Spaarti Creations Auction

Bidding starts at five million credits

OOC
It's time to pass the reigns of this corporation on to more capable hands. I have had fun with it, made a successful clone army, and got a up to tier 4. But it's time focus on my other RP and not hold on to things I'm not using when there are people who will use this and have fun. Pay it forward. But that doesn't mean it will be free :p

So this is the auction for the 75% majority share holding. I do intend on keeping 5% that way I can still have access to my creations and use them in my RP, but other than that I'm keeping my fingers out of this pie.

IC
the auction is being held on Spaarti's website so via the holonet. So bid from the comfort of your homes.

Rules/info
•Auction ends monday March 28th 8am pacific (working this weekend so I won't be able to keep track of this as often as I should. So it will end Monday morning when I get off work)

•Only one canon corporation per writer

•Please keep any OOC chatter in the designated OOC thread. People who break this rule will be asked to leave the auction. Keep drama in the ooc not the IC auction.

Alric lay on the bed, his torso half hanging from the white sheets as he reached down and tapped a few keys that lay spread out before the mobile holo-terminal that sat in front of him on the ground. He let out a slight noise of interest, half a whistle that seemed to tune upward. There wasn't really much that impressed Alric Kuhn, at least not anymore, but a few things did.

"Spaarti is up for auction." He said as he tapped another key. "Or a majority's share in the company."

That wasn't what impressed Alric of course, not the sale, but rather what was for sale. Spaarti was one of the galaxies foremost experts in cloning. Vanir, the company that Alric had founded of course had a hand in cloning as well, but it was a very different type of cloning. Whereas Vanir focused on genetic manipulation and stringent perfection of its clones, Spaarti had always been more focused on teh creation of Flash clones, entire armies bred inside of a year. "Their technology could be helpful to the Preserve. Cloning the fauna we'd need."

It wasn't really something that Vanir couldn't do, but it was something that Spaarti could do faster.

Alric shrugged and keyed in a bid, no point in not doing it. [10,000,000 Galactic Credits for 70% Stake in Spaarti Creations.]

I was enjoying a strong cup of Raven Claw Tea while reading through my holostream.
Arguably a boring afternoon aboard the Retribution.
I had gained tremendous access to some funds now after securing my political position in Carida and then going on to become its Senator.
Such moves had advantages.

I came across the auction for the rights to Spaarti Creations.
I spent a few moments collating market prices and then immediately got the wire with some of the Caridan Council members of this superb opportunity.
However in that time it took to get a solid line of credit the bid had already jumped from 5.25 million to 10 in a span of a few minutes.

I moved fast and placed a bid 11,000,000 credits under the Government of Carida
There would be limits to this of course and I could only hope that whomever else was involved did not have vast wealth.

“Hmm?” Danger would give a slight stretch, both arms reaching up and over her head as she gave a soft yawn. It was an early start to their day, already enroute to Sanctum Territories to start their survey of locations to hold the meeting for the Wildlife Preserve. Alric was ever the one to awake first, and him idly reading the holonews in bed wasn’t new.

A small curving smile would draw across the redhead as she brought her arms down. Turning to her side, she shifted under the covers and slid one leg over the Tetan. Plump curves would come snuggling close, interest piqued at what he had mentioned.

“Up for auction?” There was surprise in her voice, as much as mild amusement. The history that lay in the past few months with the company was rather colorful indeed. Twin brows rose when Alric placed a bid. Hmm, Taeli still owned twenty-five percent and had been tasked to oversee the company along with the interim CEO in the wake of that clone incident.

“I thought you were takin’ a step back, Mistah Kuhn,” Danger would purr, moving up to press a kiss against his bearded jaw.

“Clonin’ species is what PharmaTech has been doing with botanicals and the Eden Project… although… Spaarti would make it go faster. If you're serious you should talk to Miss Raaf.”

Danger gave a soft exhale. Just will have to see how it goes.

