Now she was just confused. What was Windu looking for in this burrito of a dance floor.

Sam stood up and pretended to be flustered from the heat. Offering no reply she retreated slowly back to the bar and took a bite of her appetizer.

The other woman showed no signs of stopping.

When [member="Sam Jhovna"] moved away, Antares was a few seconds behind her. He was curious as to why she had so suddenly decided to end the dance there.

The Zeltron was left below and Antares sat down beside Jhovna. "What's wrong?"

She smirked and cocked her head with joy,

"Nothing? I win."

Then shook another bite of her fried pickle and smiled deviously. ...Ha. And he said she couldn't dance. A fool's gambit. She waved the bar tender over so she could order a drink.

"Why? Is that lightsaber in your pants, or are you just happy to see me?"

[member="Antares Windu"]

He watched her cautiously to see if it was just falseness in her expression.

"You're the one who left, I won."

He chuckled softly.

"It could be both. But I don't think you'd be able to handle it on either occasion."

Oh! He plays the hard ball too. Hahaha.

Sam just couldn't stop but start to laugh. It was too classic. Never in a million years had she imagined she would be sparring euphemisms with a Knight. It was priceless. Just, classic entertainment at it's finest.

"Haha. Fine. Fine. You win. All hail the great Windu. The best dancer of them all. Huzza. Huzza. Haha."

She playfully bowed and sat back down. Smiling and chuckling as she did. The blond gave a finger to the bar tender and ordered a vodka tonic with 2 lemons. She was in a good mood.

[member="Antares Windu"]

"You don't need to get so excited. I'm certain there are private places for that." He said when she got up and performed her mock bows.

He was joking to an extent, but he might as well get as much thrill talking to the woman [member="Sam Jhovna"] as he could in a night.

It's not everyday you got to do such a thing.

For most people.

She laughed and stuck out her tongue. No wonder he didn't have a girlfriend. His sense of humor was raw male ego. Sadly, it reminded her of all her past boyfriends. In college she couldn't help but date jerks. Why is that with women? Ugh.

She allowed a silence to pass as the bar tender served her drink. There would be no comeback. No mocking tone. Instead she let the cool glass caress her hand. Taking the moment to envision the joy of drinking it all down.

Sam turned in her seat and faced the dance floor with a long forgotten gaze,

"So, why is it that you are still single Antares Windu of Coruscant. Clearly you have the skills and the humor for it. No luck so far?"

Her tone was amusing but humble. This wasn't a setup. Just a change of pace.

[member="Antares Windu"]

"I am not from Coruscant, my origins are of Haruun Kal." He corrected with the slightest hints of an amused expression.

"I have tried I suppose, twice if I remember correctly." He made a snorting sound as if it was funny.

"Not anymore. How about you, Sam Jhovna the Dirty Dancer, how many men have been in your life?"

[member="Sam Jhovna"]

Jsc

"Oh... About a hundred."

She shrugged and took a sip. Each one worse than the last. Ugh.

"By the way, no nicknames. Girlfriends like nick names. Cute ones. Like birdie or sunshine. You spend ten minutes with a girl and say 'Dirty Dancer'; you're in for a world of hurt."

She smirked and nodded. Just because a woman does something stupid and sexy, doesn't mean she wants you talking about it later that evening in good company.

Sam swirled her shallow glass,

"So why Jedi? You don't seem completely uptight?"

[member="Antares Windu"]

"I wouldn't be surprised." He said with a straight face, though it soon broke out into a soft smile.

"If you say so Sam Jhovna." He replied with his own shrug.

He was still new to things such as this...Socializing in a public place, but he couldn't help to speak his mind sometimes. Perhaps even take things too far. He was still young after all.

"I could ask the same of you." He said with a single eyebrow raising up in question. "I always wanted to be a Jedi."

"Impressive. I know lots of people who wouldn't mind being a Jedi. They just don't have the talent for it. I guess that makes you a one-in-a-million kinda guy. Hehe."

