PRAKITH
It didn't take long for Task-Force Thunderbolt to overwhelm the surprised administrators and the few guards that were stationed there. After getting the non-combatants down against the floor, it's much easier to gun down the CCTV and surrendered guards. They can't take the risk of having to face additional men when reinforcements arrive.

<Just two of 'em,> Xeno said as he secured the two out of eight targets, putting a gas mask on their heads. The rest of the squad entered the room while the smoke still hasn’t dissipated.

The elevator suddenly dinged, which revealed an elite party of two Sith Paladins and a Stormtroopers squad, with the Chairman at the very behind. That’s the one. Without waiting, the Sith ignited their crimson blades and the Stormtroopers started to opening fire.

<Jackal, take seven to hold the Sith, I’ll take three to flank the Stormtroopers and grab the Chairman.>

Jackal, Romulus, Guinea, Blackspire, Ymir, Kobel, Tech, and Spectre quickly formed an eight men formation, keeping their distance from the approaching Sith. Romulus took the first Sith charge, managing to dodge the initial swing but an elbow to his guts sent him flying against the wall. The others reinforced their position, with Tech trying to set up an electro tripwire, Spectre aiming for gaps on the Sith’s helmet, and Jackal & Blackspire shooting their slugthrowers at the two.

Meanwhile, Prowler, Elrod, Rosé, and Xeno blitzed through the side door to open another front, away from the Sith Paladin, and started to shoot at the Stormtroopers.

It took a moment for Drego to really register what was going on. Two spec ops stormtroopers trying to get the best of him. A shot to the arm from Saltare caused him to suddenly shift, flipping around as he allowed his back shield to take the incoming fire.

"Tanya, another round. I need covering fire."

<Aye sir. Incoming.>

The thundering scream of incoming mortars rang through the valley, as three Null Rounds fell upon the battlefield, filling the valley with smoke, before something else followed.

The sound of a walker, leaping from a cliff, and landing right between the Mandalorian, and the two stormtroopers.

<SHAKE IT BABY!> The sound of a female synthesized voice rang through the smoke, as it turned to act as a wall for Drego to recover.

From behind the walker, Drego took a moment to regroup. The battle rifle was low on ammo, his shotgun was too slow to reload.

Time to do this the old fashioned way.

Taking his back-shield off his warpack, he mounted it to both arms, before pulling his war shovel off his back as well, and charging at Saltare Dothon Saltare Dothon with the speed of an olympic sprinter.

"OYA!"

Prakith | Imperial Mining Guild
Objective: Storm the Guild, capture Chairman Okono Dukkha and any persons of interest
Items: Convertible bo-staff/wa-shen, light-bow
Engaging: Imperius Indomitus Imperius Indomitus
Allies: Xrabel Vaasketh Xrabel Vaasketh

Several things happened at once.

As soon as Orys finished talking, the droids fired at him in unison, forcing him to whip the wa-shen in a wide arc to deflect the blaster bolts.

Consequently, this put him in an incredibly awkward position to defend when the Sith Lord launched himself at him like a rocket, his one handed strike nearly bringing Orys to his knees.

Yet Orys smiled.

"You are a strong one, aren't you?", he gritted out. "Good. I didn't come here for nothin'. But let's get rid of your lil friends, hmm?"

Orys slacked his efforts, allowing the saber to crash to the platform floor, as, quick as a flash, he spun around the Sith Lord, taking off his light-bow to return fire on the droids. Soon, he was standing back-to-back with the behemoth, the smoldering machines surrounding them.

"Like I said...", Orys said without a care in the world.

"...I want a real fight- your toys aren't that strong. I'd say the warm-up is over."

Darth Imperius did not care for the intruders banter or whatever it was he tried to achieve by talking. It was shut off just as an ad feed would on the holonet, an annoyance that could easily be removed and leave neither trace nor impact on one's life. That was most likely also the effect this man had on the universe. None. Grander ambitions as foreign as discipline or purpose. Just another petty soul enlisted in a useless crusade against what they did not understand.