“Have any of the universities replied back yet? For the preserve?”

Galven realized something, he was betting against an old acquaintance, Matsu Ike. An individual who, in the past, helped him quite a bit. He was betting against her for something that would give him power, and it all reminded him of the cause for what he was doing in the first place. He decided against betting against her, and decided to bet for her, whatever the outcome

Combine Galven Solomon's and Matsu Ike's bids

Total
  • 5 tons of Swatrium (Estimated under 4 million, all depends on the one who wants it. It just costs a ton to make)
  • 10 Stumble-class Support Frigates (Estimated around or close to 1 million, all depends)
  • 15% shares in GOMM Industrial (With access to Swatrium for any one select character)
  • 14,250,000 credits

"Oh I have no doubt we could do it now." Alric said as he watched the new bid fold in to the auction, his eyes narrowing slightly. "I think Spaarti would just speed up the process, it's what they're known for after all, dear."

Alric said the words only seconds before Danger expressed the same sentiment. "I knew there was a reason I married you."

He smiled slightly, drumming his fingers on the edge of the holo-terminal for a moment before settling his gaze on Danger. They both knew the value of Spaarti, and they certainly knew what the company would be capable of doing, though truthfully Alric had no actual interest in the company itself, rather, it's technology. Spaarti cylinders were something of a mystery even now, and if Vanir and Pharmatech could learn how the technology functioned...well it would be a great boon to both corporations, not to mention Danger and Alric's wild life preserve project.

"I am taking a step back, but that doesn't mean I can't see an opportunity when it comes knocking on my door. Especially when it helps with the preserve. I'll contact Nel, perhaps she'd like to hire me to represent Vanir Technologies in this little bidding war." He smiled slightly, already knowing the answer in that.

Another bid was quickly sent out. [25,000,000 Galactic Standard Credits]

Taeli was staring at two triangular holocrons when her datapad pinged, disrupting her thoughts and bringing her back to reality. Quickly stowing them away in her private safe, she looked at the message that had appeared. An auction for Spaarti Creations shares that had been Patricia's and had become ... well she wasn't supposed to speak ill of a colleague. It was always so nice to actually be told something like this was coming, but then she supposed it shouldn't be too surprising as she was only overseeing things in an advisory capacity.

Looking through the bid list, she noticed a certain former CEO of two major companies had expressed interest, along with Mr. Solomon, Commodore Flavian, and Master Ike. She had no plans to increase her shares in the company, 25 was enough for her and allowed her access to the technology the company had. Still, she knew the company needed a strong hand to guide it into the future and away from the old controversies, so she wrote up a bid to support another current bid.

Martika Varta

Senator, Umbara; Committee on Civics & Infrastruct
Martika Varta glanced away from his datatablet to listen to the update his aide had to share with him in regards to the bidding on Spaarti. "Raaf just posted a bid for forty million, sir." His aide whispered. Martika nodded. "Seems it is time we entered the arena. Thank you, K'cenza, I will run the number by the appropriations committee." Waving the aide away, Martika used his datatablet to send a quick message to the other members of the Senate Appropriations Committee. Within minutes he was provided a majority response in favor of placing a bid. The suggestions ranged between ten and twenty million above Raaf's offer price, and Martika felt it best to keep the numbers low for the time being in the face of the large numbers of bidders.
Martika connected with the corporation's holosite and placed their bid:

ADM. Reshmar

Directorate Officer Fleet Admiral SJC 3rd Fleet
Reshmar sat drinking a fine port from his homeworld. Good drink from Mon Calamari was hard to find Not because they did not make it, but because that which was made generally was produced in such small quantities it was pricey and generally stayed in private collections. A chirp on his desk forced him to glance over at the data now scrolling down the screen. He read over the data and sat up concentrating on what he was reading.

