Snacks and destruction don't mix well

"On it." Once Scarlet finished the first model, she did a few tapping motions with her finger, and a duplicate sprung into place right alongside the original. "Now, are you intending to have them both exactly alike, or different in some way?"

I watched as the model of the gun sprang apart into two identical guns. Each of them perfect. I smiled as she asked if I wanted them the same or different. I had an idea on what they would look like I had an image of what they would look like. I offered my hands towards the machine. "If you don't mind." I set my hands on the controls and worked to figure out how it would look. The hologram solidified to get the scope of how it would look. I set to work on changing the colors of the guns to be opposite of each other, but somehow they looked the same. it had the illusion of looking like twins, but when you looked closely they would be exact opposites. "Just like that."

Scarlet smirked as he took control of the hologram, watching him work it. "You learn fast. I like that about you. The pistols should be fairly easy to make. As for the color, we can either use different metals for each, or I have some really resistant spray paint. It doesn't ever get scratched, no matter what you do. Used it for my scythe." She patted her scythe gently.

Smiling I nodded my head as I took my hands off the controls. "Call me a nerd if you will, I work fast so then I can play longer." I smirked at her. I knew what I meant by play longer but she might think something else. I looked at her as she spoke. Ether I could use different materials or I could use a highly resistant paint. I nodded my head to her as she spoke. "I'll take the paint if you don't mind sharing some?"

"Play, huh? Scarlet chuckled and gave him a wink before continuing. "Yea, you can use some paint. I still have red, grey, black and silver from my last job. I'll help you build the pistols, then we can paint them!" She smiled happily. Building anything, especially weapons really brought her out of her shell. She was excited to begin.

Smiling as I spoke. "sounds good to me." I stopped myself and looked over at the benches. "We gonna make them here?" I kept in mind that this world was different from my home. Even a small room like this could be easily used for building a suit of armor. But hey, We were making guns here.

"I suppose we could. She looked around, judging whether it was possible or not. "Yea! Just give me a few minutes, and I'll turn this room into a construction zone. Now move, I'll call you when it's ready." She playfully pushed him, though it was more of a nudge than a push.

I smiled as Scarlet pushed me out of the little room outside as she was going to change the room into a proper workshop. I smiled as the door closed behind me. Taking my time I waled a few feet away to sit on a box that would contain something hard. Pulling out my dagger I looked to see if there was any damage done to it. seeing that nothing was wrong I smiled Trying to figure out the real name for the weapon.

Scarlet fluttered around the room, picking this up, placing that there. The only hard part was setting up the actual work table. Twenty minutes later, she called out, "Alright, come on in!" She smiled as she looked around the room. It was now completely clear, with a large work table in the middle. On the table she had placed a plasma cutter, welder, and durasteel scraps.

With the call coming from inside the ship. I walked in to see tools set up and some metal scraps. I walked up to her and shook my head slightly. "Nice office." I looked around to see some of the items that were out were put up randomly and in other places than what I would have thought. I stopped and leaned over the metal pieces and smiled. "Well lets start workin." I said out loud while grabbing a plasma cutter.

Scarlet brought up a smaller holo projector, which showed the replica of the pistols. That in front of her, she began working on one of them. Silently at work, she took a cutter and began rapidly making the pieces as she went along.

At first I didn't do anything. Just watched as Scarlet started to cut the pieces so she could work with something. Taking the torch I turned it on with a pop followed by a crackle of orange flame. Toning it down I got the flame to look a nice clear blue and set to work doing the same. Every few seconds I would look from the metal and tool in my hand to see if I was cutting it right. I kept looking at the clock every so often to see that time seemed to fly by. About an hour later we had all of the pieces cut down to how we needed them.

Now is the part where we put them together."

Taking my time I took the cut parts of the pistol and pieced them together like a 3-D jigsaw puzzle. As I was going to start welding some of the pieces together I looked around for something to protect my eyes. I saw off to the side a face mask with a very dark, almost black, visor. Reaching for it I grabbed a hold and placed it on my head. I could hardly see anything in the mask, but when I turned on the welding tool. The entire world lit up before me. Smiling I started at one end of the pieces and worked my way across. I tried to get smooth welds as it would be easier to refine and take out the bumps in it.

Scarlet looked around for her mask, to see that Zack was already using it. Smirking, she sat back and waited patiently for him to finish so she could build the other gun. Watching him, the girl began to notice more about him. First, that he had a very different demeanor and stature than anyone she had ever seen, which was interesting. Sitting down, she propped her head on her hands and watched him closely.

Piecing together the parts I was completely focused on how careful I was with the welder. However, I could feel eyes watching me. I knew that it was Scarlet so I was fine and I let it pass. I could hear everything as the squeak in a chair as the woman changed position. Still I kept my eyes on the task at hand. Once I was done piecing the parts together I had created the frame to fit perfectly in my hand. I put the welder down and took off the helm to be sat on the table. Ready for the next part.

As soon as he was done, Scarlet hopped back up and appeared next to him. Picking up the helmet, she smiled at him. "My turn." She then donned the helmet, pulled down the visor, and got to work. She first started with the main handle, then worked her way up to the trigger mechanism, the barrel, and eventually the slide. It took her about twice as long to build it as it took Zack. However, this wasn't because she wasn't skilled, but simply that she was taking her time to enjoy her handiwork. The girl always put her very best effort into projects. In fact, she got so into it that when she was done, she did what was customary for all of her creations: She engraved her signature logo onto the side of it, right in the middle of the grip. Once she realized this, she paled slightly. "I uh... hope you don't mind.... hehe."

I could only marvel at how she took her time. It seemed as though every part if it was perfect. SHe worked on it that I believe that I saw smoke rising from her head in concentration. As she worked I wondered how a girl that was this small and young to be skilled in making weapons and fighting. Still I took this as a time for me to look her over better.

She was a young girl that was obviously rambunctious and wild, but yet I had a feeling that there was something underneath her skin that was more than what she showed. Her dress mocked her body flawlessly as though it were made for her. As I assumed that it was. Even then I watched her hands move over the tools like a well oiled machine. She started to get alittle intricate and left to her own little world as she started to engrave a rose on the side of the gun. She apologized and I was half tempted to take it off. Thats when an idea hit me. If I was going to be in this world. I needed a name that would get me farther than 'Zackery" Even so. I smiled.

"No that looks great. Let me do something to it though." I set aside the half built gun and moved to the other side. I plucked the mask from her head and placed it on mine. I slowly took the tool from her hands and continued to work on it. Only instead of the pistol having the head of a rose, I lengthened it to be broader and have a stem with two leaves on ether side. The stem reached all the way down to the grip. Smiling I lifted the mask off my face. Saying only two words. "Dark Rose."

Scarlet grinned as Zack put his own touch to the weapon. "I love it. It suits you." Overlooking the pistol, she repeated the words. "Dark Rose. Hey, did you know that my nickname is Rose? Maybe we could go on some superhero spree! I can see it now." She assumed a position very much like a reporter. "'Late last night, the two vigilantes known as the Black Rose and the Scarlet Rose clean the city streets once again! Who are these two? Where did they come from? And are they truly on our side?" She spun around and laughed at the thought.

I could only laugh at the thought of us working together. Her with the scythe and me with twin pistols and maybe a different weapon on the way. I smiled proudly at this thought. Even if Scarlet may take it alittle to far by saying that we were some tag team of vigilantes, but that thought made my chest swell. only after the time of a few weeks did I find a place where I could work. "if we are going to do that. Then I'm gonna need some new clothes......" I left it at that as there would be time later.