The Dark Lord was not sure what his opponent envisioned, but speed was not uniquely on his side. Neither mentally, nor physically. A lesson the ancient Zakuulan had been able to teach more than once. His massive figure seemed to turn into a mere shadow, an afterthought of physical existence as he turned together with the small opponent. His lightsaber following close-up. The momentum of the turn offered grounds for a two-pronged attack, a backhand slap aiming for the head and a incoming lightsaber jab that apparently aimed at the man's legs but was a faint that turned into a quick slash against the lower part of the light bow.

Meanwhile Prakith had been fighting its battle. Rebels fought the imperial forces in many smaller and bigger engagements. The Dark Empire seemed pressed, almost desperate. Good. Everywhere where the rebels were not attacking, imperial freighters and shuttles descended, sent from the ships at the edge of the system, taking hold of mining equipment, resource deposits, weapons and data. They rebels were entitled to liberate a pile of nothing, to celebrate their victory with the survivors, for that was all they would get.

As both Torson and Dothon tried to take down Drego through precise heavy fire, a trio of grenades soon landed throughout the battlefield soon detonating and filling up the approximate area with smoke, temporarily blinding both Torson and Dothon. However with quick thinking Torson switched his HUD to infrared vision so that his foe could not use the smoke anymore. As he walked through the smoke, Torson scanned the battlefield looking for his target soon spotting him taking cover behind a walker right before taking out what appeared to be a shovel and begin charging towards Dothon.

"Dothon watch out! He's coming straight at you" Torson shouted through the comms trying to warn Dothon of the imminent assault right as he took aim and opened fire at the Mandalorian unloading a few rapid bursts towards the Mandalorian before firing a few shots of charged plasma towards his legs in an attempt to slow down his attack and give Dothon some time to react and immediately counteract any strike the Mando made.

Saltare's rounds impacted Drego Ruus Drego Ruus as he fought Joseph Torson Joseph Torson . He continued his barrage of fire, rounds impacting the Mandalorian and ricocheting off his armor. The Mandalorian spun, revealing a shield to guard against Saltare and the rest of his squad's accurate fire.

Saltares fire continued, but he heard distant whoomps, signaling another round of mortar fire. "Incoming!" Saltare yelled again. This time, the rounds impacted across their small battlefield, filling the area with heavy smoke. Saltare's HUD flipped through the visible spectrums until it found one that could see through the smoke with some difficulty. But by that time, he had lost sight of the Mandalorian.

A synthesized female voice rang out across the battlefield as Saltare watched and felt a large mechanical robot land amidst them. Blaster bolts reached up towards the mechanical walker, but Saltare watched as they failed to materialize or dissipate before hitting.

Saltare backpedaled toward the HAAGx, where heavier weapons were still potentially functional. "Back to the HAAG, blasters won't work!"

Instead of an affirmative, Saltare's comm erupted with Joseph telling him the Mandalorian was coming right at him. Saltare snapped around toward the walker and saw at nearly the last second the Mandalorian in a full sprint toward him.

Saltare dumped an active thermal detonator on the ground and waited until the Mandalorian was nearly on him before utilizing his boots repulsorlifts, and jet pack to jump out of the way over 15 feet back toward the HAAGx, and use the momentum to continue to sprint for the heavier weapons before the walker took them down.

"Torson, make for the mine entrance; we're sitting ducks for the walker!"

Drego was always a quick thinker. The bolts that were aimed at him from Joseph seemed to dissipate before impacting, as Drego shifted into a somersault at the sight of the thermal detonator in his HUD, connecting his shield back together and pushing it on top of the grenade, before it detonated, sending Drego launching into the air, but unharmed. Then his boots activated, launching him forward towards Saltare like a rocket.

