If Antares hadn't figured it out by now, ...He was dealing with an Alpha Female here. She'd been through high school, college, and a tremendous amount of adult relationships. She didn't play games. Sam was straight to the point. Younger men and women found it intimidating. Older men and women called it a relief.

"I'm not sure where your going with this, but yeah. Probably."

She bladed her eyes and raised an eyebrow,

"Your kinda a weird one. You know that? I don't think I've ever met a Jedi Knight quite like you. Or ever, really."

[member="Antares Windu"]

"I was trying to ask you if you wanted to dance with me after." He said bluntly, almost as if his words were filled with boredom.

"I'm certain you're not the first to say something like that." Shrugging his shoulders, he looked around again and then he looked at Sam again. "Is that bad?"

"Oh I know what you were doing. I was just wondering why, to myself."

She pursed her lips and seemed puzzled. It wasn't that Antares was not a hot momma. He was a 12 out of 10 when it came to human males. Even had an impressive butt on himself. But he lacked that poetic finesse that Sam had experienced in other Jedi males of higher ranking. Truthfully, she was kinda having a hard time seeing them as anything more than sparring mates right now.

"Look. Your a nice guy and probably a swell Jedi Combatant. But your not what I'm looking for in a one-night stand. So. Let's keep our dancing to the sparring room yeah? I think that would be more professional for the both of us. More neutral. More... Jedi'."

Sadly, it was the same spiel she'd given to the rest of the Jedi boys who asked for her attentions too. They should just stick to the sororities and the incoming freshmen. Sam needed a real man. Not another twist in the straw. But that all came after her Jedi duties too. ...Just wasn't enough time to sort it all.

You had said you weren't sure.

He thought to himself, though he didn't dare utter those words aloud. He didn't need her to storm off again.

"I understand what you're trying to say...But you are the least Jedi, Jedi I know." He said with a frown and he waited for the outburst.

"That is the nicest compliment I've had all night."

She smiled. It was so awesome to finally be appreciated. She took such grand efforts to attempt to remain normal. All of these weekend retreats. All of the boyfriends and girlfriends on the side. Even changed her diet. But only a touch. All in the vain attempt to be less... Jedi-like. At least somebody had noticed.

"I'm glad somebody around this Temple finally noticed. Thought I was invisible for a second there. Hehe. Thank you."

[member="Antares Windu"]

And she says I'm weird?

Antares frowned to himself, and he offered the smallest smile that he had the whole night. It was a half-hearted attempt. Barely anything put into it.

"I'm certain a lot of people noticed. They just haven't said anything. Must be too nervous around a beautiful woman." He said almost nonchalantly. The first compliment of the night. Probably the last one after what she had said previously about him not being worthy of a 'one night stand.'

Might as well say it anyway then.

"I think the only one who is nervous here, is you. Hehe."

She smirked and waved away the comment. It obvious. As a wise witch once said: There are two things that men are always willing to believe about a woman. One, that she is weak. And two, that she finds him attractive.

Men. ...Such gullible fools.

"Besides. The galaxy is full of beautiful women. I'm sure you'll do fine. ...Kinda surprised you haven't scored a wife already really? How often do you work out anyway? Like every day. ...Yeah. I'll bet that ass of yours could fit perfectly into any woman's long fingered grip."

She mused,

"You sure you haven't had much luck with women? I think you're just trying to lead me on. Hehe."

[member="Antares Windu"]

"Probably." He admitted and chuckled softly.

She could make fun of him if she wanted, it wouldn't affect him that much. As she had said before, they weren't friends. She spoke as if they were friends though.

Curious.

"You seem to enjoy talking about how I haven't had much luck with women, but this one night stand isn't happening, so why?" He raised an eyebrow with a curious look on his face.

"A tease, maybe?"

Ah. He wanted an explanation now. She felt like a teacher already.

"It's called hypocrisy. And maybe a little bit of opposites attracting? I don't know. What I do know, is that I'm a city girl who wants a nice guy. But nice guys don't want city girls. Nope. Nice guys want nice girls. Funny because, city girls don't want city boys either. ...So I guess I'm just stumped. And will probably be single forever. Ugh."

She playfully sighed. Her standards didn't make any sense. It was true. Sam was a woman ungoverned by reason. Alas, women. Or maybe it was the vodka talking. Hard to tell right now...

"Oh. Yeah. And sorry about the one-night stand thing. I guess your just not my type."

She shrugged. It was becoming pretty obvious they were a horrible match. Sam couldn't stop thinking about Heavenshield and Antares couldn't stop thinking about... Um. Whatever it was that Antares was thinking about.

She shook her head. She didn't want to know.

[member="Antares Windu"]

"I'm stupid." He suddenly said. He was stumped. He definitely didn't understand at all.

