Queen of Staves
Elom
Palace Steps
Niynx Ioune Darth Carnifex Dominik Borra Katherine Holt
Lao-ta watched as the armored man and the other padawan were tossed aside by the giant sith lord. She felt the odds tipping further against them, but she would not lose hope. They could stall the dark lord and make it out of this alive. Then came the lightning. She saw it burst forth towards both herself and Niynx. She was fast. Fast enough to evade but Niynx wasn't. She dashed with force imbued speed to interpose herself between the oncoming storm and her padawan, dropping her sabers in favor of a different tactic.
Raising her palms she caught the lightning. "AAAAARRGH!" Caught was perhaps too strong a word. The crimson bolts coursed into her but she opened to the flow of the force and guided the energy through herself. She felt the unbridled hatred that powered the storm as it burned her skin scarring her arms and scorching her robes. She channeled it through her and down into the ground where it left dark scorching trails, before raising her arms again to send it cascading back at Carnifex. She was doing it. She was redirecting the lightning, but her technique was imperfect and the raw power burned its way through her as she did. She would survive this but it would leave it's mark on her.
She growled in stubborn resistance as she sent the storm back at it's origin. "What's the point Carnifex?" She gasped. Pained. "Even if you kill everyone in this palace the Sith cannot hold Elom. Nothing you do here matters. Why fight?!" She kept the power flowing as long as she could. She only needed to distract him a little longer. In desperation she reached out to her padawan with her mind, begging for help. The power was almost overwhelming her as her skin smoked and cracked.