Once upon a time, Drego was mocked for his choice of not using a jetpack in Clan Bralor. Drego always had told them the same thing.

'I'll keep up.'

Drego didn't waste a moment. Another pair of heavy Whistling Birds fired from his warpack, aiming their explosive warheads right for the HAAGx, intent on disabling the engines.

He planned to trap them inside the cave, and deal with them there.

All the while, he swung with his shovel, aiming right for Saltare's head. If the sharpened axe-head side of the shovel didn't pierce, it would still leave the stormtrooper with a hell of a concussion.

<Locked on!>

Tayna, meanwhile, had spun the walker around, and fired another HE mortar round, the shell singing through the air, right at Joseph, before opening fire with it's four particle cannons, the smoke slowly dissipating as the walker opened fire.

Torson watched as his attack had little effect on the Mandalorian, who instead moved forth to shift his attention towards Dothon. Fortunately his comrade was fast enough to evade most of the attacks sending the Mandalorian flying and making a run for the Gunship to grab heavier weapons. Meanwhile Torson now free from the current fight, scanned his surroundings trying to find new opportunities to gain the upper hand. Soon his eyes locked onto the body of a fallen Imperial Commando, which Torson did not hesitate to rush towards as he quickly moved to scavenge the dead Commando for extra munitions soon arming himself with four more grenades along with some extra ammunition.

Once Torson had armed himself, he prepared to re-enter the battle ready to help Dothon fight back against the Mandalorian only to receive a warning from Dothon to retreat back to the secret entrance considering he and Dothon were now exposed to the Walker. It was then Torson turned around to see a single HE mortar round highlighted by his HUD head towards him. Intensively, Torson used his new boot's jet repulsor's to quickly create some distance right as the mortar impact the ground where he once stood mere seconds ago, sending Torson flying back through the air although he was soon able to stabilize himself with his jetboots before he could crash right back down on the ground.

Then from the smoke created by the explosion, a barrage of heavy fire came through targeting Torson although he was quick to use his aerial mobility to expertly dodge the rounds. Recognizing that this was most likely the Walker Dothon had mentioned, Torson fly high up and began circling around the approximate area of the Walker as the smoke began to dissipate. "There you are..." Torson muttered as he dived right down towards the Walker from above ready to take it down himself, expertly evading any shots fired by the Walker thanks to his HUD's early warning system before making landfall on top of the Walker immediately activating his boot's magnetization to upon landing to avoid getting thrown off.

As Saltare sprinted toward the HAAGx, his HUD allowed him to see the surrounding battlefield, giving him eyes in the back of his head. He watched the walker target Joseph, and he also saw the Mandalorian use his shield to cover the thermal detonator's detonation. The blast rocketed him into the air, and he used the momentum to activate his own jetpack, soaring directly for Saltare.

"Crafty," Saltare muttered as he continued to run, using his boots to leap farther than any typical humanoid could, giving himself a few more seconds. As he did, the Mandalorian let loose another barrage of his whistling birds, and they rocketed past Saltare, gunning for his men or the HAAGx. Either way, it left him with little choice about what would happen. With the walker targeting them and the HAAGx or his men being pinned down by the ranged fire of the Mandalorian, Saltare made a tactical decision to give them time to coordinate their efforts.

Saltare mag-locked his rifle and pulled out his pistol as his HUD locked onto the Mandalorian as he closed with Saltare, a shovel of some sort being swung at his head. Before it collided, Saltare used his boots thrusters to leap into the air, spinning around and attempting to catch the Mandalorian's swing under his left arm; if it was successful, he would wrap his arm around the other man's arm and trap it. With his right hand, he would attempt to jam his pistol up into the armpit of the Mandalorian where his armor was weaker and fire a disruptor shot at point blank.

The stormtrooper wanted to grapple.