"Interesting" Reshmar said as he opened up a link which, lead him to the auction Taeli Raaf had just bid upon. Spartii was up for auction, that was indeed interesting. The Intergalactic Banking Clan had set up the financial monitoring for the Directorate when they had become shareholders in the organization. While each separate entity in the Directorate was free to its own commerce the collective owners had agreed to stay on top of what the organization's individual entities were doing. Aurora's support of [member="Alric Kuhn"] made sense to Reshmar as he looked over the other parties bidding on the company. Aurora had a large share in the company and Taeli's interests would be best protected if Kuhn was to be victorious in winning the auction. Reshmar watched the next bid and decided for the good of Aurora and the Directorate He too must support Alric Kuhn's bid for the company. He opened up a second window looking over Mon Calamari Shipyards current financial statement. They had surplus but much of it was currently tied up in prototypes and development for the new MC line. Still, he felt a need to support Taeli and Kuhn. He opened a channel and types up a supporting bid.

Mon Calamari Shipyards wishes to add 10,000,000 credits in support of [member="Alric Kuhn"] 25,000,000 and [member="Taeli Raaf"] 15,000,000 bids.

“You mean besides my robust qualities?”’ Danger would state with a cheeky grin. A wicked gleam caught in her vibrant green eyes as she rolled over on top of his back, regarding the elder Tetan with an amused grin.

The mobile holoterminal gave a series of beeps in alerts; likely new bids. But that could wait for the moment, as she teasingly hovered over his shoulder with a smirk.

“I reckon you do make a distinguished character… perhaps I can use you as the new face of Arceneau Trade,” her throaty chuckle would resonate through the room as the Queen of Trade enjoyed herself from her perch.

Another boop and she gave a sigh, staring down to review the bids. Surprise would widen them, along with a mammaquatia of amusement behind the Tetan.

“Perhaps you should contact MIss Raaf, Mistah Kuhn,” her honeyed voice would drawl out as she motioned to the mobile holo-terminal.

“Seems she and the Directorate are happy to help you with your bid.” A small tap of her finger would reflect on the screen.

“You got yourself some support there, Mistah Kuhn.” her eyes would twinkle. A shimmy and she brought herself down to kiss his shoulder.

“Care for some tea? We can talk more about that preserve and what critters to clone.” A pause. “You looking to try and bring back extinct species?”

Now there was a thought. Some sort of park with the critters long thought lost….

Alicia was sat within the confines of the Fort, which was her fortress like home on the Hunter's Moon, Sojourn. She found herself sat in a room full of monitors, which displayed key information on several business sectors and markets, both on the public and black markets. It was a hive of information, that put the stock markets to shame, with the latest technology and data fully available for Alicia to pick and choose where to invest, when to buy and who to do business with.

Spaarti Creations was a corporation that held significant interest and understandably so. Any attention- bad or good- placed the company into the eye of the public, giving it exposure that was rare, especially given the size of the company in question. Being a modest tier four company, it was quite small in comparison to the other corporations in the Galaxy. Using the exposure given to the company during the Roche Incident, Alicia sensed that Particia wanted to pull out of the company whilst she could still make some money. It was a good business decision, one that she would silently toast to the leader of the Black Tie Syndicate.

She reviewed the bids that had taken place and was surprised by the offers that were streaming in. Alicia knew each individual, some personally and others from reputation alone. She had sold Chandrila DataTech to Taeli Raaf, only to buy the company back a few years later. She had had a drink with Danger Arceneau once or twice, although the opportunity to do business with the red head had alluded her until now.

Then there was the others. Galven Solomon had shown interest in doing business with Alicia, following the recent scandal involving Ri'ess-Emeritus Industries and the fall out after the Imperial Remnant collapsed above Carida. Speaking of the Imperial Remnant, she noticed that the ex Commodore, Caius Flavian, had involved himself. She found herself wondering if he would ever want to do business with her again. After all, she had tried to use underhand tactics to seize former Imperial assets for a quick buck

Alicia did not know Reshmar, Senator Varta or Matsu Ike personally, but the offers that had combined since the auction began indicated alliances were being formed, so that everyone could get a slice of Spaarti Creations. Already, Danger and her husband had used their influence to seemingly corner the auction. They were now in a strong position to win. But Alicia, whilst late to the proceedings, would try and compete with what was on offer. After all, she required Spaarti's cloning technology for the JN-4 project.