"You're a city girl. I consider myself a 'nice guy,' and city girls want nice girls...But nice guys don't want city girls?" He was so confused it was unbelievable. Life was so much easier when it was about whoever could kill the other first. At least he knew what that meant.

"It looks like we're both the exception. Funny enough, if we're not each other's types, who are we to be with if not each other?"

It was probably 1+1, but in Antares's mind it was a lot more complicated than simply addition.

She laughed,

"Your not a nice guy. That's your problem. Hehe."

Ahh. But the simple joys of calling someone on their shit. Like brothers wrestling over lost toys. It was priceless. They needed to do these dinners more often.

"Your that guy who's really just a dude, but thinks he's a nice guy. But really just wants to get into a woman's pants and call it a day. I got you. I got you. I know. Hehe. ...It's not this princesses first rodeo."

She smiled and relaxed back into her seat. What a strange evening it had been. She kinda liked it.

Antares frowned.

"I would argue with you, but the fact is, I am a nice guy."

He gave her his most charming smile, it was like a boyish grin. The type of grin that made women's knee's puddles. But he doubted it'd work here, in this sort of situation, it was more of a tease and mocking her.

"If I am like that, then you are the exact same. Just the female version." He said with a challenging look in his eyes. "And a city girl." He added shortly after. "If it was your first rodeo, I wouldn't have blamed you if you left already."

"Deal."

She smiled and stretched her arms out to encompass her sitting area. Like the queen of the castle, she reigned.

"You be the nice guy. And I'll be the city girl. ...And where's my food damn it!?"

Ah yes. The important things in life. Enough chit-chat. It was time to eat.

"Waiter? Waiter? Can't a girl get any service around here. Sheesh."

[member="Antares Windu"]

Be the nice guy.

He repeated the words in his head, and almost chuckled at her first words. "Relax, Sam. The food is coming." He said gently, she didn't have to be so wild.

There was the food! He saw their waiter coming along with their food and he gave her a sidelong glance as if to say you can stop complaining now, but with a teasing grin on his face.

"He's coming, right there." He even decided to point to show her.

He extended his legs out, then he realized he might just kick her legs, so he stopped just before he did and sat up straight.

Better to look proper, right?

"Ugh. Good. Vodka soda on a pickle stomach is fine, but this girl is hun'g'rey. Mm."

She rubbed her palms together and dug in when the food was served. Sam felt so much better with a little soup n salad in her.

"How's the fish?"

[member="Antares Windu"]

"You're different." He said just as the waiter left. He was certain most women wouldn' t speak in such a way around those they barely knew. But she spoke her mind. He had to respect that.

Picking up his utensils, he began digging into his own food. For something he had never eaten, he enjoyed it.

"It's good." He confirmed. "How about you?" He asked shortly after.

He waited until she answered before he said, "so why the Jedi? Sorry, I'm curious."

She talked and ate casually now. Food seemed to calm the party beast inside of her.

"It's good. ...The Jedi, you ask? Probably because my father asked me to."

Sam nodded and took another bite. Pausing to finish before continuing.

"My mom and dad are both merchants. Owners, but you get the idea. When I manifested my first potential sensitivities my father was gloriously happy for me. He said that I was different and that I should capitalize upon this opportunity to make the most of my powers. So I did."

She pulled a napkin to her lips and pressed.

"I'll give it three more years before going back home. Take up may place running the advertising team and enjoy the change of pace. I'll probably be more normal then, than ever before. Who knows? I try not to plan that far ahead."

[member="Antares Windu"]

She was full of surprises. A truly interesting woman. He hadn't expected because her father asked. But what could he have thought?

"Three more years? I will expect to see your name everywhere then." He said with a joking smile. "I'll have to put it on a calendar."

It was a joke. He could only hope she laughed.

"So advertisements? You will be in them and persuade people to buy your merchandise with your good looks and charm?"

[member="Sam Jhovna"]

She shrugged,

"No. Not really. It's not really appropriate to throw your daughter into advertisements as a glamour model. I'd just help organize the corporate agenda back at the offices. Modeling has never been a priority for me. It's invasive and offers no bio-medical privacy. Not to mention it's shallow at times and prone to fades and alien tastes."

Then she looked up and sized up Antares,

"But I might ask you to model one day. Hehe. Yeah... We'd throw you in a motorcycle jacket and put a girl on your arm. Picture perfect. The fans would love it."

She twirled her spoon as she said it. Musing like the director of some evil corporation bent on Windu's instant viral success. Mughahaha.

[member="Antares Windu"]

"I see." He replied and he bit some of the fish off of the fork and chewed it before swallowing. The fish was actually good, it had been so unexpected, but it was.

"I might have to decline in that case. Jedi Knight turned male model? Better if I stayed a Jedi Knight." He said with a nod that backed up his words.

"Have you always wanted to work for your family?"