Drego wasn't having it. He'd learned his lesson the first time, and he rolled to the side, once more putting his shovel on his back and quick drawing his blaster pistol, letting loose a trio of close range, high powered ion bolts. He needed to disable their mobility. His offhand raised, the half-shield guarding his left side as he aimed his pistol with his right, before shifting his right hand sideways, and unleashing a beam of cryoban towards the stormtrooper's pistol.

Meanwhile, the Walker attempted to adjust it's fire, using the AI's advanced systems to compensate for the agile trooper's jetboots, aiming where he'd be, rather than where he is. Then, when the trooper landed on top of it, the Walker did something that, normally, any sane walker pilot would avoid doing due to risk of self injury.

It jolted backwards with a tremendous amount of force, and slammed it's back into the ground. The force was enough to leave a crater in the ground, as the walker attempted to brute force the trooper off it's top.

Upon making landfall on top of the Walker, Torson magnetized his boots bracing himself for any attempts of the Walker to get rid of him while simultaneously preparing for his next move, which included jumping towards the side of one of the Walker's large particle canons and throwing grenades down the barrel in an attempt to take it out. However before Torson could execute the maneuver, the walker suddenly jolted backwards which would have thrown Torson off balance if his boots were not magnetized against the surface of the top of the walker.

As the Walker fell backwards, Torson quickly deactivated his boot's magnetization and flew off mere seconds before the Walker impacted the ground with such a force that would have been sufficient enough to incapacitate him had he remained on the top of the walker. However the Walker, now having slammed it's ground on the back would now be exposed from above with Torson quickly circling around to fly above the walker whose legs were now exposed to the Special Forces Operative, who grabbed a pair of Plasma Detonators as it flew overhead of the Walker.

Then with the assistance of his HUD, the Special Forces Commando would throw both Detonators at the joints of one of the Walker's legs flying away as the Grenades detonated upon contact before turning around and facing the general area where the walker once stood which was covered with smoke waiting for confirmation that the walker was down for good.

PRAKITH - MINING GUILD HEADQUARTERS

Oh, violence… Hevnor watched it unfold first through the Chairman’s eyes, and a terrified scowl crossed the togruta’s features. The twin Knights marched forward with terrifying resolve.

A pair of hapless functionaries were suddenly ripped up from where they had been restrained, carried by some unseen hand, and used as squirming, unceremonious shields. The unlucky pair took every bullet meant for the Sith, then were flung like crude projectiles. They blew Jackal and Blackspire off their feet, smashing them into walls and furniture. Bones shattered and limbs wrenched free of their sockets. They were unlikely to participate further.

The traditional blasters wielded by the remainder were of less consequence. Redirected bolts were sufficient to dispatch several more helpless administrators, followed by Guinea and Kobel in rapid succession. Ymir and Tech withdrew deeper into the room. The Sith, confident in their victory, pursued them.

That turned out to be a mistake.

One of them immediately struck the electro tripwire. Their plate armor acted as a magnificent conductor, but the initial charge was too low. The unlucky Sith roared and extended a hand, blasting a torrent of lightning into Ymir.

Tech frantically increased the voltage until the power became too great for the Knight to simply discharge. He began to scream, even louder than Ymir, and then he began to cook. Plumes of black smoke rose from the gaps in his armor and lighting flared out erratically in every direction.

Then as quickly as it began, it stopped, and all that was left was a silent hulk of armor. Still standing, but otherwise lifeless. The room was once again thick with smoke, and now the stench of burned meat. Ymir was beyond recognition: plastoid armor had fused grotesquely to blackened flesh.

Tech had a brief moment to process his victory before the remaining knight emerged from the haze and decapitated him in a swift strike. The Sith rather spitefully kicked over the headless corpse, and it was then that Spectre finally had his opening: a bright green particle shot lanced through the air and passed cleanly through the Sith’s neck. He seized up.

That should have been the end of it, but the Dark Side was a terrible power to behold. The Sith Knight flung his lightsaber like a knife, piercing Spectre straight through the chest. The last of the eight-man team ended up impaled against the wall, and expired soon afterwards.