Settling down to send out transmissions to those already involved in the bidding war, Alicia begun to build her own bid...

//To Senator Varta; Senator Flavian.

Greetings, esteemed Senators. I have been following the recent auction for Spaarti Creations and I have noticed that you have placed significant bids on behalf of the Galactic Republic. Given the recent debacles that Spaarti Creations have been involved in, resulting in the recent scandals on Roche and the rights of clone campaign begun by anti-Republic protestors, it would seem a shame that this corporation would fall out of Republic hands.

Myself and Senator Flavian know each other well, from our previous business dealings when he served as Commodore in the Imperial Remnant. I believe that he can testify that I am a rather good business woman and that I would be a worthy CEO of Spaarti Creations. I am willing to devise a strategy to win Spaarti Creations, which would result in the company remaining sympathetic to the Republic, maintaining it's contracts that are now under threat if they fall into the hands of the other bidders participating in this auction.

I propose that we make a combined bid. With the 11,000,000cr proposed by the Government of Carida and the 45,000,000cr launched by the Senate Appropriation Committee, I would suggest combing both of your bids. If this is acceptable, I will place a 10,000,000cr bid, bringing our combined total to 66,000,000cr.

This would far exceed our competition, and knowing Particia Susan Garter personally, would secure Spaarti Creations for the three of us.

I look forward to your response.

Alicia Drey.\\

As Alicia reclined in her seat to think, she was sure that she didn't actually want to do business with the Galactic Republic. It was why she had pulled out of Ri'ess-Emeritus Industries, with it's current CEO, Vitor Imperieuse, being a staunch pro-Republic supporter, something that she was not. But she had to respect her competition and she badly wanted Spaarti Creations, as it would accelerate her own plans for the revival of the JN Project.

Senator Varta and Senator Flavian did not know Alicia's anti-Republic sentiments. Gaining their favour, to secure Spaarti Creations, was worth the sacrifice. She had already outmaneuvered Flavian on the negotiation table once before and she was confident that she would be able to secure her place as CEO of the company, if both Senators agreed to her proposal and Particia agreed to sell the company to them.

But she had other ways to secure Spaarti Creations. Leaning forward, Alicia moved to craft her next proposal.

//To Galven Solomon; Matsu Ike

Greetings, Mr Solomon, Miss Ike. Both of you may remember me from our previous business arrangements. Miss Ike has shares into Chandrila DataTech, my first ever corporation and Mr Solomon has expressed interest in doing business together in the past.

As it stands, your opposition has launched significant bids for Spaarti Creations. Using their influence, contacts and wealth, as it stands, you have no hope of persuading Miss Garter, the current owner of the company, to sell to either to you.

I have seen that you have already combined your bids to the sum total of 14,250,000cr. I have enough wealth and influence with Miss Garter to sell to the three of us, if you were to accept my proposal. I am willing to forward 40,000,000cr to join your bids, bringing up our combined total to 55,250,000cr altogether. This would bring us above the bids of your competitors and secure Spaarti Creations for the three of us.

I look forward to your response.

Alicia Drey.\\

"Oof." Alric said as Danger placed herself on top of him, the pressure of her behind displacing some of the air from his lungs. She slid down and slowly pressed herself against him, a smile growing across his face as he looked down at the bids rolling in. A bit of surprise fell onto his features. Miss Raaf supporting him was somewhat, well no expected, but certainly wasn't too fat fetched, what surprised him was the addition of another ten million credits from a man that he had never even spoken to.

