Private Sly on the Inside

Thief of Thieves. Ninja Master.
The Vulptex stared for a moment, their head shifting to look to their master for guidance.

He simply nodded, causing the Vulptex to nod in return, looking back to Tallara Tallara

"Follow me then."

And with that, they leapt off the speeder, their scarf whistling in the wind, before suddenly a zipline launched out from their coat. If this spy wanted to recruit them, they'd have to keep up with them. The Vulptex was, after all, applying for the job. If Tallara Tallara was really watching, then the Vulptex would show off as much they could.

Tallara stamped her foot twice on the transport's back. "Sorry. Bad read. Later, Dev."

She leapt off in pursuit, following closely behind. The two thieves didn't make it easy, but she managed to keep pace, exerting herself to match them, if not in grace then at least in speed.

At a long stretch of rooftop-running, she pushed herself a little more to get next to the apprentice. "How long have you lived here? Just curious."

"All my life." That was vague enough not to give a real answer. "I know these buildings better than some of the people who live in them."

She instinctively vaulted over an AC unit, before suddenly falling into an alleyway below, as if to purposely not give Tallara Tallara the chance to continue that line of questioning.

The rest of the trip was winding. Dipping through an abandoned cafe, venturing through an unused speeder tunnel, running across a maintenance hall to a building, before finally....a drop. Deep into the depths of the slums of Coruscant.

They finally arrived, a set of long abandoned buildings, derelict and left to rot within the cityscape. Some looked older, and the design seemed to be Atrisian in nature. Finally, Vulptex suddenly dipped into a garage, looking around, and seeing if Tallara Tallara was still behind her.

Before finally pulling off both her mask, and the wig that came with it. This was not the girl she had seen before at the jewelry store, but a brown haired girl that seemed to let out a sigh, and grab a water from a small minifridge in the garage.

The girl looked to her spymaster, offering her the mask to inspect.

The mask seemed to have a set of straps on the back that were hidden by the wig, made of leather and fabric. Low tech as possible. Little bits of Velcro held it to the wig. The inside was lined with basic wiring, and the eyes were a set of night vision goggles that she seemed to have stolen off the black market.

"Rule sixteen. Don't rely on fancy tech. It's unreliable and breaks when you need it."

That got a chuckle as she led them inside. The house was a very old artisian house, the girl smirking. "Rule One: Be smart about it. Rule Two: The shadows are your friend. Rule Three: Stay high. Most people don't look up."

Into a hallway she led them, where they eventually met another girl. The blonde from earlier.

"Rule Seven. Psychology." The blonde stated. "People expect you to look one way. Let them. They never expect more than one Fox."

Into a living room, they found another girl. A blue haired humanoid who seemed to be tinkering with something. "Rule thirteen: Use whatever you can. Everything is a weapon if you're clever enough."

"Evening." She tipped an invisible hat.

"Seems a little contradictory. With rule sixteen, I mean." She made herself at home, taking a peek at the object being tinkered by the tinkerer. "You come up with these rules yourselves?"

In the girl's hand was a small grenade-esque device, seeming to be half a disassembled thermal detonator with bits and pieces from other tech. "Don't rely on doesn't mean don't use." The blue haired girl pointed out. "Big fancy tech is all nice to have, but in our line of work, it's better to have something simple that you know works when you need it than something you wasted your money on that doesn't."

The blonde smiled. "Our master did. He's a bit of an old school Atrisian in how he runs himself as a Shadow."

"He took us all in." The brunette spoke up. "I take it you'll want our names next then?"

"Quite right," she said.

Hearing about a Jedi 'taking in' children wasn't exactly new, but it still felt strange. She'd never gotten a read on them.

"I've got your chain codes and IDs," she said. "But I'm assuming you've had them changed or forged, so go ahead. And, you can call me Tallara."

"Sam."

"Lyra."

"Beatrix."

The three spoke one after another, sounding off as if in a military role call.

"And you'd be right on the chain codes and IDs. Lyra makes a habit of changing them every other week."

"You'd be surprised how easy that is." The girl smirked. "There's also one more of us. Alex. He's out and about right now. And before you ask, no last names. We don't have 'em. Both figuratively, and legally. Whatever they were before, I've made damn sure they aren't in any system in in GA space."

"Who we were before doesn't matter." The Brunette added. "But we're on board to help you. Master wants us to do something more than just petty theft from criminals. We figure this is a good start."