The remaining Sith took a few uncertain steps towards Spectre, perhaps intending to reclaim his weapon, before pitching forward and hitting the floor. Dead. The lightsaber deactivated and Spectre fell in a similarly ignoble heap.

All was quiet on this front now. Except for Chairman Dukha, who had his hands over his ears and was whimpering piteously underneath a desk somewhere.

As Saltare attempted to grapple the Mandalorian, his opponent dodged and landed on the dirt, rolling and coming up with his pistol, ion and cryo beam shots lancing out toward Saltare. Saltare was still ascending and rotated toward Drego Ruus Drego Ruus to reengage. The ion blasts hit him, causing his HUD to flicker before returning to normal.

Due to Saltare continuing to gain altitude, the cryo-beam that would have disabled his shooting arm missed, skimming his leg instead. Saltare felt his armor try to compensate for the damage, but its cryo resistance was minimal, and the ion shots damaged his medical suite, not allowing stems to flow. The burning in his leg told him that the beam had caused damage that he would have to deal with the old-fashioned way, in silence.

As Saltare rose in the air he noticed Joseph engaged with the Walker, attempting to turn it into scrap. Saltare corrected his course quickly after and rocketed toward the Mandalorian, his HUD locking onto the armored figure. He closed the distance, pulling his blade and ready to engage in close combat, intent on staying as close as possible to mitigate the Walker's fire. As he landed, his pistol fired disruptor bolts at the Mandalorian's hand, intent on disarming him.

divider-megint-DE2.png

All it took was a shift of his arm, he let his suit's anti-disruption system take the hit, before rushing forward to meet the sword wielding stormtrooper in close combat, but not before point blank firing his right arm's concealed grenade launcher, the single shot HE flying right towards the stormtrooper, before remote detonating directly in front of him. Drego locked his boots, allowing the explosion to be dampened by the shield on his arm, and the inertial dampeners on his suit.

"You style yourselfs mandalorians, but you fight like troopers. I was taught to do both."
Drego mocked through his helm, charging forward, cocking his arm back and unleashing a sonic blast from his integrated gloves, unloading the entire power pack of it in one sonic boom.

The walker let out a groan as explosions rocked it, before Josephe was met with a new nuisance.

Blaster bolts rained down from above, as the drone that had been launched earlier opened fire, having been watching silently as the battle had unfolded. It charged Joseph with blinding speed, before suddenly detonating with four HE grenades just inches away from the trooper mid-air.

Torson hovered above the battlefield, waiting for the smoke created by the detonation of his grenades to dissipate in order to receive confirmation that his attack had been successful. However he could receive confirmation he was suddenly bombarded by a barrage of blaster bolts some shots managing to directly strike Torson although thanks to his armor those direct hits either bounced off of the armor or had little effect on him. While the attack did little damage to Torson, it had the attack of distracting him long enough to allow the drone that attacked him to rapidly close the distance with him before detonating mere inches away from the Special Forces Operative sending him all the way back to the ground.

Normally a fall at such speed would be enough to kill someone instantly, but Torson was fortunate enough to have state-of-the art Imperial Armor with him, which absorbed most of the blow leaving Torson with minor injuries and almost incapacitated. Once he could get on his own two feet the Special Forces operative slowly got back up taking a quick glance at the ongoing fight between Dothon and Ruus before looking in the general direction of the walker now that the smoke had dissipated, hoping that at the very least he had severely damaged or destroyed it.

At this point the Special Forces Operative was nearly exhausted. His armor had been considerably damaged and his strength was almost depleted after all the heavy hits he had taken. But he was a Soldier of the Empire, and he would rest when the enemy would be vanquished. Having lost his main Rifle during his fall, Torson would grab one of his rail pistols with one hand and another Plasma grenade with the other, ready to face any more attacks directed against him.
