now that she was free to do so many new things, why not? Learning to talk wouldn't be so bad, right?

(Forgive me I was playing D&D :0 )

"Well...lets to to my personal cabin. I have books to which I can teach you. Talking is a way to express yourself, among other ways. It's important to be able to speak what's on your mind, and heart."
[member="Katar"]

((OOC: Dude! I wanna learn how to play table-top D&D SO BAD! But no one I know can teach me!))

Katar nodded. She'd been quiet long enough. Maybe it was time for her to finally speak up for a change. She finished her water, throwing the bottle in the trash can a ways away with a perfect arc.

(There's a SW D&D too lol)

Romeo lead the way to his cabin, taking huh water with him. On the way there he had a new exercise for her.
"Catch my bottle, use the force to do it. We won't enter my chambers till you catch while were walking. This isn't to be mean, its just more training Katar. Remember concentrate, the force is always there, you just have grab a hold of it, and use it."
Afterwards he tossed his bottle behind him.

Katar watched the bottle sail over her head. Her first reaction was to tense her leg muscles and dive for it. But Romeo said to use the Force. No hands. She fought the urge to jump, and instead closed her eyes. She concentrated on the tiny Force signature coming from the bottle. There was barely anything coming from it, but that was enough for her. She reached out a hand and folded the waves of Force energy underneath the bottle like a cushion. This allowed her to catch it in mid-air with no physical contact whatsoever.

"Now toss it back please." He laughed as he wanted more water again from th bottle. He hadn't thought that one all through.
"You know Katar...when I first learned to use the force..I pulled a tree, a very large tree, roots and all well the the ground...then I was attacked. My master taught me well, but they were harsh on me. I try not to be the same." He spoke as they finally made it to his chambers. He opened the two sliding doors, and stepped aside.
"Ladies first."

Katar pulled the bottle to her hand, throwing it back to Romeo. She slowly stepped into his room. Her eyes grew large with curiousity as she studied everything around her. She took in all of the new scents and sounds, immersing herself in the enviornment as she always did.

Romeo kept his chambers quite clean, and refreshing. He had five book shelves, all with books on them. The room was quite large for a bedroom, and the refresher was larger. The walls were red, and his bed used black sheets, and black blankets, his room up in the Shadow Nest was more impressive, but this was just as nice.
He sipped his water as he walked in, and removed his robes. Under he wore a normal black long sleeve shirt, and black pants.
"Pick a book, and book. Something with a title that catches your fancy." [member="Katar"]

Katar walked almost carefully over to the shelves, She didn't want to ruin a room that was so clean. She sniffed the shelves lightly, taking in the scents of each book. She felt along each of the spines and took in each texture. She stopped right in the center of the third shelf. Slowly, she pulled out the book underneath her fingertips. She read the cover. "Rare Galactic Beasts and Where to Find Them". Flipping through some of the pages she became very interested in the subject matter. Animals were some of the most beautiful things in the Galaxy to Katar.

Romeo walked in, over to the book shelves, and watched her. With a curious thought he asked her a question.
"Why do you smell everything? In fact...you look quite human, but there's mannerism you have that are not human at all...in fact you act like a cat. I mean no offense by this, I am just curious my young friend." He said looking at the book she had finally chosen.
"Ah, a book on the beasts of the galaxy huh?' He smiled at her. [member="Katar"]

"S.....S.......S......Scien....t.....tist....." Katar said slowly, having a difficult time saying the word. When she was still a slave, one of her owners conducted horrible experiments on her. It made her stronger, faster, and even a bit smarter. But it made her even less of a human than she already was. She was forced to fight all manner of beasts in the arenas of Corellia. The "Blood Champion", they used to call her. At first, the killing had made her so... tortured inside. The thought of ending the life of anything in front of her tore her to shreds. But she did it so much, that eventually she was truly becoming an animal. Katar purged the memories from her mind and nodded when asked if this was the book she wanted.

Romeo wasnt sure how he felt about this, as for genetic mutation wasnt exactly a bad thing, sometimes it was the worse thing, and in this case, it was the worse thing.
"Not all men of science are bad Katar, just remember that. A doctor is a man of science, and he helps many people." He said, as he gently laid a hand on the book, and flipped pages over till he landed on a creature called the "Tusk Cat".
"This word here says fe-line. It means cat." [member="Katar"]

"F....Fe-line........Cat........" She repeated. Katar sat down on the floor, crossing her legs and staring up at Romeo intently, waiting for the next few words. Her face was bright and ready to learn.
[member="Romeo Sin"]

Katar's brow furrowed at the next few words. "Na....Naa-boo......... C.....C.....Corr......Rrrell......rel-ia...........T......T'sk," She replied.