Now, Alric Kuhn was hardly one to turn down free money, but he was always suspicious when things shifted without his own hand guiding things.

"No tea." He mused out loud. "I don't want to bring the extinct back to life, I'm not God after all. I simply have an interest, as always, in technological advancement. The Wild Life preserve could function very well without Spaarti's touch, but the cloning technology they have always had will allow things to go so much faster. I'm an old man, waiting is such a difficult thing to do."

His fingers slowly reached up and laced through Danger's hair, his free hand clicking open a new message. "Nel returned my missive. It seems I'm a Vanir Technologies representative for the time being."

Alric chuckled slightly, mostly because of the irony involved. He then reached up and keyed in another bid. [35,000,000 Galactic Standard Credits, 2 Nephilim Class Corvettes, and 1 Archon Class Repair Station]

After sending out his own new bids he sent a quick message to both Miss Raaf and Mr. Reshmar. Neither of the messages were anything too complicated nor even overtly complex, simply thank yous and a statement of intention of any return in investment that either of the two, and their companies, brought.

Danger so far had not once been involved in the bidding.

The Queen of Trade was actually in her ship, with her husband, on their marital bed, watching her husband bid for Spaarti Creations. The woman had not once placed herself in the bidding at all, as she was far too preoccupied with her very naked husband kissing his shoulder and watching the bids.

Amusement would ripple as Alric made his bid at sixty million and added premier Vanir Technologies. Truth be told, her husband didn't require her help for bidding, he had more than enough money on his own from when he ran Titan Industries and now Vanir.

But a girl was always interested in helping her beloved. While she had not formally made a bid - she already had far too many companies - interest would mull within the Queen of Trade's eyes at perhaps offering to help her beloved.

"Mmm..." a kiss pressed to his shoulder, where Fiona's and Violet's name were scripted in black ink. "Alright. A simple wildlife preserve it is. Open space and having a way for people to safely observe the critters." another press of lips to the curve of his jaw.

"...Would you like some of my help, Mistah Kuhn?" the husky whisper blew across the shell of his ear. A provocative glint shone in her green eyes. She may be well past her fifties, but there was a classic beauty that went beyond the slight wrinkles and streaks of silver in her hair. Her nose gently began to rub against the soft bristle of his beard.

"My payment plan is quite agreeable... I offer a low interest rate with reciprocity." the wolfish grin grew wider.

Well now this auction had certainly swung in a number of ways.
Carida's current treasury barely scrapped the current bid as it stood.
However the timely boost by the combination of Senator Varta invoking use of the Republic's treasury.
Intriguingly though now two groups had formed out of this bid.

I chuckled to see that Taeli Raaf as a bidder, whom I was knew as Darth Arcanix. How and why the change of heart from darkness to light? I did not know but I was certainly looking forward to another encounter with her.

I received a message via holonet from Alicia Drey. I had to hand it too her, she certainly played role of a ruthless business woman. I suspect she may be much more than she lets one. Our interactions have always felt like she was very guarded despite putting a very strong front.
Regardless of her previous aggression toward me I knew it was nothing personal.
It would be hypocritical to wave her off considering the amount underhanded methods I've used to achieve power.

Either way I would simply have to be guarded in any dealings with her.

Well look like we are lumping together then
I began to prepare a message but before I knew it the bid had jumped up again to a staggering 60,000,000 credits.

