"Stop it. Right now." She said, coldly as the voice continued to talk in such happiness, which was pretty rude but she felt like she had to do it. Why she was bothering so much for this, she didn't know. She would already go her way and ignore the voice knowing that wasn't real or trying to trick her, yet something was stopping her. Something in the voice, that called her attention, that was so familiar and mysterious that was making Nima very curious to find out. She took a breathe, and then called again, keeping her calm, and staying cold. "I am leaving. Don't talk to me anymore. I can't help you, and I don't want to play your games." The voice was completely silent again... She took a step and two. Breathing, and calming herself down, slowly leaving this cursed place. The voice, one last time, spoke. The tone wasn't happy anymore. Yet wasn't sad either. It was just... distant. "Only one game. Then I won't bother you again." She felt very bad, hearing the same voice in so different tone, yet she didn't stop moving towards the exit. "Please." She stopped. Her heart started to beat like crazy, but she stopped. She was silent, just stood there. Why... Why did it work... this easily? She stood silent. The voice called again, with same happines as before. Talk about the mood switches. "You are still very cold." She took a breath. "One game."
Saying that with a sigh, she started to walk towards the depths of the tomb, listening to the voice, letting it guide her around and find the owner of the voice, to win the game and be done with it. Curiousity was a big aspect to this journey, yet she was doing it for something else as well... The voice, this whole conversation... It... gave her headache. Yeah, gave her a headache. Nothing more, nothing less. She took a breath again, the game continued and continued as she ventured between one tomb to another, hoping to find something after all this. At least the spirit was having fun, guiding her and joking around. One thing was sure, the journey started by the curiousity was starting to look like a game slowly as the frown turned into a happy smile. A flashing image, and the headache followed as she almost lost her balance. "Are... are you doing this?..."
Silence.
Just one more game. Then I won't bother you again.
A little child holding a woman by the robes, excitedly pulling it.
All too familiar...
Huh... No no no... Stay careful. "Getting very warm." The voice said as seconds passed, it sounded excited. Very excited. She was about to uncover what this was all about soon, but same excitement couldn't be read from Nima. She was... She didn't know what she felt right now. She was just... She stopped caring about what she was feeling, since emotions were always a problem for her. It was her only goal to finish the game, and that was it. She would leave. But, call it a sense, she thought this wouldn't be the case. She continued walking towards that one tomb. She knew... somehow... the answer was there. The finish line of the game. Was it sad... Why wasn't she smiling, she won the game. She knew why. "Is that it?... Are you there?" She asked. "Still haven't found me yet." The voice called. "Open the tomb..." The moment of truth, was coming quickly. She stood there. Unsure about what to do. She was scared. Not because of the thing could be a trap, but she knew she wasn't going to like what was about to happen. Holding her hand on the very uncomfortable looking bed. "I am not sure." She said, "I don't like this." She added... her voice was still calm, but a bit shaky. "You can do it." The voice reassured the girl. "Don't you want to know what you will find out here?"
Yes, I do. She didn't say that last words. Taking a deep breath, she did it... Her heart was about to explode from the curiousity... Slowly extending the tomb's lid, she landed it away from it, and looked inside. There was a Twi'lek woman, still not decomposed. Her lightsaber standing in her hands, she looked like she was just... sleeping... Flashing images came back, as she looked at her face, and started to sob. "So..." She said... then tears followed. She didn't know why. She didn't remember, didn't remember her face, who was this woman, or anything resembled her. Then why was she crying? Maybe the peaceful state she was in, even though she was dead by long... Maybe... no... She knew it wasn't the reason. "So... did I win the game?" What a stupid question to ask. But she didn't know what to say. And the voice was probably confused too, by her crying. Then she felt a presence just behind of her. "You still... don't remember me?... Nima?" She turned towards the voice. The woman inside the tomb, was standing right in front of her...
"I was little back then.
Several years ago.
I had a very happy family.
A big family.
Things were good, I had my sisters right beside me. I was happy."
"No..."
"Then I grew up a little.
The kids would bully me a lot.
But I knew that my family would protect me.
I love them."
"I..." More tears came up. The voice... it was silent. She was silent.
"My father was always busy.
He always would go on a trip, never told what it was about.
We would go to that cave to spend the day with my sisters.
I miss him.
I wish he was here."
She started to have a headache...
"My mother was kind.
She always had the time to play with us.
Even though she had work like my father.
I would always get one more game.
I loved my mother so much."
"I am sorry."
"Stop it.
I don't want to hurt anyone.
I don't want to be like you.
Father slapped me.
I cried.
Mother was there. With my sisters.
They saw it. Saw him slapping me.
They had a big fight.
She left our home.
Because of me."
Six years of her life, slowly coming back to her head as she couldn't stop crying. "I am sorry, mother."
"Father got more violent.
He was a Sith after all.
He wanted us to obey him.
He had this cold room.
Said he wouldn't let us out until we learned our lesson.
I hate the cold."
She wanted to hug her. But she couldn't hug a voice.
"Mom came back...
She didn't leave us with him.
She would protect us whenever we did something wrong.
We weren't doing anything wrong."
"She disappeared..."
"A year passed.
Everything went to black..."
"She is dead." The images stopped coming. She couldn't endure it anymore, and collapsed to the ground crying.
"Don't cry, Nima. I simply wanted to say hello to my daughter. It has been a long time. I missed you. I missed all of you." The voice... her tone...
"I am... sorry."
"Don't be. It wasn't your fault. I am glad you are alive after that blaster shot. You remembered, right?"
"... He killed you..."
"It has been done. Don't beat yourself for it." With a happy tone, then silence. The voice continued, it was... she was slowly fading away from existence. "Listen to me." She came closer. "I don't have many regrets in this life. You three are the best thing that happened to me." A quick stop. "Loving him was a mistake. I knew it. We were different. Very different. I cared, he didn't. I left my orders as a Sith aside, and loved my family. He loved his job. I wanted you all to have a good life. He wanted you to become what he was. I interfered. I fought with him. I bluffed, said he would have to kill me if he wanted to make you become like him. I knew he wouldn't kill me. He did. I was wrong." She said, the spirit was smiling. "Though looking back... I am glad I chose him. He is the reason you are all my children now. I watched you all, see what you've become... I am proud."
How she wanted to hug her, but she continued crying.
Silence.
"He buried me here with all these disgusting spirits, bound my spirit here by dark powers. Didn't let me to have a good sleep." She laughed. "With my own lightsaber. He had a good sense of humour."
"Don't say that."
"He had though. That's why I loved him. Nima..."
"Yes..?"
"Take the lightsaber. As a parting gift."
"But... but that would kill you!" She protested. She didn't have the strength to do it after having their reunion.
"I am already dead, Nima... It will just allow me to sleep peacefully. Don't you want to... help me?"
"It has to be another way... I can't... I just can't."
"There is no other way. You know that." She came closer. She hugged Nima, she didn't feel the presence, but she was there. It made her... happy.
"I want to help..." She stopped. "I'll... If... it will make you... happy...."
"Good. You know what to do." She nodded. Her whole body was shaking. Her hand didn't want to remove the lightsaber from her mother's grasp. But she did it. The spirit faded slowly, with a smile. Nima wanted to reach, but couldn't manage to hold her.
"Tell your sisters your mother is very proud. And... tell them... I love.... you all..."
She disappeared.
"Goodbye..."
She, her mother's tomb, and loneliness.