She swirled her drink and sipped away. Scanning the restaurant for any familiar faces. She didn't notice anything in particular.

"Master Grayson was your Master, wasn't she? ...I love that woman. So strong and brave. Wish I could be just like her. ...What's she like up close. In person, I mean?"

Sam turned and leaned on the bar. Now that she had Windu alone, she could pick his mind.

[member="Antares Windu"]

"It's not as glorifying as it seems from the holo-films." He said with an amused look in his eyes. When he wasn't training, teaching, he was watching films about past Jedi in the galaxy. The Jedi Order may not have concrete evidence of what the Jedi were like hundreds of years ago because of the plague, but there was no reason old holo-films and holo-dramas would be forgotten and lost, right?

"Master Grayson was my Master." He said with a nod of his head. "A short Padawanship." He added needlessly. "She is kind, and wouldn't lie to you, I think. Quite secretive however."

Perhaps he hadn't given a lot of information, but he hadn't spent plenty of time with Kiskla Grayson. Even when he was a Knight he saw her significantly less.

Antares specifically remembered telling her as a Padawan that he would be her shield if there was any danger. It was obvious she would never need it. At least from a Padawan.

"Why do you ask?"

[member="Sam Jhovna"]

Sam blinked,

"Because I think she makes an excellent role model. The more you know, right?"

She shrugged. Kinda surprised he didn't share more. Maybe she really was that secretive. Either way, it was disappointing.

"Oh well. All good things come in time, I suppose."

She leaned back against the counter and mused thoughtfully. Maybe one day she could be that cool.

[member="Antares Windu"]

"The more you know." He repeated.

"You will get better information from herself I believe." He nodded his head as if to emphasize his point.

"So do you come to nightclubs often? And why?"

[member="Sam Jhovna"]

She seemed surprised he asked. Kinda figured him for a kindred spirit. Guess not.

"Why? Why wouldn't everybody? ...I mean. It's not really a Jedi thing to do, sure. But there are billions of people on this world who know how to cut loose when it pleases them. I suppose not everybody gets their kicks just from swords and prayers and stuff."

It was kinda common sense to Sam. 99.9% of the galaxy knew how to have fun. It was the poor superheroes with their laser swords who seemed to miss the point.

"I suppose I just try not to judge too much. Every Jedi Master thinks they can judge the nations for right and wrong. I just prefer to enjoy life on it's own terms. I guess I don't think my opinion counts for much in this big universe. That's all."

She wasn't saying it to be humble. Sam wasn't humble. She just knew that the world wasn't fair. And she kinda didn't care either way.

[member="Antares Windu"]

"I had never really thought about that." He said with a shrug of his shoulders. She was quite the intelligent Padawan, but it was obvious she had been doing what she was doing for years now.

Antares could only imagine as to what she did with the hundreds of men that she had met in the past.

"You shouldn't generalize all the Jedi Masters like that. I'm certain not every single one of them judges nations, and if they do, they certainly have a reason." He said with a soft smile. "As you have a reason to come to nightclubs and get your grind on."

[member="Sam Jhovna"]

Now he was getting annoying. Preaching to the choir in response to his own question. Pretty sure he enjoyed that dance.

She turned and frowned,

"Why are you here again?"

[member="Antares Windu"]

He sensed her hostility and he answered bluntly, "you invited me." And that was all he offered in response.

[member="Sam Jhovna"]

She shook her head. Not what she wanted to hear.

"Mm. Look, it's obvious you don't respect me. Probably my own fault, but still. Keep the lectures to the Jedi Temple halls. I didn't invite you out here to get a lesson in how to talk about Jedi Masters. We're not friends and out here, you're not the Instructor. ...That's why I come here."

Sam turned towards the dance floor and gave him a cold shoulder.

"Enjoy your evening Knight Windu."

[member="Antares Windu"]

Antares turned in his chair and he called out to [member="Sam Jhovna"], "Sam wait." He frowned.

He could only wonder why he was doing this.

He walked up to her and said, "I'm sorry, I'm not too good speaking with women, obviously."