First a message to the office of Senator Varta
<Senator, I concur with the figures provided by the appropriations committee. With the current bid I suggest we roll our lot in with Miss Drey. For now though I'll authorize a further 20,000,000 bringing our total to 65,000,000 from the SAC. Looks like we'll be having to sell some bonds in the near future! I can only authorize a limited amount more so we'll need to get another Senator in here to aid in this discretionary spending>

It paid to have a hand in a few different pots of money. Unfortunately for me I personally had very little.
So at this point having dabbled in both Carida's treasury and increasing discretionary spending from the Senate Appropriations Committee I was tip toeing a line.
Now the total bid would sit at 76,000,000

Then a message to Alicia Drey with Senator Varta CC'd

<Miss Drey, lovely to hear from you. I hope our last encounter wasn't in poor tastes, often times our emotions get the better of us both I feel. I certainly approve of your participation in aiding our bid. We'll await approval from Senator Varta's office but for now the Galactic Republic is putting a stake in this one as much as it can. We'll work out the details of management of this company at a later time.>

Contrary to popular belief, I have reserves. These reserves are the combination of my past Faction where I withdrew the entire bank account assigned to me, and wealth I have accrued with my new Swatrium, and saving lives. Truthfully saving entire planets is outrageously expensive, but the rewards were incredible.

Plus, it has seemed you do not wish to do business with me, so... Have a good day
\\

Matsu places the above quotes, and I will add.

My Bid
50 million credits
5 tons of Swatrium
5 units of Phrik (for 5 submissions, good for weapons/armor) *
3 Aurodium Bars (Wookiepedia averages this 1 billion credits, as usual; dependable)

Total
+50,000,000 from mister Pikiran

New Credit Total
155,000,000 credits

Due to complications, Phrik can not be awarded to Miss Blonde immediately. But if Matsu wins, the stated Phrik will be obtained in quick succession, without the help of Miss Blonde, on the same day.

Damien, having recently become the equal of Zaiden in terms of control on Val'hala, had word spread immediately to gauge the wealth in his stores currently. It was meager compared to the God King, for he had been receiving his donations for years now, but Damien had begun to slowly slink up the totem pole and with his elevation to Emperor of the True Sith, Zaiden had agreed to let him hold the same power he did.

With the announced proclamation yet to come, the reserves were found to be meager. Hardly a few million. Yet this combined with his many years as JAC's Leader, when he only ever payed for new items at other auctions, would pose a hefty amount.

He could make a large bid, and not entirely deplete himself. Though it would take a time to return to his wealthy state.

Galven, it is Damien. I am sure you remember me. I do you. Thus when I see your combined efforts with Miss Ike, I have decided instead of offering my own bid to surpass yours, I will trade my bid. With you and her owning the company, I want an affirmed ability to use Spartii at my own wims

Being that I trust you, I will send my offer currently. In closed is a healthy 50 million. It doesn't quite cripple me, but it does indeed knock me down a peg. So, if it is not a successful endeavour I expect it back.

Owning a Canon Company & It's Subsidiaries
1. Only one writer may own a Canon Company. You, as a writer, may not own more than one canon company.

2. Your Canon Company may not own other Canon Companies as subsidiaries unless they are directly referenced in the Wookieepedia as being owned by that Canon Company.

3. Each Canon Company Subsidiary must have another character not owned by you labeled as it's CEO/Director and must have their own Company submission.

4. Once approved, you may write that Canon Company's storyline as you wish. How did they survive the Gulag Plague? The story is yours.

Alric let out a loud whistle. "No, Mrs. Arceneau. I don't think I'll require a loan from your ample reserves."

As much as he liked the innuendo, it did actually apply to his current thoughts.

"This company is only worth so much to me." After all, the only reason he ahd first been interested in the purchase of Spaarti was due to the idea of cloning lost species. That technology was in it of itself not unique, but Spaarti was capable of doing such things faster then anyone else. So this entire thing was about how much Alric Kuhn valued the idea of doing that faster, not to mention how much he could turn that technology around for and make a profit. One hundred million credits was not only beyond that, but a tad excessive. "I believe there's a much easier way to garner the technology that we want, something that will cost far less."

He mused for a second and gently tugged on her red lock.

"I'll have to contact Miss Raaf and give her the bad news." He mused for a moment. "Though I suppose our combined bid could still be chosen."

Either way, Alric wouldn't be raising the stakes any more himself.
