Taeli Raaf
Bookworm
Location: Bridge of Project Bastion
Objective: Ruin some slavers' and pirates' day
Allies: [member="Solan Charr"] [member="Vulpesen"] [member="Sabrina Kotass"] [member="Rexus Drath"] [member="Tricia"] [member="Zander Greyson"]
Target Practice: [member="Sempra the Hutt"] (sorry!) [member="Flannigan Mcnash"] [member="Ka-Aver"]
(OOC note: this post only applies to the people in orbit)
"We will be dealing with the surface installations once we deal with the fleet elements present," Taeli replied to Vulps, looking at the tactical display lighting up in front of her. Nothing bigger than a frigate . . . excellent. "I have stuff to test before testing how accurate our orbital strikes are."
Targeting reticles began to appear around the lead slaver and pirate ships. None of her other ships would open fire on them unless the Bastion came under threat. She had no idea this operation was being run by the Cartel, but if she was perfectly honest with herself, she wouldn't have cared even if she did know.
Over the comm, she heard Solan's message and just had to fight a sigh. Honestly, sometimes she wondered about him.
"I think we can safely say I'm not fallen anymore, Solan," she said, her eyes racing over the display. Seemed they caught the enemy napping. Oh how . . . unprofessional.
"In long-range of the lead elements of the pirates, ma'am," a Vitae captain said.
"Activate the interdiction field . . . and open fire."
"Yes ma'am."
As the Bastion's interdiction field activated, the long-range turbolaser batteries selected the targets. The gunners were using the newest targeting system developed for Aurora ships of this size and Taeli needed to see how well they would perform. Another second passed . . . then brilliant streams of red energy began lancing out through space at several enemy ships. They wouldn't hold out very long against such a barrage, not ships of their class.
